I recently imported my alertbox from streamlabs and everything was running fine, then out of the blue my alerts stopped showing up with the text overlayed on the image and instead show up with the text above the image. Was streaming to YouTube live on one profile then made a new one for Twitch and clicking "Start Streaming" is opening the YouTube live interface. 🤔
I'm not sure if it's a bug with the profiles and the new one not taking precedence or what but this is definitely a first for this problem for me. XD

We click "Connect Custom Bot Account", we log in to the alternate Twitch account & authorize access... After which the window closes and nothing happens... The bot is not connected and "Send Test Message" is still greyed-out. I hope that helps clarify the issue better. 😮💨

My main issue atm is - people are able to activate TTS with any amount of bits but the min should be 100 because that's what it's set to in my streamelements alerts.

Yes I use that. My problem is external overlays like shoutout widgets and things like that are not working. When I click to test them on stream elements it works fine, but when I actually input a chat command it does nothing. I’ve used it for around 8 months now so I’m not sure why it has suddenly stopped working

I would suggest parting the bot from your channel and re-joining it. Are you using vanilla obs studio or obs.live plug-in?

Obs.live, last night I disconnected and reconnected all of my accounts. Even changed my stream key just for shits and giggles and still nothing. Just gonna wait on an update and hope for the best at this point

Long story short, I'm trying to find out where my shoutout !so command is triggering a pullup of the audio of a random clip, and eliminate it. So that the !so command responds and does what it does in CHAT ONLY. It's triggered no matter which scene I'm in, even with scenes that only have my webcam in the sources. Any clue as to where I'd go to eliminate the triggering of the audio? It plays over my desktop audio regardless of what scene i'm in. Help?

Seems to be that my Activity Feed stopped working via OBS.Live so I added a browser source dock for that feed. This seems to have caused the duplication issue. I removed the browser source dock and re-opened the OBS.Live view...problem solved.

Iirc i had that same problem once before. I think what fixed it for me, was logout of twitch and streamelements a few times, stopped restartet OBS, relogin again and the live dock was back

Ohh ok. This kind of barrier between the devs/source code and us the users is for someone like me a bit frustrating, as it feels like we as users are dependant on the decisions of the mods, the community managers and executives at streamelements. When something is open source, i can mostly get in contact with the person who is coding the stuff, and get some ideas back and forth. And even if the dev of a project isnt willing to implement my suggested feature, i still have the ability to implement it myself. So i want to please you(whoever is responsible for those kind of decisions), to consider open source your tools like the streamdeck plugin etc. And maybe give us the ability to get in contact with devs or the code. I feel like i have some needs that aren't fulfilled by the current state of what streamelements is offering, but i am willing to put in the time and get something done myself. But if i don't get access to APIs, don't get have any ways to get in contact with devs for asking questions, and cant get the source code or documentation on tools, i feel pretty much lost. I hope that this message reaches someone who cares about it at SE. Thanks in advance

That's good, and if i understand things correctly the plugin for obs has to be open source because of the licensing of OBS project. It would be nice if SE could also open source their Streamdeck plugin, so i can get the plugin to connect to other OBS-instances in the network, and not only the local OBS installation. Or maybe even better, if the plugin would connect to Streamelements directly and send the request to the service without the need for OBS. Cheers

Sounds like a login bridge between streamelements and Facebook is broken, nothing you can fix yourself. has to be fixed by the people at SE. maybe someone from staff knows more about this or can help you

Not directly. You would need to run this in a separate browser that is routed to a different audio output and then integrate it to your GoXLR and route it properly.
This is a lot of work and requires extra hardware at least.

Hi guys I'm having a problem right now w/ my obs.live. First, I can't login to facebook (white screen just showing up after logging in) and last is whenever I'm updating my obs to the latest version, the browser source and streamelements plugin disappears and I tried to update it again, have the streamelements plugin to be downloaded and installed but it's not doing anything. The only fix that I can do is use the old version of streamelements that i have here but still can't login to facebook. Hope you guys can help me. Thanks.

