does anyones corvette still feel like its handling slower than a normal starship even with like 2-3k maneuverability
So everything is actually installed as tech now?

You can install a 3rd cannon for another tech piece, but the visuals won't actually make all 3 of your weapons fire at once

Corvettes are going to be inherently slower and bulkier feeling because they actually are larger ships. Think about how small your normal ship is with it's single cockpit and no other extra room, and then think about the corvette with its literal hallways of space and possible internal staircases
the 2nd floor of mine has all 10 containers
cuz after realizing they dont show up on the inventory like freighters do, i kinda just wanna get rid of em all lol

yeah but I usually just end up summoning my freighter anyways cuz being able to access everything in one tab is so much more convenient for me
If you install single-barrel weapons like the rocket pods, you can actually get up to 4 different beams firing from your ship, but that depends on how you want it to look and whether you care about the extra tech from the installed corvette part
but why not photon cannons tooo ;-;

Notice how you already have 3 S-class photon cannon and 2 corvette part tech as well
I meant that the S-class mods you can purchase and install do not conflict with the tech from the corvette parts and you can have 3 of each without overloading the tech
I'd put a 3rd cannon but tbh my corvette is running out of exterior space ๐ญ
So you can have a 3rd corvette part tech, but it won't work visually

They're already big even if you have only base required parts, so it's not hard to get bigger ๐
wish I could make a corvette using all the parts in the game, save it as a blueprint, and then have the game provide me with a list of all the parts I used so I can go and get them
so much better than like, winging it with parts you may or may not have I guess

Build the ship and save it. Put all extra parts in storage cache. Then strip it of all the parts and they will go into your inventory and you will have your list of parts.
Unless you meant the game allowing you to 'preview build' before having the parts

Only downside is it requires you to strip your ship to get the parts list, so if you actually wanted it built then you gotta redo it cuz the game saves a restore point when you finalize corvette builds
I wish it would only autosave instead
But if you build the ship at first in a creative save, then it's totally an easy work around

This happened to me, warped out into a dreadnought battle to discover all of my actual corvette parts gone, including weapons. Highly confusing bugs.
Has anyone experienced a bug where your Corvette gets converted into a different type of regular ship? Itโs happened a few times when using my second Corvette build and then summoning my freighter. Very strange.

oh yeah im sure theyll get polished out. Its a big big updated there was bound to be bugs. im glad theyre taking their time so that we can find more bugs and knock em all out or at least get them acknowledged
I cannot emphasize enough how important it is for the developers to fix whatever bug has caused my corvette to simply be deleted.
200 hours of ship tech and tons of design hours, and it's just gone. I love the game but I am so upset about this.

yeah im sure enough people have mentioned it for it to be something thats taken care of soon. definitely just load a save as soon as something is wonky
one time i landed on my frieghter and poof. lost a corvette i was sent into space floating by the freighter

I don't know when it went missing, but I haven't been making manual saves locally. I spent the last day or two just using portals between settlements and base building.
Is there a reliable way to grab an older save?

Yes probably, I'm not getting it back. I'm just adding more noise for the team to see yet another year one buyer upset about losing their progress due to this bug.
It happened on my second save file and fixed itself like a day later. My first save file is still unplayable right now, corvette and everything in it just vanished when I summoned it, like 9 days ago
if im honest with you im playing in creative til the bugs are ironed out
So...... just did a load of parrts trading, and whilst my offers were accepted, the parts actually never appeared.
A quick google says that its a known bug, and that they are gone for good, along with the parts I gave up.
Posting this here unless anybody knows of a way to get them back (go back a save, look elsewhere for the parts etc)
If your exosuit inventory is full, the parts (used to) not register as being traded for. At least, that's what happened to me when the update first dropped.
Was working on a dropship design before work. Was having some issues with the bay door designs, but hopefully what I decided on will look good.

