Hi I'm dealing with a black game capture screen now after I recently updated to the newest version of obs. Tried all the "fixes" online like run as administrator, unisntalling, reinstalling, turning off windows game mode, and everything else. It's only with game capture.

Go to Settings -> Hotkey and check there. You definitely have a hotkey for pausing recordings. Maybe you have one for stopping recordings too.

I have a small problem with streaming to Twitch. If I press "Start streaming" then "Start streaming to Youtube" window will pop up. Even after changing all the outputs to Twitch and removing the youtube streamkey all together.

Hello, I am having a problem that is just about to make me switch to another OBS but I really love Streamelements. I hope someone can help me. I have been trying to update my software for a week now and it keeps giving me the same error. "Error opening file for writing:" I have tried everything I could find on the internet about this and no luck. Can someone please help me?

You shouldn't be updating to OBS 26 yet. OBS.Live doesn't support it yet.

@swift eagle Make sure to ☑️ “Shutdown source when not visible” for all browser sources (all OBS scenes). I am trying to get my OBSLive and StreamElements to work but am having major issues. I hope someone can help me. I have been trying to get StreamElements working on my PC and it just comes up with a page that tells me what the Overlays are that are available but the images for these overlays don't show up. It just keeps with the loading image and never completes.

I'm kinda getting scared to ask for help with this one again and again... 😄 Same old one for me. I'm prompted with this after I launch OBS. I've already tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, also resetting the stream key and I also launch it in admin mode by default. I'd like to be able to launch this software and have all my docks in place and ready, not having to click View and then Docks and add them again every time I launch. Mods if you recognise me pls no flame 😄 😄 😄

I changed my username recently and the bot doesn't send a notification in the chat anymore when someone follows, etc even when I had that part checked in the settings. Also in the obs live program, I can't send anything in the chat, or even see when people send something. Can someone help me through this?

@spice copper If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I got the chat to work again by disconnecting my account from obs live and reconnecting it but I would like to update my channel's chatstats as well. So Teewolf01 was my old username and TheChilledTee is now my new username. Thank you 😊

If I disable and renable the ticker layers in the theme editor, they still don't show in the browser or on stream. The tickers are clearly visible to be working in the theme editor itself though.

@torpid turret There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

Hey, Ive just recently started using OBS.Live and the streamelements widgets/overlays, for some reason my overlays and alerts work completely fine but shortly after going live they stop working all together, the webcam overlay freezes and the alerts dont show, although the alert sounds do still play. Adobe Premiere can do that. When a designer made that transition for you ask them. Alternatively you can download a trial version of Adobe Premiere, then download the .webm plugin and do it yourself

For Prime Gaming, the user needs to have sharing enabled on https://www.twitch.tv/settings/prime. When I boot up OBS Live it tells me I need an update, but then I perform the update, and it tells me I need to close these applications to continue, one of the applications is OBS Live and the other is the app that tells me i need to close apps, when I close the applications the update fails

Hello, I'm trying to set up a custom bot name. I've done it before, and it worked, but I accidentally disconnected it. Now, I'm following all of the steps again, but it won't connect. I go to the "connect custom bot account" button, and log in to the second Twitch account with the desired name; I even receive a "successful login" e-mail, but the OBS.live app doesn't move beyond that step, and the custom bot name never appears as an option.

3) Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4) Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404

7) Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8) Try setting the custom bot name
9) Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

Hi SE team, I am streaming poker using SE OBS and ran across something interesting. I play partly on the site natural8, part of the GG network.
For about a week now, I am unable to open that particular poker client.
I have just gotten word from their support that that is a known issues with OBS Studio version 26 and by extension SE OBS.
They told me to downgrade to version 25.0.4 instead.
Is this a known issues and should I be reporting this here or to the OBS studio team?

Hi there, I'm currently having issues with huge amounts of frames being dropped on my OBS, with that happening I get the lovely buffering on twitch. However I've done the twitch test for the best server to connect to, no matter what I connect to i'm dropping thousands of frames even though my internet isn't compromised. I just started randomly happening out of the blue today. So i'm kind of confused as to why that would be happening. ( This is SE OBS btw)

I have a similar question... I actually know that you can add a browser source in OBS... and put the link in there... but it's not working for me. The link works in a browser, I can look at it... but in OBS it's coming up blank

@gusty obsidian There are no "best settings".
Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

So I'm trying to set up the instant replay based off the obs.live tutorial video. But it says to save the media source as the replay buffer file. When i do this though it only will play that replay. When i use my hotkeys to make another replay all it does is save another replay but OBS.live will just replay the original one i saved as the source

@wicked summit The save button is a known issue, but you should still be able to save the game.
If its still not working, then either use the twitch dashboard or chat command !setgame/!settitle or our dashboard to set those.

