@glad wren how much progress have you made so far? Any update on the base damage potential or are you still testing some things?

From what I understand the terminal is acting like a multi-tool cabinet with the same mechanics of class range, spawning pool and related things. The head is seeded to be class and seller locked, such as that particular vendor on that particular planet will always have the head that will always be a fixed class and fixed damage potential for that head seed.
The class we end up creating is now dependent on two things. The terminal's potential to spawn an S class staff and the head's seed such that:

• If the terminal cannot spawn/create an S class (natural A class terminal can create a natural S class multi-tool, natural B class terminal can create a natural A class multi-tool, so on and so forth) staff no matter if we have an S class head seed we cannot create an S class staff.
• If the terminal can create an S class staff and we don't have an S class head seed we cannot create an S class staff.
• Both the head seed and the terminal must be able to end up being S class to generate an S class staff.

Natural S class cabinet range = A to S

There are four things a multi-tool has. The class, damage potential, starting inventory (this may not be important), supercharged slot position. We know the head is responsible for damage potential and class in particular in conjuncture with the terminal, so what's left is the starting inventory and the supercharged slots. If I am not wrong (taking a wild guess) the core determines the supercharged slots, while the pole is for starting inventory.

The reason why starting inventory is important is if the supercharged slots appear within 4x6 inventory the multi-tool is a pistol type, and if the slots appear within 4x7 inventory it's a rifle.

I've upgraded a lot of Staves from different systems using different parts and it's always the same.
Since we know where the seeds are, it should be very easy to find a 4 SQ.
We just need a B class with random SCs in Row, 2 and 3 and Column 2 or 4

• All staff multi-tool have three fixed SC slots.

After completing the new mission go to a Korvax system, find a monolith. Search around for a purple glow on that monolith. Once you reach there the structure will pop up that you can interact with. Interact with it and answer correctly, this should unlock the new multi-tool. Reload restore point now to refresh the pool (only works once).

When he upgraded to S, you saw Seed Number 1.
We know where all the seeds are. I Posted them above.

The initial Random Superchargers slots are Random, unpredictable.
But we know what slots the 3 Superchargers as we upgrade will be.
No matter what class you start with, Seed 1 will always come first, Seed 2 second, Seed 3, third and they will always be in the same slot

We only need a MT with Random Superchargers to fill the gaps

Most times, but not all, the Seeds will try and move to the next seeds slot.
Sometimes if a C Class has a Random Seeds slot the final one, seed 3 will take a Random slot.

The energy color is determined by spot location on the planet. Also by the headpiece type (updated)
The metal color also changes with the headpart part and location, but some staff parts override the metal color. As far as i tested (updated)

These staves seem all about the terminal used and the head is the only part that matters in determining the roll. As far as I can tell. As in the the runic focus doesn't innately do more dmg than the radiant heart, etc. same combo on 2 different camps, 4k dmg on one, 300 on the other, lol

I can confirm that. Tried to scrap a C-class Atlanid MT and it crashes. I also noticed the terminal said it's only 660U worth.

just fyi - your staff colors are client side only. in multiplayer, everyone's staff is set to a default blue color. In case youre like me and spent hours farming for a specific color

As far as i know the headpiece determines the class on every location.
Some locations have no S class regardless of the headpiece, while others will make the staff S for a particular headpiece
So seek out different camps and assemble the staff as it is
one of the locations will always make the staff S for your headpiece no matter the other pieces you add
