What's interesting is in the Corvette interior build menu we are allowed to properly build and place short-range teleporters.
You're just not able to connect them or activate them. But they're in the Corvette build option and placeable...
So that tells me they're trying to make teleporters work in corvettes. So hopefully we get that on a future update
possible future use maybe. I mean i think they are there because the hatch functions as a teleporter, with your ship depositing a beam down site when it comes to all stop

What we really need in all build functions of the game is a tool that allows us to create our own snap point on an object
It's so simple. And would solve a bunch of complaints. While negating many glitch build methods
ah the build camera would definitely help. just can't quite do it in first person when building on a corvette. Tho I have seen a lot of good suggestions.. there was a guy made a youtube wish list where he was talking about wider habs, smaller habs to create variation. Doors. Walls.
Well they are far from done with it. From what I understand this Corvette build system is basically going to be the ship building system for their new game Light no Fire
This is them testing it and improving it before implementing it in that game
i kinda figured this much as well. in fact ithink theyve been testing the future mechanics in NMS to prepare for LNF
My corvette is officially complete I think, inside and out. Just hope they fix the animations soon for the landing gear.

i stopped using the extending landing legs tbh they made my bird look like a damn flamingo and uidk i just hate how it looks
like theyll extend out so far that the legs are taller than the ship itself

That's my builder Corvette
It has no Tech mods on it. Just easy access storage containers for quick building
It's so much easier than running back and forth through the hallways or multiple levels of the Corvette. when you need to access all your storage units quickly
so what you can do
is put storage on your freighter and have a matter beam so that you can always access your storage from your freighter. then you can access all 10 storage units just by opening the menu
tbh i only have "storage" on my corvette for the aethetic clutter
this must be a heavy troop transport -- oh wait nevermind. you clarified. heh its the ship of a builder!
well believe it or not I built storage on mine to do the opposite, to take the place of the freighter even tho it has the matter beam. The freighter has a new job.. it serves as the marker of the last system that I explored so I can warp home and then back out for exploration!
what I REALLY want to see is teamwork aboard a Corvette. Since we got someone flying the ship, someone else should be able to scan, someone should man weapons, and heck.. someone should be captain for heavens sakes. Teams of four doing missions in my experience has at least been fun!
would be badass similar to warframe, but if im honest, i just dont see that happening unless they add more adversity in the cosmos
Got everything I need in my Corvettes and hardly use the freighter or my bases anymore. I use space stations as my bases now.
I found it interesting that ya all believe this will be for Light No Fire, as from what I was hearing technology and going through "ages" will take time and teamwork. Similar to working as a clan? I could be wrong.. but getting to space technology and then taking off.. mmm that would be a thing.
I think Sean has said that all the new stuff in NMS is to test it for LNF.
oh I believe it. I just think it will be FUN to do as groups if it does become community dependant. We all start on the .. I am gettin off topic. This is for corvettes 🙂

Curious about weapon placement on Corvette. Does it matter how you place your weapons on your corvette? I placed 3 photon cannon arrays in a logical setup...but when I fire them in space, it appears they are comming from all different directions. Not from where they are.......this seems to cause problems when dog fighting or does it make no difference?
you in first person?
Right now it's a bug because putting more than 2 no matter the type causes the aim to to go wonky in first person and in third person it's fine.

It's not just wonky - turrets fly separately for corvette XD

I still prefer my fighter for everyday driving, but my corvette has a hyperdrive range of 2500ly and a warp cell efficiency of 650%, with 3 warp engines stacked with the all the warp modules and upgrades.
You can make some pretty OP weapon packages too in the same way, since the corvette weapon parts and shields will stack with modules and upgrades, adjacency and superslots.
Also some of the ships these guys are making are pretty great.
my main issue with the corvettes is the inconvenience of using them. dis/embarking and docking

Oh there’s def some awesome looking ones out there, for sure. The customizations the only real upside I see. My starship has a 2000ly jump on it and I’m not sure what the efficiency is but I rarely have to fuel it and I warp around A LOT. To each their own ya know. Probably depends on your play style and preferences too.
Actually....you are correct my friend......I just realized that I am in first person in space where I notice the issue, but on the ground or in a vehicle or mech, I am in third person........did not realize that until you said something........DUH! LOL!

