you misunderstand i think. More like, psionics in d&d use THEMSELVES, their soul, their willpower, their lifeforce, their mind, all that to say their very being, as their own personal Weave. Instead of drawing magic from something they create it themselves. Stuff like anti-magic fields don't work on psionics since they just fully seperate themselves from the base magic system

"We are seen as lesser" maybe, like psionics users being lesser, but still ehhhhh, more likely talking about "us" (the player and the hoarder) being lesser then whoever "their sort" is
