Hi, i am trying to re-connect my custom bot to my obs.live however, this does not seem to work anymore. Everything I had to do is still the same tipping is still up and my custom bot name is moderator but for some reason, it still does not want to work out.

@mortal bone If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I already did all that but like I said OBS.LIVE says that the account is successfully connected but it ain't there.

Why do I always need to over explain the simplest things and end up with standard answers that do not apply to me. This is so frustrating to even encounter this kind of automation here 😦

D: The bot has been successfully connected but it ends up not showing up

I even went so far to go through the video guide to make sure if I did everything correctly. It always worked before, now not so much anymore. Something is amiss and i do not know where to look to find the issue bc, if I look from the point what I need to do and the steps I need to take I do not see what I did wrong. :S

PS: I am not using Ground Control but I am trying to do this directly through OBS.LIVE -> Activity Feed

For your problem, there's one other thing you can try:

1. Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut and open the Properties
2. In the Target field, add the following to the very end: --remote-debugging-port=40404
3. Open OBS (or restart if it was open)
4. Open your web browser and type in: localhost:40404
5. Click on StreamElements - Activity feed
6. Navigate to the Console tab
7. Type the following into the console and hit enter: store.customBot.removeCustomBotIntegration()
8. Try setting the custom bot name
9. Remove the additional flag in step 2 from your shortcut properties.

the difficulty usually in Window Capture or Game Capture for Games is generally related to the Anti-Cheat system. So, what they ask is to use the game when possible in window mode or open the game and then create the source Game Capture in OBS.

Hi guys. I'm completely moving over from another streaming software service and that one had an awesome overlay where I could see chat while I'm in game. I only have one monitor unfortunately and I can't have OBS displayed elsewhere to read incoming chat. Using the phone is an inconvenience and I usually prefer not to use it as it may take extra internet latency which may bother stream quality.

Is there a plugin of some sort where I can activate while I am in game so I can see the chat and also recent activity?

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

@stone valve 10 minutes of watchtime are given to those in chat when the loyalty points are handed out (every 10 minutes). Therefore, loyalty must be enabled for watchtime to work properly.
There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does not affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

@arctic estuary I can help you with that, put a filter compressor in your game audio source in OBS, ratio 32:1 threshold -60dB, attack 1ms and release around 50ms. Then put the ducking source to be your microphone. If you don't want to mute when speaking but just dim, play around with the threshold slider.

Hello, I'm having an issue where all of a sudden my backup playlist doesn't play automatically when I'm using Media Request through OBS live. I have to manually click Next to play the next video. Issue doesn't seem to happen if I use the website version of Media Request.

After many tests and no solution, we uninstalled OBS.Live and OBS Studio, however, keeping users' files on the computer. So, we reinstalled OBS.Live and OBS Studio, tested, and the Media Request player still didn't work to display the video on Overlay.

So, we redid the uninstall, however, this time we also deleted the user files. We did the installation and the test worked.

We also backed up all profiles and scenes using OBS Studio tools. After testing the new installation, without old data, the user files were imported and a new test was performed ... the player is working! 🙂

Recently I have been having issues with OBS Live randomly dropping to 0 kbps. I know it is not my internet, because I ran a speed test and was where I need to be. It has happened twice this week. @timber oyster If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

@light dome If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, I started streaming on twitch tv for some time, at first everything worked fine, but at some point the stream on twitch started to jam, I tried to change servers to German and tp. it worked for a while and again the same thing, the OBS preview shows a smooth gameplay, and there is something else on the live scene, the whole scene is lagging, even alerts, donatey and tp, I would also like to point out that during the longer stream I have a "Encoding loaded" written at the bottom

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

If that doesn't fix it, try creating a new Overlay at https://streamelements.com/dashboard/overlays and adding the Media Request widget to this overlay, then add the Overlay link to OBS to test the video by the Media Request Player.

If that still doesn't fix it, click the update button on the Media Request window in the upper left corner of the window. And test the video by the Media Request Player.

If the error persists, then let's go to the procedure below (follow the step-by-step with some images)...

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hey so I have a couple questions about the integrated music player!

First, can you give it non YouTube links. Second, what are the chat commands for viewers to request music?