Finalise the corvette, then enter and open the base building menu
its a 1ps bug tbh
so when youre done building your ship. leave the ship editor. hit up on the d pad to go into "base building mode" where you can access decorations and modules for the corvette specifically

anyone know why my habs arent connecting when im building? o.O first time this has happened but they arent connecting to eachother so i can walk through them. they are just standalone units with no entry
I was just giving an example with the hyper drive. It's what I use my corvette for, instead of some explorer or an exotic.. if I want the range.
The 3 corvette warp engine modules adds 600ly and 300% efficiency, without bonuses or any upgrades. I can still use all the same upgrade tech as other ships.
The same applies to weapons and shields. Corvettes are mid-tier ships though, so ok at everything, good at nothing.
If you really want to OP, then you should use a specialized ship.

cus like i only use the basic ones idk how to get others
scavenge for them on planets with Salvaged Scrap. trade crap parts for better parts at the corvette terminals in the station.
Fair warning the parts you get may be dupes whenever you search those planets but it just serves to help the trade system if you get multiple parts of something you don't need or want

you get corvette parts from derelict freighters too. Usually better parts, like engines and habs
If you're lucky you can get a reactor from them as well. But those odds have been very low, at least for me anyway
I think hunting pirates too, tend to drop corvette parts
Every now and then they do but it's extremely rare for them to drop em
i finally make a design for my corvette I like... and its bugged and i cant even use it >:|
You'll have better chances if you are at a high conflict pirate controlled system. Those are the systems where I usually get my best drops
I was just in a system and with a dreadnought encounter that I destroyed but it glitched out and the mission never ended, so there was a forever onslaught of pirates. I got a whole bunch of parts.
Try reloading your restore point if you haven't already. Most times you'll respawn inside your ship, or change your loading bay part if its closed and you can't open it
tried all that... for some reason if i place a 2nd hab over the existing bugged one it will connect the rooms and then i delete the bugged one...
it looks like some how... the first batch that bugged was off centered a bit... certain parts arent aligned when i place one over the other..
Thats a new bug to me. Most times the game just locks me out of my ship whenever im exploring or somethin
ive spent the last like... 2hrs working on different designs and i finally get this one and go to test fly... and it does this..
If the hab you're having problems with is off-center, you might be screwed. But if it's not, just do the hab glitch to the next hab and rotate the one you're having issues with.
i ended up placing another over the bugged and deleting the and it seemed to update and fix itself...
really annoying.. worst part is.. now i have to switch the hab types cause ambassador habs are too bright x.x
All part of the risk with glitch building.
If you're putting two habs together like you described, you almost certainly used the hab glitch.
not intentionally it just let me build over it and it happened to fix my glitch
As glitchy as the corvettes are, I've yet to have a backwards hab that wasn't a result of doing the hab glitch, and I've never been able to put habs into each other without doing the glitch, but maybe that's something that does happen.

im assuming by the fact i couldnt set up the wiring that shortrange teleporters dont work on corvettes?
Ooo... This base builder mod/program is opening up a lot of opportunities. I can actually rotate my weapons and make them larger. Problem is, it's just by up scaling so I cant just make habs longer and wider without making them also taller.
I'm definitely going to mess with the design of my ships when I get a chance. Hopefully I can get used to how the program works. At least the rotation and scaling is super easy.
it's the stair
the stair is turned and because of it, when you place the hab on top, it takes the orientation of the stair, thus rotating it at 180
you can either:
- delete the stairs, place the hab and place back the stairs
- pick up the hab again, place it in position and scroll the mouse wheel once to rotate back into the normal position and place it

Oh yeah. I could tweak the cockpits too. Make them look less bulky.
Its custom, although inside the seat theres a very scaled down thunderbird cockpit that you can sit inside

It doesnt have glass actually, for the thin rod parts i used autophage railings scaled down
Its very hard to get in an out of the ship with glass there so i cant have it unfortunately

i'm thinking of making my own custom bridge and placing a shrunken cockpit on to the chair of the custom brishe
Yeah but you need to share files and stuff, its a bit complicated if you arent used to it
With shrunken cockpits, keep in mind that the first person view isnt actually aligned with your character’s head
Its such a shame. If you go in first person the pov is in front of the cockpit, but your character kind of sits on top of it, so you gotta choose either looking cool in first person or third person, cant have both🫠
My goals are to rotate my weapons to make my ships look more like combat vessels, mess with hab sizes, and finally build better small designs with canted wings and skinnier cockpits. Now that I think about it, I could possibly make a huge cargo area with an equally large ramp as well.
Open or closed nose? And the main question is, can I stack that front slide part with the generator block I wedged in between?
Additionally, can I stack those blue battery shield things (see on top) on the same spot?
Dont forget that you can go way beyond the current part limit and make them insanely huge lol

you can't place both of them on the exact same spot
you can however place one half way into the other
as in, half way into the floor, and another one, on the floor
actually you can try to place 2 walkways inside each (a normal one and a rotated one) other below the generators, and then place the first generator and when you will try to place the 2nd one, scroll down to try to rotate it

