MOD GLITCH using base parts: I don't know if this is known or new, but if you build a Deepwater Chamber, and apply an angled window, it pops out the window entirely and you can walk/build through the (now) open window. I'm doing this all in the corvette building area on the station. [sorta belongs in base building, sorta here]

@fathom radish nice designe, and quick tip, you dont really need the shields, you can actually dont have them, cuz whit the just one A grade shield module, its enough to overpower those shield pieces. so you can enhace your corvette stetics. ^_^`

I had a full-on crash-out earlier... warped into a system with my vette, got into a dreadnaught fight... I literally failed the fight because every 5 seconds my ship was flipping and spinning out of control... Like, what is the point of the vette if you can't fight with it or even have it spawned when you want to teleport....

For Pvp its not worth the effort since using save editors and mods is allowed.

i tend to see that the speed and the corvette movements dont seem to catch up with the pirates fast enough, thus my question
I'm pretty confident pirates kinda just cheat, at least with how quickly they can change speed/direction
its just to make up for the fact that in terms of raw damage/health you will obliterate them

You can just cheese pirate AI anyway, if you put your ship in reverse in a straight line they'll attempt to pursue and line up shots... putting themselves right in your crosshairs.

Yeah it turned out nice - shame once I started decorating inside it started giving me the Modules error and I couldn't add any more corvette parts.

I have a 4090 so it's difficult for me to make any corvette that's laggy but id like my stuff to be safe for most other players for when the fix all the corvette multiplayer issues so I can turn on multiplayer again

you can just go to the terminal and start building a fresh one, and when you finalise, just add it to collection and not swap it for current

I'm kinda at an impass with my Republic Attack Cruiser design. Gotta somehow bring the pointed bow in for the hangar bays, then jut back out for the rear section of the ship. Bridge design isn't hard, at least.

It's very early in the design. I got the skeleton of the bow in-progress and have the outer-most frame being built. I also completely forgot to make a keel so I pretty much have to redo all that anyways to raise everything up a level.

how does the built in living wall work i cant interact with it in any way
guys. how do the guns and turrets function? if i place first 6 photon cannon turrets and then 4 deadeye cannons, will the positron ejector come out of the 6 photon cannon turrets or from the 4 deadeye cannons?
I figured out that by placing flowers and stuff like Gravatino Balls and Gek frognip or whatever it is into the living wall flower pots (two per living wall) and it becomes a farm able resource

Those items will be found I believe in your construction panel. Essentially most base building items can be used on the interior of your Corvette.

Have you unlocked the blueprints in the space anomaly? It could be that you haven't unlocked the ability to build those yet
Wall mounted objects like the multitool display can be a little funky to place but I did manage to successfully place a med kit and haz resupply items on my corvette inner walls by the bay door

Q... how does internal stuff cause problems? My corvette has over 100 parts using the window glitch (add windows after the main build from inside). The inside is being pimped out... but I am conscious that you can see the stuff inside from outside... so there must be a limit to stuff before problems start?

Buggin says "all parts must be connected" they are..... And many of my successful trades are like scam. They get my stuff and i get nothing I lost soooo many parts like this. Is this like a scam opportunity feature on the trade? Also if i restart the new modifications it also resets my corvette but still says all parts must be connected.... Seen on reddit many players have the same issue and you are losing players. This also pushes me to the edge of quitting but i dont wanna cuz you cooking guys! Cook up this mess!
The scam thing is a glitch, I just set crafting to free and place the part I got scammed from and turn free crafting off again, also devs aren't in this server best way to get their attention is through zendesk, type !hg in #bot-spam to get a link to their bug reporting page

Man, I hope they give us more Cockpits sooner rather than later. Only one I don't mind is Thunderbird, Titan I constantly bump into the edges while trying to get in the cockpit since it has those angled walls, and Ambassador doesn't really work with my build since it hangs super low.
Also, better ladders and stairways.

