Well, sexuality is a different thing from the dysmorphia that is transgenderism. How exactly would it work, beyond it just being a tidbit/fun fact. How would that exactly work in the world that’s been developed, beyond just saying it and leaving it at that. Sexuality is one thing, but having an entirely different thought process, genetic makeup, and dysmorphia is a complicated topic to implement.

It’d pose some questions about how you would implement that. Would it be a standard implementation, where they like their body and keep it as, or would they attempt some kind of transition, and how would they, if they did? And, then, how many more characters would go through with it, if it’s developed? Would it be a single character? Multiple? Would this concept of in world transitioning even be seen again?

Just feels like the concept is either simplistic, or needs a very specific justification for its inclusion, so it doesn’t end up rude or poor taste

i think you might be misinterpreting what they meant. (or i am but ill explain what i think they meant regardless). Transgender characters are just simply a lot harder to implement than other characters since it almost necessitates more world building, which wynn already sort of struggles with. Is there some sort of magic that can transition people? If so since it’s easier would there be more trans people. with fantasy races do they have different concepts of gender than humans

Other forms of representation are much easier. See afelis and mel, simply refer to a character with they/them pronouns. Where as with a trans character, if it’s let’s say a trans woman, unless there’s actively a scene where someone misgenders them or they make it a point to say “hi i’m trans” it’s incredibly difficult to convey.

Then that does create a different issue though of like “this is only in game for the sake of representation” Not that it’s necessarily a problem, but when stuff is done purely for representation is has a tendency to sour peoples opinions of piece of media (see the entire MCU as first example that comes to mind) The nonbinary characters don’t really have that problem since it’s quite literally one word that changes for some of them, being pronouns used to refer to them. While something like those would be a lot more major and would almost feel out of place considering how little day to day magic is explored right now as it is.

I mean I feel like you can have trans themes without a trans character. You dont need it to be direct. A character can express wants to be of the opposite gender, or feel a desire to achieve a certain body. (see, undertale mad mew mew and mettaton).

I think the main thing is just fitting such a storyline into wynn since it doesnt ever really discuss gender or such, more about greater world stuff and fantasy themes. Though of course you can have stories about both intertwined, but the lack of precedent as well as the difficulty of pulling that off makes it difficult to approach

some areas of exploration I think could be perhaps linking into familial topics or military roles (though latter might be harder because wynn doesnt really have the same context of armies in relation to gender irl)

I’ll go do that now, maybe my brain will expand to match Selvut’s thought process when it comes to the funny floaty people

I’m aware that this is me trying to make something visual for a concept that very well shouldn’t be visual, but whenever the concept of a duo Weird Lake Gylia boss altar battle springs up into my mind, one idea always stuck

I’m not exactly sure why, but for a couple months now I’ve had this parasitic image engrained into my head of one or both of the Weird bosses having an attack where bursts of magic erupt out of their limb holes and head

Sort of like Doctor Who’s regenerations
(If you look it up you’ll know what I mean)

But the magic flows in sort of large, pre-determined paths that form really elaborate curves

With the threads of light erupting out of the Chaos-aligned Weird boss while the Order-aligned Weird boss will have threads going inwards instead

(That’s the boss visual idk what the attacks will actually be)

I’m not exactly sure why my mind came up with that all those months ago, I guess my misconception of what Weirds were and represent caused me to think that this was a pretty “loopy” looking attack and thought the aesthetic fit

Those concepts you’ve mentioned still can be accurate representations of how a weird boss would operate, though. They can, really, operate however you want it to, as long as it’s done well/looks cool.

I had an idea where weirds would sort of start pouring from your own spells, making fighting the actual boss itself be what causes the attack patterns increased complexity. Winning the fight would simply be how much of the arena can be destroyed until whatever is creating the weirds is too displaced to actively keep pursuing you.

