Lol
nobody talked about alpine today
he might have actually, he's from 85 so he would be 17 in 2002
well, not here cause it's the wrong channel š
He couldve but didn't
imagine Ferrari does a special one-off livery for their American races, blue and white as an homage to NART
Iād like that
yeah that would be cool

@molten salmon when you're available, check this out. flat-12 sounds š„µ
āI canāt hurt myself, but I know I can hurt the carā
:/
Today it marks a sad 40th anniversary of the death for one of best drivers Ferrari ever had.
quite sad
Rene and Gilles were best friends
i think everyone liked Gilles at the time
yeah he was an absolute fan favorite
if there was a Most Popular Driver award in F1 like there was in NASCAR
Gilles would have taken a lot of it throughout his career
i don't mean by the fans, i mean by his peers š
yeah that too
but he was really a person you did not wanna piss off
hmm maybe
A blue and white f1-75 would be insane
Gilles celebrating his home win at Canada 1978 with Jacques Villeneuve and Uncle Jacques Villeneuve
As a porsche 917 enjoyer, I agree
Best in my book
The balls it takes to drive a car of that danger at that capacity, is just incredible
Happy or no?
you're saying Gilles is better so.. probably not š
it's a cool gif to replace a Webbah as well š
Magic
god didnt want another brazilian dying
Still an absolutely tragic weekend
Latifi the goat
He wouldn't've if Sid didn't get his tongue out of his gullet
yeah
Sid Watkins
in fact Rubens actually suffered a concussion in that Imola crash
so Rubens had barely any memory of the following weeks
he didn't remember being at Senna's funeral or being a pallbearer
or hearing news about Rolands death
he basically had a sort of amnesia for most of May
My man this is f1 classic
I don't think that's f1 cars
hello
Hallo
F1 cars without sidepods
Oh yeah its private
Ah
VERY classic
Haha
I really like the livery, what car is that?
That gives me Minardi vibes
Yes, but which one
Just looked it up
The m191
Had a 6 speed v12 manual
In 1992 they switched to a Lamborghini engine from a Ferrari one
Thanks
damn that looks so good
this livery is really clean
It is
somewhat basic, but it's definitely clean
I have more
if we're gonna talk about underrated drivers, he's gotta be up there
man is certainly the best driver for Minardi
aside from 1992 when he was with Dallara, he drove all of his career with them
Minardi M191 from 1991. It had a Ferrari V12 from 1989 and later got the one from 1990
He also competed a race with Toleman in 1984
It was the italian GP and he qualified last, so he got a DNQ
ye
Alain Prost driving the Renault RE-30 (1981) around Monza
7 Times Formula One World Champions and 1997 Formula One World Champion
Epic
is this a good livery? also, what car is this? i have no idea if this is a car sponsored by benetton or if it is the benetton car itself (the team)
does anyone know the gearboxās gear ratio of McLaren MP4/4 IRL?
cuz i need those data for one of my game
The Benetton B186. What a cool car
It gave Gerhard Berger and Benetton their first ever F1 victory during the 1986 Mexican GP
ah, so it is a benetton. i can agree, it is a nice car
That's the first Benetton, the B186
A lot of horsepower lol
Me when the Bar
Benelton, team is something else
The team is not something else
It's 1986
In 1983-5 they sponsored Tyrrell, Alfa Romeo and Toleman
In 1986 Benetton acquired Toleman and Spirits' assets
Woahhh yeallow ferrari
You'll get a good response in #f1-technical
isn't gear ratios the kind of things you tweak in practice anyway?
For the MP4/4 it'd be different all the time
It's not like since the Hybrid regs were gear ratios were fixed
Yellow yum
they should 100% do a yellow special ferrari livery
Current one is fixed onto one specific value for each season
berger won both their first and last win
Itās almost poetic
yep, so maybe youāre not aware, but as skippy has said, itās a very recent thing š
The technically Lamborghini works team. Like that actually helped the Modena team
yeah he also joined Ferrari after leaving Benetton
then joined Benetton after leaving Ferrari
Before George Russel dragged his Williams in the front grid, Damon dragged his uncompetitive Arrows into P3 at Hungary 1997, and he could have won the race if the Arrows didn't suffer from the usual mechanical issues on the last lap of all things
this isnāt what we define as classic, please read the channel description
ok but maybe someone want to remember not only race before 2000's
ok then wait
What a combination! š

