yep
this game looks so much fun...we know nothing about a release date besides 2024 right?
the team is smaller than I thought as well. Wonder if they’re going to bring more people on
Don’t hate on the shorties Zach
Its a scientific fact that tall coders are better at their job
yeah
It seems soon considering the heavy advertising though..
Murrayyyy
No Man's sky was only like 15 people iirc
yep and it grew to 30 ish, so hopefully they bring more people on to make this planet more diverse and with more depth in all areas
I would dare say (to the anger of many nms fans) to divert all attention away from NMS onto this game
But diverting attention wont make it for faster or would it? They know Sean is cookin up LNF they just patiently waiting, appetizing of NMS
i'm okay with this, i haven't seriously played nms in about 2 years
it just depends on scope and timeline, and I'm hoping for a fuller, richer experience right at launch (whenever that may be).
True
next tuesday
choozdyinnit
no U's day
ebby day me'sday
I just started playing nms, this would be devastating for me lmao.
But I would completely understand if that’s what they do.
Mb nx tudeyyy
replace that water with fire and then we’ll be 👌👌
my fire is ignited solid rocket fuel, cannot be extinguished 🙂
I will CO2 suppress it
bro, once ignited, it cannot be extinguished, no matter the retardant.
Even the vacuum of space has no effect 🙂
Maybe if u tossed a black hole at it but thats just speculation at this point.
Sounds like you didn't use enough
no, U didnt use enough.
shits still burnin
still
even now to this day
There is an ointment for that

well it's solid and burning, maybe drink some water?
that got me good
Imma start the fire!
hey everyone
yes, i will be climbing mountains and also going into deep caves
You will
i refuse to play this game ||until it is released||
Just because I’m on the LNF discord, doesn’t mean I’ll play it! Until it’s released. Then will. I suppose
i'll be honest, i don't go in for a lot of medeival content these days after getting burnt out on LOTR movies 20 years ago, but i will still play this game because of the studio
i've gotten about $400 value out of playing NMS with all the free updates they have put out over SEVEN years (unheard of for 99% of games), so i'm happy to pay just on that front
oh also i paid less than $18USD for the game:
I paid more than that, but still 900 hours was worth every penny
Well over a thousand hours on both pc and ps4, worth every penny (of buying it twice), this is the only game I know to have repetitively upgraded a noticeable graphics for every graphics update (over the many times theyve done so since 2016
Like the difference between playing NMS ps3, vs ps5 (in vr) id say
Yeah, which is why I will buy LNF. Even if it’s a mid game, HG earned my money and I would trust them to make it great
I want to stay in a sci-fi mood because I make 3D art and play sci Fi games for inspiration..but man.... I'm hyped for LNF.
I wonder when LNF releases, HG will do a software update of @cyan orbit to update em with all info of LNF 🤔
!lnflink
haha
possibly
i'll for sure get the game
!lnflink
Any more news of the game apart of its trailer and ambitious promises?
No promises have been made
Well, not exactly promises, hopes.
But yeah, i hope it wont be nms launch all over again.
who wouldn't
Sean didn’t make any promises for NMS either
just holding onto something that's been fixed for years now
Ehhh, yeah he did
he’s a person, he was excited about his game, and he was speaking of things that may have been in the shipped game, but no promises at all. If we put our hope and trust in a person to the point where we believe in their promises, we need a reality check.
so no, he didn't promise anything, and he didn't promise anything for LNF. If we consider what he said as a promise and then are let down when the game ships, that's on us and our unreasonable expections, not on them.
And yet, they are still trying to stir up the hype for it... to me, it might not be a literal promise, but they sure are trying to set some expectations from us, and the ,,description" of the game and the trailer was pretty grand, so in the end, they might not promise anything, but if they mess up, I know I will be disappointed for a game they said they said we could get. Even though I like hello games too, i am not just entirely convinced that the hype-train tracks up ahead arent leading to a bottomless pit. Do not take any offence, this is not an attack on the studio that I feel very fond of and support, im just concerned.
They're game devs with an ambitious idea, and they happen to be excited about it. They're allowed to be excited and to share their excitement with others. I know what you mean, it's easy to be disappointed when a product doesn't meet our expectations, but also, we're human, and even through our hard work, things don't always turn out the way we envision it. Thankfully, we've seen HG improve NMS to a place with high polish (even though it has its issues), so I don't see what he said about LNF being that big of a deal and well within their ability to accomplish.
You can call it whatever you want and I agree the devs have the right to be excited, but to get up on stage and say "our game has xyz features in it", and then release the game without those features, is irresponsible. Which is why this time around it seems clear that they are trying to avoid the same mistakes, at least so far.
though there's a difference between a person making a promise and being irresponsible
I heard people calling nms Dev's liar
I played like this year
So idk why
But it's kinda sad if the game is so cool
Unless something had happened at begining
who knows, but the reality is that everyone lies or has lied
That the human nature
tbh
So far the only person who lied once
In his life
Was Gandhi ji
A freedom fighter of India
When he was 5
So someone never lied interesting
I'm only speaking here what we were taught at school
But I would love to know

Anybody know where I can find some fires
California
Tried Australia?
The ☀️
Brb
Well yeah
It’s the same studio
There’s also the knowledge bro korvax guy from the trailer that has lights that look very similar to the symbol on knowledge stones
it appares so

