Recently my OBS has been recording my gameplay but it's very jumpy. The audio is fine and the webcam seems to fine too.

I recently increased the quality of the recordings in the 'Output' settings but switched it back when I noticed it jumpy.
However, the switch back doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I thought it'd be a disservice but it's gotten to be something very consistent at this point.

Not sure if this is where I need to ask this but I have an issue with StreamElements OBS. I have a browser source, NerdorDie SceneMaker, that plays a video when I either end my stream or am away from the stream. I don't stream that often so I am not sure when it stopped doing this. It would normally loop the video. I opened the browser source in a browser and the video looped just fine, but will not loop in StreamElements OBS. Is there a setting that would help me with this?

Same issue that some other people here have had - Custom font that appears in the SE overlay editor doesn't appear inside OBS

• Clearing the page cache
• removing custom CSS
• writing my own custom CSS and specifying the font name in it
• Installing the font normally and "Install for all users"

Hi, I'm having trouble with creating stream overlays with partially transparent backgrounds. The event list items each have a background with 50% alpha, and the first image is how it looks like in SE overlay editor (white bg added for easy comparison). The second image is the same event list added to OBS/SE.Live as a browser source (the white bg added in OBS) - the transparent pink parts turn weirdly gray. I had a similar problem with images earlier, but checking the OBS setting "Apply alpha in linear space" fixed the issue. However there isn't a similar setting for browser sources. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
4. Start SE.Live
5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

hi i have an issue where a browser source (video shout out, clips player; using either clippy or streamer bot) will not play the whole clip. it freezes after about 1-2 seconds into playback.
streamerbot and clippy use completly different playback methods yet exhibit the same problem in OBS. so it can be either twitch changed something underneath which breaks viewing clips or i broke something by accident in OBS. any ideas?

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I'm starting a stream-a-thon tonight and invited a couple of friends to stream on my stream while I'm sleeping, however, most of them can't make the whole night, so I had the idea to add a command, like !partner_offline, that gonna trigger my OBS to change to the media request source, already got everything else done but activate the media request that, as far as I found, only activates if I manually click the "Show on Stream" button

Hello there! I am using Virtual Audio Cable to emulate sound devices so I can manage each audio stream separately in OBS. Everything is working fine as long as I do not tab out to another application or click off the screen (thus making the game/application window lose focus). When I inevitably need to tab out it delays my audio across all sources by a few seconds. I can fix this by changing the affected audio source in OBS to default and then back to the dedicated audio device. I have unchecked "Use Device Timestamps" on each source and the bitrates match up at 48 kHz so I am grasping at straws as to how to fix this. I have all of my audio piped into these virtual cables and I monitor the audio using my headphones directly through OBS so the audio I hear is delayed in addition to my stream being delayed until I do the aforementioned fix. I have yet to figure out WHY its still playing the sound source, but it plays not only the video that was originally linked, but CONTINUES playing videos on its own. There's no visible source, due to it being deleted, and I have to manually close every browser page in the Task Manager until I find the right one to get it to stop. Any ideas?

I am trying to get the chat widget to work in OBS. I've installed SE.Live to OBS. I've got the widget designed and linked in browser source in OBS. I don't want to use the chat bot, but I can't get the chat to show up in OBS widget. I've gone ahead and connected the bot to see if that was the issue. 2 questions have arisen:

• I've tried deactivating every command for Chatbot so it won't "do" anything but grab chat. !commands wil not deactivate. It keeps reactivating itself. Is there a way around this?

• I'm still not getting chat to the widget. Is there a step I'm missing to get it to read?

I believe I have SE.Live linked properly, as in OBS I can pull up panels like the activiity feed that are showing correct information.

I've also modded the StreamElements account, but no change

I don't think you can disable !commands, there's probably a couple others that "have" to be enabled.

If you're logged in to SE.Live it should work, have you closed and re-opened OBS after the initial install and log in?