Is the stats good enough??? From what i see is that the parts stats are cap. You only need around like 3 jet engines to make it cap no matter the tiers. Even rarer tier don't boost the stats that much.
I've seen this issue reported multiple times and it seems to be related to multiplayer. I suggest anyone with a corvette they care about not use it with multiplayer enabled until this is fixed

@thorn isle seems to be an issue with ships between players getting swapped. You didn't get THE starter ship, you got someone else's starter ship
And it's possible they have your corvette now

That person was in a.. whats it called. Starsomething phoenix. The one that hovers.
It dissapeared after I summoned my freighter, then boom. Start ship.
It may have not been the person closest to you, just anyone in the system or anomaly
Corvettes are insanely bugged in multiplayer right now
Also there's no fix for this unless you have an older save to load
To anyone reading this: if you care about your corvette, turn off multiplayer until this is fixed

Also avoid summoning your freighter when using a corvette as that seems to have issues even with multiplayer off

Some planets have salvage beacons with yellow markers, spend half an hour teleporting down from your corvette to grab them and you should end with a cargo container full of parts

So how does corvette design affect manouvrebility?
Changing wing layout affects the value, but i cant seem to figure out how and why it does
Different wing and other parts have different % values that change the different stats. I havent messed with wings much, but the heavier it gets hte less manueverable they seem to get.
Is there a place those values are shown?

I think I've reached the point of ship building where every new design idea automatically starts with the hab glitch in case I want to flip parts. Just have a doubled-up hab off to the side at all times.

Yea, try to isolate that HAB from anything that touches it and see if it persists

Mine always tend to break connected HABs and doorways on the inside
and this is outside of the 1st one i sent and where the whole on inside is
so its a different part on this side causing it if its the part i will remove them to see

i wonder if taking the walkway out and putting it back will fix it because its not a hab its the half hab that are called a walkway

Just an FYI if you find those exotic items you can keep and display them at your base don't ever put them on your corvette they won't come off lol
really wish i could figure out what is doing this i like this ship i made its the 2nd version of it the 1st one had no holes and its the same design i just changed some things on the top and the enterance to the ship

you know with all the part farming i have done there is still a few parts i have only ever gotten 1 of and there is one i want a second one of but im being cheap and dont want to trade for it are some parts just more rare ?

Either a new game in creative mode or customize whatever mode you're on. You can make various specific aspects easier or harder.

200 is a pretty small number, certainly not enough to be guaranteed to get all parts

@sinful fulcrum You could be a stickler for playing the mode you're on as intended but regardless if you are or not, take a look at the settings! Always good to know.

You can get a few parts per minute once you get the rhythm going and have a ballista equipped
I have a video on youtube of how to do it, but basically you can place your ship super far back and based on the density of parts on the left right or forward sections you can manipulate how far the offset becomes to a rediculous degree. this is my current gradient, I am just creating iteration after iteration to get the perfect one for my thruster design and to use as a basis for all future ships by copying the ship in my save editor once I have a template ship.
It's hard to create something of your own when you don't have all the details to see how it looks.

With those numbers you would have a decent chance of having at least one of each, but random drops are just never guaranteed

yeah and i noticed my guess was way off i did not know i farmed so many but i started using the easy way to farm scan from the corvette and shoot it with your ship

By the way, the % chance to trade is nonsense. They sometimes get accepted and sometimes not

Also when renaming a ship you have to use a save editor since the autogenerated name will always show up in the cockpit otherwise and my method stacks with hab rotation and also rockwing offsets as well.

Your trick causes the name sticking? Otherwise normally a game restart was enough for me.
I will make a much better video once I have some more useful test info. I already can make even offsets on both sides, so that alone should be enough to make a better video on.
Why does my corvette no show up after I copy it
I just wanted to get the concept out there so people smarter than me can have at it and test it more
i fixed the holes i was using the titan walk way i changed them to the thunderbird and no more holes
When I had started this one I was going for more of a space station/orbiter kind of vibe, but as I progressed (read: ran into complexity limit) I ended up going more of a bounty hunter/pirate sort of style
so i change out all the titan class walkways to thunderbird and ambassador and all the holes got fixed so is it just a bug with the titan class walkway
new curve and the gaps are shrinking
Wanting to build something with this style going for it, but it is super difficult
i made a star trek like ship
it has to be remade because i ran in to the same bug i was with my other ship that i might have just learned how to fix
its interesting i will say that i do like the red and white
if you didnt see it above this is my main one its MK2 version

Idk ive been building a ship with a hull mostly made of deco parts and it hasnt had parts linger at all