He must know alot of things
Tennoo?
actually boutta log on warframe
in order to play Light no Fire the planet has to be discovered in NMS first 👀
Good luck
lol the release date is just hidden in some random comm ball on some random planet
yea comm ball was placed close to launch before all the geology changes so may be underground glitched
Time to get digging lol
time to diggy, diggy hole
Honestly it shocks me how damn close it is in art design. Not only is the in-game engine direclty looking to be an update/port of the NMS engine, but everything else - from the knowledge Stonebro, to even the logo design being WAAY to similar to the Atlas symbol. It's almost like they said "We want a torch, but how do we make it look as close to the atlas symbol as possible?"
I'm kinda wondering if it's going to have some kind of secondary NMS background storyline behind the main storyline... like by finding some hints/clues/suggestions, we can piece out that this world was a beta-test for the Atlas universe or something.
kzzt
it would be cool af if they connected light no fire with nms, like the atlas gave up on its universe and decided to focus on one single planet or smth
so i guess NMS doesnt get any seasonal big content updates anymore because LNF is priority?
When did NMS have seasonal updates?
- NMS never had that
- They have different teams working on the games
Is there an official server
for LNF?
Yes
Not official, but as close to official as this one is for NMS
Molto bene
Why would you ever get the idea to light Gunter on fire?
gotcha
felt like it had content updates every 3 months
So Any news on light no Fire, I wonder how big our Dragons can Get, I hope we can fly them very high I want to swoop through the clouds with it
I hope we get some actually aggressive almost intimidating looking ones too.
I want something like this
All we have is the TGA trailer
This dragon has me interested looks pretty big, and different
C class dragon would just be a gecko that you carry around your pocket to keep him warm
I hope they breath fire, hopefully we can change the color of their flames.
I'm definitely going to try and make my character look like a Targaryean, and I want to. Burst through the clouds riding my dragon.
I wonder what the name will be
Nice!!
I hope they make a concept art book like ghost of Tsushima.
It would slap
You are the evil

Always was.
This looks like a more realistic Monsterous Nightmare lol
But yes I agree, I want a big best friend to fly through clouds with
I want a kingfisher.
I want a brick
will the dragons be customizable
Hope so
i'd love to be able to swap out dragon parts and paint color my dragon in any color i want
Lol
Dragon building
Maybe there is something comparable to the egg synthesizer in NMS and we can tweak em
A spell, or breeding or something more rpg
I'm so ready for this game, anyone have any speculation on when we may get a release window
That would be nice, I want to make.mine look aggressive and Red. I wonder if they will have roars that can be customized
Or different color flames
I actually mentioned that earlier, I think that would be epic I'd go with like a blue flame. Maybe make my dragon bronze and Call it Vermathor
I will definitely be looking at any way to make it the largest it can get
I'm trying not to get too hyped and make crazy expectations, but it's hard
Call me old fashioned but I wouldn’t be mad at gear levels
I kinda hope we can change the voice of our dragons roar, it's not loud but it's trippy, I want the roar from Caraxes but n House of the Dragon
I'm definitely aiming for the biggest dragon
I hope there's some cool looking dragons
or maybe they'll release more dragons over time? idk
kinda like nms' ships

images u can hear
I hope they add like actually HUGE lifeforms
that's something I've missed with NMS
like we have no planet eating cosmic gods
the only thing that comes close is leviathan and other space whales
I hope they add like mountain giants or something to Light no Fire
That knowledge bro was pretty big, but yeah that would be neat
giant worms
Wyrms, in the sands…
light no worms
Light no dune
set fire to no muad'dib
Light every dune
Imagine all the “it’s been 40 years” memes when the game drops 🤣
When I was young we dreamed of lighting no fires. Now, I leave that to you. Go. Light no fires lights pipe
How do we all feel about a Physical Release for LNF? Must admit I hope they do so for all platforms they release LNF on. Wish I could get a physical release of NMS on PC also.
Imagine its been like Fry being frozen in time for a millenia 10 generations later "Continue lighting no fire kiddos" lights and smokes pipe
Instructions unclear
Lit an orphanage on fire
i do hope we really get the life sized features, like mountains caves oceans etc. - the ones in nms have always felt underwhelming
i wonder if some of the races will predominantly live in, say, the mountains, or deep in caves for example
I think the big deciding factor for me is if the game meets the expectations it's setting in terms of world generation and multiplayer interaction (hopefully we don't get the jank NMS multiplayer)
the trailer said the footage is all in game multiplayer so it's promising
Any news on a release date?
I can’t wait to do my Light no Fire Arson Speedrun
This has to be fake.
No way a game launching in 2024/25 is going to run on a GeForce 510 and a Core 2 Duo.
NMS won’t even run on that low of a level of hardware.
You think a site that is 1/4 covered in adverts and trying to make a commission on selling PC parts would do that?
Just go on the internet and make up content for clicks?
nahhhhhh
No one (besides HG maybe) knows what the requirements are yet
nothing is set until they publish the files tbh
These AI generated articles are starting to get on my nerves
Game's still in development so I doubt they know it yet
calling it "intelligence" is generous
AI atm rn for articles atm seems like the infinite monkey theorm
i will apply for CEO

They did say all roles, basically legally binding
Yep, time to apply all

Light No Fire isn't out yet, so you can't be playing an expedition

No man's fantasy world
Much as I'd love to work on Light No Fire, I dont live near Hello Games
Very much on the other side of the Atlantic
I think i live near the direct opposite side of the world
whats it supposed to be like medieval spaceships?
Dragons
thats a jump in another direction aint it
i hooe its good i just looked it up and it says its supposed to take place on an earth sized planet
Expect at least nms in diffrent skin plus some new features.
nms is good so...
Dragons ARE medieval spaceships
real
it's a game about lighting every fire didn't u know?
Nope lol
All The Fires ™️

