We don't really have support for how lightstream views our overlays, but if they are set at 1920x1080 then there is likely something in the lightstream interface that needs to be adjusted to match.

G'day all. im having issues with my Alerts showing up on stream. when someone follows/subs ect i Hear the alert but the alert wont show on my Stream or Preview screen until i alt tab and target my OBS window.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Hi guys! Does anyone know how to get two webcams working in one scene for OBS If I wanted to do something like an art stream?? I have two different sources set up for both webcams but it will only allow one webcam to be shown at time. I dont have a different program opened anywhere else on my comp with any webcams using the sources.

Use really far away USB ports

If you use the webcams on the same usb bus it will only detect one camera

By separating the cameras on different usb buses it will allow windows to detect and recognize both.

Hi, I'm having a major issue and cannot stream at the moment. I upgraded from a 2070 super to a 3080 this week and since installing the 3080, everytime I open OBS and run my game, the frames drop from 300+ to 60/80/100/120. They do not stay stable. This only happens when I've got OBS running. If OBS isn't on, everything is perfect. What is happening?

We would need to know more about your settings in OBS. In general it is normal that OBS is using some GPU power for acceleration and capture, this is normal. If you stream with NVenc, it will also use some power to encode the stream, it should not have a huge impact, but it can. Also check your hardware usage (CPU and GPU) while it happens, might be overloading something.

GPU is at 50% utilisation when all my streaming and game stuff is open. CPU is at 65-70%. So thats not an issue

Sorry, as a web-dev I'm working on a page to be exclusively ran in a streaming software's browser source. I'm not sure if obslive uses a fork of obs-browser or where it gets the browser connection from, but it checks out with the same identity as my current installation of Chrome. While working on it I realized that a browser source wont retain cookies, witch it's okay for them to be naturally disabled, but it got me wondering what forms of client side storage I am able to work with while running on obslive. (Cookies, HTTP Cache, JS Cache API, JS Service Workers, Web Storage API, IndexedDB API, etc.) Also if there is any way I can confirm the browser that it is being ran in is in-fact obslive (or obs-browser), to make changes accordingly while still being able to collect event data. (cheers, subs, chat msgs, etc.)

Dear SE Staff,

I'm working for a Twitch Partner Streamer as Admin and Mod.
We were using OBS.Live with a custom bot name until yesterday.
I turned on 2FA in the bot account (what seems to have been a big mistake) and since then, OBS.Live can't connect to any custom bot account (I also tried a separate test account to see if the problem is related to the bot account or to OBS.Live).

While researching I stumbled across an older reddit post where someone posted the following response (he got back then):

2) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
3) Open your browser and type in "localhost : 40404"
4) Click on "StreamElements - Activity feed"
5) navigate to the Console tab
6) type in the console this: store*customBot*removeCustomBotIntegration() and hit enter
7) Try setting the custom bot name
8) remove the added addition of step 1```

(I inserted spaces around the : and replaced the . with * to hopefully not get mistakenly flagged/muted by the bot again.)

I followed the steps until step 6 where I can't find anywhere to type the command in the console except for "run command" but when I insert the command it shows "No files found" or "No command found".
In the console I also found the following error:

I have a really weird problem.
I run my BGM as a media source in OBS. Whenever I start my BGM first and then talk into my mic (GO XLR --> Mic/Aux setting) OBS does not pick up my mic.
But if I do it the other way around, speak first and then start BGM it's okay and they recognize both. Anyone knows why?

So I have a quick question. I'm on macOS, and for some reason it's not pulling 60fps from my Elgato HD60 S+... OBS.live says it's getting 60fps from the card, but it looks more like 30/45fps

Elgato's Game Capture HD is able to successfully pull full 60fps from the capture card, so I don't think it's an issue with my USB ports or the capture card itself. OBS.live looks like 60fps when there's not a lot going on with the screen, but as soon as I do wide panning movements, it looks like 30fps again.

Hi. I'm new to streamlabs, coming over from slobs. slobs has a game overlay, that lets you see chat and events on top of your game. This is great since I only have room for one monitor, and I dont want to look away to another screen to read chat. Is there a feature in obslive that lets me do this? Or perhaps a plugin of some kind? Any help would be appreciated.

You have a really low end PC so not much streaming can be done with it. You will have to use the lowest possible settings and something like 720p30FPS.

I personally did that by adding a custom dock for that twitch page

it's an OBS Studio native function
view > docks > custom docks

you can take the link from your twitch creator dashboard and place it in the custom docks window

then you'll have a dock you can open and close for these quick actions from your twitch creator dashboard

I have a really weird problem.
I run my BGM as a media source in OBS. Whenever I start my BGM first and then talk into my mic (GO XLR --> Mic/Aux setting) OBS does not pick up my mic.
But if I do it the other way around, speak first and then start BGM it's okay and they recognize both. Anyone knows why?

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

VLC video source gives you some more options, such as using a playlist of videos. However, there seem to be some reports of it having performance issues so you might want to Google how to properly set it up.

hello everyone. ive been trying to find a solution online, but so far, it hasnt work. everytime i try to add a new browser source of a stream elements overlay, it wont show up. this problem only started last week

-browser sources with overlays ive had for months (overlays i made in streamelements) still work.
-browser sources of any other kind works
-fixes ive tried is unticking the browser source acceleration, and redownloading obs and stream elements

Hi, I am trying to do something kind of crazy. I am trying to stream to twitch and discord at the same time using the power of OBS to put on a real show. I’m not sure if that is outside the scope of this section. I can successfully display the visuals either using a virtual camera or capturing a preview window. The audio however has proven much more tricky. I have attempted to use voice meter to relay all of my desktop audio through to discord, but it ends up a garbled mess. All I would like is to pipe in my output that would go to twitch right into discord. What can I do?

