can covettes have more maneuverability than regular ships?
regular ships have more maneuverability obv. but corvettes are not that heavy to pilot
depends on the maneuverability stats also
i want a ship with a lot of speed and maneuverability
Normal ships have far more capablity for mod upgrades then corvettes
I’ve been trying for days to get runaway mould so I can start upgrading my ships to be more maneuverable
Anything that looks like those is like peak maneuverability

sentinel ships have low starting maneuverability, just a high bonus range
and completely different style of handling that can't compare to other ships
They can hover but they aren’t I’ve heard solar is maneuverable but I haven’t flown one
yes in terms of maneuverability stat but their handling makes them way more maneuverable in practice
im the exact opposite I love those ships (tho I love my corvette more now lol)

for the actual manevuerability stat solar sails are fastest because of the vesper sail upgrade i believe
their specialty is that they turn fast while boosting, but turn ass without that
my only gripe is the diagonal parts can only be used horizontally. there's limited option for the side
no parts can smooth out the side hulls. so it's quite hard to make 3 stack of habs look good
is there a glitch to make parts rotate vertically? i want this part to stand vertical
to my knowledge there is not
also mirror mode, manual rotate for that angled wing

I think the max I have seen is 6 floors.

Not the best screenshots, but this is what ive got so far. 3 storeys inside, cockpit on 3rd floor. Considering how annoying the interior stairs are, something i found really useful was to add an accessway at the rear and fron of the 1st floor, but also an accessway on the 3rd floor at the rear. So you can jetpack straight up into the cockpit rather than clamber up internal stairs

Though anyone noticed a big in 3rd person where your weapon pqths dont line up with the reticle whilst flying? Also found sometimes that leaving a planet atmosphere, i somehow collide w the atmosphere like its a solid object (and ship spins like 5000 times in a second)

I ran it without windows for a bit, defo looked better. But i found the interior felt a bit claustrophobic without any windows. I liked the big windows by the cockpit, made it feel spacious inside

Are parts that got glitched during the first release going to stay glitched? I have a storage box and a half of parts I deleted after placing rotated, and they don't stack with parts rotated differently.
They are now usable in building, and will no longer be created

Okay what is the deal with corvet and jetpack, it's completly broken for me
like i made stairs to get out of the corvet with a small 'hatch" on top of it, and there is a satelite dish covering part of it
i was able to really easily get out by just standing on the first steps and jetpacking up
now the jetpack behavior is so broken that i can't even fly near the corvet

Made my first real corvette last night, and as cool as the whole thing is, I doubt I’ll be using it much. The interior habs feel too claustrophobic. Hope HG adds the ability to open it up more at some point. Looking forward to doing the expedition later on, tho

If your starship is only C-Class still, yes. Further class upgrades allow for further technology inventory upgrade limits, up to 60 total at S-Class

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but you can/should delete all ship parts that you can build with the base construction menu, like the windows for example. Then max out the 100 ship parts that you can only access from the ship construction menu. Once you have all the ship parts finalized, you can add the windows and stairs and everything else from the base construction menu. I've got like 115/100 ship parts installed. Only downside is you have to delete all the base parts if you want to make any changes to the ship parts

May be received from a Starship Outfitting Terminal from scrapping any starship. Higher class and hauler type starships are more likely to give them.
Obtained from Frigate expeditions as a rare reward.
Found at the Crashed Freighter sites.

Obtained from observatory sites.
In wheelbarrows of harmonic scrap found in Harmonic Camps.
Reward from the Mission Agent on Space Stations.
Free at Master status (and above) from some Explorer Guild Envoys.
the vtol landing thrusters was a bad idea lol
I could be mistaken, but I think the original cause of the item loss bug was related to every single rotation and orientation of a component having a different "id" in the game, so rotating a piece 90 degrees or flipping it upside down actually deletes the original and replaces it with a hidden rotated and/or flipped version, which is how some people end up with several non-stackable versions of the same part in their inventory. If this is the case then it might be tough (not impossible) to do it the way KSP does it.