Playing Smalland: Survive the Wild to compensate the wait for LnF. Kinda fun and pretty well done. I do hope LnF does it bigger and better, though.
Does it have building? If so is it good?
It does have building and quite good too. Might be very close or even a tat better than NMS, imo.
Round shape walls and banisters for stairs for example. Placing items is more precise, but I do miss a building cam, though.
You can even move your complete base, when you move up to another location.
I do hope LNF goes this way, sorta.
Hmm. I might have to try it. It’s on my wishlist after all
It’s still a 1.0 release and doesn’t have tons of content yet, but it entertains me for days already.
I’m treating Smalland as a preview for LNF 😄
no
Anyone wanna start fresh with me lowkey looking for a gaming buddy
Do you mean, when Light No Fire comes out? I ask since we've no clue when the game will come out.
If you're LFG'ing for NMS, you can try #nms-lfg-or-trades
Edited:
You can also try our
Game Night channel for finding players for non NMS games ( 🔓 the channel unlocks with the respective self-assignable role here: #roles message
).
probably tomorrow
Yes my bad

Oh right. The

Any updates on this game?
HG just showed LNF off and then poof, not a word again
the entire LNF server is pretty much just hype
hype hope and insanity
yeah I feel like they forgot to tell us stuff lol
On December 7, 2013 during VGX we showed off No Man’s Sky for the first time. We had no idea how people would receive it, and we even tried pulling out at the last moment because we just couldn’t figure out whether the trailer we’d created lived up to the game that we were playing... View Article
NMS released nearly 3 years after that blog post
get comfy lol
Lighting Fires For The Next Three Years
I doubt they’ll take as long for this one, at least going by what Sean said about not wanting to announce anything too early but rather closer to release
I also think they have a lot more experience with the game engine and development.
Well if Sean wants us to stop lighting fires then he knows what to do
🔥
There’s a fire
Watcha gonna do about it Sean
Huh
🔥
What is light no fire?
New game from hello games.
Release date TBA
Light No Fire is a game about adventure, building, survival and exploration together. Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth, it brings the depth of a role playing game to the freedom of a survival sandbox.

Basicaly NMS but on 1 planet in fantasy skin
“Fantasy skin” sounds like a euphemism for cosplay
Is the health tracker those small dots in the top left corner?
but why be on one planet... when you could be on millions : D
Sean wants to put all diversity of nms to 1 planet
i noticed that too and was wondering the same thing
can't even call it a health bar
the weapon type that you're using also seams to change for where you are.
oh really?
maybe it automatically switches to ranged when you hop on a dragon because you can't really use melee from a dragon
just looked at the lnf video on youtube : 17 million veiws
thats a lot
It's where the NMS health tracker is and you see it in various states, so it's a good guess.
Any way to make it split screen co-op?
Are you talking about Light No Fire?
Yes. NMS would be nice also though. My wife and I like playing games together. I should have worded that better though lol
Light No Fire isn't out yet.
do you guys think sean is going through multiple world seeds and picking out the best one?
he is planning the dates when he will send an update and reformat the seed for all players so that they lose their bases
lmao
i'm an nms fan but i ain't askeert to call a gek a gek
How would we know lol, all we have is the first trailer
I wonder when we’ll get light no fire
I hope since it’s one planet we get super deep oceans
i think that’ll be the case
since we know we’ll get everest sized mountains
Wonder if HG would do an early access release. I wouldn’t play it until full release anyway, but it might be a good option for them
I'd absolutely play early access if it would become available on console, which I highly doubt.
i've only seen early access on xbox, never on ps unless they call it an open beta
I so hope we get this building style in LNF. It’s a base I built in Smalland. Great style and would suit LNF for sure.
Has there been any info about betas or alphas yet
No we just have the trailer
And now we have a leaked teaser
Wait what!?
where
Will it be a simulation, perhaps we will build the simulation perhaps we will become JOEL of the Nms universe
Reference to April Fool's joke by Gunter who was Sean Murray for a few hours: #other-games message cc @eternal dock
Yeah I realized after
It was posted on the second in my timezone tho
Oh I keep forgetting lol because of different timezones
I am praying they don't use P2P for Light No Fire. I can't even play a certian friend even if we are on the same network.
10 seconds after grouping... disconnected
Facts
Im hella hyped for LNF just look at the refferences:
It would be fun to think LNF would be another simulation of Atlas?
no man's skyrim
planet size of the earth with the same random generation as in NMS?
i can’t imagine an indie team making an earth sized planet that isn’t randomly generated
Thought you were also sean for awhile

this game is going to be a game killer
!LNFLink
Definitely excited about it
hell yea
i love hallo games they are doing a good job and have done a good job of no man sky and i love it a lot and i hear they are making this game coming out its going to rip into the other survival games out there and bring lots of people to play it
Yeah, HG's definitely proven to have a passion for their games and continue to reward their player-base and fans with beautiful content over the years. Can't wait to see what comes next with LNF
me too
Really hyped for the game! I can't wait for news about it, most likely this summer? I hope so!
HG is quiet about it. I suspect some info on some big showcase. Maybe TGA.
what I was theorizing was that this was FAR before nms takes place, but in the same universe and simulation. or maybe before the simulation but the same Canon universe if that makes sense. I'm kinda hoping that it's before the atlas' simulation thing
Honestly, I hope it's separate
erm.. bad opinion!! /j
;0
Lighting every fire!
ill get it on my ps4 even if it blows up in the process
Not sure if anyone's shared this video before. It's not new. I don't recognize the content creator but Google suggested it tonight so I watched it. One bit I found insightful, starting around 10mins, was the review of past comments made by Sean Murray in interviews (quoting a subreddit post I'll have to find), giving insight into the timeline when development started (including the mention of Hello Labs): https://youtu.be/5fElRXAwisg?si=EtU1NtQB6i4MzVEw

