it is bottom tier, does not mean you can not play it, but just about anything else will be more enjoyable.
i recommend warp or trance depending on the subclass u play you can also use 2 wands and swap between them to use upsides like big damage from one and utility like teleporting for free from warp.

gear wand for example gives great mana regen as swap wand, and king of hearts lets you heal bigly if your heal is not disabled

Smoke to apply marks > grab knives with a spin attack from vanish > smoke for more marks > vanish > backstab > smoke > vanish > backstab > smoke etc etc

dont swap from main hand as much as possible since that takes down knives

so ideally you just dont get hit

reup knives by consuming marks whenever you need to

knives contribute heavily to dps so keep them up as best as you can