Class is pretty important, yeah. But as for how many guns? Just one. Pick your favorite? I went with photon cannon because we can't remove it anyway. There's so much stuff to put in Corvette tech slots that even with just one weapon I ended up running out of slots

I think it's far better to boost a few select systems up to extreme degrees than to try to do a little bit of everything and not have any of them be truly great

You can now apply paints from decor objects onto your ship. Those objects have a completely separate color palette. Brighter colors for the most part.

You can flip it to be in front or in back by default. Other rotations require really complicated stuff and will just make you unhappy

Yes, two habs side by side. Doesn't affect flying in any meaningful way. It does mean my view is slightly offset but you'd only ever notice that when going in for landing. Especially at the anomaly with their small circles
You could still put the cockpit in the center of course. But I wanted the beam-up pad to be beneath my landing bay

I don't think I really want a landing pad, I'd just like the ship to appear above my base and the beam-up pad to be somewhere that I can control
speaking of markers, being able to build the kind that the buildings have for normal starships would also be great as a "hidden" landing pad
I never actually land when I pilot the ship myself, so it would make more sense for the ship to be waiting above when I teleport too

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, but you can decide where in relation to your ship the beam-up pad will appear while you're building your corvette. The cross marks the spot
that answers my main question "can you control where the warp pad ends up"
This means mine appear straight below the landing bay, as an example:
I don't know how far you can offset it, but it certainly doesn't appear beneath center mass or anything like that

It's not a perfect cube. Gotta think of it like a 3D + kinda. The edge may be closer in near the bottom and top than the center.

I updated the starship speed test with Corvette data. I crafted and upgraded the vette with best X-class mods I had and the results are in:
In atmospheric flight at sea level the speedometer shows speeds above 3000 u/s (boosted + power to engines), but the measured speed comes down to only 257 u/s. The acceleration is also slower and movement sluggish even at maneuverability of 5000~6000. Overall feel and performance is comparable to average Haulers, except Corvettes have extra upgrades available.
In space the boosted speed can go up to 6000+ u/s and is probably close to true speed, which would make fully upgraded Corvettes fastest starships in space flight.
I can't link to spreadsheet with full measurement data or Reddit post with more detailed info because weird auto-mod deletes my post, so you'll just have take my word for it, I guess. 🤷

Actually, this thing is ridiculous, and if you get close, you'll see that the cabin is all buggy and parts don't connect as if the mesh had been poorly made. I also think that the cabin dome could have been better resized to connect to the edges. I think I can make this model in Blender without any major problems, I just need a sample of a chassis module

Man one of the things I noticed if you save a freighter from pirates and you board it with your Corvette, they won't reward you, you only get an option to make an offer on their freighter.

Beyond Bases mod allows you to use base building parts with corvettes
just gotta remember base parts have a smaller "block" size than corvette parts

You have parts sticking thru your hab
The modules are supposed to shape the ship however you want. If there is something apparently “invisible” obstructing or blocking a functional part of the design; a door, it's a glitch. According to the code, logic or physics of the game, the character should fit through that space, but the game won't let you enter. Basically, they're forcing you to do something else.

how did you manage?
For now i'd say just dont put a hab there/use another doorway
@cosmic pelican there's nothing invisible blocking your doorway you put a ship part ontop of a hab and it's glitching through abit blocking the entryway that hab would mostly be useless anyway with a chunk of ship taking up a good chunk of space easy solution either don't put a hab there or don't use that specific piece
I’ve encountered that before and the problem is that some of the parts you used were clipping through where you walk through just delete the parts blocking your way and it’ll be fixed

Sorry is this has been frequently asked but can someone explain to me how to manoeuvre the Arcadia Wing Module so that they are side by side, similar to the attached pic? I’ve worked the glitch to flip it, but clearly a trick is needed to ensure that they are side by side and not separated by a hab in the middle
like the img above, I think it's 2 glitches, the offset one and then using the propeller part to move it behind so you can position

has anyone made any cool vertical ship yet?
Its a build piece for vettes. It gives vettes cargo room. If you are not maxed. It tells you this when try to install. Habs give 3 cargo, and that pieces gives 1 I believe. Most cargo pieces aren't used for cargo but just looks because cargo gets maxed out with habs usually.