@patent furnace yea I watched the same video but I'm still going to get game
light fire
I wonder how they'll do a level up system since you can use flying mounts to traverse? zones? enemy types? ranked missions?
I imagine they'll do it by biomes so something like valhiem
or not even have a level system at all 🤷♂️
progression route could be related to resources / gear / etc
I agree. instead of multi tool / starship power - it'll be sword and magic
i look forward to googling "how to find S Level swords in LNF"
LOL
This would be sick
thanks!
And maybe if in lnf they showed like the beginning stages of the atlas becoming the atlas somehow, i think that’d also be cool
yeah!
that'd be reallt cool
I love indie games because they can actually be creative as opposed to AAA ones
Exactly they do what they want unlike other games that just try to impress with cool graphics or smth
was thinking about this some more. I'd love to see a "prequel" to the events that led to the atlas. || The actual world before, what happened to it and why it was abandoned, the story of it's creator and why it "left the atlas behind"||
But i just don't see it being a thing in LnF considering it being more fantasy based, and in what looks like a time period too early for such.
I could see it being set in the early cycles of the
Atlas though.
But in reality we may see this more in the form of multiple Easter eggs, and references to NMS, rather than it being an actual foundation of the game's lore
For sure there's gonna be at least some easter eggs
well I mean an earlier version of the atlas is present in LnF, so who knows
I don’t see both aspects not being able to happen
As in it being set in the "world" that led to the creation of the atlas and still have easter eggs?
Yes, maybe Easter eggs about how maybe the atlas came to be ?
Or a parallel dimension planet type scenario where the atlas takes a slightly different form of perception/worship
I also think we could easily have a OG stargate type set up. I mean the portals are a hint of that for sure.
Maybe.
I've personally always been curious in the "before" of things. (not just in NMS even in life lol)
Like what came before the Atlas, where, who...
In the game lore we only get a tiny glimpse of it.
That's why i think it would be cool to explore the Genesis
ofc that will just go down an endless circular rabbit hole, cause then you'll want to know about the Genesis of such world as well so it's always gonna be a chicken and egg kinda deal
Even then, just getting more understanding of the || "why" the creator left the atlas like it did, of what happen to their world, of what purpose it was created for even||
Also yea, more Stargate portals?? sign me up
I mean more like the premise of stargate SG-1, how a lot of worlds they go to through the stargate a are setback in time extremely far back compared to the SG team. NMS uses the animation of the portals activating in homage to stargate portals. So I have though The LNF world could be like one of those worlds kept back in time due to the creators of the Altas maybe
How many years do you think we gotta wait?
2
what if i.. lit a fire
Light it and see what happens
🔥
Now we wait
What you gonna do Shan Berry
I really like what they are doing for light no fire now
No more mentions. Just working on the game till release. Then they will release a final trailer before release and the game will come out.
we will keep the hype fires non-fires alit