Hi. We would recommend a clear reinstall - uninstall OBS.Live and then uninstall OBS Studio.
Then you can install the latest OBS Studio from the OBS project site and we would recommend you using the stable build of OBS.Live that you can get here:

it will load up for load screen (when a league game is loading) then I can see from the preview that it "freezes" and just shows a solid image of the load screen with characters selected etc, all my overlays and what have you over top are perfectly fine
its just league, full freezes after a solid second of the ingame application "booting up" if you get what i mean

Hi, everyone! I'm having troubles with my alerts on OBS, so I hope anyone can help me.
Here's the thing: I set my followers and subscribers alerts on a StreamElements overlay. When I emulate the alerts on streamelements.com it works perfect, and I can hear the alert. But when I try it on OBS, alerts show up, but don't sound. I already have the monitoring activated on advance audio settings on OBS, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I've tried anything, but it just doesn't work, could anyone please help me? Thank you in advance!

Thank you, and sorry for not answering before. I do have the alert overlay on top of everything. As I said, I can see the alerts, but I can't hear them. I use a Shure MVi audio interface to connect mi mic and trough that device I connect my headphones to hear my desktop audio. It is the device set up on OBS

Im having issues with my alerts...but only in my gameplay scene? They play in all my other scenes ( BRB, Just Chatting etc) but for some reason my gameplay scene does not have alerts coming up when i emulate them.

Just remove the browser source and add it again, i would like to diagnose where the issue is
Alerts are a browser source. If the scene has no browser source, you will not see them
but they can play sound in the background from other scenes

There should not be a conflict, but we recommend using the setting "shutdown source when not visible" (browser source settings, where you put the link for the overlay in) to avoid audio issues from multiple alerts on different scenes etc.

ok i think i got it. I tried a different alert and it appeared only half on the screen and alittle width and height adjustment did the trick. i knew it was something silly

My configuration hasn't changed at all in 3.5 months and since last Friday I'm dropping frames all over the place. I tried to downscale things and I still drop frames. Is there something wrong with OBS? I stream to Twitch.

Dropped frames are an indication for network issues mostly. If you see "encoding overloaded" - this would indicate a hardware issue. Change the ingest server and test the stream - this usually helps.

I've been running 1080/60 flawlessly since mid-July and then last Friday I started dropping 30-40% of my frames with no config changes. I'm streaming an XBox Series X over an Elgato HD60S+ and OBS is running on a Macbook Pro with the Radeon 5500M video card.. I moved from software to hardware encoding which reduce the CPU load, but it still drops frames.

and as cryonic said above, dropped frames is network, so doing things for your CPU wont do anything to stop it

A more general question - StreamElements and most of its widgets are attached or pull information from the networks it can connect to. i.e: Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, etc. Is there any way to use some of its widgets like alerts, in a platform that is StreamElements can't conenct to. Even if triggered manually? Since I main platform is none of those, I can't activate most of the assets StreamElements has, unless I can somehow do it manually. Any help would be appreciated.

if i see a new follower, press a button, and do the alert/emote. Works with a gif as source, but an actual alert would be 10x better.

Good Morning. I came in yesterday re:dropped frames since Friday. I have called my ISP and we ran all the necessary tests. No packet loss. No jitter issues. I am still dropping frames when I stream to Twitch, over 200k frames on a 3.5 hour stream last night. While I am capable of 6000 bitrate and 1080p60, I turned it down to 720p60 and 2500 bitrate and I STILL drop network frames. One thing I notice is when I set a fixed bitrate, OBS will still surge to over 13000 bitrate and then crash to under 1000, even with bitrate limited in preferences. Is there anything else I can do? Sorry for wall of text.

I've tried Auto. I've tried closest server (Atlanta) and I have tried some further away as some resources have recommended (Virginia). I am in Charlotte, NC area.