@viscid sleet the OBS has a problem with export data when using the default profile/scene names.

you will need to do some procedures manually to correct it ...

open the Run tool (press [Windows]+R keys) and type %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Temp ... press [Enter]

now, press in the "Modified Date" column, to organize and show the files that were last modified...

you will see a file named with letters and numbers with a .tmp extension... Example: obs4D9K.tmp ... copy this file to the "My Documents" folder

rename the extension file from .tmp to .zip

extract the files from the .zip file into the "My Documents" folder

now, you can see the folders "profiles" and "scenes" saved from your OBS.Live

close and reopen the OBS.Live ...

now, on the OBS, you have to import manually your profiles (Profiles menu) and your scenes (Scenes menu)

if you have questions or as soon as you get to this point, call me to continue with the directions 🙂

@viscid sleet yes, your data is saved in a folder named "obslive_restored_files" and when you extracted the files from the .zip file to the "My Documents" folder, the folder will also be there ... you can put the files in the same location where it were before you backed up the files... or put in a location new, however, there in OBS you must link all your content in the scenes to the restored files to return to display them in your scenes/overlays.

Hi, I have always used the custom bot set to my name so I can use custom commands such as hype etc with my own emotes, however for some reason its not working, even though my account is connected and I haven't changed any settings. I'm not really sure why it has done this as I haven't changed anything. I tried setting a custom bot name and that will ask me to log in and then do nothing. I tried logging in and out of my Twitch with StreamElements but nothing seems to be working

I've noticed you cannot input your own custom variables to custom commands. I'm looking at adding a prediction system implemented into my streams where viewers can type in the chat for example: !predict {number input from chat} and have the command say "{user} made a prediction of {number}".

Could this be a possible variable command that could be implemented into for the future?

When I place alert boxes on the Streamelements (SE) page they don't seem to appear where I placed them on SLOBS. Even though I have set the resolution on SE (1920x1080) to the same as my SLOBS window. I have to put the alert box almost to the far left in the SE window to make it appear in the right corner on SLOBS even though the resolutions on both windows should be the same. Are there any consistent way to do this?

@clear spear We're not able to troubleshoot issues with using our overlays in StreamLabs OBS (SLOBS) as we don't have the tools to support their software. We recommend using OBS Studio or OBS Studio with our plugin OBS.Live.

@versed oak If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@pseudo nebula Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

Hello, i set up a number of chat commands to play sounds i placed in the stream store. This function worked for a very long time but now doesn't seem to play the sounds. the points are removed and everything in the chat looks ok, just the sounds aren't working. when i go into the stream store and play the sounds they activate so they are functioning. Is there another step i'm forgetting to get these to work? thank you

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

1) Right click on your OBS desktop shortcut -> properties - in the "Target" field add this -> --remote-debugging-port=40404
2) Open OBS(or restart if it was open)
3) Open your browser and type in "localhost:40404"
4) Click StreamElements - Media request link
5) Point the (in browser) URL to https://youtube.com
6) Use the OBS dock to search for a song and play it after ads
7) Restart OBS and preform media request via chat
8) Remove --remote-debugging-port=40404 from shortcut

if it was unchecked, all sounds should use the default windows output, if you enable it you will be able to select if you want to output + monitor (on the advance audio properties)

What do you mean by 'appears to be on'? What happens in OBS when you emulate events from the Editor? what happens live?

Was it working previously or is this a new setup?

Hey there, I have some problems with my custom widgets.

1. I have a customized credit roll widget. Once started it rolls the text. But if I switch the szene and wanna go back and see the whole text roll again, it only continues since the last opening. How can i reset it with scene switchting via OBS? The only way I found is too clear the browser cache manually in OBS.
2. I have an alert box widget an additional customized widget for subgift alerts on the same overlay. In my tests in SE the customized widget does, what I want. But on my Twitch stream via OBS it didn't, it only shows the alert box events. I don't know, what to do or how to debug this :(

@covert wraith sometimes if your bitrate is too high that can cause stream performance issues, the default for twitch is 6000 which is way too high, i put mine at 3500

im still learning how to do all of this as well, so thats as far as i can help unfortunately