Have your health regen quickly back to base to showcase how not attacking consistently is the goal, as well

Okay I checked Olinus and I found what I think is supposed to be the two meteors but the thing is they are way smaller than the ones that crashed in the secret discovery

And then there’s these two you loop and curve around before witnessing the Gylia’s Cataclysm secret discovery

   I think I would be asking a lot of other unrelated questions

There’s a lot of stuff that’s surface level; but then you get stuff like the twain storyline or feathers fly questline which, while they may have faults, are really good despite their assumed lack of depth

Has there been any effort to study the characterization of the player character? We see they misinterpret phrases like "take care of" to mean kill the problem in quests like Cluck Cluck and The Shadow of the Beast. Then there is the mystery of the missing or nonexistent memories from Recover the Past. Then, their ability to act with a kind of Utilitarian perspective is what permits them to align with Orphion in Taproot. And of course, the usernames of the players seem to be their canonical name, while other characters stated to be from Fruma do not have such unique names.

My personal theory for our origin is that we were born into a sort of testing facility to experiment on the memory suppressing magic that the fruman government uses on the new Wynn recruits. I’d imagine that there’d have to be a lot of trial and error that those who have had their memories erased didn’t always go exactly as planned, whether adding to a casualty count, or turning them into useless vegetables, unable to aid in any sort of war effort.

The new archivist dialogue implies that the most recent sort of diplomatic alliance/deal with fruma and Wynn happened around 900 AP, so it’s entirely possible that they have been testing and changing the way the process works to ensure that they can continuously send reinforcements, whilst also keeping up the status quote of fruma

It’d explain why we have zero past, because we were essentially born of memory wiped soldiers, as to test the genetic defects visible/potential in the memory suppressed humans

Each level is a chapter starting with level 1 and a blank mind and slate, getting progressively longer as content increases all the way to 105 as the player is shown the visions in a hunter’s calling

i thought more about a full on novel, trying to "take away" the leveling aspect and replacing it with character develpoment instead of a mechanic system

we do not know yet what classify as relam beast beyond being in plane of influences

He's the metaphysical embodiment of death, owns the realm of death, and implied that someone with enough power to sway him wants you alive, which I can only assume is Orphion.
While we know of 3 realms that are for sure are on the Plane of Influence, the tree guardian thingy did specifically say that there were more.
The realm where souls go after death is definitely not a physical realm, implying a realm of influence.
A realm beast is a metaphysical embodiment of their realm, both of which are metaphysical embodiments of concepts, of which we know of Light, War, and Dark. I think the Realm of Death, and by extension, Death himself fit this definition.

It's probably not on the physical plane like pocket realms, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's on the plane of influence.

In any case, we don't know what plane Death's realm exists on, but if it's on the Plane of Influence (which would make sense as the only other plane we know of is the physical one), then Death is a realm beast.

So we can't say for certain, but signs point to him being a realm beast.

Yeah- absolutely. I've been trying to catalog every sapient species in Wynncraft, just as a way to roleplay and have fun, and then I got past the first part of Gavel and realized how many of them didn't even have a single interactable NPC. I had to figure out if they were sapient from context clues a lot of the time.

The only one that doesn't have definite proof that they're sapient is Werecats, but they spawn near the other sapient cat races so-
I think they probably are. The rest I'm certain of by either advanced tool use, building actual homes, or straight up communication.

Even without Werecats, Gavel at least had 26 sapient races before humans arrived (excluding Void Villagers, but including Giants as there is evidence that Giants once lived in Gavel.)
Which is already too damn many.

I hc that naga are some less advance civilization that been steamroll by villagers during their quest and naga temple was their capital
after the decay, naga would have no chance to recover to the height they were and fade into obscurity

Like, they could make a secret council of the various races of Gavel a whole plotline. Make their existence born out of the seeming extinction of the Giants, and they control in secret to try and make sure no other race goes extinct. They'd be the reason food keeps getting sent to the Gerts.

Got it. Honestly, most of the sapient races in Gavel are in ten Canyon of the Lost, and most of those are anthros.
That feels like it would be a plot point, especially since those meteors have clearly warped sapient races in the past, but nope.

Wait, Unwilling Lycanthropes exist, so Werewolves aren't, as even if they can think, they're technically not their own race.
Still unclear on Werecats though.

The Canyon ALONE has 11, maybe 12 sapient races native to it, assuming dwarves and doguns are native to the molten heights, because otherwise it's 13/14.
That seems like it would have a plot point involved, BUT NOPE.