So I'm still having this issue where I created a browser source, deleted it, and now every time I start up obs, it's playing audio from that same deleted source. I still have to manually shut down each obs browser page to find the one playing audio to turn it off.

I'm not on export on this stuff, but disabling my screen capture just for that session, helps with my stream speed ALOT! (You can always enable it afterwards) Additionally, you could also try cranking down your stream output resolution and see if that helps. Also make sure your stream and recording bitrate isn't too low, or too high. Just some tips. If you have a specific issue, just wait on support to constant you once they see the message.

I apologize if this isn't the correct location but I am trying to put in a gif for an alert on streamelements overlays. For some reason, however, the gif doesn't play at the very beginning of the animation and instead starts a few seconds into and then loops back to the beginning. In your overlay editor, click the label name of the text field you want to edit. After you do that, the text settings should pop up at the very bottom of that entire list. Click "Settings" and insert the name you want in the "Message" field.

Alternatively, an easier way is just to open up settings first, then click the text field from the output of the overlay design.

Yes, just delete it and you should be fine. If you have a webcam source visible in obs, just make sure to turn that off before your stream as well. If you don't then just ignore that part, Lol.

You can also just make is invisible like the other camera overlay to be honest.

Just click the "eye" looking icon on the side of the settings and it will go invisible.

You can always turn it on again if you want to use the camera overlay.

Hey there! I noticed today that if I log into streamelements through my facebook it is a different account than if I log into streamelements through twitch. Neither of them will allow me to add any channels saying that they are already claimed. I am logged into all relevant accounts and can access them all easily. More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

• Merging accounts only allow faster ways to switch between accounts
• Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
• Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

I recommend not having the text font as large as you won't notice the spacing as much

Ye that is by design. Here's how it looks on my end in an actual scene. I designed it to be on a smaller canvas so I wouldn't have to upscale it much, since it's a very pixel-perfect font and changing the overlay size in OBS instead of changing the font size can result in significant blur, which I am trying to avoid. I've been having problems for a while, OBS is using a lot of CPU in "obs-browser-page.exe" at the end of this process I see that it is the twitch activity feed, when I update the feed the process kills my CPU again , is there a solution for this? I didn't have this problem before, before my OBS had low CPU usage, I've tried to reinstall twice and the problem persists

1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)

Hey hey - I have a question, don't know if this is the right place

First of all I would like to say that I don't know much about PCs!

I have my PC since last year, have already streamed some different games - mostly it went perfectly but at some point it started that my games jerked as soon as I had OBS on - despite good FPS ( according to display) & GPU - CPU were not overloaded!? Quite bad it is, if I want to stream GTA RP, then loads in GTA much simply no longer. Inventory, mobile etc can not be opened, map does not load completely - autos off and unlock does not work or is very delayed etc.

I also play Rocket League, and there I have the jerks in very low execution, so really weak, but it would also be beneficial to fix them.

Does anyone have any idea what this could be due to? Can it also be possible that when I got the PC new, I prioritized by some program, games or programs, so that some applications then no longer run from full line or the like?

In my opinion, I have a quite good PC, with which actually many things should be feasible - I was at least the opinion!

Hi! Idk if this is a good spot for this. but I've recently come across OBS overlays disappearing mid stream. and I have to reset the cache for it to reappear only for it to disappear moments later. it also shrinks the like ratio on the obs studio to the point I have to click to enlarge it again. I'm currently a little confused. We've setup se-live so we could switch the bot to use the streamer's account instead. It's been working but suddenly just stopped working. When setting it back to use streamelements, it would respond to commands and then switching back to the streamer's account it would stop responding again.

If you aren't already logged into OBS via twitch, you could try that and see what docks are available. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

You could also add a custom dock with the url for twitch studio and use that to run the adds as well.

Not possible. They would have to be separate sources with separate alert boxes. If you have the accounts merged together, you can duplicate the overlay from one to the other to have an easier time copying the alerts themselves.

