I've recently had that after a Windows reimage, the cause of that is having two installations of SE.live, uninstall the other instance (usually under C:\Program Files\obs-studio if you have it installed elsewhere) and then reopen OBS. you and also delete the SE.live files and reinstall from there.

When trying to update SE.Live I seem to be in a loop that doesn't work. I launch OBS, SE.Live says update, I run the updater, I close OBS, the updater says close programs before continuing, I accept, the updater dissappears and nothing else happens. It just keeps doing that and won't install no matter how many times I try (yesterday and again today).

It looks to me like the updater is in the list of programs to close so it closes when I select "yes".

Hey there! I've recently updated and installed OBS 28.0.1 and the latest version of SE.Live- I've been able to launch OBS, but on any instance that I try to log in to my Twitch account (Or other buttons on attempt) with SE.Live, whether through the welcome screen, File Bar, or by bypassing the login using the pop-out Activity Dock URL as a custom dock*, I receive a crash with no error. Has there been any reports of this so far, or any thoughts on how to resolve?

Resolved! I had to launch OBS in administrator- After the first Twitch login, it crashed, but on re-launch, activity feed re-appeared as a dock, and allowed me to login again.

I am using a custom bot name. On some of my commands the bot will reply with channel emotes on other commands it just responds with the text. Any help as to how to get the emotes to display reliably?

I am sometimes not smart. The emotes it cannot use are the ones for tier2 and tier3 subs. Just realized that I gave it a tier 1 sub.

Yes, the cause of the issues was due to running obs in admin mode with f1 manager, something conflicted with each other causing the issues, when running obs without admin mode it was perfect

Thank you! It seems to have been resolved, however. I keep getting the Plugin Load Error message when I start up.

I don't know if it's also related or not, but a few StreamDeck/SE.Live features don't seem to work, either. I have some media hotkeys that no longer are functioning. It says that "This StreamElements SE.Live action is offline. Please wait for it to become available."

So I'm not sure what the root of my problem is but for about the past month my stream will randomly drop but reconnect within 5-10 seconds this happens 3-4 times a stream I never had this issue before. idk if its twitch or obs but my internet itself has been fine and I never disconnect from the game or experience lag. Hi! I was about to start my stream after the new update to SE.Live and I got a notification that said I wouldn't be able to because my video card drivers does not support the NVENC version. OBS did update. A lot of the buttons got larger and the font got wider, so that might be what you're seeing. Your scenes/overlays should be saved on the streamelements website but you'll have to manually set up new scenes for them in OBS if you didn't back up.

I don't now what is going on. I have uninstalled and reinstalled SE.Live and my overlays are not working. I will turn off stream and my notifications work when hitting Emulate. Having difficulty reconnecting my chatbot inside selive. It was able to connect when I added the plugin but now when I reinstalled obs / selive, it doesn't show the connected chatbot on my account and is using the SE bot instead .

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I know YouTube has a significant delay and your subscribers need to have their subscription information publicly available before it can be read by any external services.

It could be that their subscription info isn't public so they aren't showing up

I'm trying to uninstall SE Live to check something but I'm getting stuck at "Checking For Locked Files" for a second, then it closes itself and doesn't uninstall.

Never mind, sorted it, and I've found that SE Live was the source of my Rendering Lag issue lol.

ok I've gotta ask now that I've attempted every other option. Did SE.Live change something in how it approaches media request audio? Around the time the first update for obs28 happened, I started having moments where songs felt significantly quieter than others. ~10dB in either direction. This has always been present because not every upload is equal, but it's gone from a couple a stream to nearly every other track. This is the ONLY factor that has changed. No windows update, no hardware changes, and the only other change I've made software-wise was OBS 28, and that had no notes regarding how audio is actually processed.

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
4. Start SE.Live

Hey All. Has anyone had any issues with SE.Live/OBS not updating chat and stream activity whilst in a game.
Was streaming last night and noticed that my chat dock and my activity feed were not updating whilst the focus was on the game but as soon as i tabbed in to OBS, everything updated.
Also noticed that the animated emotes in my chat were stuttering/stopped when focus was on the game, then when i tabbed back to OBS, the animated emotes would work properly.

