Decorative barricades. Rotated to a 45° angle and placed along the stairs.
they were in the update before this recent one but the recent one expanded upon them
The handrails on stairs are visual. Not physical assets. Adding these barricades adds physical rails to the sides
my issue with the stairs are just the entrance to them, going down the stairs barely works
Adding these barricades also helps going down
The hole at the top of the stairs is wider than the staircase. It only causing you to fall through more but making getting down awkward
By adding those barricades to the sides of the stairs you are shrinking up the empty space on the sides. Making it harder to fall through but easier to simply walk down
The short range teleporter is able to be built on corvettes. It just doesn't function and cannot be connected. But the fact that they made it available to build on a Corvette shows that they want it there. And that they want it to work. So fingers crossed it happens sooner rather than later
As it is now sometimes when you're in pulse drive and you use your stairs you are pulled out of your Corvette into space. So I imagine the short range teleporter have their own issues like that

You add storage and tech slots at the starship upgrade station in space stations. Left side in the far back. Ground floor
It's also where you upgrade ship/Corvette class and scrap/build basic ships

The exterior is almost done, and the interior is at least functional. I'm really loving this design with the new Atlas parts, though some base editing had to be done to remove the gaps between layers. Few more tweaks, and the interior needs to be done and I'll be done. And of course, the naming process.

You can use colors from your base and freighter on your Corvette.
For base colors use something like a locker that allows you access to all colors + concrete, stone, wood and rust.
For freighter colors use flat white wall panels.
You can select any color from these parts and apply it to the entire Corvette. While also using base color textures to alter the colors.
By using base texture options you are actually using Corvette texture options.
Concrete = gloss
Wood = inverted
Rust = Weathered
Stone = Metallic.
Using these color combinations opens up dozens of color options for Corvette.
Want a lime green Corvette? Use freighter color white/green and base wood texture. Hot pink? Freighter teal/pink with base wood (inverted) texture. The options are vast

Agreed. The yellow in the standard corvette color picker is more of an orange.
Also the lighting of most stations makes it hard to tell what's actually the final color in normal light

Yeah go to the quick menu like your selecting Galaxy map.
You see two seat icons. One leaves your seat in flight and the other sets an auto pilot to the station, planets or bases in the system. Allowing you to walk around freely while traveling.
Careful using ladders in pulse flight. Sometimes it will launch you out of the Corvette 😂

You don't need to build the biggest Corvette you can.

Well one thing to remember is as you add certain parts it will strip away your maneuverability. And the taller you build your Corvette the more it will also do the same.
So low profile and wide Corvettes are your better option for top maneuverability. And you can build a really good one between 50 and 80 parts

I specifically wanna have one that’s able to travel throughout more galaxies with those parts and has enough space for all 10 storage areas and the mission board too
The 10 storage containers are going to be what slows you down. Since doorways appear on one of the walls you need 6-7 Habs for them all.
I have 4 storage containers on my ship. And when I need one that's not there I destroy it and build the one I need.
This is made easier by renaming a storage container. Because that name also shows up in the build menu when you highlight that storage container

Do short range teleporters work in corvettes?
On top of that, if you adding a part in both sides, only look at the values after you placed the 2nd part.
Often, one part will drop your maneuv and once you add the 2nd it goes back to where it should.
This might be a bug but a thing I noticed is that sometimes it might show like 800 maneuv while moving things around, then I exit edit mode and back to get my real values to show up

Pure personal choice, I have 7 reactors, some folks have 12 reactors.
There is no real rule just the more thing you add, the more pain is to manage the techs slots, 60 is not enough
I like to hide my Zenith reactors, and I usually leave my Azimuth reactors exposed on the bottom
The Medusa reactors also look decent enough to fit with most designs but I wish we could ROTATE THEM FFS