Is anyone else on here using controller on PC to play ... and build corvettes?
I have this problem that's been here for a few weeks, but I just found its a broader issue than I previously thought.
I've run into this about 10 times now. I've boiled it down to being about changing part colors. I use a controller (Dual Sense) wired on PC and when I go to change color of a selected part, make the change, then hit the TRIANGLE (Xbox controller = Y) button to get back to the ship and select the next part – eventually it seems to lock me out in a manner where the controller and mouse+keyboard still work to move the camera in build mode BUT none of the controller buttons or kbd ESC or TAB or whichever will get me to a menu – I am locked eternally able to move the camera but cannot get out of build mode or do anything in build mode – so I have to ALT-F4 out of the game.
^ I just discovered this is not just about the color menu; I just got frozen out while buildling a new corvette, having just placed only landing gear and a hab unit - - went to pick the next hab unit and was locked out just as above.
Have reported to HG, but there probably aren't HUGE numbers of us using only controller on NMS PC.
Extremly frustrating -- esp since inverted mouse controls for flying make crafting a corvette hugely awkward

I assume they are working a very large corvette bug patch right now - it's been quite a while since a PC Exp patch and I think that must be what they're doing. So many issues out there I see discussed.
I agree. however very very pleased with how they have been handling it! Fixes have rolled out timely in y opinion
Yes - it was a massive upgrade combining base mechanics with a ship. I am not shattered by the bugs.
They have been addressing well.
Some items I see addressed that haven't even had patch note bullets
Like now being able to jetpack while atop your autopilot-guided ship without it stopping on a dime - again.
Wish they'd fix the tech shuffle.
It's not an HG or game issue. It's a steam issue and it happens in many games.
Makes sure Steam controller input settings are turned off
"Right-click the game in your library, go to Properties > Controller, and select Disable Steam Input. A full system restart after this change can help."
Since steam implemented this it's cause conflict in many games. It really isn't necessary. Most the games we play on PC are fully supported by the controllers we used. This is just Steam putting themselves in the middle of that process when it's not necessary

I'd assume as much. It's one of the only things keeping me from really enjoying my ships. That and the fact that I'd have to use the save editor to fix the tech slots.
Does any one know how to fixe corvettes not shooting where your aiming and being wildly off set ?
Never had that issue. Mostly because my ships don't have any weapons in their tech slots.
You mean when your beam is firing from like the top right of the screen?
Reloading the game. That they only way I know to fix it. Landing and getting out, swapping weapons etc....none of it works.

most tutorials that I have found dont cover the glitch portion
most of the builds that are found on yt are just vanilla builds that dont even cover using panels
Probably going to need a mod to do that. That's a base piece and I believe the only way to use all those pieces is with a mod.

Then it's probably a case of building your corvette on your base or something similar if you can't rotate that part in the station.

I have all the starship trails except rainbow and have the polo figurine and Artemis figurine but no matter what, my maneuverability is 3711.8
Your polo setup looks fine, the issue is probably elsewhere

Nope, that's not how the game works. Size has some sort of effect but it's absolutely negligible. You're probably missing some other tech modules or are not using adjacency fully
I have s class iridiuium and emeril hyperdrive boosters . Been trying but can’t get it past that and I have all the trails except rainbow