🔥
🧯
Gleam got roasted.
Personally I’m really hoping Light No Fire has hyper aggressive mobs and pvp
I want it to be everything NMS can’t be because of circumstances and how it came to be
Games like Rust and Ark just aren’t fun because you can spawn camp, server camp/hunt, limited player count etc. but on a single server, single planet, encounter imagine how fun that would be
unbloodylikely
I think it’s rather likely it can have it
Gonna put the survival part to the test
At least hostile entities at least, because the only reason NMS doesn’t have worms that eat us or giant snakes is simply that
They would intercept peaceful explorers
There wouldn’t be a way to avoid it
like if you were scanning all creatures
You can’t control where the deadly things spawn
But in Light no fire, the creature spawns are all one planet, more focused and probably more coherent now that it isn’t spread so thin
Imagine we find the light no fire planet
I don’t think we would because it’s in development for 5 years and organized to be the whole engine for a single planet
but I wish
Just as like a nod within a cutscene
||similar to the prime atlas station, or the inaccessible planet||
Finally was able to get the invite link yo work! Can’t wait to hear more news about LNF. Been having alot of fun with NMS since these last two updates
i think it's 100% guaranteed that it /could/, but 1% chance that it /will/
Don’t be weird with chances you just don’t want pvp and that’s fine
But i’m saying the survival aspect is definitely
going to be there
because as much as I’d like to say we’d all be friends traveling a big earth that is no mans sky 2
i'm all for AI mobs
but they've released two other games
signposts are readily visible
and legible
I think alot of us decent players dont want pvp cause we know there are ppl out there that love to play, “lets go destroy someones base”. With no regard to how much time or resources were spent building it.
pvp never ends up being good in these survival craft games anyways.
But i wouldn't mind a bit more hardcorish valheim-like pve
It kind of depends with pvp based on the developers
and no mans sky also has a base upload system
I think it would be more like the base raiding game i’ve been playing lately where they’d virtual raid
A lot of pvp games don’t play into the fact that the base doesn’t need to be gone-gone, people just want to play wrecking ball
If you look at the trailer it kind of looks like it’s going to have the same building system as NMS
So I would argue that mechanic isn’t the players fault but the developers
If the base is gone for the psychopath raider they’re none the wiser about your base being intact
It’s why I think it could have some pvp related to it with base uploading
It’s only natural it would follow the same general rules because it’s the same custom engine
and pvp is still a thing in nms even if people want to ignore it
It is a setting, and people do participate in it
But building in NMS isn’t connected to the combat
because it would be invasive
NMS had aggressive play locked out of it from the start,
Because anyone who stayed was there for the exploring too
Like Sean even mentioned giant worms remained aesthetic because they’d kill you unexpectedly and forcefully
which is why we have the smaller more easily manageable ones
I’m not expecting some all expansive crazy pvp feature, but I am expecting it to be a little more visible in a more controlled fantasy environment
It’s also why I expect deep oceans to be a thing now that it’s one planet
I’m hoping Light no Fire covers at least a couple things No man’s Sky hasn’t really been “allowed” to do
it doesn’t have to be pvp, but pvp and deep oceans are two things I really want because I want to see what can happen with the engine they have when it’s used that way
From the trailer and comments it sounds like it could have very deep waters
I kinda hope for a interesting underdark type thing as well
Also everyone really misunderstands games like Rust, ark and Conan
I just want my dwarven hall
What causes the environment to be that way is the way the developers make it
Those games all have a server locked system
60 players in one room no more
So how are those games meant to be played then?
If you lock even 5 people in a room together for 3 months tell me what happens
No entertainment except building blocks
Well these games are more sophisticated then that tho
The reason they’re played the way they are is because you can’t do anything without building up
Also people go into those games looking to fight
but without being aggressive you can’t build up because dying means starting over
There’s tons of people not looking for a fight in fact
How can you not build up without being aggressive?
Rust in particular usually leaves role players alone
on a couple servers people would build a church and big people would build around you to defend you
Servers usually adapt a clan mind set as well especially in Ark
In ark it was incredibly popular to unite as an entire server
and go to raid against another entirely specific server
🧐
Because Ark had server transferring
so 100 people vs 100 people
in a 100 pop cap server
well 2 servers of 100 pop cap
Do you prefer large scale pvp like all out warfare, or smaller pvp like raids or arenas?
It’s usually very specific people who map wipe and it’s usually because the person wiped was the aggressor 99% of the time in ark
I’ve tried both
I’m neutral on both
I simply enjoy a bit of friendly competition and would like to see regenerating bases as a concept that’s used
Lots of people simply enjoy the destruction factor in games like Ark and Rust
it’s never about causing intense pain for everyone
People just like showcasing that
So would you prefer random raiding or would you prefer if both sides had to opt in?
Personally i dislike losing all my stuff when i die. Then cant get it back cause where i died i would jsut die again
Opting in doesn’t work well, Ark tried that with offline protection
But regenerating bases worked well in one I played, it was a trap base thing hold on i’ll look it up
Meet your maker
You make a base for people to raid and based on the kills your base got you got resources from their body of them destroying your stuff
This was common in Ark just because the environment filled with dinosaurs would kill you a couple dozen times
The opt-in I do expect light no fire to have in the scenario I picture would be keeping resources or base stuff that you drop
Since custom settings would definitely stick around in a world that dangerous
The only opt in that works is having a pvp specific mode
Yea that’s another reason i stopped ark
Yeah that changed usually once Genesis happened
Was very fun
They fixed that then? So you can set the option to lose your stuff or mot on death?
Just easier to get around, Genesis gave you a full tek suit on spawn
Also won’t dragons make base defenses useless?
Simple terms is dinos couldnt touch you players couldnt catch you
No, it makes it more fun in fact
Ark has dragons and other mythical creatures
The only main issue with ark was time consumption and clipping glitches because of hand crafted map
Was? Past tense?
They changed that too
Genesis let you buy resources and cryo pods
patched kibble so most dinosaur taming takes under 2 hours if you do it properly
and a single player game/dedicated server is able to have all stats edited individually
There’s also 4-16 player team official servers that boosted the server by 8x or more
So on average you’d have a full base in a day
Cryo pods paused baby timers and made dinosaur raising much easier for the regular player
they nerfed levels so they don’t get as high and also wiped servers
Man… we really need more info…
Now, I still wouldn’t recommend pvp ark servers to the uninitiated. The game itself is still very brutal.
Rust has a lot of alternatives that entertain people too, like trap bases that abuse how a person would raid and defends well. Or role playing and helping others by just running around, since you don’t actually need a base in it.
Both ark and rust have living at sea options that keep people away from you for weeks at a time too
Yeah, I for one just really want to know if it’ll cover things NMS can’t do because of community variety
So all in all, I believe pvp in ark form would be different in No man’s sky, because you aren’t trapped in a tiny box with no way out like rust
Further explaining that point, the biggest problem in all games like Rust or Ark is room for a base
A huge cause for raids is usually just needing somewhere to live if someone doesn’t let you in
any server with less than 20 people was remarkably peaceful in both games
some things i wonder about light no fire:
- if someone names a rock on the other side of a continent, why cant you name it? they arent important. different cultures call different things different names. it makes sense in nms setting not lnf.
- will there be a base-style claiming system or more territorial like a nation?
Oh that was the other thing that made me think of pvp
I wonder how we’ll travel or spawn and how easily you can get to each other from base spawn without joining on each other
i assume naming things won’t be a feature in lnf
then i shall play as The Nameless One
no u smoosh
I could see random dungeons taking the role of planets in this game
That would be another nice way to get pets or other things
definitely interested in seeing what they do with dungeons/caves
and magma cores, don't forget about the magma cores

how could i forget magma core magma cores
i hear they are on fire right now
guess we'll have to put them out
bold
I wonder if the procedural areas include cavern world, ocean world of such

!news
So x ox has some kinda showcase in June right, wonder if we will see more about the game by than, really interested to see the diversity of dragons, and character customization.
I want a pretty Intimidating looking dragon.
Also wonder if we could make them grow to very large sizes

When is this game coming out?!
No release date
No pc requirements
No official confirmed platforms
Let them cook
Imo it will be simliar to NMS erlease time from first trailer.
i was hoping differently.
first time sean wanted to hype and get the talk going possibly get investement and project was still early.
This time they been cooking the game in their basement for years and have probably learnt better approach
(maybe just my wishful thinking :)
HG also has release ptsd so they will release it later than sooner.
Listen last december at TGA i was hoping for a KCD 2 announcement. I thought we would still have to wait 2-3 years from confirmation of a new project.
Turns out they just released the trailer with an ETA to same year
i'm just hoping more companies start doing stuff like that instead of putting us through the misery of the long term tease
stop crushing my hope
Year 2077 in the middle of our Cyber Punk era
Old man sean: Light no fire is finally releasing today
We did all the updates in advance