Benetton B186
With a BMW engine itās the most powerful F1 car ever built so far with 1350+hp
Also it got a win in Mexico with Gerhard Berger at the wheel

The 2022 Monaco Historic Grand Prix sees classic F1 and sportscars race around the same track that modern Formula 1 and even Formula E cars use to this very day. This year the event has expanded to include cars right up to the middle of the 1980s, with the like of Lotus, Ferrari, Williams, Cooper, Brabham, McLaren, Shadow and more doing battle w...
Was just about to post that, figured I wasnāt going to be the first
I love seeing cars that can actually make it around those Monaco turns with room to spare
oh itās already now, cool
A fight that, probably, few people knows about. After the qualify of the Canadian Grand Prix, in 1982, Chico Serra and Raul Boesel had a stiff discussion, which followed by a fight between the two brazilians. Serra was performing his last flying lap during the session. Then Boesel has blocked him. This prevented Serra to advance into the grid, w...
Awtsj Leclerc just crashed a priceless f1 car from Niki Lauda, can't blame him, he had problems with breaking

reminder: Damon was never upset about Adelaide and even said he'd probably do the same thing Michael did in his place
so I don't think he really had an issue with driving that car
Painful to watch
Yep
Is it the tires maybe?
that too
It wasn't about Adelaide, but generally it feels little bit weird to see a driver drive their rivals car, I'd have the same feeling if I see Fernando driving the RB6 or the RB8.
Yeah
also I think the Superhards were the tyres which were used for shakedowns the most
like the one Ferrari did in Daytona in 2015 with the F2009
I would love to see Montoya in a Ferrari F2004 or Irvine in a MP4/14
This has been one of the most impressive things Iāve ever seen, in almost 20 years in formula 1. A torro rosso with minardi DNA coursing through its veins, driven by a 21 year old hotshoot with a great sense of humour. It just makes you love formula 1 all over again⦠heās about to take his first Grand Prix victory and become the youngest winner ever
is it real that Charles Leclerc has crashed the Niki Lauda`s Ferrari F1?
The people at the Corse Clienti program are responsible iirc
didn't he have some brake problems too or am I misremembering
legendary Red Five Nigel Mansell piloting his unbeatable Williams FW14B to another commanding win
(Even though he was involved in a collision with Ayrton Senna at that particular track and dnfāed)
Don't ruin the caption ffs
Red five?
Was he part of the red arrows??
Sorry
Or am i waffling
I know he dnf'ed there, it was just a picture of really good quality and those aren't easy to find from that era
Red 5 is Luke Skywalker
It was a moniker used for Nigel because he had a red number 5 on his car during his stint at Williams
it was unique because the other Williams would always have a white number
and won the title there as well, truly an exceptional driver all round
One of Indycarās best rookies
and then he comes back to F1 as an IndyCar champion in '94 and wins races again, including the controversial Adelaide
yeah, the 5 was taken by Michael and Benetton
I do wonder what could've happened had Williams retained him for '95, I don't think a championship struggle with Michael would've been out of question
It would have been interesting⦠but I donāt think Mansell would go far, considering heās 42 in 1995.
But hey, if Mansellās at Williams, then that means that Coulthard would join Mclaren 1 year early
DC did agree terms with McLaren for '95 because his understanding was that Nigel would be driving for Williams but then Frank pulled a Frank and decided to go for DC instead, leaving DC without any choice because he still had a binding contract with Williams
and Marlboro forced Ron into taking Nigel, we all know how that story went
And then throughout the 95 season you had Mark Blundell and J-Mag (briefly) partnering Hakkinen
DC didn't miss out on much anyway, MP4/10 was a wash for McLaren standards
He did come back to F1 but still did another season in 1994
Also Mansell did run in 95 of course with McCedes and tried the Jordan 196
now he cant crash at monaco
yeah and atleast the 95 Williams was a race-winning car
when does he win another one?
Well⦠if Suzuka 1990 went on normally and the fates turned their favor towards Prost, then Senna would only be a one time champion
Lmao yup
he definitely was no match for these 14B
not in that car
his mp4s coudl rip ass
ah how classic
V-10 > V-12
Sounded way cooler
Why not Both.
Also I'm surprised how the Honda V12 sounded so harsh with the lower buzz as opposed to the scream
the parking lot circuit
the original parking lot circuit
yeah williams were too technologically advanced and honda had fallen back behind Renault already by 92
It was bumpy as hell but I wonder if there were any other worst US Formula 1 races other then Caesars Palace?
Dallas races
yeah rhe v12 route wasnāt the one
Dallas I thought was a good race with Mansell almost dying from heat exhaustion
š¤£
Well at least one of the upsides is Williamsā first win with Honda power
delete
š
one of the coolest looking f1 cars to date imo
I agree
yeah this Brabham looks very cool
What year is that?
Top: 1996
Bottom: 1997