Am currently working on turning this into a corvette and holy hell making big smooth wings is night impossible (I know offset building exists but I want to resort to using as little glitches as possible)
red part of wings look like the radiators, yeah. dunno how to rotate them tho. could easily clip some other parts over them i think tho
the view from the back it looks like a crab is why i like it more from the back lol
love the way those boosters attach

umm let me look what parts i used to attach them like that
Heres an example of a build I did. You can see the lights are stuck to the side of the ship in the hangar, but after taking off they completely disappear from the rear. There are also 2 missing parts on the upper ring/
i've managed something similar but couldn't quite get my goal result
it was the hull linkage part i used
i dont get why my crab ship or metagross is higher manoeuvrability than my other ship almost everything for manoeuvrability is the same on each of them
i try to apply color to all corvette parts, but when i apply modification, its reset again to original color
i've no idea how ship stats work and every video i watch is just "pay for ship upgrades"

like everything is better on my second ship except shields but they are almost the same shields to
would really like to know what effects the ships stats the most because almost everything is the same on both for boosters and shields and stuff

For now it's better if you farm echo for storage slots

besides mods for ships do you understand how just building them effects the stats because that is my second ship and for some reason its stats are better than my 1st one and i used most the same stuff
use em and when you find a camp make sure you get those wheelbarrows around they sometimes give ship or weapon slots depends on your luck but most of the time they give three

could be from the placement of techslots, when you build the placement of techslots gets rearrange whenever you move parts and attached it to other places if I understand it right

also do it more in a square pattern than a line so that theyre more adjacent to each other

this might be the final design, I dig the antennas
my other ship has more inventory space its the one i got from the expedition and i think that is why its 75 millions for an upgrade

how many can you still put
So after I built my ship, I added some lights using the base builder z, but they disappeared unless I view ship with tab.. so I can't delete them.. but they show up randomly
just a few parts here and there and it's gonna be thicc
yeah this expedition gives a lot of storage not just for the corvette but for the player as well this is a new character this is my storage
when you remove the part on ship builder it also removes the things you attached to it that might remove things that you can't get have that problem a lot

one thing i noticed if you build the cargo things in your ship and you are scaned by space police they dont see that stuff because i have geknip in one and everytime i am scan they find nothing
There's a split second when approaching a staircase from behind where the game believes you're outside the ship.
Normally doesn't affect the game much. But at pulse speed...
they only find it if it's on your own inventory, as well as cargo on ordinary ships it seems corvette is different

It doesn't happen if you approach the staircase from the "correct" side. That is, the side where the base of the stairs is facing you. So it almost never happens when going toward the stairs from the lower floor.
If you approach from the upstairs level, however, you can drop down from the back side of the stairs instead of walking down. The game reads you as not being in the ship during that moment, which is why it auto jetpacks.
I HATE this "base out of range" object shrinking bug... IT RUINS EVERYTHING

Yes it does. THese decals and lights on my ship are beyond the normal building limits. Decreasing the size does cause the object's interaction with the sphere of the corvette's bounds to shrink, but by deductive logic, it also causes it to grow if the object grows. Which is why I was able to place them there.
I really want regular letters so I can put a name on the side of my ship.
And maybe some pin-up art.

There's a setting somewhere to make steering follow the cursor rather than be directly mapped to mouse movement. Maybe that would help?
1700-2200 is the sweet spot, even less for usual ships
above than is only useable for dogfighting

Just one is plenty to get started. The sooner you have a corvette the sooner you can get parts farming easily. It's way quicker with a corvette than a regular ship

These were inspired by hard sci fi but strayed from the ultra realism aspect in the end
Elongated with lots of radio dish, antenna, and the spherical and cylindrical storage units.
I haven't gotten far enough to make corvettes in NMS yet, but I tried to make a hard sci-fi ship (with big radiators) in Starfield 2 years ago.
I really like the engine housing on this one, so I think I'll play with it some more and try to move into more realism for it

@fresh ocean Those propellers can snap on a half unit position on ONE side of a hab. Use that to set up other pieces to give you a new reference. Allows more pieces to blend into each other too.

Okay, to not overload you with info... you should upgrade your ship and buy all the slots you can because it makes the next part easier... if you look at the equipment in the top slots you'll see they're either outlined in a color or nothing.
The idea is to put like with like so you keep all the squares of a certain color together. If an item doesn't have a colored outline, it may be just be in the wrong area. You just fiddle with the placement until you get as many squares outlined that you can.
THEN
As you buy your equipment upgrades and you shuffle the blocks all over again, keeping like colors with like. It's not hard but it can take a little finagling to get it all in.
With the supercharge slots, you just put in the thing which boosts your numbers the best. You just plug in different things and look at your numbers until you're satisfied.

