How do get corvette part?
how does modding work? i pressume others cant see moded ships ingame ?
Buy them from a space station or find planets/moons with salvageable scrap
You put files in your game and your game behaves differently, example : you no longer have the 100 part limit
And others can absolutely still see your modded ships
so its generally not nice to play multiplayer & go into the anomaly with a 1k part corvette
since everyone can still see that and will probably lag if they dont have a pretty beefy system

Did anyone think about aircraft carrier?
On my corvette I added 4 of those turbine decorative blocks, but only 3 of them light up when I use the corvette. I tried taking it off and placing it back, but it doesn't seem to work. Is this kind of thing to be expected?
ok, according to a reddit post, the first 4 "wing modules" you place on the corvette will be "active", if they have animations they will show, the rest after those 4 won't. I took off some S-Foils and now two of the tubines light up, so I need to figure out which other modules count towards this.

They dont work in habs but will work in open spaces. I have them working in a few of my multifloor open bay design ships that I've built with base walls and floors. I use exo and bab's beyond base building mod, so if you aren't on PC not sure any of this will help you.

Break it down and make it again. Check out the pinned tutorials and look around at other builds for inspiration. Messing around with the parts and practicing the basic techniques of offset glitching will lead you to making better looking corvettes.

because people sometimes design ships that blocks them into a wall or similar object of their corvette and gets them stuck; Having the Classic Chair from the quicksilver vendor or the upholstered chair from the Construction Research will allow you to possibly build that close buy and allow you to sit in it to get a player out of that situation

Not sure what you mean since in Vanilla gameplay you make a corvette, finalize it, and add it to one of your ship slots in game.

But i also have a question, if i take off a bunch of the parts that use mod slots and put in stuff for my hyperdrive ect, and then put back those parts are they then just cosmetic?

I'm not completely sure what you are asking, but you can have all types of upgrades at once. 3 S/X-class upgrades, 3 reactors, 3 of the system specific pieces, any unique upgrades and the core system. For example, I circled all the pieces I have that contribute in some way to manoeuvrability in this picture.

Hi. I'm kind of new to the game been playing it for like 2weeks now. Built a pretty simple corvette just to try out this part of the game but wanted to ask. When you're showcasing these "first corvettes" you guys made it in creative mode ? So part limitation won't tie your creative freedom?

I can't speak for everyone, but I think most people just build them normally. Almost all the good ones do use the half-tile offset trick to squeeze parts together though.

Normally you mean farming all the necessary corvette parts on a salvagable scrap planet and come back and build the corvette? After 2 weeks of playing for me these parts are still very limited so my first corvette was really just something I was being able to build. The building trick is kinda nice. Some day I'll try to build a proper one.
how do you get that many tech slots on a corvette?
It takes about 10-30 seconds per part if you already have a basic functional corvette and just bombard the salvage planet without ever leaving the ship. You should be able to get all possible parts in just a few hours even if you're not being efficient.
Same way as any other ship, you unlock them at the terminal at the back of any space station
Click the tech inventory to upgrade that section instead
Well bombarding for me was pretty awkward I mean I built the base corvette went to farm other parts but the process of - scanning -entering cockpit- aiming-shooting the ground then leaving cockpit-scanning -marking again-entering cockpit etc.. this didn-t feel very smooth. Specially when I tried to shoot the ground below the marker often time it didn't hit anything at all..so I ended up just beaming down and manually dig it. Is it just me or this should be easier?
Did you hotkey these actions? Also, make sure you're in first person to avoid any animations when getting in and out. You should be able to aquire a new target within seconds each time
Just checking, when you say leaving and entering the cockpit, you just mean the seat, right? The sequence is to press the hotkey to stand up. walk forward one step to avoid interacting with the chair while scanning. Mark a target, take a step back and activate the chair again. You shouldn't have to actually leave the cockpit.

As for shooting the ground and not getting the loot, maybe you're using the wrong weapon? For some reason rockets despawn when they hit any flora, so they really don't work for this sort of bombardment. All weapons except the rockets and the beams should be sufficient though.

All that said though, there's nothing wrong with turning on free build mode if you don't enjoy salvaging. Games are supposed to be fun, not frustrating.
First, shooting lines are kinda offset if turrets are above/below cockpit, so shooting from bigger range is actually better.
Second, consider getting cyclotron, from my experience its AOE make farming easier.

