eyy SE fam! any idea as to why no matter what I do, I can't seem to log into OBS Live with my YT account? I get the message about suspicious activity, then when I try to verify my credentials it says it can't verify me. My account is locked down with 2FA, so I know it legit not suspicious activity lol

it's when the log in screen opens a browser to select which account to use for YT. i can NEVER get past this screen, and I have no idea why. there's also nothing on my google/youtube acccount blocking access from SE

When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Hi, I was having a mooch at overlays for Youtube as im considering streaming there sometime - I couldn't get the an overlay with the stream chat working. On the overlay widget there is an option to add the Youtube live chat - but nothing shows up. I had a second account in there trying to talk and it shows them chatting but nothing on SE overlay - I even did an unlisted stream from the account to see if thats what caused it, but nothing. Is the overlay widget broken? - Alerts seemed to work fine. Thanks

I was streaming on youtube last night and nothing seemed to work. It didn't alert that I had new subscribers or anything. It doesn't even show in my activity feed at all. I'm not sure what's going on. It's like it's not registering that it's connected to my channel.

Same thing as @maiden lion but my situation is a bit different. See i have a 2 pc stream set-up, with VM Potato and i can hear the alerts while emulating it off-stream but on-stream i cant hear any of my custom alerts. Any help or suggestions on it would be appreciated! SEheart

from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

there is no way to do that outside of overlays which can be done after linking both accounts or adding one as a editor.
you need to meet certain requirements and if it's either of the accounts you have linked in discord then you've got a bit to go.

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

The streaming setting, such as bitrate and general OBS settings will not be changed, based on what you choose on the starting stream pop up window.

That window only helps you setup the title and game and such for the stream

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

If you are using SE Overlays, those are all browser sources so uninstalling the program won't delete those. If they aren't in your scenes, you'll be able to add them back from the online editor

The actual username cannot be changed, but that isn't visible to anyone else anyway. The alias (the name that's used for URLs etc.) can be changed.

Follow up, I can get it to work on any yt channel but not the one linked to my twitch channel on se (I have 3 yt accounts so I tried it on the others)

I believe the error comes from them being linked. Could a member of staff help me unlink them into 2 seperate SE accounts? (I only linked them so I could copy all my overlays over to the yt channel

The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080. Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary. You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like https://i.imgur.com/6bWXxjR.png

I just confirmed via the log that you have an issue that we have yet to find a solution for unfortunately. The only workaround rightn ow is to uninstall OBS.Live and use OBS Studio as is

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

Youtube doesn't send us name change events, so the accounts don't get renamed. In order to rename an alias/profile/tipping link, you will have to email us here: support@streamelements.com with current account name, account ID and desired name.

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

because while I was trying to figure out why it wouldn't work... I had yt SE account and twitch SE account. Once I added yt to SE account that already had twitch... start streaming didn't work

Is OBS.Live supposed to show YT chat and activities? Because after connecting to YT and streaming. All I see is the Twitch info. Typing in chat also posted to twitch even though I’m streaming to YT. I looked at the OBS.live website and didn’t see YT chat supported but I saw a screenshot above that would suggest it works.

Twitch was main account. Added YouTube and did not allow me to stream to YouTube. Went to main account and security to close with youtube jwt token which closed both accounts. Created YouTube account and created separate twitch account which allowed me to stream to either service from OBS. Closed new twitch account then added twitch to YouTube account and now I can stream to either in OBS

so, create SE Youtube account then add twitch channel to that and you can use as intended. If your primary SE is twitch and you add youtube channel you will encounter 'known but no solution' and not be able to stream to youtube. the process of switching will delete all your overlays from both. super lame bro.

Yes, thank you, I came here for just this reason. Feedback - the contact form is a bit short. It's basically just got room to input the tokens and that's it, with only a brief, somewhat rude-sounding explanation about what's going on. I just accidentally created a new account trying to connect my YouTube, and I just wanted to let you know you might as well delete the new account once the token is moved, because all I've done with it is accidentally create it with the YouTube link, so it's never going to get used. Kill two birds with one stone. I love StreamElements and I would like to use it for my YouTube channel and get some stuff going there in addition to Twitch, where it has served me well. 🙂 Thanks for making this thing, btw ❤️ anirainbowblob

hey, uh... I'm new here @halcyon cloud @idle dune. Not trying to be rude... just expect you to scroll up and read yesterday's conversation about the issue. I just had to delete all my overlays so that no one else hopefully doesn't have to... so chill for now maybe? There is no real solution or guide on how to do this properly or fix. Support already said it was a known issue with no solution. So for now, if you have twitch and add youtube, you're screwed. If you have youtube and add twitch, you'll be fine. Otherwise you have to close accounts and lose all overlays. I added notes when deleting accounts so hopefully they get that and fix it soon.

