When merging this will not make those two accounts have the same donation/tipping link, as each platform will create a unique and different link with each account.

I would have done it all manually but I don't understand why it wouldn't let me and I followed all the steps like entering the account name, the email address and the JWT Token but there was a bug, even when I wanted to remove the link to a social network or resetting the initial overlay always gave me an error.

Hi Jacinto,
So I had a similar problem, wanting one link for tipping and one merch store across multiple platforms.
Basically what I have done is just set these up tipping / merch on the one platform (e.g. Twitch) and then just use those links on my other platforms as well (descriptions etc). There is no reason why someone from YouTube cannot go to your Twitch tipping page and tip there unless you wanted different branding across the platforms.

The only issue (I found) was alerts and there is a way around that (or at least this is how I did it in OBS Studio).
For Twitch I have my main alerts overlay (for follows etc) and a separate shared overlay (for things cross platform like tips and merch). You can then add the shared overlay as a browser source to your scene in OBS so when someone tips, using the one URL - it will pop up as an alert regardless of the platform. Does that make sense? Probably late to the party but hope that kind of helps?

I asked for an update from a support ticket last week. Developers are still working on it and are hoping to have it fixed by End of Quarter - which in business speak will be (I assume) end of March at the latest.

I have been seeing various issues streaming on YouTube the last couple of months - I think in all their "improvements" to the platform they didn't fully consider how people were trying to use the platform - I changed to a brand account after the August change and am now having the login issues as well as issues with StreamDeck sending to chat (something others are reporting since the August 2021 changes as well). It works for 30 mins then just stops.

And the don't announce subs thing, I know YouTube must have a reason behind it but again it isn't going to help draw people to the platform. I wish YouTube had a discord where we could go and moan. I don't think they would read any tweets about it. (Sorry I am moaning here).

Back to the StreamElements login issue, I appreciate why this is taking so long for the developers to fix. Not only is it going to be a big fundamental piece of code to change that could impact various parts of the site, it will need carefully testing, then any bugs fixed, testing again etc. before being scheduled to push to production and even then - there may be an outlying bug that gets missed... So with all the frustration, don't forget to hug a developer today. 🙂

Hi,
i tried to connect streamelements with youtube today. First I tried to connect my existing SE-account which is connected to twitch (I clicked add youtube channel in profile). I tried both my gmail-account and my brand. with my brand account I get error 400, invalid_request. if i try my gmail account, i get the message: something went wrong, please try again later.
After waiting for several hours, I tried again, the error is the same.
I then tried to create a fresh account by connecting it with youtube. if i pick my brand account i get the same error 400 and if I use my gmail account, I just get redirected to the main page without any error.
tried the same on a different computer, same result.

Am I doing something wrong or are there any technical issues at the moment with connecting new youtube accounts?

Due to a new change brought into place by YouTube in August of 2021, there have been issues with brand accounts connecting with our SE.Live software. Our developers are working on a fix to allow this issue to be resolved, however it may take additional time along with some additional changes that will need to be implemented. For the time being, brand accounts will still have issues connecting to StreamElements, and we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

I am afraid changing back to a non brand account does not work - I have tried.
The only way I have got around the login errors personally is to log in via twitch then switch to my YouTube account.
I raised a support ticket (I think last week) asking for an update and was told they hope to fix it by the end of quarter (in business speak that is end of March).
I am finding a few things (not just StreamElements) are no longer working on YouTube as YouTube are "improving" (apparently) their live streaming platform.

The accounts for each channel are separate, and don't share data. However, if they are linked (meaning you can switch between them with the button on the top right) then you can duplicate overlays over between them.

Hello all! How does "show subscriber messages" tick in Alert settings work in the context of youtube livestreams? Correct me if I'm wrong but in youtube you only subscribe using a button as my experience, so no way to send a message just as subscribing.

My goal is to announce only the subscribing action ({name} subscribed)via TTS but not any message content, but seems like announcing action is the optional setting, reading a message ("eg : Howdy, My name is Bill") is the main setting.

Currently there is a known issue with going Live with SE.Live. Devs are aware of the issue, and working on a resolution.
The workaround for this is, to click on the "Live Video Settings" button in the chat dock and use the 2nd option from the pop up "Use these settings" to go live.

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible.

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
2. Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
3. Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
4. When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Even if I clear out the entire wire frame and leave it at just [1] It will still have that large wire frame in the middle at a lower scale.

