Final fit for the I.S.Vette (Independent Solar Corvette) Pillar of Autumn, whose namesake i stole yes from halo, but not the likeness otherwise

It has a total of 4 crew rooms, 2 basic bunks and 2 executive, an entire engineering bay with windows into the reactor room, and rooms for storage on the bottom deck. Also included are jump seats and a copilot station situated in front the mission board. two extra rooms were left over of which i made a hydroponics bay and sick area/med bay.

Did you find that when you rotate the sail, the base of the sail doesn't stay fixed. As in, it moves around, which makes it impossible to position it directly on the water towel AND have the sail facing the direction that you want. So I need to compromise one or the other. you can freeplace the wall sections (refiner,bed,mission screen thing etc) in your corvette when you're in build mode on foot. Then when you go back to the corvette workshop from the space station, habs will snap to the freeplaced wall section. So all it takes is some careful freeplacing to make sure it's somewhat symmetrical. Sorry i'm not using the right terminology for some of it, but i hope you understand.

Folks, I have a presentiment for you - This is the ship from the movie "Pitch Black", the first movie I ever bought on DVD. How would you design that? You'd need a central corridor going from the engine section to the bridge, certainly. Would each of those cargo sections be a double stack? You can see fuel/cargo pods towards the aft of the ship by the brakes. Any thoughts would be welcomed, because THIS is my next ship design.

That's what I was thinking, too. Or, even if not glitches, at least some of the more "nacelle" looking engines could fit the bill in terms of appearance.

The big question for me is how to link everything up. Maybe every OTHER cargo pod is a hab unit, that way there aren't just straight up corridors leading from one to the other.

Maybe you could have the hab units be surrounded on all sides by whatever structure block you want

Could give you the room to make the nose of the ship the size and shape you want

And I think it's still real possible to have this thing be trim. I've seen much longer ships at the anomaly.

I would hab the blue to red section double wide offset down the middle, leave a gap for the cargo pods where you could either attatch a storage unit to the outside or, if you dance going through the toils of perfect placement you could actually get 3 shield units lined up like that

Well if you are still taking suggestions on how to make this one, I would personally do the ship with Habs as the base for the white parts, with painted "reinforced hull links" as the cargo containers. Then use offset building to merge some scaffolding into the center of the containers to give them that boxed in look. For the engines probably offset some engines to give that x shape.