I actually found that editing a placed part to its default orientation before deleting it keeps it from disappearing from the build menu entirely, because that's the only version of the part that's not hidden from the player

you mean how the pieces of the ship show up in the tech slots? I believe this is a balancing move to keep regular starships relevant still as they have higher amounts of tech slots free for upgrades
Well, overall, I just think there has to be some changes.
It kills any sort of creativity if you fuck up placing a piece, or want to add on some new stuff later, and it becomes this great big Herculean effort to go back and change the design.
From the way, I see things you have to go in knowing exactly what you want to do, and you better commit to something as soon as you finalized the design, otherwise good luck, trying to change it easily.
Take my thing for instance. Today, I want to go in and try making my ship taller, and just adding a third deck.
Since everything about, it is all set in stone now, this means I’m going to have to take the entire fucking thing apart, place a couple of walkways down to boost height, and then rebuild the entire goddamn thing over again. If this was any easier, it would be like Kerbal Space Program: you highlight the entirety of the ship, drag it up the screen a little bit, and then you can get at the underside.
It’s bullshit and I don’t know why I’m so mad about this.
Not sure about replaced, but there are a bunch of other parts like thrusters and cockpits that people have found in the game assets, so the variety of parts might be increased eventually

IIRC HG's engine is built in-house, this whole ship building thing might just be hacks on hacks on hacks, since it probably wasn't part of the original feature list. Maybe they'll optimize the implementation eventually. Reminds me of how trains weren't strictly possible in Fallout 3's engine, so the train we see is actually a hat put on a hidden NPC that jut runs around on a track, lol

The QOL change I hope they make is that the parts go back into your cache when you delete them instead of going into your exosuit inventory
The cache is just for parts that can't fit in your inventory. It honestly should just be to store parts in general.

You gotta get creative with the fairings and "winglet" thingies. If it won't attach where you want it to, build blocks to create mounting "nodes" then just delete them when you got it where you want
I put a few blocks to bring it out to the side, mounted the fairings to create a wing then deleted the blocks

Idk if it’s the vettes specific but idk what causes it, occasionally I’ll engage the whiplash engines and spin out. Warping or going fast in general. Think it’s a pulse drive issue could be wrong

I deleted parts of the ship, replaced the hatch, it would still stick. Respawning it after swapping to a different ship fixed it right up

Go do your difficulty settings in options and and change crafting to free. Then start building, no need to buy anything it just unlocks all parts and you have unlimited.

I have encountered quite an annoying bug. “All components must be connected” while trying to edit my corvette. I have tried almost everything to fix this issue. I’m stuck with the corvette I have build. It’s flyable and works. I just can’t make any edits or changes. Any solutions?

You must have their blueprint learned to build them, you can do that using Salvaged Data at the Space Anomaly's Construction Research Station

Currently, modify the corvette at a Corvette Workshop and remove the hab it is attached to (you can then reattach the hab and the window will be gone)

They are not automatically unlocked by that, unless you began your save with "unlock all blueprints" enabled

The zenith reactor adds hyperdrive cell efficiency and range, I have 2 both are set in a supercharged slot while my x and s upgrades both are giving over 200 rang increase

You could install a functional third, if you remove the cockpit first and put it back after (it counts as a reactor for some reason, and therefore towards the limit of 3 functional reactors)
It is bugged on certain hab types I believe, mainly Titan

Idk the actual numbers, just have tested their point to point times and they don't go any faster with boost stuff supercharged vs unsupercharged

All of my corvette modules seem to have fixed classes, I have never seen any variance in their classes
The first one i ever made was basic bought parts and ut was c class then traded for one still was c class after finalization

I think sentinel ships are on the slower side in space, but even still there's no variance in min-maxxing the boost stat from my short testing on it