I have both my YouTube and Twitch channels connected to one StreamElements account, but I would like to disconnect my YouTube channel from it. I don't see any options to remove that connection, just options to invite a new manager or connect new accounts, which I don't want to happen. Does anyone know how to disconnect accounts?

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Check the dimensions you put in the overlay in OBS. By default, our editor uses 1920 by 1080, and OBS by default is 800 by 600, so your chat may actually just be appearing in a section that is not being captured by OBS

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Hi. I created an overlay with a background picture and a facecam. Facecam is on top of the background picture in the overlay editor. When insert it in OBS and turn my webcam on, the webcam doesn’t go underneath the facecam frame. It stays on top of it. Anyway around this?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Is there a way to emulate chat messages in the overlay editor? I use SE.Live for Facebook atm

How do I hear the music that plays in Media Request without it appearing on the vod?

@karmic sorrel You need to be monitoring the overlay with your headphones through advanced audio properties and then you need to find out which Track in the same window corresponds to the VOD and then uncheck it and boom! You hear the audio, stream hears the audio but it does not get saved to the VOD

I have vod audio track set to #6 and media request is unchecked in that box. I set it to monitor(mute output) and it still shows up in the vod since the sound is playing in desktop audio as well. With monitor off, it doesn't pop up but I can't hear what is being played.

You're gonna want to set your audio up so game goes to one line, discord to another, chrome to another etc. and then just Monitor and Output everything you want for stream and then just Monitor for things you want to hear but don't want being broadcast. When you do this you then remove the desktop audio source or mute it completely. You should check out VB Audio cable virtualization

Should I control audio from OBS? I have it in a overlay as well.

so I downloaded virtual audio cable and used that to add virtual devices. I then set the output of each program to its own cable (game audio, chrome audio, discord audio and VLC audio). At this point I add in each device in OBS and put them in a group for organization. I then disabled the desktop audio but you can mute it if you want. I then set the monitoring device to my headphones and now you can hear all your audio devices and can manage them within OBS. I think your main problem is that you are still using desktop audio which is a no no if you want to manage sounds

that will literally output everything you hear and you can't control it at all so having each application have its own dedicated audio device is key

No luck. I add the overlay which includes the background picture and facecam. So I put that in the OBS as a browser source. Then when I add my webcam and turn it on, it doesn’t go in between the background and the facecam so it sits on the frame obviously. Not sure if it’s even possible to be honest, is it? Is there a workaround it if it’s not?

@midnight bloom the order in which items are listed is like a stack of pancakes. The top pancake is the one you see from above and is first in the list. You want it to go:
Webcam
Overlay
Game Capture

What do you mean by "those two?" The overlay with your design will be a browser source separate from the other sources. Same is true for the camera and for the game. If you need to separae the layer for your camera design vs stream design, that's okay too, however, Overlay should be on top, Camera in the middle and game on the bottom

When I do that, the camera sits ON top of the facecam frame meaning it is covering the frame vs fitting behind it which I want it to do. Does that make sense?

There’s also “Matchmaking Background” overlay. So what I do right now is I put that in as a separate browser source in OBS to get it to work. My goal is to just have one browser source for it instead of running two in OBS.

I don't see the "Matchmaking Background" overlay in your SE overlays. Adding the matchmaker overlay i was able to get it to work as it should However, if you have a background image, you'll need to have it so that there is nothing where the frames are. Fivver or having skill in photoshop/editing software will be needed to make sure that it's transparent where the frames are

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Should be working now. keep in mind that it pulls the Session Data which is set to reset 15 minutes after your stream has ended. You can adjust this from Activity Feed > Widget Data > settings.

Make sure to :ballot_box_with_check: “Shutdown source when not visible” for all browser sources (all OBS scenes). Quick notice: i also noticed that for example !twitter is not coming through. how does this come?

So basicly when I try this command. it comes through and in my chat, but when someone else or my test account tries this. the message will not come through with !twitter for example. even the access level is on 'everyone'
