Ok looks like something for sure is going with SE Live when you choose your channel as the custom name, I had to switch the custom bot to a different user to get it to work... the issue only happens if you set your channel to the custom bot name. If you set it to another user or SE it works fine

hello everyone, does anyone know how to change my encoder preset when using nvenc so i dont fry my computer been getting encoder overload everytime i tab out of my game while streaming only happens with cod vanguard or warzone. But my stream doesnt end up lagging nor am i experiencing any harsh performance issues where i cant play the game.

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
  2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
  3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
  4. Start SE.Live
  5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Hello! I hope everyone is doing dandy. I go by Krims but my name is Nic, pleasure to meet you all. I have a question. I was streaming my regular schedule time tonight and for about 2 hours everything was fine. Then stream seized and I have not been able to begin stream since this happened. The square dictating kb/s stayed red and mostly at 0. Internet did not go out and frames weren't dropping. OBS just couldn't send my stream to Twitch. Any ideas what might be the culprit?

Is SE.live not supported on Win 11 yet? The install appeared fine but it can't find the obs64.exe. Attempting to uninstall (so I can try a reinstall) silently errors out.

Heya. I'm new to StreamElements and have recently tried the Credit Roll widget. It works well but for one thing. The font size of Users seems to be locked in place at a tiny font size despite having an input for the font size to change that field. As it is, I can't read the user names because they are so small. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a way I can change the font size? I've included a screen cap for reference.

craziest thing happened last night - had a bunch of cheers (yay) .. and then, an hour later, when i changed scenes in OBS, ALLL the cheers started to REPLAY - if that scene had TTS on, - yeah .. ALL the TTSs replayed .. I actually had to log into streamelements . com and go to my scene and turn off that alert's sound to shut it up. ANY IDEA WHY my alerts would all retrigger? an hour later even?? was twitch being wakky? or is there something wakkier in my OBS?

Hey. So, for the last week or 2, at least once a day when I open OBS Studio with SE.Live installed I get this error, and I have do disconnect and reconnect my Twitch account. I tried asking in the OBS server, but they said they couldn't help, beyond telling me to uninstall SE.Live and use OBS without it. They told me to try asking for help here. Is there anything that can be done to solve the issue? I've got both OBS and SE.Live fully updated and the issue wasn't happening a month ago. It just started about a week or 2 ago. I think that's when I connected an account for my custom bot name.

I had switched the name back to StreamElements because the bot was showing up weird/wrong in my chat. I disconnected it from my account and I'll open OBS again later tonight or early tomorrow to see if it works correctly.

In the chat dock, it would show up with the name a random color, instead of the color that I had it set to in the account settings, and the color would randomize each time I refreshed the dock. And in the chatbox on my overlay, the entire test message, name and all, showed pink even though no other messages did.

Don't really know if anyone can help me with this, but last night into this morning, I've been getting disconnected from twitch servers after like 3-5 minutes of going live via SE OBS. Hello, I'm noticing that my obs se live is using a lot of browser-page.exe programs in task manager. Most of them are harmless, but a few are sucking resources. I've already tried disabling overlay browser sources when they are not visible, but it still has upward of 15 or 16 processes running at idle with a few of them taking up to 5 percent cpu usage. Is there a way to find out what's using all the resources and end those tasks or are there other processes besides browser sources I should be looking for?

If not, then please try the following:

Download the OBS installer from their website: https://obsproject.com
Download the SE.Live installer: https://streamelements.com/selive
Install OBS without letting it run after completion.
Install SE.Live and run after finishing (No need to check the OBS option).
Disconnect and reconnect your account in OBS Settings > Stream.

I'm having some issues with my custom bot. Mostly just the colors being weird. The color of the name changes randomly whenever I open OBS or refresh the chat dock, and the entire test message shows up as pink in the chatbox on the overlay, regardless of the color I have set for the account or the color the bot's name appears as in the chat dock.

