Ok, this is just so weird…
So I found a purple star/gas giant system
And so I’m now visiting one of the many moons in the system, which orbit the gas giant (my first time visiting a gas giant, so idk if they always have a bunch of moons that orbit them, perhaps that’s always how it works)
And what’s cool is this moon is the first floating island world I’ve found in my own, outside of the expeditions
But I found a trade post, and it’s, well, crooked
You can see what I mean. I even reloaded to make sure my camera wasn’t wonky. It really is crooked.
I went off to scan some cool glowy striders, and came back, and the ships are landed under the trade post too This is soooo weird lol😂

You have to save before you warp to the fight/encounter.
You can no longer go to the space station and then reload the fight/encounter to skip, which unfortunately makes it a lot more tedious

If you want to try for a pirate dread encounters you need to save before you warp to a pirate system or high conflict system as well (although they can occur at random it seems)

There are some T3 conflict and Outlaw systems that spawn a battle everytime player warps into the system, but otherwise you have to save, best on the space station as it's the most convenient, before warping and when you check class and it's now what you want then reload to that point and warp again

Invest in cold mitigation gear and a good gun to go diving in derelict freighters for mass modules -- it's a slightly lower chance mathematically than picking them out of crashed freighters planetside, but HUNDREDS more chances (a good derelict freighter can have hundreds of chests to loot, whereas a crashed freighter planetside only has six).

No, they're set -- if you find a frieghter that pops out S-class modules, then it will always pop an S-class module (unless it pops a reactor, which is rare in personal experience).

whatever tier a derelict in a system gives, it will always give that same tier reward
But you won’t know until you collect it

So, pop an upgrade module first, and if it's not S, you can farm it for expansion modules.

3 star deposits, like curious deposits that drop runaway mould, spawn on laylines, lines of longitude

There will be a a layline on both sides of long -90, 0, 90 and 180. They will be on equal distance from those longitudes and distance between those laylines will be 655 units at the equator.

If you can take 2 points and calculate difference between their coordinates and distance in units you can divide one through another, multiply by 655 and it will tell you distance in Long of laylines I mentioned above

then divide that by 2 and you have distance from, for example, longitude 0.

Distance between laylines gets shorter as you get further from longitudes I mentioned by a partially random value.

You went a little bit more complecated way about this, there is a simple solution

Drop a marker of some sorts, not coordinates of that marker, walk/drive for let's say 1000 units, note the new coordinates and distance from your character

If first coordinates -> (Lat1, Long2) and second -> (Lat2, Long2) then you can subtract Lat1 from Lat2, that gives you one line, then Long 1 from Long 2 and then you have another line that has a right angle with the pervious line, a² + b² = c². You would get the best measurement if you did that at the equator but prettymuch any point on the planet will work well enough (except Lat 90° or something). Game doesn't give you the exact coordinates anyway, just approximation.

then divide C, diferrance in coordinates, by distance in units between your two points, that gives you degrees difference per unit, multiply by 655 and you get degrees in 655 units on that planet

I don't think we will see new terrain gen outside of purple systems, they didn't changed terrain's shape in Worlds par I, they didn't do that in II, probably to not mess up player made bases (even tho planets got messed up still)