Okay. Issue/problem with SE pay again. Youtube channel with 100+ subs, can enable Donatepay, but problems with donatepay, it's can't login with youtube right now(Error 500) and they don't know when problm will be fixed. I think that's will be good to add selection of which account of donatepay to connect, independent of your main account on streamelements(for example - you can connect donatepay twitch when your main account on streamelements is Youtube)

The Donatepay login is separate for each channel, just like every other payment option we have - all of those have unique setups for that specific channel. So if you use Donatepay with YouTube through StreamElements, you need to use the YouTube to log in into donatepay.eu

And for login issues on donatepay.eu it is best to contact the donatepay setup - this is on their end and they will be able to assist you with the login.

@near stag i know, but sometimes donatepay have troubles with YouTube login, so it's impossible to connect it to youtube channel. Right now it gives Error 500. That's why selection will be a great thing.

This is highly unlikely on our end since we have a policy that every channel has a separate payment settings.

It can be done in the future, but in the case with Donatepay they would need to implement this option - this is outside of our platform and we have no influence on this at all.

So it is recommended to contact Donatepay with any issues if the issue is present on their platform.

And yes i know the issue, YT has specific limits for pretty much everything. If the service runs into that limit, they can't do much outside of waiting.

So yeah i would recommend waiting and then setting up the automatic withdrawal on Donatepay once you can, so you do get paid regardless of the login issues.

Make sure the bot joined the channel (join channel button in the dashboard) and go live. Sadly on YouTube the bot only shows up in public livestreams so it is not possible to test the bot offline or in a private stream.

Hello there, if possible I would like to do a low latency stream on Youtube (see attached image). Unfortunately trying to start the stream with the StreamElements plugin defaults it to **normal latency **with no option to change it. There is an option called Go Live with Youtube Live Dashboard settings but that causes the program to be stuck on Stream Start Requested andthen OBS freezes and stops responding. Any advice? Hi, today I was testing the alerts on the stream deck but realized whenever I pushed any of them (mute alerts, pause alerts, skip alert, and reload alerts) they did not do anything? You'll want to make sure any livestream is public, live and listed for it to work, and make sure that the resolution for the overlay that has the chat widget is set via Properties at 1920X1080 in OBS.

streamelements only picks up some of the recent events, not all of them
chatbot doesn't work at all..
first thing i did after multiple tries was to delete my streamelements account and make a new one with only the youtube account just in case there were any complications with both twitch and youtube accounts being connected.

Multiple scheduled streams do break our bot - it simply is confused and picks one of those randomly. Try to work with just one scheduled event or none at all (just go live like on Twitch).

Hey guys - I'm needing some help. OBS is crashing when I start a live stream using the 'Go live with youtube dashboard settings' options. It freezes up and I have to end the OBS task to restart the application. It works fine with I use the 2nd option in the screenshot (see attached). Has worked fine for a the last year or so, but it suddenly started happening. OBS support says it's a streamlabs issue. I reinstalled both OBS and SE.live, but the issue persists. I desperately need this to work as I schedule all of my lives treams in advance. Any ideas?

If you tried these steps already, please try them again : Remove the connection on YT and log back into StreamElements itself. Then part and join the bot again and then make sure that the livestream is public and listed. And let me know if this resolves the issue for you.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Currently there is a known issue with going Live with SE.Live. Devs are aware of this issue.
The workaround for this is, to click on the "Live Video Settings" button in the chat dock and use the 2nd option from the pop up "Use these settings" to go live.

hello everyone! I do lives with everything configured on twitch and now I'm having difficulties understanding how I can use my overlays and alerts on youtube. When I log into my account via yt, it certainly doesn't show anything from them. Is there any way to import them? Do I need to register the twitch account as the youtube owner? Follow up - non scheduled stream chat didn’t work either. Stream is set to public. Chat doesn’t even appear in overlay editor in SE.

So. I've been having this problem since I asked for help the first time...
I'm not concerned about showing YouTube subscribers, but when people send superchats and join membership, the alert box and activity box are still showing nothing. I've been ignoring this for a very long time, is there anything I can do or that can be done?
Chat works fine.
Specifically, I had someone join membership 4 days ago, and that shows accurately, but someone joined membership today and it isn't showing up in the activity feed, and more importantly didn't show on the alert box during the stream 😦

With the way YouTube/Google has designed their system, and events that have to come from them can end up delayed or not received. Unfortunately, there's no way to guarantee which events will and will not come through with no issues.
