Hello, I used to have a custom bot name for my chat.. However I wanted to change that name and it worked for a little while, but now the bot name doesn't show up. I tried reconnecting the bot and that didn't work. I then made an entirely new bot account for the renamed chat bot, but everytime I try to connect it the option doesn't show up for the username... Is there something I am doing wrong? Iv'e tried parting and rejoining the bot. That didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled OBSLive and StreamElements OBS app, that didn't work. I parted the bought, signed out of the dashboard, resigned in and joint the bot again, that didn't work either.

Do you mean that the custom name does not show up in the available names in the custom bot name, or does not appear in chat?

The custom name does not appear in the available names. It let's me sign in to the bot account but when I go through the bot test and then hit the authorize button the custom bot name doesn't appear in the list. It just shows StreamElements, my own username, and "custom bot name"

You'll need to add the custom name to the available names

How do I do that?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@rugged quail I've done that already... This is my issue. When I do all that the custom name will not appear.

I will login, do the recapta test thing, hit authorize, and it just goes back tot he original list. The bot account name doesn't show up and the "test message" button does not activate, it just stays greyed out.

I've had a bot account on there. Yesterday I changed the bot name and it was fine. Then later on the bot account wasn't showing up and this custom bot name issue started happening.

I've tried parting the bot and making it rejoin in multiple ways. I tried creating a whole different bot account. Yet, I am still getting this issue

@hybrid mountain the host event will happen if Twitch sends us the host event first and the raid even will be ignored. 9 out of 10 times afaik the host event will come before the raid event.

That being said you can turn off the host event and just have the raid one

Hi everyone, I had setup my bot to use my twitch username, and it worked for a day or so. Now, none of my commands or anything will work under the custom name. Hello. I'm having issues with muting my mic in OBS.

I go into the settings and assign a combination of keys, of which I've tried many, and it doesn't mute the mic when I press them

I also tried the other keybinds to see if someone else was wrong, but they all work fine. The mute function is the only one that doesn't work. I recently got a mic that doesn't have a physical mute button on it so it's a pain if I have no way to mute it. Maybe someone can help me. Thank you ❤️

It works in SLOBS just fine. But for whatever reason the mute/unmute key in SE. Live just doesn't do anything

I fixed the issue. I had to add an additional audio source to the sources tab so that it could be muted seperately from the normal mic/aux area. Strange. Got it working tho!

OBS.Live is basically the updated/replacement Ground Control, so GC isn't really being worked on anymore unfortunately.

However, OBS.Live shouldn't be using up resources like that. I know sometimes multiple versions can be running in task manager and you have to end them all to get it to work right.

Yeah ive been keep a close eye on my task manager, that's not happening. however uninstalling and reinstalling did have a minimal effect.

i think it would be fair to your users if you didn't force them to use a plugin to OBS to use your service

if u want obs to ignore an audio u will need to split audio somehow, ppl often uses voicemeter if i'm not wrong but u will need to search on youtube about it. As we don't do support in this "sector" directly

@median cargo If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

There are other features within those to use, like custom bot control, but most features are centered on those things listed.

The overlays can stay as files or be uploaded, depends on how you want to use them.

If you upload it, you would be making it into a url resource instead of a image resource

Ok, the second line of text does in fact appear, but it's outside of the widget. If you enlarge the widget, you'll see that the second line is pushed all the way down to below the blue box.

I recommend you play with the text settings, for both the primary and secondary text. Go to the Advanced tab and play around with the settings there until the text is where and how you want it to be.

Good day everyone. If this has already been answered, I apologize, I did check pins too. Every time I start a new stream with OBS Studio, obs.live plugin is attached, I have to log out, then log back into the SE part of OBS, in order for the bot to do shoutouts, messages in Twitch chat when I go live, etc. Moderation works (spam, links, etc), but no message in chat when it happens. I did perform the custom bot name, and it is my channel name, as shown in the pinned message. Does that have anything to do with the issue I'm having?

I've been having issues with my audio output randomly cutting out, usually when I grab out of a game or switch scenes. The only way to fix it has been to remove the source and input it again. Anyone know of a solution to this?

If I listen to the vod with max volume I can barely make out the audio, but it's really quiet and really low quality.

Hi I just installed Streamelements and OBS Live. Using FIrefox, I tried to edit an overlay and it gave me the 'uh oh something went wrong' error. they will probably overlap eachother unless u place them in diff spots, but that will spam hard if u have all of them alerting at the same time, i would just make them very small alerts if u really want to do so, but not worth tbh.

@tropic grail Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Use the Twitch Bandwidth Test to find the best Twitch server to stream to. Set Duration to Medium. You can uncheck any regions you're not near.

After the test completes, click the Share Result button to upload a screenshot, which can then be copied and pasted here.

Hard to say. There shouldn't be a difference, since you're streaming to Twitch in both cases. But we can't be sure.

Hi. If you are an editor for a channel, use the website and duplicate the overlay - this is how you can transfer overlays between accounts.

Hi. Do not rely on ISP to find the issue, they generally do not care unless the connection is dead. You can try different methods to check it, Twitch has their own bandwith tester and there are external test tools like the one from R1ch - feel free to test those out and check what servers are useable for you.

I have my PayPal set up on streamelements and have it set up as link on my page. And double checked that an overlay has the tipping alert on. Yet when I got my tips tonight nothing popped up. @worthy comet If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I can do everything at max settings on this pc but the moment I open OBS and start doing other things it lags. Hi, some days ago my alerts stopped working properly, first it was only showing the animation without sound, now if I try to re-launch a notification from the "Activity Feed" section it does not even show the animation and no sound as well, however if I open my source URL on a browser I can see the alert animation and the sound is played.
So I opened the "live registry" and I found this:

Hello, can anyone help me out? I'm pretty sure it may sound stupid, but I'm new to this. I've set up a few sound alarms and then set them as browser sources on obs. Animations appear just fine, but the sounds aren't playing neither on the live nor on my headphones.

I've tested on streamelements creation tool and it seemed to be working fine.

Am I missing something?

@worldly edge If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

• media/image files are too big (above 30mb)
• unsupported files
• copyrighted assets from SL
