If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I've gone back and re connected my obs to twitch and streamelements, cleared the browser cache and fiddled with the alerts some more, the audio is still playing but still no visuals to go with it. It was working fine earlier today but since I changed a few things around it no longer works. All alerts showed up before now none do

I am currently using TwitchPopups (browser source) to pop up particular alerts during certain games. I was wondering if there’s a way that SE commands can trigger another command? The command for TwitchPopups is !alert and I would like to have the commands I have on SE also trigger !alert ![commandname]

You can add, remove and make changes to custom commands in chat with !command/!cmd flags:

!command add (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to add a new custom command
!command remove (commandname) - allows you to delete a custom command
!command edit (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to edit an existing custom command
!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used
!command options (commandname) -(flag) - allows you to change settings for an existing custom command

For example, if someone subs the alert goes off like normal and then regardless of how much time passes, when i switch scenes it goes off again for the same person. Did you get a "Channel already claimed" message?

More than likely your accounts need to be merged! - Please note:

  • Merging accounts only allow faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and fill out the form here: https://streamelements.com/contact with each token correctly labelled

It seems a relatively recent SE update (In the last 2 months or so) made it so the alerts will repeat themselves if you switch in-between scenes within OBS. It wasn't like that before, and it worked fine for almost 12 months. Nothing was changed in the layout menu, AFAIK. Anyway to resolve it beside muting alerts until the queue is cleared?

Exemple: Streamer is in scene A. There's a few alert for bits and subs and it shows on the scene. Streamer switch to scene B, and the same queue of alerts will play again.

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
  2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
  3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
  4. Start SE.Live
  5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect

Hello! I just moved to streamelements for my twitch overlay since player.me collapsed. I stream directly from PS5 via lightstream. I set up my overlay with alerts and in the test mode it works great. WHen I got live on twitch the images on the overlay show fine but the alerts don't work at all. What am i doing wrong? :)

Has there been an update with the alternative bot accounts? I am facing an issue that my bot account is not being used when my OBS is closed. but as soon as I open OBS my bot account is being used. I have a subscription to my channel with my bot account but not the SE account. When was this changed and is this intended or a bug? I added a really cool transition that I wanted to use when I swapped from full screen cam to game...but I guess the hook to the game is too slow. Like takes multiple seconds to turn from a black screen to the game. Any workaround?

Hello! I have a pretty specific situation/issue that I'm encountering right now - I can't get text to speech to work/can't get the text to speech audio to show up on my OBS. It works 100% fine through the overlay preview in the streamelements website (all settings are good, sounds like it should work), but then when trying it in my actual OBS app/what gets output through stream, it just isn't there anymore. Is there any fix for this? (I also have custom css enabled for my overlay, not sure if there's any part of it that would compete w the usual TTS settings but that's my only guess)

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

I can't seem to update my public settings on my profile page. Whenever I try to change a link and save it, the page says " There was an error updating your settings! " and reverts the changes. I was working on some custom commands, and suddenly the bot prefixes the command with tagging the user, when that isn't part of the command. How do I fix this?

Hello, I am attempting to make a command that will output a random number from 1 to the number inputted by a user. How do I pull the inputted number from a chat input.
Example would be something like the user inputs !roller 9 and it will output a number from 1-9 but if they input 123 it will be from 1-123

The only issues I faced was the occasional frame drops on games when I was opening my Opera GX, and my OBS having Encoding Overload issues. The tool itself installed quite nicely I had some synchronisation issues but they were relatively easily sorted out and he helped me get everything setup up it looks pretty easy to use from somebody with fresh eyes on it.

I have decided to start off fresh with a new overlay from you guys and everything so I'm going to fight that battle tomorrow

I'm experiencing an issue I changed my name a little while ago from GODFaraz to FarazMA then back to GODFaraz.
When I look up chat stats from someones channel for example it has farazma in it and godfaraz i think streamelements sees it as 2 seperate channels i was wondering if i could transfer all my stats to my new name (GODFaraz) also if my chat stats could get updated too

Hello! So I've been trying to find a solution issues regarding frame drops on games and buffering from OBS. I've heard that with my build that I should be dealing with very little lag/buffering while streaming but I am still suffering from those. Lower than 80 Frames on a majority games that I play on low settings, if I have discord open my buffering/lag increases more, if I have an editing program out like Vegas Pro/Photoshop it crashes.
I thought I solved my issue but everything seemed to go back to what it was.
My main goal is to improve stability and remove all the issues I have with my current PC build while streaming. Is there anywho can help improve performance on my current PC.