well... "big" room. it's gonna be 6 habs next to each other. 3 long habs per row. there will be the walls in the middle but it is what it is

When you buy a PC, play NMS on PC, and download the mod to build freighter parts on corvettes. Outside of that, who knows.
But I want a wide hab without dividing walls

You gotta remember that how you build freighters came first. You added squares to your freighter then decided where the doors went. You linked habs and could build big, open spaces. They purposely didn't copy paste that code. They made a choice for that kind of building to not be a thing in corvettes. They may change it later. Who knows. Most of the corvettes I run into at the anomaly are mostly empty space anyway. 🤷
I was actually kinda hoping for more fleet size variety, just because capital class freighters are HUGE compared to frigates. Would be neat to be able to buy like... standard size freighters as supplementary craft for capital-headed fleets. Though that might overcomplicate the expedition system.

Pilotable corvettes with traversable interiors absolutely fulfill another wish I've had for NMS tho

Never got even close to the limit myself but you can probably save the design without applying it. Then download a mod that removes the limit entirely. That should let you apply the changes and use your ship
some people put accessways facing inside and then use the space that 2 habs take up as a room without the habs there... hard to describe it im bad at words

so place your habs in your ship as you normally would, and build your ship. then DELETE those interior habs and there should be a big empty "room" where the habs would be. after that youll just need to choose where you place your entryways/cockpits

@peak yacht Point is, just make an exit out of your corvette (like stairs or landing bays) into an enclosed area, as you can see in Grief's picture. Then you can fill that space using any appropriate corvette parts or with base parts if you have the mod for it

You need the front of a hab to place it, but you can delete the hab and it will still count as connected so long as the cockpit is sitting on something

i haven't logged in for several months now, so sorry in advance if someone already asked this: has anyone experienced corvette tech layout components to shift around when summoning between multiple corvettes? it's not a deal-breaker, just annoying since I have to fix the positioning each time it happens.

I like an “all around” weapon and don’t care to switch weapons so I just keep photon cannon tbh.
Cyclotron looks pretty though. Sometimes I use that just for that reason.
You know full well I'll be switching my phase beams for the cyclotron weapons when hg releases them

They're all good but currently you can't remove the photon cannon so I just went all in on upgrading it instead. It's a good all-rounder anyway.

I’ve been having a glitch where only one of my rockhopper wing module’s jets lights up when landing
FRNN Skylight, designed to be like the skyship from XCOM, but in spaaaaaaaceeeee. I know that I could have done BETTER on it, but I can''t find an actual reference image for the XCOM skyship. the blue and gold is as close as i could get. I think the biggest issue I have is the crew habitation is... messy to work with. the build limit is particularly limiting, no pun intended there.

also, just tried to copyt a refiner unit from the thunder bird to the titan, and the moment i place it down, it swapped to the hab's style

Hey all, I had an unintentional glitch in my glitch-heavy build that gave me a "glass" floor. 😮 I took a screenshot and tried to avoid editing the area to not lose it, but somehow, I still did.
Can anyone understand what's happening in the image so I can recreate it? I really wanted to keep this. 😢
To confirm what I think I already know, these are Ambassador habs and/or walkways, under the space we're peering into is the bottom rear of a Vesper Cowling point towards me, so it's half under that section and half under where I'm standing. There's a Longshore Cowling behind it but we barely see it as something is on top of it and either glitching though the hab/walkway or, the hab/walkway isn't even there? Ceiling looks open too. At the far end of the transparent floor there should be an Industrial Joint.

that's what i'm trying to do but the thing is... i absolutely love the upper deck/bridge and the engines in the back. what i do not like is just the lower deck. basically the whole front and middle of the ship
and since i'm trying to make it also be a fully functional and walkable big battlecruiser, it just gets more and more annoying

Ideally I think you really should just mess around, imagining the needs and functions of the ship to know what to add. Hopefully you get some answers as you wish, but of course, there are tons of pictures in relevant channels as well as reddit. Do keep looking around. 🙂

If you can access the file directories to add and upload a mod files and needed MODS folder, i don't see why not. but that i know, you can't do that on console