So here is my current issue:

• I am trying to reconnect an old custom bot to my obs-live. Previously I would just have to reconnect it every few months, but I have been lazy about this for about a year.
• I login using my "bot" account's credentials under "Connect Custom Bot Account"
• The pop-up page closes and proceeds to still say "Set custom bot name" in the dropdown again.
• This loop is never ending.

Here is what I have tried thus far:

• Reinstalling Obs-Live
• Use a custom browser deck integration in regular Obs-Studio instead of Obs-Live
• Use the target -- remote - debugging - port = 40404 along with then using localhost: 40404 to navigate to Streamelements - Activity Feed. In the console entering store . customBot . removeCustomBotIntegration and reattempting to login using my "bot's" credentials.
• Made a fresh "bot" account and repeated the above attempts.

Just repeated the above steps and it worked. After three hours of this, the only reason the clearing of the bot integration wasn't working was because the two "()" at the end of the console line weren't in the forum posting I was reading from! How funny

Hey guys, I'm trying to switch over from SLOBS to SE but I am running into an issue I didn't have with SLOBS. When I use Game Capture > capture specific window, I get the game feed no problem in SLOBS but in SE it's just a black screen. Same settings, same everything. The only "help" I found online was that I have to uninstall everything, go into my appdata and delete everything. Is that really the only way to fix this, or is there a simpler way?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

yeah Ive never had this issue with SLOBS or regular OBS. Only with SE. I hope there's a workaround, because I'm told SE is superior to SLOBS in almost every way.

Couple things.

You're still using OBS. OBS.Live is merely an addon only messes with the browser source.

There's no reason why it would behave any different with/without it installed because it's the same thing with both instances.

SLOBS on the other had we can't speak for as that's their own thing they muddled around with.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Users can choose to make the channels that they subscribe to public or private. By default, all settings are set to private.

Private: When a user's subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

I was wondering how I can get access to Media Request. I only started my channel about a week ago, and I have only one subscriber on YouTube. I stream music 24/7, and I do not stream on Twitch.

Ideally, I would like to set up the bot to accept a !request command such that, when it is used properly, it finds that piece of music on my Spotify playlist and adds it to the front of the queue.

Hi, I would like to know if there are actually any differences in OBS.Live compared to the mainline OBS Studio besides the OBS.Live plugin and the exe's in the plugin directory? I use four different portable instances of OBS and have tried to copy the plugin and exe's across to the portable installation I use for Twitch. However, when I launch that instance, OBS prompts to update OBS.Live... I click update, then it goes through the motions and closes OBS, then prompts to close running applications so it closes the updater and prompts again when I reopen OBS.

My Subs alert is not working even though I did gained subs and on SE it's still showed that I am live for like 15-20 mins after ending it

Hi all, So, I have OBSLive setup and StreamElements setup, I think. Although I have the StreamElements Chat visible and working, I think. Not sure how to proceed with Streamelements. Am I right in thinking I have to go to a browser to do anything with StreamElements? I've setup and account - logged on - trying to create an overlay - uploaded an image - this doesn't show. Benn using OBS for awhile - my background have been static (created in Powerpoint as an image then put into OBS - worked fine).

In general you want to create at least one overlay with the alertbox and add that as browser source in OBS

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible. https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

Thanks for that. Yup - did that - added the alertbox (just a blank box, apparently) - still unable to add any image to the overlay. Add as a browser source and, of course, just a blank box.

To add the image to the overlay, you need to select "Image" in the editor when adding new widgets and then select the file and upload the file to that selection.

Our overlays can hold a big amount of widgets and sources, you need to arrange them in a certain way

This seems way harder than simply created a background image and using it directly in OBS. Just doesn't seem to work

It is more complex and more resource heavy compared to having the image directly in OBS, but you get all the benefits of a cloud overlay.

Only if it actually works. Using a predesigned ovelay - I can see how they are put together, however, it seems uploading my own images just doesn't work. None of my images can be seen - renders it pretty useless.

Using Chrome - similar problem in Safari.

If you go to the predesigned overlay, can you check how the sources are added so you can replicate? We have no issues adding images to the overlays. Some rare file formats like jfif might not be supported, but in general everything works as expected

Profiles in OBS.Live are the same as in OBS Studio - the plugin does not change those at all.

So multiple profiles still exist and they are compatible with Studio

My question may of not made sense, if I have 2 profiles, one for Twitch and one for Youtube does signing into SE on the Twitch profile with Twitch hold it there and doing the same for Youtube on profile 2 hold the YT signin

There are 2 different things here.
First is the OBS profile that has all the settings for audio, video, stream key etc.
This can be switched from the top menu. It does NOT contain the OBS.Live Login data

Then there is the Login via Platform in OBS.Live - that actually connects to YT, Twitch etc. - and that one requires a relog every time you switch, it can't be done on the fly.

This is what is responsible for chat and activity feed, but not for the stream settings.

No custom code required for that function at all.

We recommend you to watch a few guides around our overlay editor so you get an idea where everything is and how that works.

You can try display capture, but it captures everything on your monitor so it’s best if you have 2+ monitors

Thats not how you transfer a plugin over

There are more files then just the .exe file

hence why its prompting an update

also I would not guarantee that OBS.Live will work properly with a portable version, as it actually needs to install it self and add its proper files within the folder it self (and another location)
