I wouldn't say it happens frequently but it happens at certain key parts of the game.

You get a Hyaline Brain as part of the sentinel ship salvage process. This is what converts to a Harmonic Brain during the restoration process.

You will be prompted to take the former to a nearby monolith, where it changes to the latter.

you can buy a settlement chart from a cartographer on a space station and get a new settlement, but you will have to develop it again and wait until it gets out of debt to see what itll produce

They usually don't produce anything particularly game changing, think of settlements like of a tamagotchi, something to check on from time to time

For anyone who hasn't tried, playing NMS in VR with HUD elements disabled makes it pretty intense lol. I am challenging myself to play as much as possible that way. I just got stranded on a dissonant planet for a long time because I lost my ship and couldn't spawn it to me because I was in active combat, and the corrupted sentinels would not leave me alone so it was a forced combat scenario. completely changes the way I play the game

Finally done with the Expedition. I honestly don't want to do one of those again, but the rewards are so good and exclusive so I feel I have to.

You couldn't hit craft more. It's a minor complaint but having to use a new slot for each and then manually stack them was annoying.

Yeah, definitely did not on my controller. The button that is usually Craft more became the consume button.

Anything consumable I had to make 1 by one and move onto the stack.

Hmm from the craft menu I've always had the option to increase the craft amount using the Bumpers on the controller (Switch and Steam Deck).

from what I have seen it looks like a mode for either extremely specific people or for no one. you cant progress it, you cant expand your ships inventory, you cant expand your multitool's inventory, there are no upgrades except for ones you scavenge, while that might work for ships and multitools it wont work that well for the exosuit