Anyone else experienced this or know what might be causing it?

"Start streaming" is not working with Facebook Live, they ask for something like "server info", I've put again the stream key, logout, loggin and stream doesn't start in Facebook. If your custom alert images and sounds aren't showing when you emulate alerts in the overlay editor, check the variations for those alerts. If those aren't changed, they will play the default images and sounds over your custom ones.

If you upgraded to OBS 28 then there are still connectivity issues with the stream deck.

I had this same problem and had to search on YouTube to figure out what was happening.

So the new updated OBS studio 28.0 & OBS studio 28.0.1 aren’t compatible with the stream deck. If you close OBS and just install the previous version OBS 27.2.4 all your settings will be back to what they were and your stream deck will be fine.

No need to reinstall the stream deck.

Make sure to click “skip version” when you launch OBS so it doesn’t put you back at square 1 with OBS 28.0.1

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

4. Go to https://streamelements.com/ and log in.

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

Okay so SE live isn't working for me. I installed it last week and it worked perfectly. I even changed the bot name so allow me to use my emotes. Hello, I wanted to inquire about the internationalisation of the SE.Live plugin? I am using OBS’s UI in french, and, well, most stuff added by SE.Live is in english. This isn’t a critical issue for me as I’m fluent in both, it’s just slightly upsetting that some UI elements are written in a different language than their neighbours just because they were modified by the plugin. I've been using stream elements for my overlays. That's why I really want to use SE.live.
The whole thing runs on a MacBook Air M1

I've installed OBS 27x back in the days. Then configurated stream elements and then I've installed the plugin SE.Live. This gave me a "second OBS". Same logo but "OBS.live"

In the real OBS I NEVER had the option to select streamelements in the menu bar or anywhere else. In OBS.live, on the other hand, I had that. I thought that's the "right" way. Because well... you know it's a Mac 😉

With the new OBS Studio 28, which now also runs natively on Apple Silicon, I noticed, because I wanted to update everything, that SE.live should actually run quite normally like a plugin in OBS Studio. But I can't get it in for better or for worse. I have NO SE.live function in my menu bar or anywhere else.

If I start my OBS.live, I still have version 27 of OBS with the stream elements functions.

What am I doing wrong that Streamelements, SE.live is not reasonably available as a plugin in OBS 28?! Hope someone can help me

If you do have to reinstall you could try exporting your profile but then importing it might also bring back the issue. Have you tried using the Twitch Activity feed dock instead of the SE.Live dock?

I am really interested in using the Force Field Animated Super Theme from StreamElements. However, I want to change it a bit, including the social media icons. I don't see an ability to create my own icon with those effects, or even how to get the same animation if I were to create my own. Hi! Is anyone having a problem with video alerts playing for 1 second then freezing on screen indefinitely? It just happened to me yesterday with the new OBS update. Any help would be appreciated!!

Notifications play fine in SE Dashboard but freeze in obs. Only my follow and bit notifications play fine and don’t freeze. I’ve checked the animation timers and they’re set to 10. Also animation in and out are set to 1. And finally variations of those notifications are also adjusted accordingly. It’s just the ones that I have uploaded videos for, subs and store redemptions, aren’t working and freeze which WERE working perfectly fine the last 6 months without change.

Now, the strange thing is, my CPU usage is never more than 15% because I use a cloud gaming service to play my games, and I never skip any frames, but the quality of the stream is SUPER laggy. Hi, I used SELive with OBS to stream on Twitch and have since I started. I am a very small time streamer, only streaming once a week or so. The past several weeks, my renamed SE bot has been posting all timers/commands/responses etc twice. I also noticed, that I have TWO StreamElements drop-down menus now, and I didn't before. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both OBS and SELive to no avail and can't seem to find anything that refers to this problem online but couldn't find a solution.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

my understanding is that YT is the best place due to how the content creation pipeline works. With YT you funnel people from VOD content and shorts to your live streams, and your live streams automatically become VOD content so it essentially funnels itself to your live streams.

it also allows you to put in less effort with streaming, and gives you time to edit/create offline content which funnels to live streams

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

I don't have the Activity Feed or Chat docks anymore, and I've tried logging out and back in from the StreamElements tab up top.