If you only have one landing gear and delete it at the same time as you press finalize build you wonโt have any landing gears (ship still lands)
Why land when you can just jump out and jetpack back in, saves launch fuel, and removes the need for all launch thruster upgrades

No, you certainly don't have to get out of your ship if you have a corvette. Just stand up, scan and sit back down again. You can also loot the salvage without getting out. But that's something all ships can do, not just corvettes.
I cannot get this "circle" completed with a round shield generator in the middle. Anyone have any ideas? It just won't snap into place even in red, so i can't flick it in. I've tried habs surrouniding in various positions, partly as seen here, but nothing works. If I remove the shield module, then it's that that i wont be able to place.

Saving a lot is not the same as making backups. The game only keeps your last autosave and your last restore point. You need separate backups if you want to be sure you always have something to roll back to.

Obtain a basic corvette. Strap a cyclotron ballista onto it with some minimal upgrades. Go to a world with salvage. Get out of your seat (turn on first person if you haven't to skip animations), scan for salvage. Fly to salvage and shoot with ballista. Repeat.

yesterday i was building in creative and was able to place the ambassador wing but i switched to suvival and rebuild that ship but can't place it there anymore. I probably did some offset glitch by mistake. Anyone knows how to repeat that?

It's a 2*1 piece item, I think you'd need to do some sort of half-tile glitch to get it to fit behind that cannon
It is likely that you didn't have the cannon last time you placed it
Every computer user should be running backups, so just use your backup program. ๐
I've really liked FreeFileSync for years. I usually prefer to run them manually so I can make sure there's nothing weird with what's being backed up or not , but you can also save the jobs as batch files, so you can run them silently anytime from double clicking its icon or a shortcut you might make for it.

You have to flip it and attach it to the other side of that hab, then move the hab half a tile. Then attach ambassador wing. Move the hab back and remove the rockhoppers

I'm wondering if it's A: Any corvette after the first one on your ship list, or 2: if it's due to having it as the active ship when logging off from multiplayer.

I think there's a glitch where you can end up with another person's ship and they get yours due to a bug

Hey, not sure if anyone else realised now. But the new "Apply to entire Corvette" button for color works even when you have something else entirely selected. Such as plastic decor that you can color in much brighter shades:
haven't tried that yet. Does it colour all your interior stuff too?
Yes, it does color everything which is awful, but it is also useful for getting access to paints not normally allowed

Question, does anyone know when an update to fix corvettes is gonna happen? My friend and I have had problems with the missions being bugged when launched from the corvette, and we had our ship designs delete themselves, they gave us new ones that arenโt anything weโve designed before and got rid of all of our resources
You can keep an eye out on #nms-news-ticker to see what the devs are posting about the game. Elsewhere too but I find that this gives an easy overview of things

Add a torpedo to cowl just above the satellite dish. Makes it look like the entire thing is launcher.
Is it worth taking this S class freighter even though itโs not got many available slots.
You can always upgrade slots later, class and shape are permanent

glitch building is hard
It's manageable, unless you combine the 2x hab and the offset glitch together. Then it gets rough. At least for me.
ah. Some like the clean look. It's solid design and looks natural. Not more to do with it without design changes really. I say start over with another.
The offset glitch comes naturally to me now, I barely even have to think about it, things just slot into place ๐

If I off set one of the engines it's either too far out or too far deep
is it worth having two refineries in the corvette? or its waste of resources
Which means ability to copy designs is there already. Need to expand on this to make blueprints and tradeable.
If you need two refineries, it's worth it. I've never needed two refineries at once.

They barely cost anything to make. You can just pop one down if you do end up needing it

i know beds are a thing, and yes you can put down a weapon shelf but it kinda looks out of place on some interiors
Yeah, it took some effort to find a good spot for my weapon racks
thats why i say there should be a module for it

the lower floor its 3 of the long rooms from left to right, behind there are 3 small rooms, ths without counting the small one located at the back for the ramp and the one in the front for the cockpit, and there is a second floor with a small and long one

They're animated too! IT's a pretty neat piece of decor. I flipped it upside down and fitted them onto the round part of the table

I wish we had more animated decor. Wouldn't want too much of it but it really adds a lot to have a least a little bit of movement

something that would be nice its to be able to add a small pannel on the sides of the modules so they dont look totally flat, some of the structural pieces have nice looking textures that i wish i could apply to top of some modules