I have recently been using SELive but I keep reaching a point during my stream that the CPU spikes and the stream freezes or even crashes. I used to have too many sources loaded so I have since gone in to change every one that has the option to "inactive when not in use" (though not all offer this) and it since has helped lessen the issues but my CPU still runs at a minimum of 30% up to 50% (and spikes to 100% rarely) or more during a stream when before I switched to SELive I would run around 13% on average and almost always under 20%. This is actually causing my streams to crash between 1-5 times in a 3 hour stream and is causing me to rethink SELive as a valid software choice. I would be grateful for any advice. Please ping me with any replies so I don't lose any in this chat channel. I have also reported this issue via the help reporting and included my logs, etc. there. Thank you.

Can I export my overlays from my StreamElements account logged in with Twitch so I can import them to my StreamElements account logged in with YouTube? Or would I need to remake them from scratch for my YouTube connected account?

To add to the above post (2 posts up) I have tried a super light weight game and streamed and it turned into a slide show. I turned everything off in all the other scenes and sources and it seemed to help a bit and it still happened with the spikes and crashed the stream out. MoMsad I had to switch back to slobs to finish the stream. Ugh. Pls. Halp.

.... Turns out the Login Session Had Expired, would've been nice if there was some kind of notice on that dock given it's the only one from SE that I use (and the expired notification only seems to exist on the activities dock), however it's sorted 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

Thank you. I took your advice and used the Analyzer. It was helpful but not as specific as one might hope. I found that I was running my scenes and sources wrong (had a source in every scene for game instead of scenes that have one source and it's referenced by a Sourced Scene instead).
Issues I still can't resolve and need help:

  1. Not Admin (I already have right clicked and run this as admin but that doesn't change anything in the analyzer results) - does this one even matter?
  2. Rendering Lag. - I have framerate limited to 60FPS on a pretty decent system. I don't see a place to enable/disable vsync in OBS/SELive either.

Hello I have a problem when I'm streaming, for some reason, the log gets filled up extremely fast, taking up a lot of my memory and when I check it out, it's mainly spammed with these lines:

Hey! I have a question. About MacOS. I have OBS studio, but now I get SE Live. It’s seem like a new app, it’s not inside the OBS app. Then, there is a plug-in to the original OBS (in the same app) or it’s a different new app and I could delete the original OBS because it’s working separately? I am not sure if this is the right place to suggest the fix some bugs - if it is not, please let me know

What is the problem I face?

The problem is the following:

  • after I finish the stream and click "stop streaming" (I am recording the streams)... there is the problem of freezing the program and after a few seconds there is windows "close the program" (or send the info to the author/producer) pop-up
  • the bug is ONLY after some of the recent updates: I have not had it (I did not face it) a few months ago (like 6-7 months ago)

It would be great to investigate the issue as probably it may be not the only problem of mine (I mean - others can have it even if they do not share it).

⭐ And the final words:** I HAVE ALL THE RECENT UPDATES: **updated OBS, StreamElements and my system updates. The problem of this glitch/bug is not extremally serious one as luckily the sessions are not lost (at least so far).

Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

  • Merging accounts only allow faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: https://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

So i'm having an issue thats new and i'm unsure how to fix it.... My computer I built, has an i9 10900K and an RTX 3090 24gb 32gb of ram.... I have 50mb down and up minimum, and just as a check i ran the auto config wizard in SE live, and my results are upsetting and surprising, and nothing i've been able to think of has fixed it... any ideas? used 2 places to show the similarity, and normally I was streaming in 1440p 60fps 6mb rate with no issue at all

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I don't see the bot in your channel, can you go on your dashboard and make sure it's joined? Also, if you're using a custom bot name, the bot won't reply to itself, so I don't think broadcaster only commands will work.