You can rotate and move Habs a half space. Allowing you to place many parts in a small space
If you're going to use three medusa reactors delete the cockpit put in three medusa's and then put the cockpit in so it'll show all three in the tech slot area of your corvette.
Inxi told me about that earlier and i tried it and 3 medusa reactors in my build give me a 20 point edge in maneuverability versus 2 medusa reactors and the cockpit
It's soooooo easy to do. 1 minute to learn and less time to do it after
Red - 2 titan boosters meshed together
Blue - 3 Medusa (one backward and one half offset)
Yellow -azimuth
Green - warp drive
All in a 4x2x2 space

offset building i think is often used to achieve glitches or mesh pieces better together for function or look
Some parts are not meant to rotate. But we force them to buy offsetting. But offsetting isn't a glitch. Just a byproduct of rotating snap points
i've definitely used it to mesh certain pieces together or used it in conjunction with smaller habs to setup pieces to snap to areas i want them to
So the end result is a glitch. But not the method to get there
I’m mostly concerned about stability of the game; I built an asymmetrical ship using entirely normal techniques with a cockpit on one side instead of centered and every time I docked / undocked with my freighter it booted me into space

I can only see the blue virtual landing pad, if I jump to it, the corvette shows up but the base disappear altogether.

Set the USB storage as storage for capture and you can share your stuff here, not just that but record videos up to 1h 😌
Once done playing, plug it into your PC and voila, no cloud BS required
OneDrive, MS shit cloud, but I prefer to keep things locally, hook the external storage to PC and voila.

Save editing could change the actual ship class but that may break your save due to how it ended up like this

By parts meaning only exo suit, starship, multi-tool equipment which does have a higher rating then s class, to be honest you question didnt really make alot of sense 🤣

See what you can build with those parts
If you need more, just go search again
If you need a specific part
Just trade for it using other parts that you have a surplus of
Afaik a reactor is pretty good for trading
Or at least, trade the same type as the part youre trying to get
Look for planet with salvageable scrap (you can see it in planet resources after scan). Go to this planet. On it look for golden "wi-fi" symbol. Mark it, fly to it, undig and mine or shoot with photon cannon/cyclotron ballista from air.
Will interior decoration resources return if moving or deleting habitation modules?
Nvm seems I'll have to manually delete decorations to get all resources back. 😮💨

One of the reasons I keep using my corvette is that switching to another ship is likely to scramble the tech slot arrangement.

I've got modules yoloyed just recently, when I joined the friend.
They definitely have reduced when it happens, but it still happens
For me, at least, only the modules that come from ship parts shift around.
conclusion 1: Bubble tubes make great fuel/coolant pipes
conclusion 2: need to be more glowy, they dont really show up well in space

The atlas shield spheres of death look neat as decorations. Mine accidentally clipped through the roof of my ship and really add to the ominous ambiance.

Haven't built a corvette outside of expeditions yet so i have a question: as many corvette parts add tech, is it a better idea to build a minimalist one, max it's tech slots and fill them with useful stuff before finalizing it's outside look?

You have to like the corvette to use it.
However, there are methods to squeeze parts into small places.
Like, 2 parts one into each other, 3 into place of 2, 9 into place of 4 etc.
So you can naturally, through simple offsets and glitches, squeeze all the required tech parts into small place.
Imo, optimal tech layout is 2 of each reactor (3d give the smallest bonus), 3 engines
But I'm sacrificin pair of CETOs to squeeze 3 of each other reactor.
There is a post on Reddit talking about how they're sick of seeing modded Corvettes and they want to see people's Corvette builds without using mods or glitches.
Many commenters are questioning the posted Corvettes and accusing them of using mods or glitches. It really goes to show that the average player doesn't understand what a mod or glitch is.
If people would just take 5 minutes to learn a couple of these tricks they wouldn't be so against some of these builds so much
tbh glitches rather looks like "this was intended, but cut due to some reasons".

Yeah I don't consider offset and rotating glitches. Because we're not creating or forcing new snap points. We're just manipulating pre-existing snap points

The window free placement is other type of beast too, tho.
A lot of wire glitching and Base building involves creating your own snap point where there isn't one. And that's not really Corvette building.

