Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

  • Merging accounts only allow faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: https://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Use the Twitch Bandwidth Test to find the best Twitch server to stream to. Set Duration to Medium. You can uncheck any regions you're not near.

After the test completes, click the Share Result button to upload a screenshot, which can then be copied and pasted here.

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
  2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
  3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
  4. Start SE.Live
  5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hiya, ive been having this issue that whenever i try to stream certain games my OBS will completely crash and throw up a tab saying "There has been an issue with the Encoder" and gave me no way of troubleshooting or solving the issue. i have tried both the hardware and software encoders on OBS itself and tried lowering my quality to see if it was that. sadly it wasnt. the games i cant stream are: Apex, Overwatch, siege, phasmo.

Is there a way to change a Default Stream Elements Chatbot Command? Theres a specific command: !ticket that I'd like to change it's imput. Whenever someone tries to enter the giveaway more than once (Because I limited the tickets to only one per person), it gives an ambiguous message to the viewer and I always have to explain that everything is fine and he's already in.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

Hello, I have an issue with the latest Raid sponsorship on S.E. I did the whole setup on monday July 11th and was about to start the campaign on Wednesday 13th, with 10 whole days to spare ("you must start the campaign by the 23rd of July"). And suddenly S.E. shows me only that the invite has expired and basically I got to the page by an S.E. email.

Well let´s just say I got 4 new players on the personalized link and over 1 hour of streaming Raid and nothing has been counted because the campaign looks expired/dead.

What do I do? I kind of haven´t found resolution to this and I obviously will not continue streaming Raid while this is an issue. I thought I had calculated everything correctly and planned my streams accordingly.

I don't really know how Xbox/PS stream to twitch/wherever, I assume they just take your game frames and lob them over to your provider, so assuming thats the case then no you cant use SE.

You NEED (could be wrong) something that can consume browser sources, as thats all that SE is really just an overlay browser source you pull in which acts as a layer in your video streaming app (most people use OBS/SL OBS)

So, for streaming Xbox on Twitch, there's 2 options.

The first is to stream directly from the Xbox, which won't let you use StreamElements for overlays, but you can still set up the bot to work in your channel for commands, timers, and moderating chat.

The other option is to use a capture card to connect your Xbox to a computer and use OBS to stream it to Twitch, which will not only allow you to use the StreamElements chatbot, but also allow you to use StreamElements for creating overlays for your streams.

Then you can't use OBS to stream your Xbox unfortunately. There are some services that let you use overlays while streaming from console, but StreamElements isn't one of them. You'd need to use something like Lightstream

Not sure if this is the right chat to ask this, but I'm trying to set up the charity DonorDrive alertbox and it's not working so I'd love some help.

I've linked DonorDrive in the integrations section and double checked my participant ID, set up the overlay and put it as a browser source into OBS (with it being set to trigger with 0 as the minimum amount). When I run the emulation in the streamelements overlays menu it works fine, but actual donations aren't proccing it.

there is SO MUCH going on in this one overlay. It would be best to make a second alert box and overlay for the sub and donation variants as there are copious amounts. Create a new overlay, then load the current overlay, Click the alertbox layer, then duplicate it to the new overlay. Be sure to disable the Sub and Tip alerts in the original alertbox and disable all the other alerts in the new alertbox

Hello! I'm trying to display a StreamElements chat over to OBS, but the browser source only shows up as the red selected border. It shows up in its own pasted URL page and in the S.E preview, though I'm connected to StreamElements and OBS with my Twitch, which seems to be the usual solution across the internet, but I can't seem to get my chat to show up.

CPU is not going over 80% now, but the video is still choppy even in OBS itself, before I installed the plugin my video was very smooth. Maybe my PC cannot handle this plugin I don't know 😦

It says my GPU is maxed out, so OBS cannot render scenes fast enough, but I did not have this issue prior to installing the plugin. I can show you the difference between the streams. I'm running RTX3070 so I believe it should not be struggling and it was not struggling before the plugin, so something went wrong, but I cannot find out what it is, thanks for the help though I will try and uninstall the plugin and see if that'll help.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I'm trying to disconnect StreamElements chat bot from my Streamlabs OBS because the default commands frequently don't work and I don't know how to fix that/not worth the headache. I'm going to switch to NightBot for my chat mgmt, but here's my issue: I un-modded StreamElements in my chat and got a success message that it is no longer a mod. However when I test it out I'm still showing command messages from StreamElements, any idea why this might be happening? Alternatively if anyone knows how to fix the default commands issue I'm willing to give it another chance.

my activity feed in obs just says network error and clicking connect with twitch reloads it and doesn't change anything. Tried logging out and back in and nothing happens it tells me to log in. If I restart obs i come back logged in with the activity feed still not working but it now also opens twitch in the browser?

Noticing something odd, so I have a stream perk which is flagged as to notify in chat when used.

If they use the same one within a few seconds of each other it doesnt bother to show up in chat that its been redeemed, however I have some custom code which monitors chat for the redemption blurb to do something

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible as shown in this GIF: https://imgur.com/a/2JhJD0S

  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I failed to specify that I had a custom overlay made on the website Fiverr so I'm not doing this through stream elements (or if I can, I don't know how). Hey guys i got a problem, so..
im using Steamelements Live add on in obs.. i`ve created my own overlay in and got the browser soruce into obs, like usual. as always...
but since i got my new overlay/alerts my obs is going to normal use 30% ofc my cpu and if like an alerts pops up its goes to like 99% for a few seconds.. my specs are ryzen5 ( 6x3.8ghz ) and 16gb ram. ( i only got that problem since i got the new overlay.. it worked out well before as i used an pre-created overlay from elements...) somebody able to may help me ? ( or am i in the wrong channel ) ?

Both overlays are getting the alert for gifted subs, so you would have to set the gifted sub alert for one to not go off/show anything when triggered

Hey guys im back again ! -> I re installed obs clean and deleted all other stuff like add ons and anything.
ive created a simple scene with 2 Browser sources (1x Alerts / 1x Overlay ) and 1x Gamecapture ( no cam, no other stuff. clean and simple.. )
Problem is, when i do nothing(in obs) my CPU usage is on like 20-30% ( since i got a new overlay+Alerts ) but if i get a alerts active the cpu usage is going to 99% but idk why. i could upload a log if you want to. Maybee somebody is able to help. im even open minded for voice chat / discord screeshare to show you especially right.
so its gotta do something with the browser source right ?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, me again! I’m wondering if there is a way I can bundle gifted sub alerts together? We’ve had a few instances where I’ve received a large amount of gifted subs and the alerts will play for like 10 minutes straight. I’m just worried if this starts happening more often it’ll be disruptive to people viewing the stream so I wanna try bundle them together if possible?