@elfin river If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Ok, so my custom commands have stopped working

@rugged sinew Valve has implemented a trusted mode which does not allow OBS to hook CS:GO using Game Capture. Read more in their announcement post here https://blog.counter-strike.net/index.php/2020/07/30736/.

Additionally, they have no plans on allowing OBS in trusted mode.

You will need to run the game in either windowed or borderless fullscreen and use Window Capture instead.

Uninstall OBS.Live and OBS Studio completely, but leave this UNchecked https://i.imgur.com/LBaHgM1.png
Download and install OBS Studio from https://obsproject.com/
If it doesn't crash, install OBS.Live too.

Repeat steps 1 and 2
Duplicate the current "Scene Collection" at the very top of OBS, call it something like "Backup" and remove all browser sources in that backup
Install OBS.Live and see if it still crashes

If yes, repeat steps 1 and 2, leave OBS.Live uninstalled, tell us that it didn't work and use your old default scene collection again.

hey hoping this is the right place for this. just setting up for the first time and ran into a hurdle i cant seam to solve. when i go to make alerts i cant seam to get the text ontop of the image (like have the image below the text) i can put the text above below and to the sides but not over top. am i missing something or is this not an option

@graceful raptor If you are not seeing likes/shares on your current stream or page, that might be due to how the privacy settings of the person liking/sharing your stream are set.
If they are set to private we won't be able to see the events.
Specifically for shares, if they share in private groups, we won't be able to see the event.

This could happen for 2 reasons, you don't have admin rights to unistall aplicactions
or
you uninstall obs studio first causing that obs.live (this is a plugin for obs studio) uninstaller to crash

@unkempt quiver just import. we're picking up things we can move over from SLOBS, along with tipping. You'll have brand new overlays in your dashboard and you should start setting it up from there

I dunno about specific file extension types, but I know we can import and have the overlays created as overlays with us, in your dashboard

I'd suggest making sure videos and visual assets don't exceed 30MB in slobs

Hi, I am using OBS Studio and he Focus pack from yourself. I was progressing fine and had the alerts added as a browser course overlay which when I ran and emulated follower for example would show in my scene in OBS. Yesterday this as stopped working. I have created a new profile, a new scene collection and reimported Focus etc. Adding back in the alerts as a browser source on a totally black scene yields nothing. I am running OBS Studio 26.0.2. Nothing fancy. the source is setup to 1920x1080. Any advice would be most welcome Thanks..

hey everyone.. so im having a slight issue... i redownloaded SEOBS LIVE and tried to reinstall my overlays. I went to the graphics settings and found the obs exe file and set it up so the display would show up. Now the issue is If i have it on windows default or high performance my overlays will show up but my display wont. I set it up on power saving and my display shows up but I loose my overlays

@neat iron If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

@chrome stirrup 1) Restart OBS
2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

You have some CPU and GPU overload, so you may want to turn down some settings. Make sure you also check for Windows and driver updates.

So I have an issue that's probably been asked before, but I cannot get the Alert Box working in the stream itself. Works fine on the streamelements site. Except.....I don't quite know where to turn as I'm not using OBS, I'm using AVerMedia's internal program on the capture card. RECentral 4

I had it working once, and then I tried adding a chatbox to the same overlay on streamelements and...it broke the alert box

Avermedia's software may not have the capacity to use them effectively.

So I guess, if anyone else comes in looking for the AVerMedia solution, in RECentral 4, have to click and drag the web window corners to the stream window edges....really weird, but it works again. @tulip hamlet

hi guys im not sure where to ask this in the help so i'll try this one, I want to set up sound commands. so if someone where to do !sound in the chat audio would play. i wanted it to be limited to subscribers as well.

I thought i'd be able to make one command trigger another with the streamelements bot, but i dont think i can with that. I'm unsure what to do at this point..

Go to https://streamelements.com/overlay, and go to your custom overlay.
Press the three dots to copy URL
OBS.live --> add a browser source to your scene
Paste that URL in that browsers source, and it ll load 🙂

Weirdly enough they do earn points (as !points show the amount of points they currently have)
I've tried deleting the user, gave him extra points, deleted and re-enabled the streamelements bot.. Nothing works.

p.s. most of the viewers are able to redeem items, just 1 or 2 users will receive an error message after redemption

hey everyone posting again cause I never got an answer.. i redownloaded SEOBS LIVE and tried to reinstall my overlays. I went to the graphics settings and found the obs exe file and set it up so the display would show up. Now the issue is If i have it on windows default or high performance my overlays will show up but my display wont. I set it up on power saving and my display shows up but I loose my overlays. HELP!!!