Hi, I'm having issues with SE Live, I just can't figure out why my alerts aren't showing up. When I test the alerts in Streamelements, they show up there, but not also on my SE live. i have been trying for days but i can't figure out why StreamElements SE.live won't open. It just flashes a screen for a split second and then nothing. Took me two days to figure out that i had to have OBS Studio installed lol. What am i missing now?

trying from scratch. looks like that was not the issue. OBS is installed through the SE.live setup but it does not install it correctly. Nor does it install the Add-on correctly. is there something messed up with the latest update. i have used this many times in the past but i just am not able to get this up and running. been about a year but still. i don't think that much has changed with the install process

Nvm got it working. Installing SE.live without OBS installed first will cause all kinds of issues. the installer for SE.Live does not install OBS correctly. removing everything, installing OBS studio independently first, then SE.Live with the OBS Studio install unticked, worked like a charge. Tried on another machine, through the normal install process of letting SE.Live install OBS and run into the same issues. there is something wrong with the SE.Live installer with OBS Studio.

I have an issue with media request specifically when using it with SE.Live.. The autoplay always pauses between certain videos. if I open media request in a browser it will autoplay for me and I'm able to control media controls on SE.Live, but is there any way to do this without opening another browser to reduce resources?

I personally recommend disabling the default obs output and specifying your audio output device in the scene as windows does funky things when updating drivers and can change your default device on a whim. I also recommend setting audio devices in-game whenever possible to match the device output specified in obs as then it will always be there

Just had a really bad stream... Had to force quit OBS at one point. Over the last couple weeks my framerate has been dropping, getting increasingly bad even as I down grade my stream output. A lot of rendering overloading suddenly even with ONLY OBS SE.Live running and trying even a minimum level of streaming output. Things look great connecting to the non-live test server, but when I go live for real suddenly we have renderer overload (at 30fps 720p). I run chat in a separate window in FF. At one point OBS was giving a "no internet connection" message and 0kbps/fps even though my wifi was connected, chat was still running and connected, my other devices were still connected... and starting up discord, that connected fine. When I force quit and restarted, whatever it did crashed the 5G part of my router and looking at the router logs I'm seeing thousands of blocked requests by the router's firewall at the time of the OBS restart. Any idea what is going on and how to fix? Running version 22.3.5.215 on OSX.

i have been using obs to stream a game called Swords of Legends Online. the stream works fine for a while but at some point my whole pc starts to stutter and audio starts to crackle the only way to stop it is to end process obs which immediately returns everything to normal in terms of stuttering and crackling.

the issue seems to trigger especially when cutscenes are playing or when there's a lot of characters being displayed on the stream with me not hiding it. even so sometimes it doesn't happen. when it does happen the stream freezes the pc lags a lot and audio crackle.

sometimes the stream doesn't freeze but i lose audio in the stream. i did notice the audio setting can reset on some occasions as well

For 1, why do you have the base resolution at 2560x1440 and the output at 1920x1080, that's going to take a lot for your PC to handle. Second, let's try getting a different log. You don't need to try and replicate the exact issue you had but let's try and take the similar path (opening the game load a cutscene and etc)

Keep in mind that with high performance games, it my not be best to run everything on the best settings AND stream on the same device as it can cause issues.

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

my pc doesn't seem to lag it's only when this issue happens then my whole pc stutters then audio crackles together until obs is forcefully closed.

i've been streaming from 5-8 hours and the issue suddenly happens at specific triggers like a cut scene in a raid or when i don't hide players in an in game function in the main city even so it's not always happening sometimes the game lags a bit more then the stream loses all audio but the stream is still running.

sometimes the stream just freezes completely until i force close it and start it over and often if i start over it happens immediately again i have been restarting my pc when that happened.

when i posted the log in obs discord i saw a warning of multiple game capture and a critical of audio buffer then the bot said they don't support stream elements since a version and to ask here

That may help but i'm not certain. The other thing is to make sure your drivers are fully up to date. Not only your graphics drivers (Geforce Experince) but your optional/additional updates in windows. Those can have an effect on your sound/processing. worth checking when updating

i will see if it happens again the next time i stream. i've tried a few things but i couldn't fix it still. i used to have one single monitor although i wasn't streaming at the time. now i have two one is 1080p and main is 1440p. i'm aware that my gpu is a over limit for my current monitors and plan to upgrade at some point. the RTX 2060 has 6gb video ram only also. i did lower the graphics settings as well but it still happens. hoping it stops after changing this. i'll write again later if it happens again. thank you for your time and help.

