Okay, here's my theory behind it, of course this is most likely wrong because of my lack of lore knowledge but here's how it is

Orphion gave that elder elf the vision that the Guardian of the forest is the key to everything, obviously the elves read that message very wrong and they end up killing the fucking guardian which they were meant to protect, when they were announcing that they are going to cut the guardian Lari comes to stop them because of her pacifist nature, orphion saw that in her and maybe was like "hmmm this pacifist girl she understood what I meant I shall grant her my light for protecting the guardian" And that's how the choosing went

And after alot of years of choosing her orphion just went "well shit I've invested too much in her now I'll have to just hope she just gets over this pacifism phase that she's having" And hopes for change in the future until he meets us that is

and it is just a theory with some good evidence, so I think you aren't giving yourself enough credit by calling it "wrong"

When we are left alone with Two, she says that our absence "the shards destabilize". Going further into the story, it seems that "shards" is used to describe a future... unless I'm wrong. Secondly... the cutscene of Two going up to a mirror and calling something out from it with Two saying "Emerge"... do we get further context to what was going on here?||

Tasim is a guy who’s seemingly used to running away from his problems(recover the past ending), and when we finally meet him in Fruma the despair he felt from witnessing Gavel and Wynn being set pieces to an eternal war beyond their control had him spiraling.

As he realizes this isn’t a situation he could just run from, he desperately finds his solution in the queen of Fruma, who promises him to control the uncontrollable. Ironically, she ends up doing to Fruma what Orphion and Saphanis do to Wynn and Gavel.

It’s nice, tasim is clearly flawed but they actually write well now so it’s less of a Lari situation where the writing was a lot more tell don’t show. And they didn’t need to excessively dunk on tasim like they had to with lari (never forget she’s somehow the only elf BANNED from cinfras lmfao)