Those have absolutely nothing to do with manoeuvrability. The hyperdrive does not contribute to pulse drive stats in any way. I circled all the modules I have that impact manoeuvrability either through direct stats or through adjacency boosting of things that do impact it.
Should polo be in supercharge slot?
Whether you want to prioritize it to that degreee is up to you. I don't have polo supercharged, it seems a little wasteful
Does the 6000+ maneuverability make a difference?
Absolutely. All effects of manoeuvrability is linear as far as I can tell. Even at extreme levels
I thought so and 3711.8 isn’t too bad I don’t think. Hyperdrive is 2428.9. It’s 2 stories and big rooms/hubs. I just need the last 2 figurines, the rainbow one and I’m done. I really like my corvette. Especially my guest room
I'd love to see my large ship have extremely high speed and maneuverability
Corvettes have a rather low base agility so you have to pump up the stat if you want to compete with fighters
Wish more people would ride around with me. I have most space food. Even the tart jams and stews
My corvette is more of an explorer plus I have emergency warp in case things get too heavy. Definitely not a fighter
Make food truck and park it on anomaly and make food giveaway
5 beds, including guest bedroom with all glass and wrap around sofa office chill zone upstairs. Have a botanical garden on the first floor with glass view and then all the necessary refiner, nutrient processor, etc. I have tons of space cookies

I got some green ones. I was hoping to explore places with friends in my corvette. My office area has one sofa and then long wrap around sofa, plus chair with desk. I can install 6-8 seats on the first floor, all window view in the back. Big crew that explores everywhere

They're figurines. You can get the unlock at the anomaly and then craft them

Trails (probably) don't have any stats, but they do provide adjacency for figurines like Polo, and Polo buffs manoeuvrablity
Is there only one option for interior stairs for Corvettes? I can't find any other options, but I really don't like the one that is on the first tab

They aren't physical objects. You craft them in the tech inventory.
I have only personally confirmed that Polo does what the wiki says, but this is supposedly what they all do
Boosts are really small so they are far from being essential
That's true. It shouldn't be your first area of focus. But it is helpful if you're really trying to push a particular stat higher

I did find a reddit post that claimed that the tentacled figurine also boosts manoeuvrability but if it does it isn't in a way that shows numerically. But I gave it some adjacenent trails just to be on the safe side. 🙂

cargo? just use 3 long habs
gens? i like to combine them into one big generator or hide them beneath the hull
shiels? usually i hide the pillar ones inside my big generator

use the longer cowlings or ac pipes, radiators etc for the underside.
I prefer the mag landing jets for the underside myself and feel it goes better

I feel like they released only some of the parts for two reasons:
- Glitches and bugs... There's still some stuff to iron out, but they didn't want to delay much longer.
- If they add more parts it might throw off the salvage ratios and players will have a more difficult time building ships if there's too many cowlings and other visual only items
oh there are more parts coming, I can promise you that. Heck, some of the other parts you technically already have, they are just hidden and not made visible.. yet 🙂 Sean will surprise is, as he usually pleasantly does!

You can put it first aid station against the wall before placing the med Bay
Gives it some sort of immersive interaction for the med bay
Can put a save point down before placing a bed unit. Makes the bed actually serve a purpose
another thing i do is like. for the bottom ill try to offset to the middle and then place the cowlings upside down outward depending on the size of the shp
It hides the object but you can still interact with it.

I got my first corvette and really like them, there is one small thing I think would help out and that's a quick menu button when piloting it to deploy the teleporter as a sort of anchor so you don't have to run to the back of your ship to press the button. I've noticed that ships that hover don't technically hover they have some forward momentum I've gone AFK walking around in mine above my base and when I came back I had drifted quite a ways from my base.

you can't hide them, the vanilla work-around though is to:
- go to a corvette pad that your corvette isn't landed on and "create a new corvette"
- edit your main corvette from that plate

But basically u can go through settings and make the game creative mode, almost
By turning off the cost setting u can basically get stuff for free, including corvette parts
It does take out the grind aspect from the game tho
Which is why I only used it for corvette as I was too imaptient to find and exchange parts

I should also let u know, if u are going for steam achievements, messing with settings might turn those off

As much as I'd love to try that, I have a hunch that my inexperience with the base building app will lead to me completely fucking up a design by accident. Plus I'd have to somehow turn my bridge 90° while maintaining the staircase connection to the habs below.
I am absolutely going to ruin a design to try out several ideas, though. Like making a huge central hab in the middle of the ship. And making large ramps in my transport so exocraft can deploy.

Nope. Even when you have your wire tool selected at your base as soon as you pan over to any part of your Corvette it cuts you off.