I can recommend the 2nd tool to determine your connection to the Twitch servers in your region
The ISP might not be able to help you since they have no clue about twitch streaming servers and the routing in that specific case

The tech I spoke with is a streamer actually. I lucked out.
I can't run twitchtest because I'm streaming via Mac and it is Windows only. XBox Series X > Elgato > Macbook Pro. I did look at inspector and it does appear the failures are happening on the ATL server only, but when I use the Virginia server it appears to have no unstable events. I could try Virginia again, but it has failed before during this time.

I would suggest doing a few test streams with Inspector on different servers and figure out the issues here
The data can also help your ISP to figure out what is wrong
but this could be outside of your network so the ISP is usually not able to assist

It is not OBS, it is the network. And the network is a complex things, your routing might go through multiple networks from different providers before it reaches the server.

If you have access to a windows machine (or running windows in bootcamp on your OSX device) you can use the twitch test tool to determine the server connections to all twitch servers around you
We are not aware of any tools like that for OSX, so out of luck here a bit

Hello, there. I am trying to use an overlay from Streamelements for the first time. I have the URL saved and I'm trying to add it as the URL to a browser source in OBS live. However, when I emulate the alert, the alert is not centered in the browser source box in OBS. The alert is cut off and looks as though it is shifted to the far right where I can only see a tiny portion of the alert. Help?

im switching to Elements, and its great so far, but the one problem is that I need to be able to choose my Youtube live settings, ie private/unlisted/public stream as well as choose my Live thumbnail.

Hi. That does not look like an issue with OBS.Live.
More like an issue with drivers or something else that runs deeper into the system and is used by this software. The most common point would be the GPU acceleration used by those programs - if the drivers crash, that can result in such issues.

This can be done on our end with custom CSS too if you need it as a custom widget with rounded corners.

What I'm actually trying to achieve is having ZERO rounded corners. I want them edges. But doing that code with 0 still leaves 1-2px of rounded.

You would need to create a fully custom widget to do this in our editor. The chat widget does not have custom CSS options by default.

I would recommend checking the OBS project discord - we only provide a plugin and do not change how the styling options in OBS work.

Oh my gosh that option is probably it. I assumed it picked an alert randomly FROM THE MATCHING CRITERIA. Not just completely at random.
But now that means there's just... no way to do what I want? My alerts are for a "dice roll" effect. That's why 5%. A 20 sided die, each alert shows one of the numbers 1-20. 5% chance each.

It sounds like what's happening is that the "base alert" is included in the random as well? Since it technically has no requirements other than "user subscribed"?
This is frustrating, I'm not seeing a logical way to do this.

Right but if I turn it off... my 1-20 alerts need to NOT have the same chances, which I need them to for a random d20 roll.
If I try to work that "base alert" in by making it say, 1, and then have the other 19 as normal and keep that option ON... that means the first time someone ever subs it'll ALWAYS show the 1 and I'll never be able to have a base alert.
Is there any way to exclude that base alert from the "pick alert randomly" option? Or a clever way to accomplish what I want that I'm not seeing?

If you turn that off, the chances will apply for each individual alert. So if you have 20 of them with 5% chance, it will roll the dice and pick one with a 5% chance and since this is random it can pick whatever.

We can remove the base alert and create a variation for 1 month to bypass the issue, since we can't put a chance on the base alert.

Okay so what exactly do I need to do? Since I tried "removing" the base alert by just wiping the sound and image that displays but that didn't remove it. It just made it so that when it was "picked randomly" nothing happened at all.

I don't think it's doing it proper. In SE I got an animation (rolled a 3) but on OBS absolutely nothing happened (which is what I'd expect if it picked the base alert, which is currently set to nothing at all)
If I do a test alert of 1 month exactly it works perfectly with the "base alert variant months = 1" every time.
If I do Emulate --> Sub --> Custom and then put more than 1 month... sometimes it'll do the rolls (it picks 2, or 7, or 13, etc.) but sometimes... nothing at all happens. (Probably hitting that base "nothing" alert)
So it seems like blanking it doesn't disable it?