leclerc crash in the monaco history grand prix
His brakes blew up
^^
aaaaa ok
I mean they were almost 50 year old brakes
AHHH, let me have this
well it didnt make the brakes any stronger if they just changed it to new 1974 spec brakes
Leclerc probably just misjudged the braking point
those old cars had weaker brakes
Couldāve been newer brakes
Who knows?
resulting in sbin
Yes
better than modern monaco*
the track is fine, the cars arent
I am aware it is a tight track but the size of these modern cars make it horrible
we need to downsize the 2026 car tbh
it would make Monaco and Baku racing better
racing in general would be better
6-wheel Williams
this looks beautiful
daaaaamn
f1 2003 fans know this track
You know it says the name of the track on the map
ik
So even if youād never seen the track before youād know it
you might see it when watching f1 1900's / 2002 / 2003
it's beyond the scope of this channel š
Plus no one knows this
Can we all agree that the Mclaren MP4/4 was the most dominant car in f1 history.
yes
Statistically, yes
Rouen les Essarts?
no, Circuit Bremgarten, circuit in switzerland (holding the Swiss GP), but after the 1955 Le Mans catastrophe it got cancelled and never hold the gp due to a prohibition of motorsport races in Switzerland
And then in 1982, the Swiss GP was held at Dijon Prenois
Yes

That pic isnt real
Lol
Ya thatās real dude
If he didnāt crash then I mean he couldāve won the championship then but then again he had a puncture on the last Grand Prix at Japan soā¦
maybe yes, maybe no$
schumacher so goat he can drive on 3 wheels in pouring rain
Yeap
Probably not
Yep thats the real deal pahaha
Cars then were built different
Probably my favorite F1 car ever. So simple, yet so beautiful. All the lines flow, all the edges, its so majestic
Yes it is lol
throwback when Michael blitzed the Championship.
@worldly tangle you look clapped
Thanks bro
Man's still going in the two seater at 82
Started on pole, finished third
Which drivers had a veto clause or a huge sporting/director stake in the team where they can choose their teammate etc.
Senna Lotus comes to mind
Any more?
Why was he called for that last race? Driver injury?
I need to see pics of this
Yes
career ending injury, but ferrari could still win the wcc
Gilles died at Zolder and Pironi had a carrer-ending crash with Prost in a GP that i forgor
I think Prost once said that every time it rained while he was on track he remembered that crash
yeah he didn't fancy the rain after that
Sad
really, but then he lost good friends that year so it makes sense
i doubt he remembers fondly of this season
they're quite nice looking, plenty of different designs
That Brabham is sexy
How the Ferraris went from looking beyond based in 1982 to toy cars in 83 and 84 is beyond me
Actually from the top it still looks hot
But they increased the engine cover height and seemingly reduced the wheelbase
Other than that I actually wanna see that front end on the 82 car
Nevermind it happened
This car out Pizzas' the hut bro
this huge roll hoop lol
Man 1982 cars were hot
Yes
That beauty as well
Shame they couldn't nail the useage of carbon fibre
Yeah
@meager pewter if you could pick any, and I mean any F1 car, which would you say is your favorite in terms of shape/design?
I will 3d model and print it
I know tough question
Iāve already done Mp4/6 and F2004
But every other car is up for grabs
I'm massively indecisive so this doesn't help when your periods of design are 1982 and 2008 for polarisation