You sound a bit hot under the collar, though... well, if I have to recreate my overlays anyway, I guess I'll just keep both accounts, but I'm sure they'll tell me that in my tech request... weirdly, I used the same email for both - is there not a way that it can block you from using the same email to create a new account in the first place? Most other platforms have that as a matter of course...I'm sorry I didn't read further up, but when you join a big server like this, it's rarely in your interest to pay attention to all the backchat, and it seemed like the answer I wanted was ready-to-hand. And if not, and they go ahead and delete the Twitch-based account instead - well, it's a pain, but it won't be the first time I've had to do that, since I ran into something similar when I installed on a new computer. So I'm good 🙂

Yes, you can. First of all, make sure to add the YouTube channel to your Twitch from the channel settings page, so that they are linked.
Second, you'll be able to duplicate overlays between channels from your My Overlays screen.

Ok, great. If you have them linked we're set to go. When you're home, log into the Twitch channel, go to My Overlays, click the little menu button for the overlay you want to copy, and choose to duplicate it. You'll see a menu giving you the option to copy it over to the other channel.

I did a five hour stream on YouTube today and SE bot timers didn’t show up or and it didn’t respond to any commands.

Stream was public
Stream was live
Added StreamElements as mod yesterday
Was viewing “Live Chat” the entire time

I don’t understand what else I need to accomplish to get SE to work.

PS. I have a merged Twitch and YouTube account. I had them separate (due to a premature YT authentication), however, I deleted the YT account (JWT) so I could add YT to my Twitch SE account.

Hi. Goals can only be reset manually. You might want to use a session widget for the followers - that one is displaying follower amounts per session and that resets after each stream.

Thanks Kei, I was able to get that part done already. And it’s good to go.

But my issue with the latest sub and sub goal not updating with my YT channel is still occurring (Ex, OBS SE shows 68 while YT shows 69). Testing the alerts is fine and works, and the privacy sub is also turned off.

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Hey everyone, I am unable to see any of my youtube revenue, the subscribers and members stats are wrong, mostly at 0. Streamlabels (streamlabs) still picks up all my superchats and so forth but stream elements does not. i have used one of ur competitors and got my donations page shutdown while playing games and coding some software, but they wont disclose really why my account was closed so i would like to switch to a service that wont just shut me down, and i would like to make sure beforehand if my content matters

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

@main vector i think the issue is on both accounts there are two different sites tied to them, and one of them is inactive. As one had my Youtube and Mixer account before the mixer shutdown. And i had accidently made a second account for Twitch and Facebook.

Hi, my subcriber alerts aren’t working and alerts aren’t visible in the OBS.Live box. I’ve checked and now have “keep my subscriptions private” unchecked (it was checked before). Is there something else I should check before my next stream tomorrow?

Oh well... It looks like a lot of ppl is reporting this. They try to solve it by telling us to login to the correct yt channel. But when we show that it doesn't work the solution is to uninstall the live plugin

The live plugin overrides core settings of obs, and when theres an issue with the plugin, like in this case, you cant stream.

So you can either use standard obs and yt dashboard to stream, or keep the plugin and wait for a fix

To set up the bot for your YouTube stream, please follow these steps:

Make sure your stream is public. The bot cannot join a private/unlisted stream.
Your stream must be live for the bot to join the chat.
Go to https://studio.youtube.com/, click on Settings > Community and add https://youtube.com/c/streamelements or https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjerlCIbLPQwSnYlClkjDXg as a Moderator.
When live, be sure to look at Live chat instead of Top chat, as Top chat will hide the bot messages.

I recently started streaming on Youtube. I signed into Stream Elements with my Google account I use for streaming. Setup alerts overlay, enabled tipping, all good. Issue is when ever someone subscribes I get no alert and not history ever in the dashboard. I understand there is a delay up to 4 hours but I am not seeing anything that happened a few days ago. Is there an additional setting or permission I need to grant stream elements to be able to retrieve that data? I gave it all the permissions it asked for when I first logged into the Google account.

Hello, so I have set up everything for youtube stream, but whenever I press start stream, the button changes to "stream start request" button and a blank streamelements window pops out without anything on it. The only way to start youtube stream for me was to log out of streamelements, start stream and log back in, but then the chat window was lagging like crazy. Is there any way to start my stream with streamelements?

Currently there is a known issue with going Live with SE.Live. Devs are aware of the issue.
The workaround for this is, to click on the "Live Video Settings" button in the chat dock and use the 2nd option from the pop up "Use these settings" to go live.

Ah this issue. Unfortunately, devs are aware of this, but we have yet to find a fix or a workaround.
The only thing that we know for sure is, that this goes away on its own

The screenshot shows that the stream is not live.
Chat on YouTube is working only with a public livestream. So please start the stream from the "Live Video Settings" page and test it.

Possibly able to use both - not necessarily at same time but depending what platform I choose to to stream to? I cannot seem to find a tutorial on YT and the older videos I have seen are so dated that the GUI looks much different than what I "think" I am looking for

Is there a way to fix my SE tipping link for YT? It feels sloppy if my tipping link has numbers that arent included in my username. note: this only occurred after setting up yt-se integration. tipping link on twitch is normal