It'll tell you what youre missing
make sure you put in enough reactors, they unlock upgrade module slots, and once you finalize your ship, that number stays locked in terms of editing the corvette. You can of course add slots using the terminal in space stations, but don't finalize too early, or you might just add to the upgrade cost afterwards

quite a lot of them too, but you can offset that with some efficient unit-generating farming or whatnot

53m gets you ... nowhere, when it comes to adding upgrade slots on your ship, well, you can add a few, but the cost quickly racks up
but anyway, it was just a heads up to not start with an unnecessary handicap
you're going to have to upgrade it whatever you do ๐
but my friend and I built the same ship from a youtube video, and he missed a step, he only had 3 open upgrade slots when finalized, I had 9, and I believe he forgot one reactor before he finalized
one thing that pays off is to rank up the guilds, the envoys can have free slot upgrades for your starship

1 stack gives you 1999 nanites, so you got about 6-8000 nanites then
in terms of getting upgrade modules, that's a lot
in terms of upgrading the class of stuff, that's not a lot
well that gets me about one class upgrade cuz I have like 3k rn

I don't think it looks much like an interceptor, but it doesn't help that your image quality is so low. The only decent angle is unnecessarily zoomed out and extremely blurry for some reason.

You can get Corvette Parts from any Planets or Moons with Salvageable scrap on them and digging them out either on land or from a basic corvette and shooting at the base of a highlighted salvageable scrap
You can trade the parts you get for more advanced parts at space station terminals; Basic parts that you can buy from the terminal can not be traded for advanced parts.
Parts are the same from station to station.
You can change the cost of crafting to free in options > difficulty if you want to just not grind for parts for your build and change it back after
So how do I increase the likelihood of them accepting my trade? It always says like, 2% lol

It's trial and error you want to use parts that have high value like Ceto reactors which i personally don't use.
or if you have a high amount of one part you're not using trade 1-3 and see how the percents works out and even try trading at low trade percents
By the way with this latest update some planets that used to have the "salvaged scrap" tag no longer do, but they still have it...
If you see a lot of waste containers around check out a few spots with your visor mode and see if you can spot the yellow icons.

It is supposed to show up in the same spot as the resources when you scan the planet from space, but for some reason some planets don't show the tag anymore.
But when exploring you find out they still have it.
it'll go to your ship cargo first and then your exosuit inventory if shooting from a ship
So how exactly do I get the % to go up higher? With higher rarity parts? That drop randomly from the salvage stuff i've been doing?
use 1-3 or more parts or just try different parts reactors are just a very easy way to get the percent higher

Ive seen it done before, but if it was a glitch, its likely been patched
Thinking about it, I dont see much of a difference between using the planet scanner in a freighter and in a corvette
Would be nice to have a planetary scanner in a corvette even if you have to individually scan each planet...
Especially since abandoned mode doesn't have freighters

Corvettes really made the multiplayer experience amazing. Iโve played for years and only ever did quicksilver missions by myself or with irl friends. I was just chilling in the anomaly the other night and started chatting with two brand new players and took them on their first mission killing hazardous flora in my corvette. I gotta say it was the most wholesome and magical experience Iโve had in the game so far. I felt like an old sage giving a tour of the universe.
That sort of thing is pretty fun, lol

You used to be able to hop onto another corvette pad and turn the camera around to delete parts off a corvette landed on another pad. That doesn't work any more.

I have a corvette currently that's 90% freighter base parts on a small platform of usable corvette ship.
I want to be able to delete more than that. The arbitrary limitations are dumb when I see player made UFOs with zero landing gear.
A lot of those are made in external programs
but yeah just an autophage skyscraper that lands on the anomaly.
And cant be edited in the corvette thing
just experiment with different bugs, iโm sure it hasnโt been patched, i didnโt see anything in the changelogs regarding ship building
I think the old glitch of deleting parts from another corvette terminal was patched because you could probably do the same to other players' corvettes

OK, I'm building a corvette on switch, and the 40 module limit is very harsh, just trying to make it as op as I can. Besides photon, what's the best weapon (to use with photo) or should I just stick with photon.

those are pretty good
Leave the photon cannon since you have a lower parts limit, you can still use other weapon types by installing the modules into your tech slots and they still work with the photon cannon part. Infra knife and cyclotron are petty good you can boost the tech.

Seems like they could. Every other weapon automatically removes under that condition, and they are additionally installable separately from the physical weapon add-ons. It could be a hold-over from old ship code. The photon cannons used to be permanent on old ships too. That behavior needs moved forward.
Cyclotron + infraknife is a good combo
imo rocket+infraknife is better
Cyclotron keeps them still. Handy for sentinels.
rocket+phase beam is soo good but its also a less "press button and they die" thing
you gotta be strategic and swap/manage cooldowns
the free shields from phase help a lot in big fights tho
hell you can shoot your phase at a freighter in a cinch and get free sheilds

to get you used to building corvettes and understanding them โ๏ธ
Just know that unless you got all the reactors up front, you'll want to start a new corvette when you get enough parts, unless you're loaded in units. The reason is that when you finalize your corvette, the reactors determine the number of upgrade module slots you start with. And your first corvette will most likely have few available slots to begin with. You can either use units to add the slots, or you can start a new corvette that starts out better. Regardless of your choice, however, you can with enough units upgrade both to the same limit, so it's just a matter of how much you start with.
if you need tips on how to get "a ton of parts", let me know ๐
also you can always make a creative save and practice building there
before you make a corvette in your actual save

its useful especially if you just dont find the part you want