Hey, im not sure where i have to post my problem but i try it here:

SE dont react to the donations of one specific Viewer (an IRL Friend).
The Dono goes through to paypal and in on the revenue history "tip list" (2 Donos) BUT on the Leaderboard, just one of the Donos is shown.
The Donos is not shown on the activity feed and the alert also dont activates.

He never charged back any money/donos so it cant be the filter. And the other filter are disabled.

Basically audio buffer is basically the allowed amount of time audio is allowed to be processed on your computer. If the sound takes too long in buffering the audio will come out distorted, crushed or desynched. OBS diagnostic is saying that a certain limit in audio buffering has been met and the cause is probably your CamLink4K. Please make sure you audio settings on OBS is matched up with your CamLink4K and test it again if you are having further issues you may need to talk to OBS support to help you out

HI I have been having trouble setting up the custom bot name for stream elements bot.
I have tried the following:

  • part bot from channel and rejoin the bot back to the channel
  • remove custom bot account and added the custom bot account again
  • reinstall the StreamElements plugin to OBS Studio

The StreamElements bot is still unable to change the custom bot name, and also it doesn't work when the bot name is changed as well.

Would appreciate help on this.

I don't know if this is the correct channel to put this in but I have been trying to get an issue resolved about my SE Pay for weeks now. I got a tip while offline from someone I know and now that money is being held for being suspicious. I have replied to an original support ticket sent my way and when nothing came of that I created my own second ticket which someone responded to I think then I replied back but there hasn't been any further reply and I still can't withdraw my money. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

After trying that, I got the same error^^ (The right audio mixer does exist, the left one is a bug). Also, as soon as I restart the PC I am greeted by the SE-Login Screen (where you can connect your accounts). But I need to login every single time! Only after Restarting SE.Live while the PC is running I get these whitescreens!

So that is 3 different solutions to making stream elements bot implement the custom bot name change but it still doesn't work. I think by this time it really isn't going to work after all. Thanks for helping anyway.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).

So, I'm continuing having troubles with SE.Live OBS. I ran a log analysis on my last stream after, while I was playing on a console and hadn't touched the computer or streamdeck, OBS not only randomly switched scenes but turned off all but two of the sources in that scene.

Log analysis says "Audio Buffering" is the critical problem and pointed to a specific file (which is the one in the scene it switched to as well)... PLOT TWIST! The video file doesn't have an audio track so buffering should NEVER be a problem there. OBS is also showing audio source controls for the file and won't let me change to "don't control audio" for that file.

This might be an OBS bug. I did some settings tweaking to have it marked as no tracks and mono in the advanced audio controls but doesn't seem to fix the issue.

SE.Live doesn't really touch settings in that manner, so it sounds like OBS itself might be acting up. What version are you running?

Hey I’ve been in this chat before about this problem and it still isn’t resolved. I am still unable to withdraw any of my tips from SE Pay due to a donation made while I was offline. I had one ticket previously about this that was marked solved. And then I had a second ticket that was responded to after I reached out here in the discord and I responded to that ticket with the information and then it was marked complete but I still can’t withdraw my money. Both tickets were marked complete and I sent in all proof needed that this was a legitimate donation made by someone I knew so I don’t know what else to do.

For those having the issue where the SE.Live Chat Dock "Could not find Live video on your YouTube Page." I’ve tried every suggested fix and nothing worked. I finally got it working by doing the following: First make sure you aren’t using a duplicate stream key; Then in OBS create a Dock for the YouTube popout chat; Scroll down and sign into your account; Run an unlisted stream. Those chat docks might show the whole Stream control page the first time but all subsequent streams have only had chat. You can also delete the newly created Chat dock.
The above process might also work if your activity feed in SE.Live isn't working. However, if you have a Twitch and YouTube channel linked to the same StreamElements account then the created Dock defaults to the Twitch login (at least it does for me). I don't see any way of changing that and since I don't get a lot of activity yet, I don't know if completing the login has the intended effect.