I wonder if we’ll have moon access
by way of teleporter or something
fully generated "world" not "worlds"
I’m mainly just wondering about a regular moon not a no mans sky moon
I don’t see why it would be mentioned because it would definitely be too much hype and a spoiler in story
crazy how HG showed off LNF and then nothing
and yet people are still really hyped about it
usualllalallllalally
Exciting concept
HG just showed earth
And when you understand the engine and what it does
You can’t help but have your brain explode
and since it’s using the same engine it can’t be worse than no mans sky
I mean not immensely anyway
So it has a safe lowbar with the highbar that gets set for it
Still huffing the copium for all the VR goodness in the NMS game engine to be carried over to LNF.
yeah
it would be really sad if it wasn't vr
i prob wouldn't end up playing it
Huh.. I should stay away from them.
Or thank them 👀
yeah but at a distance
The question is who did he kill
not it
Or alternatively gladiatorial battle for celebration
Everytime I see the trailer for Light No Fire again I get so excited and want to play it right now
I wish I could work for a company like Hello games
I wish I could play a new game from hello games
Did you play Last campfire yet
It’s really fun
It would be cool to see features from LNF bleed over into NMS, such as multiple biome planets
they should def add a elf and dwarf race to the mix of civilization
has lnf been realeased?
no all we have is the trailer
For the next two years
Or three
Or four
I’m hoping thats what happens since it’s the same engine
So that certain things like deeper oceans bleed over
but if not i’m happy that Light No Fire will be basically NMS2
Spiritual Sequel
The right kind of sequel
I think i saw a version of this somewhere else but I want lnf to be another one of the atlas’ “dreams” and it now has 15 minutes of operational time remaining. And this would kind of suggest that there will be 14 more games in the atlas storyline-thing. This is really outlandish and probably won’t happen but it’s a cool idea
Doubtful tbh
I think HG have learned from their mistakes with the nms release
Iirc Sean also said they didn’t want to announce games way before they’re approaching release ready.
Well he said he didn't want a drawn out media campaign, and they aren't advertising it at all
Lnf betting pool when
In general I think it’s more just the excitement to show off that amazing project you’ve been working on after theorizing with toys in your basement
Imagine holding in all that wow for 5 years
Something that kind of broke apart release for NMS is other people also hyped it too when it was kind of just a guy excited to tell the world his dreams
And after releasing the prototype proceeding to prove to the people that were disappointed that the dream was going to be a reality like it was described
So I can understand not wanting a drawn out media campaign because sometimes when you’re showing stuff of you just want to go off in a huge excited burst especially when it’s something others for sure haven’t done before
Game development as a current misses a lot of big games that follow that aspect lately, most people care about how to market it the most & put time/fun/enjoyment on the side burner for after the marketable product exists
lights fire

I still have plans to make a plunderers community when this game releases
When is this game supposed to come out??
here @woven hornet one of the pins with the YouTube video
no news on release time unfortunately
here's a Reddit thread where someone shared a "timeline" when Sean's made comments about the game too...but again, no word on estimated release time
another pin, with a link to the website: https://www.lightnofire.com/
and we also have a Discord server for it too: https://discord.gg/lightnofire
<t:1749929163:d> Edit: Discord Url was updated. No more dashes / old link no longer valid: https://discord.gg/light-no-fire
I looked at the trailer. This game has the potential to turn the gaming world upside down.
One thing I’m NOT excited about is the probable download size, OR the hypothetical specs that would be needed to run it.
NMS succeeded because the download size was relatively small. All you needed was the parts to different planets…flora…fauna…and let the CPU and GPU figure it out and calculate things.
This??? I’m thinking 100 GB minimum.
I really hope we get to a bit see more LNF before it releases tbh
still not fully sold on it yet
Game will run on same engine as NMS and also will be proc gen. So it should not be too big (nms is around 16GB)
I bet there will be more trailers in the future that will show more.
I wonder if light no fire multiplayer is like hell diver 2 or guild wars 1
Single player but occasionally at certain location/ hubs you meet other player to gather together to do missions
within the first 5 seconds of the trailer
Most likely, knowing HG, its gonna be multiplayer open world. Not hub based.
I think there will be hubs of some kind. Capitals of some sort. When u and your friend will spawn on diffrent sides of planet they need to implement way to meet up and play together.
i was thinking maybe something like the anomaly
theres probably gonna be portals
I hope we’ll get those better looking clouds in NMS 😶
Creature animations also look much more advanced 😯
Atlas gonna be jealous
I still want to see a betting sheet
I call dibs on November 2025
i'm guessing december 2024
Imo 3 years from first trailer. Simliar to nms.
ok so what's the date
looks like december 2026
Yes . End of 2026
Are light no fire and no mans sky going to co exist or will no mans sky stop
They're separate games. HG has made other games that haven't been shut down. So I doubt NMS would shut down just because Light No Fire is released. HG also announced positions opening for Light No Fire, so they may have enough resources to manage all their IPs just fine. And if their games continue to be played, and they can all continue to be sources of revenue, I don't see why they'd need to put a stop to any of their projects.
You never know
Aim ready to move on from nms to this
There is no offical platform confirmation but imo it will be ps5 xbox PC. It Would be awesome if they managed to squize it into ps4.
Definitely not Switch tho
However we are getting news about the next Nintendo console before march next year, so maybe we’ll get it eventually
Engines pretty adaptable but I imagine it would be like with switch and get a lower quality version later on
The current engine is still designed for all the consoles as of right now so I don’t see how it couldn’t be in all of them in the future
I wonder how they'll handle discovering and uploading stuff as everyone on one planet is alot more doable then every player spread across multiple galaxies
Maybe , but without cuting content and performance? I doubt it. Ps4 chokes often enough with what it has. Not mentioning switch.
Ps4 doesnt really choke that often, i’ve played on it and ps5
Like I said in a worst case scenario, it’ll likely just get a cut content version like switch got
The switch version is pretty solid. I have it so I can play in bed. It’s a great system tbh
When will LNF come out?
Hopefully we find out next week at summer games fest
Nobody knows
The year 2287, you just have to talk to one Preston Garvey
Or Mac 😔
I hope we'll be able to build our bases into some sailing ships or even airships, to get a moving base.
This would fit so well with such kind of game
It seemed like we might at least get islands
Is there a suggestion channel somewhere ?
No you could probably use their zendesk too
I was thinking of sending a request for them to try something i’ve always dreamed of a game having:
Procedural magic
What is it ?
Imagine no mans sky’s engine or things like stable diffusion but used in a game for magic
I still don't get it bro
Then you’re not going to
Google would just be better
Alr I'll look for that cuz it's seems a pretty good idea even if I don't get it
Gotta light every fire so no one else has to! Wait could that be a group, the FireLighters?
It's another 1.5 hours before the event starts right? Might not watch the new Light No Fire trailer until tomorrow then maybe. 😄
Or maybe they open with it. Since the trailer was really succesful last time. Though, I think they might keep people weaiting a bit.
Any news yet?
Nope. Few hours to get yet, so going to sleep relatively soon probably :3
Hope they don't save it for last