Understandable
Iāve spent more time deciding what car to model than actually modelling it before
I usually do road cars
Because they print better
i think Ducarouge was always quite conservative as far as carbon fibre was involved, even when he moved to Lotus
I think I might go for the 126C2 from 82... Yeah
The Ferrari?
ye
Sounds good
Coz you've already done a 90's and 00's
Ye
regulations got tighter
But my god were those things beautiful
Hell I even liked the late 00s cars and even the Early 10s but the turbo-hybrids just looked like you tried to draw one from memory and got the proportions all wrong
They just look akward
yeah
Iām can tolerate these 22 cars alright, not my favorite but at least they are cool to look at, and i feel the newer aero and regs like the halo actually fit into the design
yeah we're getting loads of curves again i like this
Not those boxy awkwardly proportioned ones
Hereās what your taste in F1 cars says about the type you are attracted to!
@meager pewter this one alright, with the front wing and the normal rear wing?
Believe me I've died multiple times from 2009 regs
In real life?
This boi?
the front wing need to trail the nose a bit
you don't need a front wing
Dem 80s engineers were some pretty wild dudes
Well I know but if Kuartz is gonna do a front wing model
š
Well thatās up for you to decide
2009 regs are like recent corporate logos
My favourite spec of the C2 is like me with Maidens
Wingless

What race?
Watermark is negligible, look good?
Les gooo
Im a huge fan of '87 cars
Why?
As if this year's Aston Martin safety car is slow
I honestly believe that, with the exception of the Monaco Lambo safety car, the 1996 Mercedes was the start of the "fast" safety cars in F1
Bro I was just genuinely curious coz I'm not well like... Versed with 1984-88 design
were the 94/95 Benetton's particularly good cars, or was Michael just that great?
The 94 benetton felt awful to other drivers other than Michael
The 1995 car was actually bangin bruv
Oh wait hey same dude
i wonder how fast the /3 could have been if it had the Honda engine instead of the TAG
John Watsonās last F1 appearance
I just like the long, low and wide look they have
The '87 williams and mclarens especially
Looks so sleek
perfection
In 1984, drivers who achieved Pole position would have won a trophy and a brand new Scooter from Piaggio. Nelson Piquet got 9 poles that year and was given 9 scooters. One of them pictured here.

Piquetās Pole Position Piaggios
Lol
well the 94 Benetton was made to be more suitable to Michael and in all fairness J.J Lehto and Jos Verstappen aren't really the best of drivers
Mr. Monaco speeding through the Green Hell | 1962 German Grand Prix
and hamilton would have the entire factory
excellent season he had.
1984 for Piquet
last two columns, you have pole on the left and race result on the right
Yea
arguably his best non-winning championship year.
Prost had a lot of wins for the same season too and still lost out
I think he won seven races of the 16 races
I'd argue Prost would have got more wins that year if it wasn't for the unreliable gearbox issues weren't happening.
in other news, Sky is Blue.
I'd even consider 1984 for Piquet to be a better season performance wise to 1987
I would assume you saying this because of how he was post-Imola during the ā87 season
Generally in '87 Piquet wasn't at his best, even the 3 race wins he's got were inherited, he also got away with mutliple driver error that year such as spins mid-race.
I always forget just how damn unreliable those cars were š¤£
You should have sern the qualifying engine for the 80s especially the m12/13
They would only last 1 lap
Yep
Still find it wild that Schumi almost wasnāt in F1⦠he could have been a 7 time wdc⦠in endurance racing! š¤£
oh he would have been, his Mercedes teammates all joined F1
Fair
he probaby still wouldve got a seat at Sauber
he, Wendlinger, and Heinz-Harald were the Mercedes junior superstars and both of them got a seat at the Merc-powered Sauber team
how did he die?
He suffered a heavy crash while testing a Can Am car at goodwood
Taken from us too young.
Good to see his Legacy living on in Motorsport...
it was quite unlucky as well
he crashed into a marshals post that was the only structure in the open track
and that marshals post was also supposed to be taken down years ago
The last win for a manual gear was Schumacher in 1992 at Spa
Also his first win
Also one of the biggest qualifying gaps Iāve seen in a long time.
Does anyone have pictures of Martin brundle on the podium
holy shit 1:50????