Hey all, Happy 4th. I have a question about OBS/SE Live integration with Stream Deck. It has been working just fine, but the other day (perhaps after an update of stream deck or SE live?) all of my OBS buttons stopped working (lights and other buttons still work) and if I try to create a new OBS button or edit an old one, it just has a spinning wheel that says "Waiting for OBS". Any help would be appreciated.

Hey everyone! I commented on this a few months ago but wondering if someone could help/clarify. With the emoteplosion feature, is there a way to set a minimum amount that it will go off so it doesn't always show for low-amount donations? Currently we have it looking at tips, which displays a gif for every amount donated, but we don't want the emoteplosion to do that. We want it to go off only when there is a minimum of let's say $20 donated. I've looked at the options available quite extensively, but haven't had any luck. Any help would be appreciated!

i have been having issues getting OBS + SE to work. Nothing works (except some menu bar options by holding mouse down), and “Oops! We are unable to reach StreamElements servers. ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED”, and OBS won’t stay active (after clicking into OBS + SE, the window will become inactive) I’ve done a full uninstall and reinstall of both, and still the same error. If I only reinstall OBS, everything works (except no StreamElements to use).

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I’ve been having a real bad case recently where my obs (with SE.live) just keeps crashing, causing me to end, usually it’s a result of a video cap just showing blank and when I try, activate/deactivate- it just freezes everything.

Any help would be great! It’s happened the last two streams now!

Hello I have a problem when using my elgato HD60 S in obs studio (With Se live installed). when im streaming a console game using my elgato the picture will randomly go black and I have to 'Deactivate' and 'Activate' the elgato in OBS for it to come back. It's a issue Ive been having for over a year possibly longer and have yet been able to find a fix. So I need help setting up SE.Pay. I am not sure how that tipping feature works. I have it setup where viewers can tip and I believe I have over $8 there. But it says I have a restraint do to country or channel size. Well I am from the US and my channel has over 450 subscribers

  1. Restart OBS
  2. Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
  3. Stop your stream/recording.
  4. Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

This is what I have set up: the third screenshot is of the tips settings in our overlay for alerts called "streamelements alertbox". It shows alerts for bits, tips, gifts, etc. The overlay is set up to show a gif for any amount received (hence the minimum amount set to 0). The first screenshot is showing the emotesplosion settings for a second overlay I created called "emotesplosion" that contains a tips alertbox and the emotesplosions alert (set to look at tips only). The second screenshot is of the tips alert, as mentioned previously, that's set to a minimum of 50. I had thought the emotesplosion alert would only be looking at the tips event in ONLY the "emotesplosion" overlay and NOT the "streamelements" alertbox overlay. However, when I emulate a $1 tip, it displays the emotesplosion anyways. Hopefully this clears things up. If there's any way to make this work, I would appreciate the help! Hello, On M1 Mac--Currently on OBS 27.2.2 and SE.LIVE 22.3.5.215 and trying to update to OBS 27.2.4 (hopefully to get my streamdeck to work again...I can't seem to manually update--Any help? (Despite OBS 27.2.4 being available, does SE.LIVE only work with 27.2.2?)

  2. Duplicate the current "Scene Collection" at the very top of OBS, call it something like "Backup" and remove all browser sources in that backup
  3. Install SE.Live and see if it still crashes
  • If yes, repeat steps 1 and 2, leave SE.Live uninstalled, tell us that it didn't work and use your old default scene collection again.

Heya there, just recently ran into an issue and been looking for a fix, but it doesn't seem like it's happened before. using the media request, on any backup playlist, it'll load and play bits of the song, but then the music will randomly stop and not play again for another several minutes, while the timer bar seems to keep going but doesn't update on the overlay itself? is this a known issue with a fix or is something locally messing with it, because I've run over a lot of my settings and nothing's changed from when it was working

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
  2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
  3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
  4. Start SE.Live
  5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

Hey y’all, I just installed SE.live on my pc to link with OBS.. previously I had been streaming fine without it, but after I linked it, I noticed at the top center of my OBS screen I had a “503 service unavailable” message up that showed on stream when I went live as well. I don’t have any overlays there on that spot, and it wasn’t there before the install. Does anyone know what that is?
