🚧 Cross-Region Connection Issues
We are aware of the connection issues some players are experiencing when accessing North America servers from outside the region. Unfortunately, the cause of these problems are mostly beyond our control, as they involve third-party providers like TCP Shield, which has previously contributed to massive disconnections and lag.
That said, we’ve been trying and exploring alternative solutions to improve stability. Some options perform better in certain regions than others hence why some issues arise; We are working carefully to find the right balance that offers the best experience for everyone.
If you are having connection issues on these conditions and want to help us to diagnose, we invite you to open a ticket at #contact_staff with the topic Contact the Mods
We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we continue to work for all players.
🗳️ What is changing from now on
We will be doing some changes to the overall flow of minor patches based on what we learnt:
🏷️ Better Versioning
Since we started doing biweekly updates, it has been quite troublesome to give a name to them or for the community to talk about a specific version. We believe this is caused by them not having a referenceable name, so in order to improve that, we are changing how we call each game version.
From now on, the following pattern will be used:
-# Example: 2.1.4_2, meaning major update 2.1, minor update 4, hotfix/revision 2
2.{majorUpdate}.{minorUpdate}_{revision}
Where "these updates" will be considered "minor updates" and the game version will be bumped accordingly. Alongside that, we are also planning on displaying the current game version at the character selector, that way players can easily keep track of updated worlds or be aware of possible missed changes.
📆 The Schedule
Based on your feedback, we will be moving from biweekly updates to a monthly update schedule. This change will give us more time to polish each update, deliver more meaningful content, and reduce the chances of disrupting player builds or frequently shifting the meta in frustrating ways.
We believe this is a positive change that will help us deliver updates with the quality and consistency you deserve.
🔥 Hotfixes
With the longer gap between major updates, you can expect more frequent hotfixes or smaller revisions to address any changes that weren't successful, not just to fix bugs. We want to ensure the game remains enjoyable and playable without waiting an entire month for improvements.
We are also committing to publishing changelogs either at the time a hotfix goes live or by the end of the day, even if it contains a single change. This should provide better transparency around changes and reinforce our ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the game.
⚔️ Better Changelogs
We understand that item changelogs can be difficult to read, and we have plans on improving how they're structured to make them clearer and more user-friendly. While these changes may take a little time to implement, please know that this is on our radar!