Probably because of rain
The fastest cars would have been lapping in the 1:47ās-1:48ās if it were dry
If it was in the rain I think senna wouldnāt of been 2.2 seconds behind
And more like 0.5-1.0 seconds behind
Nigelās Qualifying that season is just⦠incredible
Also, every race in 92ā was won by a British team

Don't suppose that Hype Energy was the first energy drinks sponsor in F1
ye with Sauber?
O
yeah Red Bull came in before Hype
In 1999, Villeneuve joined the newly founded British American Racing (BAR) team. There was a lot of media hype about the new squad, but despite the high expectations and promising times during winter testing, BAR had a poor season, retiring consecutively from the first eleven races and not scoring a single Championship point. From the 16 Grands ...
look at the car spinning. looks like its two cars spinning. the dual livery approach

nah he's 2 inches shorter than Alonso

jacky ickx just said that in his time of f1, the car left the ground 17 times on the nordsschleife
airplane
crazy scaryyy
yes but some were also in the vicinity of 6 feet tall.
i.e. Nico Hulkenberg and James Hunt
Iāll take the one in the background
Yh Iām glad I focused on the classic f1 race over Monaco. Happy that Perez got the win after red bull took the win off him last race
ye quite wild lol
he also said before sitting in his car, he looked left, right, at his peers, thinking āiām not sure i will see them alive againā
man seems genuinely blessed to have been able to reach the age of 77 when he drove cars at that time, and was just enjoying the race and poking fun at the other caster
yeah
Ickx still drives every now and then
in historic events
and he usually shows up at endurance races
ye he said he drove his 312B2 at the same race that Charles binned the B3
and he was happy to have been able to get in, and most of all get out, without help š
he didn't blabber too much about things of the past, and said it was dumb to compare eras
so i've got more respect for him now
š¤£
Lol
Question: does Scheckter partake in Historic events still ?
i don't know, i didn't see the Monaco historic gp sadly
Three-times F1 world champion, Nelson Piquet, explains why he didn't attend Ayrton Senna's funeral.
Interesting take from Piquet
yeah, can't blame him for being dishonest on this account
Taken from the "Official Tribute to Ayrton Senna" DVD released in 2004. This shows Ayrton testing Williams, McLaren and Toleman F1 cars.

"After the United States GP at Detroit last year, Bernie Ecclestone and the Mayor of Detroit told us how 1989 would see the Grand Prix held on a new permanent circuit built on an island in the Detroit River. Everyone cheered, being tired of the awful street circuit in downtown Detroit, but now the Belle Isle circuit is not going to be built, so that is the end of Detroit for the United States GP. Hurrah! some of us said and looked forward to a return to the majestic Osterreichring; but no, being first reserve means as much as being 51st reserve, and a circuit at Laguna Seca on the west coast of America is being got ready (we hope!) for the United States GP."
whatlmao
they wanted to race at Belle Isle or Seca
Bruh, was the B194 a top three, I really don't believe it was
2000?
who would be second?
What?
you say top 3
i think top 1 would be williams, but who is top 2?
The Benetton 194 was built for Michael to be a top 3

Today's Martin Brundle birthday, here's a picture of him in the B192.
A Talented driver who unfortunately couldn't be in the right place at the right time
True that
except 92
i felt in 92 he sucked at qualifying but made up for it in the race (example: 1992 japan qualified: 13, finished: 3.)
same with the Belgium race
Ah we'd have seen a lot different things if flav had kept him for Benetton
Which he did regret.
He was being put under pressure because the team wasn't Italian enough
We've seen what happens with a team when they become Italian lol
Heās been dead

