hello, i just downloaded obs.live! I used the regular obs before. When I installed the file it only asked if I wanted to sign in on my twitch. But I only stream on youtube. Hopefully this is the right place to do this. I'm relatively new to making YT vids, and have always just recorded/streamed from my phone and didn't do anything fancy. Then I got OBS studio to try to have a more professional appearance. One of the things I was trying to do was put a transparent YT live chat box in my scenes, and I ended up downloading streamelements. The problem is, I'm not really sure exactly what streamelements is. From what I gather, it's for a twitch, and I can only "log in with twitch" inside of my OBS studio/streamelement.live. I'm just curious as to if anybody would be willing to chat here or in a private chat and kinda tell me about this and what it could do for me. I dont have twitch, nor do I know what it really is outside of it being a game streaming platform, and really just curious as to what streamelements could help me with since I'm only a OBS on PC straight to YT live/uploaded videos type of channel. OBS.Live has features for Twitch mostly (twitch chat), but your overlays for youtube should work like a charm from there. Try to take a look at our Themes and Overlay editor to adjust everything to your needs. dang. I need to look more into this. This is definitely all foreign to me lol. When I watch the video tutorial, they are adding the link as a card for the YT live video. I'm checking out overlays right now, and they all appear to be super themes for gaming. I make vids of myself talking about a certain subject. So apparantly I need to learn about overlays and how to use them. Everything I'm doing is from the streamelements website because streamelements within obs wants me to sign in with twitch. I'm just trying to make sense out of it all.

No worries, small steps and you will get that perfectly fitting your stream. You can just create empty overlay and just add alertbox from for a start. It has also other YT features like superchat or new subscriber. Start small grow big ;)

I think I understand it. So at the website, I create an overlay that contains the alerts. Then, when I click stream now within OBS, it'll automatically apply that overlay to my video? Or I physically put the overlay into my OBS. I think the whole sign in with twitch or continue without logging in thing is throwing my off. Just understanding what the process is would be better. Like, I login to the streamelements website, and that's synced with my YT, so when I hit stream now, it's going from my PC/OBS, automatically to SE, which is instantaneously streaming it to YT, which is connected to my paypal, subs, etc, and will produce that display if/when it happens?

The SE Bot can't give out a custom message with the reason the person got timeouted. The bot just times out the user and sends a mod message with a preset reason. The user was used to be able to see this moderating reason, but twitch changed something, so the user can't see the reason any more.

Alright so this is from a follow up question I had from a week or so ago. I've had balance in my SE pay for over 3 weeks, and I have not been able to transfer it to my bank. Maybe 2 weeks or so ago, I WAS able to withdraw the money, but I about 3-5 days later, the status went from being transferred BACK to "Your bank details are being verified. This process takes up to 7 business days." The money has just been sitting in my SE pay balance for 3 weeks. Please let me know if I can transfer the money soon. Thanks.

G2A is a payment aggregator, which means people use certain payment methods to pay into your G2A Wallet, which you then use to transfer the funds to another wallet (Like your own paytm account). This is not a direct connection to paytm, but an indirect route to generate the alerts
As for changing currency, go to your Tipping Settings on the dashboard, then go to the Tipping Settings tab on that page, expand Page Settings, and change the Currency dropdown to your desired currency

You could make a video that you'd want to play as intro and add it to a scene in OBS with the option to reload the video every time you reloaded the scene.
That way when you hit live you'd just switch to the scene and let the video play
When you switch you can stream and next time you can just switch to the intro scene again and the video starts from the beginning

first it took like 5 minutes to appear and then alerts dosent show up, but the audio of the alerts sounds

overlays will be downloaded when you switch scenes if you have these options enabled(pic below), so that is dependant on your internet, if it takes 5 minutes you have a big problem. as for the alerts not showing, please could you tell me which video and at what time the alert went off so i can have a look

the bot most likely doesn't see the currently running one.
How to fix this is...i assume ending the streaming, waiting 10-15 minutes for the session to clear out and then starting just 1 stream.

StreamElements is a passthrough service. It will collect the information, forward to PayPal, and patiently wait for a response. If there's no response, nothing goes into your account. Usually that's because PayPal held the tip for verification.

once you have "joined" the bot to your channel on the se dashboard, and made it a moderator on yt then you wont have to do anything else. when you go live, as void said, the bot will join your stream

so i use the ps4 streaming service to stream straight to youtube.is there anyway i can get the overlays to work with that?

@junior pewter If you also have a PC and can connect it to your PS4 with say a capture card, then you can stream your PS4 games from the PC with the addition of overlays, otherwise no seeing as the PS4 doesn't have native support for browser sources

Hey guys, just switched from Twitch to Youtube streaming and have a questin about updating my activity feed... I have activated my youtube channel in my SElements acc, but in OBS I only see activity feed from twitch.. any help? Thank you ๐

When you are using OBS.Live there is no log in with youtube atm.

ah.... my bad then. when I saw the activity feed menu I thought that it'll refresh with YouTube after connection
So any ideas where to see smting like activity feed? ๐

ok... so best option is to have event list widget in overlay and take info from there I guess

I am not 100% sure, but I think you can use our tool ground control, to see the activity feed.
or use the pop out activity feed from the website.

Ground control is the same as Activity feed window in OBS so I can't see youtube feed.
And wont use browser window bcs of HW load :). I think event list is my best option ๐

Hey SE! I'm having problems with my overlay not updating correctly. Whenever I want to change the layout of the animation, I want the animation on top and the text on the bottom, I hit save, and test the follow alert and it doesn't change it. However the other notifications do change for me whenever I change the layout / font
like host/sub/cheer etc. they all update correctly. just not the follow one

there is no follow system on youtube. also cheer (and i think host) is for twitch
are you streaming to twitch or using a twitch overlay?

Click on "Tipping settings" and there you can setup your tipping page and paypal/g2a pay account.

The issue has been fixed by the devs - logout of the dashboard and log back so that you can get the fix.

@lime walrus What I was saying is if you go to your overlays and click edit overlay then "Emulate Tip" you will hear a ding like it notifies the streamer he has a notification coming. Sometimes I wont hear the ding how do I make it where im able to hear it evertime