I can understand why we could not rotate hubs on non-90 degree angles by design, but some parts definitely crying for free placement and more rotation freedom than we currently have.

Hello games doesn't get enough credit for the master class level of designing the game to be perfect for VR players while not making it blatantly obvious for non VR players that they are playing a VR game

Appearances aside, are there any practical reasons to use a traditional ship type instead of a corvette? Can you fit as many tech upgrades on corvettes? Seems like they have some major practical advantages, wondering if there's a trade off.

I personally use legacy ships instead due to corvettes not having a lot of QoL features I’d want in a feature like that. Also I like the simplicity of legacy ships. At the end of the day it mainly boils down to preference unless HG adds something to give legacy ships a leg up.
They have the little teleporter though, seems like an advantage as it saves on launch fuel (although with a charger that doesn't matter much) and lets you hit the ground in more areas where there isn't space to land normally?
There's no way to unlock a hatch from the outside? Like I noticed I stood on the thunderbird landing bay platform as it went up accidentally stepped off and couldn't work out a way to open it again

Are there qol features that legacy ships have that corvettes don't? I guess the solar sail things and other stat boosts unique to specific ship types, but anything more impactful?
It seems to me that corvettes have the qol advantage due to features like refiner, mission board, ability to scan while on autopilot, teleporter, storage etc.

My main gripes with corvettes is not being able to delete a corvette entirely and get the parts back which honestly should’ve been a feature on day one. Second is the lack of landing pads obviously. Third is just how slow they turn compared to legacy ships which isn’t really an issue it’s just something I don’t like.
No you cant access the switch from the outside. And the Thunderbird Bay has a nasty habit of closing when you don't want it to.

The atlas parts? If you claimed your rewards from the Quicksilver vendor he would have given you blueprints to craft as many Atlas parts as you want.
They are like Base building parts. In which you got to have the materials in your inventory while you're crafting your corvette.
But they should be available on your Corvette list to build if you claimed the blueprints. Just greyed out until you have the required mats in your inventory
I mean, the best you can do at that point is to file edit the class back to A, or to add the specific SC and missing inventory slots

Well I would definitely file a bug report. Missing rewards are something they can usually address fairly quickly.
If all else fails that expedition will be reran by the end of the year. So you can at least run it again to get those parts

At the Quicksilver vendor you have to choose the option on the bottom to claim your expedition rewards. This is where you get the blueprints for the parts

That's how my Royal feels with the Infra Knife.
Funny enough, my 3x Cyclotron destroys Freighters just as fast as my 6x Phase Beams

the problem(?) is that all guns fire at the same time at whatever powered up phase beam dps you have configured assuming there are only two beams
I.E if there's only 3x phase beam turrets out of 6 turrets, it only fires exclusively to those three
It retains the damage, but not cranked enough due to the additional 3
or better yet, make the damage calculation independent of beams fired

Non-corvettes fire two guns for most weapons
The corvette fires from all guns, but due to the way phase beams work, they all fire simultaneously

Seems like a nonissue
If you have 6 guns and phase beams to 8000dps, then you will do 42000dps. If you have 6 guns and infra-knife does 16000 dps, then you will do 16000 dps even though knives are coming from all guns.

The 3 guns that benefit from more barrels are Phase Beam, Cyclotron, and Positron
As all of these fire simultaneously instead of cycling barrels
I put three positron on my Corvette and I could barely see anything while they were firing off.
It was just flashing lights, explosions and death...

you should have seen me on my first dreadnought encounter I was flying around like crazy looking for the shield generators. It took a few retries to finall understand what I had to doe
I think this is the earliest in a safe file I've had my freighter maxed out on Tech modules. Those dreadnoughts just hand them to you.
Once to "spare," the ship and then a second time when I don't in fact spare the pirates
I'vs read that landing on the dreadnought makes you lose the upgrade