his finest drive? @agile surge thoughts?
most definitely his finest drive
treacherous conditions, a shit car, and yet a win by over 40 seconds
Yall know francois cevert?
yes
thats why hes the goat
Yea, what about him?
He has to be the most beautiful F1 driver i ever seen
In what way, as in facial features?
Sad that he died cuz of the injuries
His eyes looks nice as hell
He was almost decapitated apparently
Yea,can agree
Yea i know
Happly he didnt died like koinigg
Bruh his eyes as blue as the ocean
It says here"Cevert died instantly ofĀ massive injuries inflicted by the barrier. Cevert had crashed violently in the uphill Esses heading onto the back of the circuit. Fighting the car as he went up the hill, he brushed the curb on the left, whipped across the track and hit the guardrail on the right."
Ooh
Yea Watkins wasn't suited for f1 back than
Yea
Two deaths, about 2 years apart
Yea his crash was terrifying
So happy to see the halo now
Im probably not allowed to post it
Just send dm
Yea, same thing could've. happened to Grosjean
Yea, also same thing could've happened to Mick
Top 3 best ever drive in my opinion, Senna's drive in the Portuguese GP of 1985 and Jackie Stweart in Germany 1968.
You know tom pryce?@signal flint
Pryce was Welsh?

Benetton was the 90s and late 80s
He hit a marshal straight on, killing himself and the marshal
I am still wondering how lauda's helmet flew off tho
Yea, ik
Possibly the most gruesome accident in F1's history
It was on properly, and the g forces of the spin
Nah, Konig was worse
I see
Still, could be worse, at least it wasn't Italy 1961, where 15 spectators and Wolfgang Von Trips all died
Well probably the spin gforces
Yea, I forgot about that
Oh i know that

People blamed Riccardo Patrese for the accident
Patrese even got banned from the US grand prix
"F1 isnt a sport" they say
The 1955 Le Mans disaster was a major crash that occurred on 11 June 1955 during the 24 Hours of Le Mans motor race at Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, Sarthe, France. Large pieces of debris flew into the crowd, killing 83 spectators and French driver Pierre Levegh, and injuring nearly 180 more.
Huh, but he wasn't even near Ronnie apparently
And Schekters crash was dramatic
Nvm not Shektef
There was another at Monza I think that was just sand and fire
I remember reading somewhere Hunt, Lauda, Fittipaldi and Scheckter were withdrawing if no action was taken on Patrese (i.e: receiving a race-ban).
Rindt ?
I don't think there was any fire during Rindt's accident
Not f1 but still horryfying
Sophia Floersch's accident
Ye
I am only 4 steps away of being a f1 driverš
Also did the person who flew in in a 911 gt1 survive
So far
Whoa
Yannick Dalmas?
Idk the name
It was on the Mulsane
Just coming up the the end by the hill and it just took off
I think you're thinking of Peter Dumbreck
Yea
Just like the Mercedes, the GT1 shows off its incredible flying ability!(I do not own this content, but I uploaded it with the purpose of sharing it).
It quite a famous clip
It was Road Alanta?
It looks to much like Le Mans
eh...
Yeah, he did
All the CLR's kept taking off
Umm
What?
Yea effectively the same
The same corner too
Tamberello
Ye
Nelson Piquet (1987)
Gerhard Berger (1989)
Michele Alboreto (1991)
Riccardo Patrese (1992)
and Senna died at the exact same corner.
Ye
Michele alboreto
Also we just not gonna talk about how Barrichelo walked away from a 126 g impact at Imola
Why does it sound like borrito
Oh i am gonna bring that up
Is that the one in the image?
How tf did he live
Ye
You can just see him covering his helmet right as he impacts the tire wall
It doesn't look like an f1 car
Neck too pro
Well, that's just how the 1994 Jordan looked
Apex:i shall throw you in to the air
?
Hmm
This
Alboreto
Looks like F2 or F3
No, that was the Footwork car
Huh
The rear wing looks unusually large
Ooh shit, who's that
What i know is its a lotus thats all
Yeah
Yea a type 78 by the looks of it
Ye
That's why I never heard of em
The more you know
The 78 looked oddly like an M23
It's probably because of the intakes
I was gonna say him
Bruh
I mean I was right
Ye
Ronnie Peterson wasn't the only Swedish driver who died in 1978
Gunnar Nilsson, who also drove and won for Lotus died due to cancer
Ppl in the past looks way better than the current styles ngl
At any motorsports really
Obv, JPS overalls are best ones
Ronnie Peterson
Gunnar Nilsson
Rickard Rydell
Stig Blomqvist
Marcus Ericsson (Indy 500 Winner!)
Very true
Especially Finland and Sweden
Don't forget Norway. They have Petter Solberg
Yea
Ralf schummacher
The Fins are better at rally tho
USA 2004
chad detected,opinion accepted
I want a jacket in JPS colours
Nah, I'd say their performances in F1 and Rally are equally matched.
Rally drivers have bigger balls
True
Especially Group B
Group B was the peak of rallying
Shame it ended due to Henri Toivonen's accident in 1986
Henri Toivonen my beloved
Wow they sell it here
Gimme
Lol
It'll go well with my Lotus shirt