If you go over to the console next to the quicksilver guy in the anolmy you should see an option to transfer your corvette over to your main save if you started the expedition from said console in your main save not the main menu

Been trying to upgrade my favorite corvette design raised it to S class just bought my first cargo slot man 75 million for one tech slot that's a bit pricey these must be the same folks that charge the US military 10000 bucks for a 🔨.
That method is just for people who have too much units. You can add slots for "free" by gathering storage augmentations and applying those instead
That would be me. I spent more than a B and a few hundred thousand nanites fully upgrading my Corv. It's nice to finally have a decent, worthy money sink in this game.
I don't think you can avoid the nanite cost for class upgrades. I was replying to the comment about spending millions on slots.
Though it sounds like you overpaid somehow. A full upgrade to S-class should only have been 85k nanites!
I wasn't paying that much attention. I know it was a lot, because now I don't have a lot. XD Which means I'll have to commit more crimes soon.
Just to be clear, nanites and units are two different currencies, used to buy different things.

I have done an unspeakable thing to my flying home. I am now kind of curious what repercussions this can actually lead to.
I've already determined that a Pilgrim works on the station. And is the second best way to traverse the long hangar besides the teleporters. :P
Hey all, I had an unintentional glitch in my glitch-heavy build that gave me a "glass" floor. 😮 I took a screenshot and tried to avoid editing the area to not lose it, but somehow, I still did.
Can anyone understand what's happening in the image so I can recreate it? I really wanted to keep this. 😢
Anyone recognize and can tell me what all the parts are and how they're laid out?
To confirm what I think I already know, these are Ambassador habs and/or walkways, under the space we're peering into is the bottom rear of a Vesper Cowling point towards me, so it's half under that section and half under where I'm standing. There's a Longshore Cowling behind it but we barely see it as something is on top of it and either glitching though the hab/walkway or, the hab/walkway isn't even there? Ceiling looks open too. At the far end of the transparent floor there should be an Industrial Joint.

I can't say for certain, but Ambassador hab parts have a tendency to have parts of them disappear, specifically the entrance arches. What you have seems to be an inversion, everything but the arches (and the side panels that cover the walls) is gone.

I have no idea, that's the first time I see it. Nominally it's a bug, it doesn't really have practical purposes.
It's just some issue with the ambassador habs, that's why I generally avoid them. Maybe see if occupying the various attach slots around the habs with specific parts does it.
It's SO practical; more room, observation floor, it's awesome. We definitely have to find out how to make it happen at will, haha.
yeah I was deinifelty putting a lot of random parts around it to force glitching on other parts.... we'll see, thanks.
@hexed thicketnot what I want but I just caused a door disappearing glitch/bug with the Ambassador habs. Putting a large refiner in the doorway removed the doorway from (apparently) ALL Ambassador habs on the ship.
Just FYI in case you were interested.
I'd say this is definitely not a good glitch. 🙁
Floor seams between habs are also gone.
Warning there is a high chance you can corrupt your save if you enter the anomaly in that, even if you delete the geobay!
Use any other ship for the anomaly
Thanks for the warning, but I actually already tried the anomaly out. The Pilgrim is quite capable of clearing the gaps between the landing platforms, it turns out. So far, no consequences.
I do play with network features turned off though. Maybe that's a factor.

There are many on YouTube, you can also experiment on a creative save where modules are free
You can also experiment by turning the crafting free for a short while. Since the modules don't get physically refunded when you remove them with that in play, you can just strip your experiment down to the essentials before turning crafting back to normal.
I think it's also important to note, that the "goodness" of a corvette is subjective, and you can no more learn to "make good corvettes" than you can learn to "draw well" by watching a tutorial. It's all down to trying and failing repeatedly until you have something you're satisfied with.

First person is an ongoing issue with no reliable fix, third person can be fixed by reloading restore point

in my experience it happens mostly in first person.. try third and see if it atleast lets you hit accurately

Yes. Generation change . HG rerolled the animals so older ones goes extinct.
Couldn't find a decent way to install a reactor, landing gear and thruster in my Gek Junker, while maintaining the model right. So, now I'm hauling around a reactor in a box. Viable?
