Also people have played the sound alerts and they sound like they are doubled over ... help?

Hey, i'm having issues using the Custom Bot. I've linked the Twitch account to the OBS.live custom bot section, however it doesn't let me send a test message and still requests that i connect an account. Can someone help?

I also checked the connections on the Account and it shows Streamelements has connected.

@blazing flame If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If you're referring to a cheer alert, that's adjusted by changing the alertbox's settings.

Being told by OBS that your plugin breaks core components and to for all intents and purposes uninstall your plugin. Before I go to this length given that I have deliberately transferred from streamlabs to stream elements, is there anybody who can assist with streamelements breaking the authentication on startup??

OBS.Live doesn't break the authentication. It doesn't even touch the authentication. Relog in Settings>Stream, and if that doesn't work, perhaps just use a stream key instead.

I do use a streamkey, and deactivated/reactivated this afternoon on the advice of one of the mods in this chat

the error is still happening which is why I came back this evening for further assistance

If you've only been using a stream key, then instead go to Settings>Stream and try using the actual login connection.

what you've just told me to do, means thats not possible.

my stream team members have this, the chat, the stream info and all of the other OBS modules for scenes layers mixer etc

so, in order to have the above, I cannot use a streamkey I must connect my account which then breaks the authentication - purely so I have this correct in my head.

This information is being contradicted by the screenshots being shared with me by my team members, they have a streamkey in the settings and they are connected directly with their account

would it make a difference if they are US based and I am not?

Your issue is that your OBS will not effectively connect with your Twitch account via direct connection.
This is an issue with OBS Studio and your Twitch account. It is not related to StreamElements functionality.

The workaround you've just been provided allows you to get most of the functionality back via OBS.Live options, but not everything is available with that method.

For a proper solution, you need to speak with OBS Studio's volunteer support for further assistance. And not random users with grudges against us.

You can certainly try. Make sure to uninstall OBS.Live before you uninstall OBS Studio. As a plugin, it's dependent on OBS Studio being present.

I created a custom overlay, but obs is not displaying it the same way as firefox, not sure if this is a browser compatibility thing. Basically, I set up an svg in the html and used it as a mask to create a window for my camera. The mask works in the browser, but not in OBS, any suggestions?

@tall garnet Our Dashboard and Overlay editor are Chromium Optimized. We strongly recommend using Chrome. Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. FireFox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. We do not recommend using Internet Explorer with our Dashboard as it does not support functions.
If the website doesn’t work on chrome, be sure none of your plugins are blocking our website or clear your cookies. You can try if the website works in a incognito tab.

Hi. I'm having an issue where my StreamElements only accepts either my game audio OR my webcam. If my webcam is on, my game audio won't work, if my game audio is on, my webcam won't work. We've tried removing all sources and re-adding them but that didn't work.

Also, occasionally when I close down StreamElements, it swaps which one is working - if I have both sources active, it'll randomise which one turns on, and then if I reload SE, it'll choose the alternative. Sometimes it's webcam, sometimes it's game audio.

Okay so ever since last update, OBS doesn't let me use my GTX 1060 anymore to start it.... and therefore whatever game I play on stream lags like ass
I changed every single nvidia and pc graphics setting to always use GTX and added OBS manually and also the game, but as soon as I start OBS it switches to my integrated(intel) what can I do to fix that :/ The games without OBS on run just fine

I looked through your log and can see that this is enabled. [rtmp stream: 'adv_stream'] Dynamic bitrate enabled. Dropped frames begone!

This can result in your bitrate to be all over the place 🙂

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

And another problem with alerts. Now when I am testing TTS alerts after the animation plays only the first word is spoken. Occassionally the entire message gets through but 95% of the time I only get 1 word.

Streamelements alert box: itll work at first and suddenly start showing alerts muted/stop showing alerts (example: 2 alerts work fine, then 3rd alert during the stream and onward become muted or doesnt play). ive tried reloading overlays, pausing/unpausing, muting/unmuting, etc but hasnt fixed it.

i've even gone onto the overlay site and pushed "emulate: follow" alerts and nothing would show up or show up muted too.

actually you will gain quality 1080p streaming even 900p requires more bandwidth than the famous 6000Kb to be proper in fast changing pixels or you will get pixilation. by lowering the resolution the encoder get more time to each frame and the "encoding blocks" in each frame is smaller. So if some one have a newer tv and is using upscaling their image with 1280x720 stream, if you keep the bitrate at 6000, will be way cleaner than 1600x900 at the same bitrate because it has to push more pixels in the same timeframe hence it will block more at high speed like FPS, driving and such

i actually didn't notice a firend of mine who ran 810p for years that he downgraded to 720p 😄

If you changed your name on Twitch please follow these steps:
🔹 Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again with by connecting with Twitch.
🔹 On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select "Join" under bot settings. If it says "Part" select that and then select "Join" to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
🔹 Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Yeah the AMD encoder is pretty bad for streaming because AMD just doesn't care, but your CPU isn't great for encoding. I know that because I have the 4790k 😄
I'd recommend you to use the AMD encoder with 720p 60fps. If you get pixelation, lower the fps to 30. Something like 45 or 50 fps.
Back then with my R9 380x, I had to stream with 720p 30fps 6000 bitrate.

The Activity Feed is not related to the chat stats, only for https://stats.streamelements.com/c/USERNAME. Did you relog in OBS.Live? Chances are that they subbed between the name change and relog, so our system missed those subs.

Steps:

1. Install the font on the streaming PC or choose a pre-installed windows font.

Note: After installing fonts, the browser and OBS must be restarted for the font to appear.

If they are set to private we won't be able to see the events.
Specifically for shares, if they share in private groups, we won't be able to see the event.

@real nexus If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button

Can you nest chat commands? Like say you had

!day = current day
!year = current year
!time = current time

And create the following
!when = !month !day !year !time

ex if I did each for now it would break down like this

!month = August
!day = 6
!year = 2020
!time = 9:54pm EST

Or just
!when = August 6 2020 9:54pm EST

So I run TTRPG streams, one right now 3 more coming and I want a !cast command to then populate each cast information, then having it where they can call out the cast of each show on its own

i.e.

!cast = !campain !TWF !AHH !CAE

!campain = cast names
!TWF = cast names
etc

That way if you want to see all my lineup casts, you do !cast but if you are wanting to see whos on stream on a particular days stream you can do the command based on that streams group

Did you add an alertbox and set up the events? if you did, just make sure to hit 'save' before emulating events

Private: When a users subscriptions are set to private, no other user can see what channels they subscribe to. A user's account does not show in a channel's Subscribers List, even if they are subscribed.
Public: When users subscriptions are set to public, another user can see what channels they subscribe to. User subscriptions are listed on their channel page, and their account is listed in the Subscribers List for any channel they subscribe to.

Yes, live. I'm unable to type anything into the chat, and when I click on the gear cog I get "Error loading data"

It worked two ago then just stopped connecting whatsoever.

Cut the Data from the OBS-transition and paste it in the OBS.Studio Data folder

Do the same for OBS-Plugin Folder

Make sure OBS.Studio is off when you do that & you should be good.

@fleet wigeon hey! you can go to your windows settings, go to graphics settings then set it as a classic app. look for the obs.exe from where you installed it then once it's added -- hit options then select power saving

or if you're using game capture, better to capture a specific window, then for the window match priority, it should be match title, otherwise find window of same executable. then make sure SLI/crossfire capture mode is checked
