hey, before you logout, make sure to part the bot from your channel through the SE Dashboard

after you log back in, add the bot and mod it

Hi cute doggos from the support! I wanted to ask, there was 2-3 times that my obs bugged while on live in the last month and the stream had no audio at all, but the obs showed that the connection was good and the audio was playing (the mixer was ok, volume going up and down). All the times, it happened from nowhere, and it made no warning, too. (One moment chat was talking to me, and the next there was no audio on the stream at all). The only way that i had to recover all audio was restarting the stream. One time happened while i was playing dark souls, the others i dont remember. Is there a way to know when this happens? And is there a way to recover the audio without the need to restart the stream?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hi im having an issue with the newest streamelements update which cause all of my OBS to crash and streamelements to crash and not run at all, it only shows me a crash message and im unsure as to what to do

Is there a way to have a different resolution in a game while keeping it 1920x1080 on stream? I normally play rainbow six on 1440x1080 and thats what im used to. On stream however, since it is not the full 1920 of my monitor, the right side just has a big black bar. There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Hey, i have an issue while streaming Rainbow Six Siege.

10 minutes into the game, suddenly my OBS tabs get black, chat window, activity window and even my in-scene browser sources.
I can provide a link to a clip where you can see it.

Trying to fix it i quickly tab into OBS and everything looks fine then. But after 5 minutes continuing playing suddenly OBS and Rainbow Six crashes...
No error message, nothing.

Hey I have been having this issue since the Twitch leaks, I can't connect a custom bot account anymore (Pastats) to my main Twitch channel (Rastats) with OBS Live.

I do the usual steps (Connect Custom Bot Account → Log in with bot account) but after logging in with the bot account, the popup closes and the "current bot name" option still displays "set custom bot name" instead of updating itself to "change to pastats" as it should normally display.

However, when I'm logged in as Pastats in OBS Live and I try to add Rastats as a custom bot, it works fine. Why does it work one way and not the other ?

Hey guys, I have an ongoing issue with media sources (meme videos) in one of my sources section in a scene.

I play/stop them using stream deck, however, whenever I play/stop them couple of times or when I reboot my stremelements, the videos are either very zoomed in or completely misplaced on the preview (out of the frame) and I have to delete the file and add it again.

Is this an update issue? currently I have the 27.1.3 version. Should I roll back an update? or should I nest those media sources as independent scenes?

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

It appears you are running an old version of OBS Studio (27.0.1). Please update to version 27.1.0 by going to Help -> Check for updates in OBS or by downloading the latest installer from the downloads page and running it.

Also, your log contains no recording or streaming session. Results of this log analysis are limited. Please post a link to a clean log file.
To make a clean log file, please follow these steps:

1. Restart OBS.
2. Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3. Stop your stream/recording.
4. Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Send that link via this troubleshooting tool or whichever support chat you are using.

In testing whenever there is high movement there is some blurryness detected. once i stand still everything clears out again

this is due to how the encoder works. because you have to encode fast enough to send data, your computer will process the encoding and lose detail during high movement scenes in order to preserve the stream bitrate

I don't know where to go with this. I've been talking with the OBS Support Discord (and accused of lying randomly, very bad experience) and they seem to blame everything on StreamElements Live. So, I come here, even though I severely doubt it's causing the issue. Regardless, I'm here. My OBS has been crashing A LOT tonight. Usually it only crashes like once or twice near the beginning of a stream but it's happened at least six times tonight alone.

The default audio device in obs is read from the default audio device in windows, and sometimes works…..and most times doesn’t. It’s better to disable the default audio devices and add your mic/headphones to each scene

Hey guys, I am having a weird issue with OBS.. I added a shader to my camera and it was working fine until I activated it with my stream deck, now my camera is showing its connected but is appearing black on OBS. Iv restarted about 4 times and its still not working.

Hi there. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. I have tried to figure it out myself. I am having a lot of tech issues so I have set up an alt twitch account so I can test stuff before streaming. I have copied the profile in OBS and linked it to the alt account, but I cannot find any way to copy the settings in SE so that they are also attached to the Alt account. As a result I can't test the loyalty points etc. which seem to be part of what is not working when I'm live. So the question is: is there a way to duplicate the settings in my SE account to import into the alt account so I can test them?

For the points, do you have loyalty enabled? What commands are you using in chat? That one might be harder to test since it's tied to the channel so testing on another may be weird. For alerts, have you tried emulation?

@rugged quail saw your question in the obs discord. The correct answer is that you can’t without loading separate scenes. Program and preview are “live” and “upcoming live”. Obs previews both and loads both into memory/audio. I don’t recommend studio mode as it can cause audio duplication.

I have just been streaming for over an hour and discovered the sound is not on. That is the type of thing I'd like to be able to avoid. So frustrating (and nothing to do with streamelements, I know).

I paid someone to set this stuff up originally so I don't know what he did. I know I have loyalty points set up but I just googled it to see how to check whether they can be enabled and it looks like you have to be affiliated so I think that explains that!

I have tested the commands and they are working.

Sorry I don't know what emulation is. The alerts did work when it was set up .

I guess the short answer is that no, there is no way to link two Twitch accounts to share one streamelements setup or to duplicate a streamelements setup to use on a second channel without inputting it all in again?

I've got a little tech issue with my SE.Live today. (Yesterday everything worked on stream)

Problem: All my browser sources won't monitor sound to my headphones (as usual).

If I (for testing) monitor other sources (like Mic or Audio sources) they work just fine, but monitoring any browser source (e.g. SE Alert Box or SoundAlerts) they don't send audio.
Audio is working fine when emulating in browser and I see that it also IS playing it for the source itself (in "audio mixer" in OBS).

What I've tried:

• restarting OBS
• deleting browser source and setting it up new
• checked all the audio settings (selected "monitor & output")
• checked audio settings in OBS (monitor device is on my headphones)
• checking if other sources are getting monitored
• checking if audio is working in browser
• restored last known working backup

Anyone got any ideas, what's the problem?

Talked with the OBS support on regards of the issue. They took a log analysis and found no problem on that side. They assume it has something to do with the SE plugin, which is managing the browser sources. That's why I'm asking here specifically.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Done that and it fixed the issue with the monitoring.
Sadly now I can't control the audio via obs, which means muting or changing the volume "on the fly" is no longer available.

ofc it's better to have the alerts, etc. working than not, but the option should be to have both (working monitoring and audio controls), right?
Also it's strange that it worked no problems the last weeks and suddenly is not working since today.

hey there isn't a helpdesk channel specifically for y'all's website so i'm just kinda choosing this one because it seems like the closest option.
going to StreamElements.com as is listed on streamelements' twitter returns a white screen. checked the maintenance website (which i am able to access) and everything is said to be operational. anyone have any ideas what's going on here or is it a problem to take to support?