who is watching the summer games fest?
🤚
Lets hope we get some LNF :D
Sean's trailer hint can't be for nothing
true
I've sat through too many meh things and admittedly some really cool ones too at this point
So I need that trailer 😛
Same :v
But if they want to keep hype low until the game is polished enough, i wont complain :)
but
if u don't mind Sean...
A little trailer should be fine 👍
And a release date would be cool too XD
yeah, that would be amazing 🤩
I thought it was confirmed for 2024, was I wrong?
Don't think they've give n any indication either way tbh
But if we get a trailer, it would make sense from a marketing perspective to include something or other on release dates
Unless it is quite a while off still
Hopefully they don't pull a Rockstar and give us a two years notice 😅
🤞
(Hoping for 2024 to be honest)
Sooooo we hit the end and fires remain incredibly unlit
I have no idea what that Sean tweet was meant to be now tbh
Any news yet?
Nope 😭
They are on day of the devs now, but I think odds aren't big
Though trailers at the main event are way expensive for devs
So it's not impossible
Slowly accepting we'll get nothing today, so I really should do sleep
damn
😭😭😭
go to sleep guys
that's enough for me
if there's a chance, even a slight one, i'll keep watching 🫡
I apologize if it was just Sean being coy when he worked on a future trailer or something, but it was such a specific quote retweet, lol
Yeah xD

Reaction To Hello Games Not Announcing At The Summer Games Fest
-----------------------------...
torn between "wow that was so wildly inappropriate" and "omg I haven't laughed so hard since I don't know when" 😂 😂
Any news from LNF?
no, we got nothing
damn
I hope they aim for next gen actually. As much as I enjoyed and sometimes still enjoy NMS, that game was released about 16 months too soon.
PS5 and XBSX are just not there. Maybe in 2027 we will be there for LNF to be as good as it can be.
Masterpieces take time.
oh and Hi. I am a noob here.
they been working on LNF for 5 years already.. NMS was around 3 years before release..right? ... so we can asume the game is pretty polished, but i agree it may not have some things like "super amazing combat" but as long as there are magic spells, riding a dragon and exploring the world with it is all i need
tho.. the one question would be if there are dungeons,, u know . like underground dungeons, caves like minecraft does, with monsters to kill and loot to find
True but they are also still a smaller team and they have a lot of them still working on NMS. The last thing anyone wants is another nms launch, be that bugs, or just bad PR.
I’m fine with letting it bake for a little while more.
Bethesda has been working on TES VI for about a million years and they are a huge company.
I half expect “TES IV: SKYRIM 2” at this point
bethesda is a joke ..
bethesda isn't the best company to compare to lol
Not really. They have had missteps sure, bad releases yea. They have had a string of turd games, but the fallout show was awesome.
Bethesda is a fine comparison when we’re talking abt release dates.
Would you rather a rockstar comparison?
i dont think u read what i said,,, they been working on LNF for 5 years.. more time than NMS on release... the lvl of polishing and bug fixes are so much higher than what happend with NMS and sean learned his lesson..they gived us the LNF trailer with a playable game ,,all that in the trailer was gameplay 100%
now my question is,, how stupid looking will the monsters, animals will be? or they will be close to real earth (bears, werewolf, yeti, cryptids) .. bcs i see skeletons..soo
That doesn’t mean anything. Companies can slap together an E3 trailer pretty easily.
Duke Nukem had entire gameplay and footage and we never got the game they showed back then.
I’m saying that it doesn’t mean we will get it this year or even next. It doesn’t mean that it’s even close to ready.
I’m happy with letting it bake more.
let the man cook
Pretty confused that we didn't get anything shown at the Summer Game Fest after Sean's tweet some time ago (He replied "just as well" to Geoff Keighley, from The Game Awards and behind Summer Game Fest, posting "I love watching new video game trailers."), I was conviced it was a teaser for it. Maybe they need more time, or could it be due to how The Game Awards rushed many including them to send their videos?
Or it could be just Sean doing a perfectly normal tweet, like a person with normal presence on social media.
But the fact is, all his actions are over analyzed by us, and so we bamboozled ourselves with it.
Form what i had seen, he even deleted his tweet already??
can't check properly without logging to Musk's website
You're right, it could be a normal tweet. I still can see it on my side so not deleted, it's just that he does not do that a lot, usually he reposts screenshots of No Man's Sky, tease us with emojis, reposts when articles mentions the game etc... Times when he tweets normally are pretty rare, and since he does not communicate a lot he didn't deny it either, so I was hoping for something with many ^^'
ah not deleted. Good to know 👍
yup
There was that one pickle tweet…but we don’t talk about that one
Oh ok, I see. Thanks!
i mean i like skyrim but anything else is bad and they lie to us and take us as "redacted"

they cant even make a proper procedural world and then we have ppl comparing their game with hello games
which is a big insult to sean
ye
its incredible that an AAA game is worse than an indie having 5 YEARS OF DEVELOPMENT
more like "triple degrade" ...shame todd shame