Can upgrade Corvette class and storage/tech slots at space stations. At the same console you do with starships

It's pricey though. Take advantage of trade surges when you can.
Always buy up everything at the space station and a trade post. And make sure you're selling your good at trade posts. Not space stations.
Trade post give you more money. Higher percentage on sales.
Can also use starship storage augmentations. Cheaper.

i also did something like this just the other day. i used the curved window on the inside of the hab so you could actually see chair and a normal windows on the outside 'cuz i like that style of bridge. also. rotate the hab at 90 degrees to have a bigger viewing field as the corners will be much smaller
Didn't tink about rotating the hab. Yeah that side wall would look much better.

Mods but I think there's a glitch too, but either way there's a high chance it will corrupt your save

Mods for the bigger base parts like domes and stuff. You can use a glitch (kinda glitch) to put other base parts on your ship.
And certain accessories/decorations are just normally available

Instead of habs look at hull linkage and other filler blocks that are not so boxy and may work better with the contours of your ship

I really like the Titan Habs, but from what I've seen they're definitely more tight (especially with cargo walls)
I haven't used Ambassador enough to know since I dont like the interior

Jeez there's a glitch when you enter the Anomaly and your interior of the corvette gets whitewashed, if you have ambassador hab you'd get flashbanged
its not even the "polish" for me, it just reminds me too much of the like, engineers or w/e theyre called from the modern Alien films and otherwise I like the native 'decor' of the other two habs' empty walls

Old one goes over the part limit with it's windows, the new one only approaches the limit due to stuff clipped inside each other like reactors in the wings etc, plus tinier details

Personally, I expect the regular ships to be buffed so they remain relevant at some point within the next year. It just seems like a common sense thing for NMS to do.
im a bit embarassed to show the back but i did find a neat "trick" for the big thrusters putting them side by side. I was really struggling with that until i realized i could snap them to habs outside the ship, rather than try to snap them to each other.

the bottom most thruster can be where your cockpit + the landing bay which is a lift + 1 small walkway with a single mag landing gear

to whomever was building an ASTERO from EVE Online, Mitey took up the challenge! Coupe things botheirng me tho. From the cockpit the first set of wings is a great width I think.. but then further back it gets wider. I THINK I have extended enough to try and do vertical wings.. but the wider in the back part I think I gotta fix. of course feedback and thoughts are welcomed!

For me I like the roleplay of being in the "actual cockpit" but most builds that forgo first person cockpits are incredible looking
@blissful gorge this was one of the mid construction pictures for my spinal railgun, the entire thing is supported by just that area, its piloted from the bottom and there is enough space in the walkway to squeeze a refiner and mission counter + stairs in there.

i like the use of those v engine looking cylinders, in most situations that part looks awful but this build makes perfect use of it
my new favorite part is this cargo pod but the glitching you have to do to get them to face the right way is tedious lol
i mean its the only way to rotate some things, and the parts look so cool its a shame not to use them to their full potential
once you get a decent corvette editing settlement set up its not bad. my current one kind of sucks because the build area overlap is kind of tight

Do you want something pretty or functional? Think of a theme and stick to it.

ill say trying to min-max stats is largely pointless, its hard to make a corvette not op. go for an aesthetic and replicate it while making it useful. Dont spam habs, only need them for getting in and out of your ship
there are a couple of flying pirate ships or something similar that probably fits the bill. Also saw someone with a flying palace
making open interiors is hard and needs glitch building for the best results generally
but if you want open interiors, you probably want to use hatches to access them from habs
hold on gonna build something for example can copy from image i brb making home base design i think of over 1k diffirents design and u said home base corvette done deal i got u give me few mins
you can technically build habless, i kind of want to try it at some point, since cockpits and hatches are open

they are ugly, and if you put them next to each other its not open it makes all these shitty passageways

I have nothing against glitch builds and if anything I applaud the ingenuity but what if I want to make something without having to rely on something like glitches and off-setting
Idk i didnt realize i was glitch building for a while because i had done it on accident so many times
A little bit of glitching is fine. It's the heavily modded ones that I find bothersome. Especially those huge ships well over the 100 limit entering the anomaly.

its like flags but u have to walk around outside of ship to place in decor left right d pad to large it or make it small
i do tend to make defender class home base ships
oh no i know HOW to place them, but its finding the right spot to put them lol everyone elses placement just makes so much sense
like i want it to resemble how actual sailboats sails are positioned so it makes more sense
struggling with it i usually make jets lol but i learned you can upload ships to share with people so im making a buddy a pirate ship i guess.
