How can people tell what types of multitools planets have? I saw in a video someone had an infographic of a specific system which had all the multitools for each planet & moon and was wondering how to do the same

Unless they manually gathered all the info

They did

You find an MT cabinet, save it's location

You visit different planets, save and reload on them, go back to the cabinet

You check new model of MT there

Repeat for all planets / moons

In greater detail, you need to find a minimum of 4 differently-spawning MT cabinets to scout an entire system's models with ~95% success rate. 5 cabinets 100% guarantee you miss none.

Differently spawning = 1 each of A, B, and C Class, plus 1 or more cabinets with either a 4th model MT, else flexed duplicates.

Basically you need to guarantee that you have cabinets marked that will show all 4 different MTs for pools containing that many. Once you have the cabinets marked, you just reload game for each pool, and check your 4-5 marked cabinets each time to see every model available.

There's a rare glitch on nextgen I dont know how to reproduce where Portalling to a planet can load the planet pool MTs instead of Space Station pool. (On oldgen can be triggered by teleportation intentionally, allowing for some interesting results that nextgen players cannot duplicate)

you would have to find an Sclass cabinet on a planet. reload on the ss and then go to the cabinet. i think thats how it works anyways im not really sure. someone else can probably confirm.

Then cabinet draws a model from that pool that is available for the class it has

thats the one i went and got awhile back. is the reason i dont even have a gun equipped, just mining beam and plasma launcher.

it was tricky to find, cause it seemed like it was moved several times according to the names of bases and communication balls.

im not sure what those rewards are i never pay attention. but if they help you get good mods. then you will have better options.

find a planet with water on its surface, then go looking around

crys sulfide icons in your analysis visor have the same icon as buried minerals

youll know when you see it when you find a natural structure that kind of looks like a steam vent with 3 glowing auras on its sides, those auras have crystal sulfide that you interact with to pick up

Well if more than one power slot are touching you get a boost in damage for weapons and boost to what ever you apply into the slots. People look for rare ones that have multiple power slots touching but I just go for looks lol. And if i get power slots cool. But there really is no need to have so much damage in the game yet XD

Yeah, I figured as much. Is there a general consensus on which weapons are the best or is it mostly user preference? So far Shrapnel Blaster and Plasma Splitter are doing me quite well.

If you hold it down you get a heavy charge that spreads like a shotun. Its great for fighting sentinals

or you can just rapid fire it

When you are on a planet surface you can look inside your ship on the Huds and find planetary quards.

you will have to activate a portal

and punch in the Portal glyphs I provided in the bottom left of the picture

if you do not have the 16 glyphs you will not be able to get the weapon

They don't indicate which galaxy the player is in

The same portal glyphs will work in any galaxy, leading to totally different places

Portals only work correctly if you are in the same galaxy as the address you want to go to

This one is at a station, so just going there will be fine - you are automatically on the system multitool pool when you enter a system

But you need to switch galaxies

Check the bases at the teleporter in the Anomaly - there may be one located in Eissentam

Euclid is a Galaxy, it has systems. You want to be in a different galaxy, which the portals can't take you to.

You will need to find a way to get to Eissentam, and then use that portal address that you have.

You can do this a couple ways

Go to the Space Anomaly and check the teleporter there for bases listed in Eissentam, that will be a part of its description

There are way to find them. If you look through the posts in this server players have posted them before. You can also upgrade the ones you have with a special item. They are called memory fragments(class)

You can use the trick to reload save on other planets to change the active MT pool

And have different colors / models of royal MT at the same pillar

So when you purchase an MT, SC slots up to its Class are tied to cabinet. But when you upgrade Class, you get SC slots tied to MT seed.

@deft charm I've tried them out of curiosity, but only a couple - unless I missed something, you don't get to choose what each fragment gets applied to - if you own multiple ships and/or MTs that aren't S Class, using a Class fragment randomly ups the Class of one of them by 1 tier.

that's a pretty common model of rifle, but the glyphs are on the image. I see you got it from the coordinate exchange so it should say in it's entry what galaxy (likely Euclid but you never know). So then just make sure you're in the right galaxy and dial the glyphs at a portal

there are 256 galaxies, each one having its own systems, and between galaxies there may or may not be other systems with the same glyph address, so trial and error going to the system, seeing if it's there, and if not going to the next galaxy down the line until you find it, was the intent at least but seems excessive unless its explicitly what you're needing

It should be from that system then, the question is which planet pool is it from. Since I only have the picture to go by, I'm assuming its the space station's pool. If you portaled in on a planet, you'll be loading from that planet's pool, so go up to the station, jump out of your ship and reload there. Should be in the cabinet. If it's not, it might be from another planet's pool

Those are the Forbidden mods, you get them from Salvaged Glass dropped from Sentinels

Two things to remember:

1. Salvaged Glass has a chance to drop these mods, for both exosuit and multitool, but you can get other items as well

2. The Multitool specific mods boost only the Boltcaster weapon. As you can see in the picture, all those mods have the blue adjacency bonus border with Boltcaster

@gleaming stream Rifles/Pistols are weird, their primary colour palette is mostly pulled from the Undercoat palette, with a small number of tiles from the Paint palette transposed onto it. Their secondary colour doesnt use palettes at all, it's a textural override dependent on primary colour.

so each planet has a pool of multitools, if you reload on a planet, it will load that planet's tools into any cabinet you go to. The real trick is that class (and I believe super charged slots) are tied to the cabinet. So if you find a planet with a tool you like, check the system for an A or S class cabinet that you might be able to get the tool to load into

there's a little more to it with multitools having a base class that can only be moved by 1 level, but that's the basics

So I just extracted a pretty decent A class weapon moved all my stuff over and then had another tower I extracted a c-class exotic weapon I'm not sure what the difference is like what exotic offers mean Is it worth me exchanging everything over to it and basically grinding out the expansion slots even though it's only class C

When you're in the quick menu you can hold one key then on pc press a number key to bind the current option to that key, I forget what they are by default but they should be visible when you have the quick menu open

are you sure you are at the right cordinates? also its in the space station pool so if you reload on any different planets it will change the tool to a different one

@muted scaffold Royal and Experimental share the same stat ranges. The difference is, Royals are pretty much the only MTs in the game that ever roll high tier damage on upgrade to S, so they offer a way to get the best by investing more nanites, as opposed to time it takes to licate an Experimental that can spawn S and a cabinet to do so.

@full compass Stats for MTs are simple when it comes to purchase evaluation. Natural S Class = high tier damage, upgraded = low. Outlaw systems are a waste of time because they dont have the natural S weighting, and Royals are the only MTs that can upgrade to high tier dmg.

@slow cliff Except for Royals, any MT upgraded to S is weighted to lower tier damage, natural S weighted to higher tier - Outlaw systems are the exception, with no weighting applied at purchase, but the same low tier weighting at upgrade, so hunting MTs in those systems is just shy of pointless.

Numbers correspond to class(i.e. 1st is C, 2nd is B, 3rd is A, 4th is S-class).

Cabinets 1-3 are natural A, B, and C Class, #4 is either natural B or C, and cabinet 5 is either B flexed down from A (T1/2), C down from B (T1-3), or B flexed up from C (T3). Cabinet #6 is mainly for T1/T3, either a double downward flex from A to C, else an upward flex from B to A.