This works as intended with the base alert set to 19, i have that set to 19.
So you can remove the variation with the number 19 now and keep everything else enabled, it will be randomized properly.

Aha so we've used that "pick at random" and worked WITH the base one. Really though it's true random so that 5% could be set to anything right? Once it looks at the variants and base and goes "these 20 things meet the condition" then it just picks one at complete random (or however you guys are doing your random algorithm.
So now I've got a "Base Variant" alert that'll always work when someone is a NEW sub (instead of the actual base alert) and then the ACTUAL base alert is one of the "chances" to roll, along with the other 19 variants... which it picks at random.
Is that right?

Can you make sure you select only one profile page when logging in with Facebook?
Logging in with FB while multiple pages are selected is not working right now, this is a known issue
It can affect both our site and our tools

I would suggest a clean reinstall in that case. Save your profiles and scene collections by exporting them from OBS top menu. Then uninstall OBS.Live, uninstall OBS Studio, grab a fresh OBS Studio installer and then install the stable release of OBS.Live from here:

Use Display Driver Uninstaller to wipe your GPU driver and then reinstall it. DDU is a free and safe tool that makes sure that everything that is related to the graphics driver is uninstalled
Since this is a visual glitch and it persists through a reinstall, i would try that next

I'm not exactly sure what is causing this issue. Looks like a local issue for sure and as the next step i would recommend testing it with a simple GPU swap, of course if you have a spare GPU to test it

I know this sounds weird, but maybe the windows installation took a wrong turn somewhere. Getting to the root cause of that issue might be very tricky, this is the only report so far.
And from what i have seen - hardware acceleration bugging out, games not functioning and now the visual glitch in OBS - i could recommend a fresh windows install if this is an option. Just in case.
In general it is really hard to track down those issues and a reinstall is often a faster fix.

For some reason every time I use Cloud Backup of my streaming setup, it removes multiple dock options from OBS View menu completely, they were a part of my set up when I created the backup but now it doesn't get loaded in and it doesn't let me add it because the option gets removed from the View>Docks dropdown menus completely
I have tried multiple fresh installs of both the add-on and the OBS studio, but every time the docks disappear and they cease to be options after I import my backup

hey! thanks for getting back to me, alerts seem to of stopped, so in OBS on the streamelements tab at the top, the dropdown, stream setup>> edit widgets data>> after clicking this it opens a pop up window but it stays blank.

Hey I haven't been able to connect my custom bot to OBS Live at all. I've tried repeatedly to log-in but it still doesn't show up and I can't even send a test message with it. I've tried making sure OBS and OBS live are updated plus relogging with my main account but nothing has worked so far. I did change my username on Twitch a couple of months ago but like I've said I've relogged/reconnected on all my current integrations.

I don't understand how others have the transparent middle in overlay,but then non-transparent around it,and transparent-background items on the screen for different reasons. How to describe.. The default notification animations for new follower,for example, I want something like those sizes but transparent animation.

Make sure your overlay is correct resolution. You also should have a base canvas of 1920x1080 and scaled output lower like 1280x720

yes? I'm sorry,I'm not good at explaining..I really just want to know what upload option for a simple animated thing,that also gives transparency. I did once with my hype cup,it is as a webm file,but now I try to test with a simple doodle animation even. Video source via Stream key on Facebook gaming. I’ve streamed so much in the past and had no problems but just recently it doesn’t work at all. Hi. With FB gaming you need to start the livestream from the "Live Video Settings" tab instead of the "start streaming" button - can you try it? This is a known issue.

No, the fix above (if applied correctly) will reset the custom bot function and return the bot to the original name, StreamElements.
This is what you need to do so you can then keep using the bot with the default name or rename it again

Yes everything is working as expected in that case, the bot is set to the default name and is responding according to commands and the cooldowns for the commands
If you keep spamming the same command, it will not respond until that command is off cooldown.