I genuinly thought the PC Games show was the ace in the hole
it was the niddle in the hole... and i mean the other one
more like mobile pixels
Anyone here about that Light No Sky experiment
if they are PC games... im ded
I am honestly excited for Light No Fire, they learned so much with No Man's Sky over the years from procedural generation to gameplay, features etc so I am really confident on the game delivering quite the experience! So excited to play it on release day, also the landscape looks amazing and varied from the trailers, can't wait to have more videos when the next trailer releases
Maybe we'll get something at the next event, or they will just publish a video like they do for updates?
How much longer
I saw a reddit post or two worried and/or insisting it’d be as bad as No mans sky release and I thought it was really funny
Because those people don’t understand it’s using the same engine
it can’t be worse, the worse is just no mans sky spiritual successor and I see no downside
Right? Also they can improve the Engine for that game and add more features to it for the generation etc, like they did for all the biomes on the same planet, seen nowhere in NMS (beside the height map sometimes)
Exactly, at it’s surface it’s still NMS condensed to a single planet
and just like when I bought nms day one
I’m expecting a big world to just walk around in
Not some grand insane thing that Sean likes to accidentally show it as because realistically we all have that excited project mode
”It’s going to do allllll this”
Since we all waiting for more light no fire and we got no mans sky, was thinking if folks would be interested in community populating a planet/system maybe around those more medieval themes or just fire lol
Euclid galaxy for easy access, then maybe a system with a lush and torched planets
oblivion 😔
ok just saw the channel and i just got one question: do we know when its gonna finally happen?
elden ring dlc, light no fire and wukong black myth are the biggest games for me this year 😄
We have no clue
All we have is the first trailer
I miss a good sandbox survival MMO with player driven economy ;-; It would be good if Light No Fire was an MMO too
Cause NMS is a different one, like, the universe is so great that we just dont meet each other
Or a good way woulb be bring a new economy update to nms
I miss more interaction with players and economy
I believe the Steam page doesn’t mention anything about it being an MMO
I can be talking shit cause Im new in nms but i havent seen anything like this in the game yet
yes, sadly
LNF will /not/ be one of the biggest games for anybody this year lmao
Who knows, maybe they shadow drop it at TGA
There's no light, there's only fire😱

Some day we get it
It could be tomorrow
It could be sunday
or it’ll just be 10 years from now on a day that you slept in
Sean: lets put out a trailer of LNF . Nothing too fancy so pepole will not get too hyped. And maybe we will release in next year or two.
LNF trailer: 17mil views , most watched hg vid.
Sean: oh god... ok change of plans. It has to be perfect on release. It will be released when its ready.
IDK. Hello Games released a total dumpster fire once. Look how that turned out.
Maybe Light No Fire should be one?
I'm actually gonna be a little worried if everything works right out of the box...
Dumpster fire makes the trashy people leave right away
Look at how well NMS turned out it’d amazing because any bad people were long gone and the rush was over by the time it was good by their standards
Even on release NMS was still such a fun game and technological marvel, it still inspires me to make a game of my own one day.
Oh, it was HORRIBLE at launch. The Steam boards in particular were terrible very early on. I actually got banned for defending the game. XD
So... huh! Maybe that's a good idea then! XD
To get another account banned
I assume there is no play tests of LNF yet right?
I hope NMS eventually benifits from engine improvements done in LNF!
One could say, we have probably already been experiencing some stuff for a while
XD
"What?! Someone with a different opinion than me?! BANNED"
Launch times were very dark times. @_@
I didnt get the game until Atlas Rises
And any space sim fan KNEW what was gonna happen. ALL space games launch in poor condition. XD
Well you at least have 60 dollars to spare when you get a job
That's what I meant as in having money
Apparently not if it's writing! XD
I am inbetwern jobs atm
But before I was working as a package handler
300 dollars a week for part time
Honestly, that's not bad at all.
In any case, we're getting off topic
Oh right! Light No Fire will be great!
(I agree its above minimum wage)
Yeah
Partly because hellogames knows wtf they're doing now
HG can run circles around most dev teams out there with far fewer devs.
I’d like to point out/argue they knew what they were doing in the first place but most people had and still have shitty expectations due to the state of game design as a whole
Lots of people like to talk crap, and even more are probably used to big companies dominating the advertising side of the market. If those big ones didn’t support a game it’s often ditched to work on a more profitable model.
if released on switch, what sort of compensation can we expect in exchange for the lack of multiplayer?
Probably the same amount of compensation you received for any other game you complained about
only as much as is my right as a paying customer. would you suggest otherwise?
i suggest that previous results are a generally reliable indicator for future expectations when dealing with corporations
will light no fire get it's own discord?
if there's a vote I wouldn't mind the channels being added to this one..
@boreal bolt there is a discord for LNF
okie ty

No news yet
That makes me a sad panda
Hey... What, no.
Sad goose?
I thought quoting South Park would be humorous, but.. It seems I've been compromised 🪿
I have a theory that light no fire is the atlas last attempt to save itself by combining everything from no man's sky into one planet which is why the one planet in LNF is so much bigger and more diverse as are the races
i think HG will be done with the no man's sky universe and move on to something different with Light No Fire
I hope not cuz it would be great for HG to take what they make on LNF and incorporate it in NMS and vice versa
i've joked about another nms ARG leading up to LNF, but the theming is way off. why would ||atlas make a universe with completely different theming from a completely different time period on earth||
and the ||atlas, in the real world(in nms), will be destroyed in 16 real minutes||
||no matter what it does in its simulations, it will be destroyed||
so cool looking
