its meant to be sort of like a repurposed navy ASR type boat with aft wheelhouse. civilian owned and still used for salvage and recovery, and also equipped for fishing excursions to various deep water worlds, archeological expeditions, towing and freight hauling, and used for hauling oversized ship parts to and from repair sites on larger frigates and freighters.

Some parts have special snap-points. With them its possible to place parts overlapping. You just have to be careful that you don't block the inner ways of your ship and you'll need a lot of try and error. Check on youtube for overlap building. Its better to see it than just to read it

@dawn meteor I used a combination of wonder projectors and the upscale glitch which allowed me to make the skull and projectors massive. It combines two glitches, the base adjacency and wire adjacency glitch I believe.

Also some of the basic corvette glitch building tricks. Such as the window trick for the wings.

I picked the ugly ambassador cockpit as I’m an ego only VR player and it’s the least visually restricted by far, that’s also the reason for lots of windows because in VR I look out of them quite often. I’m still not that satisfied with the front side aesthetics I may rework the front soon.

Look for a planet that has salvage in its listed resources. Then look for golden cache. Come with a lot of storage space and unearth until at capacity. Trade in what you don't want.

omgsh I finally got mine in. Either the walkway behind it wasn't rotated properly, or I needed side habs rotated differently until it finally snapped in the correct orientation. (forgot image, just a moment)

doesn't even look impossible but it was for some reason.

There's a one fossil limit per ship sadly, the skull I'm using in the picture is actually the base decoration from one of the expeditions "the skull of the ocean king" . I used a combination of glitches to significantly upscale it past the original intended size.

There's 6 different holograms on the 3rd picture. I was trying to recreate a nautiloid from spelljammers or bg3. I used a combination of flora and fauna I found. The tentacles monster and seaweed on the nose. Some big water lung thing and glowing plates. A squid jellyfish and a rolly polly for the snail shell.

At some point some habs became buggy, I ended up spacewalking while walking (yes, INSIDE the corvette) and getting base out of range errors left and right.