The 3 hours between pirate encounters is a buzzkill when I can leisurely march through the Uenoh in about 20 minutes.
I encounter those dreadnoughts way more frequently when bouncing from Pirate system to Pirate system
The encounters where you save the freighter from pirates flying around it happen every 3 hours. But not that pirate dreadnought battle
Like it's one reason why I quit bouncing pirate systems looking for x-class mods. Because fighting that freighter over and over gets tedious

And I just realized why they do that.
It prevents new players from frequenting Pirate systems hardcore and racking up a lot of nanites off flipping x-class mods.
IIRC the freighter tech modules only drops when you destroy the dreadnought without it surrendering

Can someone tell me why only one of those engine looking things is lite up and spinning? The one near my head is not working.
So someone asked about base clipping. So as you can see from the screenshot, you have to position the teleporter facing AWAY from the base (that probably will spawn corvette rotated 180 degrees), on the ground, and still far enough from the base.
It's a known visual bug. The last round of updates was supposed to fix it. And it's kind of better a bit. But some of them still don't fire when they should
The one similarity I've noticed is if you build them in an offset position they are way more likely to misfire.
Which makes sense. If the visual of it firing is supposed to line up in a certain precise spot I can understand how offsetting it by half can mess that up
All four rockhopper engines on my ancient ruin ship are in line. Not offset. And they are all currently firing at once
There is a limit on "engines" amount that will "work", and engines & landing gear & hoppers are somehow intersecting withing this limit.
I keep getting the To Complicated to save design message when I am trying to finalize my Corvette. I had it finished and all i did was change a few colors. I am pretty new to the building corvettes but what would be my problem? Ship to big? using to many parts? I see way bigger and more complicated ships in the pictures on this feed!

You should be able to take a screenshot directly from your GPU dashboard options. Whether it's Nvidia or amd. It will take a screen grab off the GPU itself

Strange I had it complete and was using it for a while. I just wanted to throw a splash of color on it and changed the color on a few pieces and now I get the error message.
You have to fit into 100 parts...
If you're on console playing in VR you can just use the consoles basic screenshot options and it will still take a shot. Even if not connected to a monitor

Yes but only through expedition
You have to copy your Corvette from one save file into expedition. At some point you will need to change or remove one part on your Corvette and rename it.
Once you complete the expedition and load your ship into the expedition terminal you can then claim it on any save you want.
This is also how you can duplicate a Corvette in your save that you want to replicate. Either because it's already S-Class or because it has a good supercharged slot layout

- The ship parts that providing stats having diminishing returns, so you don't need to have 3 of each for good stats. Having place for more S/X-class upgrades will give you more.
- You don't need more than 1 weapon type. Drop all others.

Mine is almost not heating, hitting like a truck (1 tap to delete shield, 2 taps to delete ship)
infrra knife erases everrything. ive neve botheed worrrrying about any other weapons lol

realy depends on what you want. for fighter ships i push manuverrability and weapons.

can anyone explain how I use freighter/base part colours to change the colour of my corvette? saw the pink/teal comment earlier but can’t seem to find how to do it.
You can put couches, lockers or etc on the outside of the frigate in interior building mode.
Then go to the corvette building interface, edit corvette, point the cursor on the parts you placed outside, edit colors of it, hit "apply to entire corvette".

The Atlas parts are certainly game changers for me. They really help with hull designs, wing designs, noses, and trim..
One little annoyance I have is that cargo racks aren't detected by crafting nor refiner, but I've noticed it's same for every version.

As long as you can fly it then it's good.
Also try to put parts of a similar class next to each other so the landing gears next to the launch thruster and engines next to the pulse drive.
where atlas was there I found a good planet to loot without sentinal wopping my ass
If you need more arts look for salvage scrap when scanning planets, if you destroy them you get corvette parts. It's easy to end up with lots.
Now that you have a basic Corvette you can rack up a ton of pieces in a short time looting scrap from the air. A good hour of flying over a planet with scrap and you will fill up your inventory with parts. Many of which are extras that you can sell for Bank