This is nice

Very, but I prefer mine with tabbaco sponsors
He's thinking about Ricciardo
Lol
OTD in 1970: We lost Bruce McLaren in a fatal accident in a testing session for his Can-Am car, he was a pioneer, a legend, the founder of McLaren. He was only 32.
Gone to soon, like any racing fatality
Did Ronnie die at Monza?
he died at the hospital after his accident at Monza, but that was just unlucky cause itās not directly from his wounds.
Was it a practise session? Which corner? Cause of crash?
wtf lol
Credit card information?
race, variante del rettifilo, 3 into a chicane donāt make it
Rip
F
it was at the start of the race
he was caught up in a multiple car crash due to the bad race start as the race was started before all the cars could line up orrectly in their grid positions
and as a result a bunch of cars got away well and horrible and Peterson fell down the order and Riccardo Patrese swerved away from the entry to the old banking and into James Hunt who went into Ronnie Peterson
Petersons car went across the track into the barrier and caught on fire
and Arturo Merzario (I think) was hit in the head with a wheel and knocked into a coma but survived
and James Hunt got Peterson out of the crash
Peterson initially looked to recover well as he sustained many fractures on his legs but looked minor
but fat leaked into his blood and died of a fat embolism overnight at the hospital
Patrese was blamed by a lot of the drivers for the incident and was even accused of murder but the charges were dropped because he had no control of the crash
Bruhhh ik it was a wet race, but that many dnfs??? Thats pretty crazy
What are the 4 steps
thatās the usual then
Thanks a lot you goat @frozen prism

Im in karting aswell
What series do you race in
1985?
What track is that
1984, Zandvoort
Man was just reading newspaper before winning his 3rd world championship
Thanks
after this race he's just 0.5pts in front of Prost, with 3 races to go
Who was it?
Congrats @signal flint, you're now on lap 20
Stfu Carlbot
who was who?
The guy reading the newspaper in the car, I recognise the helmet just don't know the name
Niki Lauda
Oh yea, I forgot he raced for Mclaren
after his unretirement, yes
and after McLaren gave him a big chunk of money to hire him
So he did a Nigel Mansell, before Nigel Mansell did a Nigel Mansell
yeah
funnily enough Mansell quit only after 2 races because the car couldn't be built to suit him as he was tall
Ye I heard of that before
I heard McLaren made a slightly bigger chassis so he could fit in
The thing that allowed me to tell that it was Niki is Parmalat
"tall" is certainly one way of saying "fat"
But Mansell had got fit for IndyCar in 1993 and 1994
he got fit, then he got fat
On december 17, 1999, Martin Brundle tested the interim Brabham BT59Y fitted with Yamaha OX99 V12 engine at Silverstone.
that was so smart from Sega tbh
teaming up with the fastest racing team, when your marketing strategy for the console is bloat about the fact it's faster than the opposition
Ik
Rotax junior series,you?
Ayrton Senna Before Start Imola 1994
Does anyone remember in which GP Ferrari engineer told to Seb (or Kimi?) to go for strategy that did not exist? I'm trying to find this radio
In the uk?
to buy or not to buy š¤
the shape is a bit off but I think it's good enough
well, it's cheap
that is awesome
He knew something was gonna happen, and that makes it worse
exactly
Did he ever say who influenced him, like the other drivers
Nelson Piquet trying to rescue Didier Pironi after he touched Alain Prosts car doing more than 100mph+
He survived. He needed 30 leg surgeries though following the crash
Yup
dude's leg must have looked like a puzzle if he needed 30 surgeries to get it in one piece again