Hey everyone. Been having some trouble for a few weeks now with my overlays lagging like crazy when playing specifically RDR2. I have a 3070 and encode with nvenc new and have a ryzen 3900x cpu where utilization while gaming rarely goes over 4%... can anyone tell me why my overlays bug out? They run so slow and skip frames while the game and my cam both run perfectly with very few render lag otherwise. It's all just my overlays. If I use my elgato capture card to game instead I get zero lag issues. Not sure what's going on here and would appreciate any help. If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

No they run flawlessly basically when I do anything else that isn’t this game. I’ve definitely concluded something is stressing it out but I’m just struggling to grasp why a 3070 and a 3900x are having these issues with SE when I never had them with SLOBS 😩 I will not go back to them but I’d love to fix the problem.

The game runs at 80 fps average at 1440p no problem. CPU chills at 3-4% when live while I encode with NVENC new which I’m aware is GPU but on a dedicated chip so I figured the CPU would handle the rest of the functionality since obs does use it.

Hey there I have a problem with my Overlays. I set up an overlay to show on screen deaths by creating a fresh overlay and using labels -> other -> bot counter. I set the the labels message to '{countername}'. I saved the overlay and added it as a source in OBS. It shows up and In chat it does count the deaths but on screen the number stays at 0. What have i missed?

Hiya! Weird question for y'all. I worked for ages to move my alerts from SLOBS to SE yesterday. My alerts utilize a webm format video with audio (a little magical sound?). Yesterday, someone triggered the alert to go off (it was the first day I'd transitioned). Alert went off fine, but then the magical alert sound continued to repeat.. over and over... for literally 15 minutes. I tried to troubleshoot on stream. I have an virtual audio capture device and it was registering the sound as coming through OBS. I tried hiding the audio on stream/turning monitoring off/refreshing the alert boxes/toggling their activity to turn off when not active (which I did do while I was live and after it had started? I am not sure if that has any bearing on it)/hiding the alert boxes/running the audio seperately and muting it... nothing worked. eventually, I just had to end my stream and go into every alert and fully mute them in StreamElements....

Help. What is going wrong? I need to be able to have audio on my alerts. I can clip my stream yesterday when I pulled up my OBS to show them what I was seeing/hearing (at that point id muted it for them)..

Hello and thank you for your time 🙂 My !songrequest chat command keeps turning itself off when I try to turn it on. When I turn it on, I'm prompted to "Enable both?", I click "Enable", click "Save", then !songrequest is turned back off.

But I checked it midway through the nonstop alerts, refreshed both of the alert boxes (there are two different ones on two different screens, I did everything twice, for both). Eventually I just turned the stream off and restarted. It only replayed the specific alert sound associated to the webm alert, as another alert was triggered but did not play

In my OBS, I am using a virtual cable to split my audio. I have a audio source set as obs which registers the sounds coming through OBS specifically and it was within this source that the audio was registering as the alert repeated. When I muted the source, the alert still played. When I turned monitor and output of the source off, I could still hear the alert being played.

It's possible that since you were using a virtual cable and monitor+output you ended up with an audio loop.

Not sure. Alerts have a maximum duration and they will (should?) cut off after that, even if the alert isn't finished.

My Stream Elements App won't let me stream on anything but my Youtube account and I can't change it, despite uninstalling logging in and out of my stream elements on site adding Twitch to my Youtube account. How do I stream on Twitch on the Stream Elements/OBS live app?

Doesn't work, it says my Twitch account is connected to the Stream Elements App but once I click the Start Streaming button in controls it opens a window titled "Start Streaming to YouTube" with basic information for starting a youtube stream inside.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Please refrain from creating multiple tickets as it simply clogs the queue for other further down.

Is it impossible to resize the alert widgetbox where both the text and the gif are showing but are smaller? I'm trying to do that in Streamelement's overlay but it just starts hiding text or gif. And I obviously can't do it in OBS. Also the alert box I am importing from Streamlabs so maybe that's the problem?

Hey guys, I added some Goals (Followers, Subs) in my Stream, but I don't want them to appear all the time. I want the Goals to show as Slides time by time and when they get complete, just stop to appear. These Widgets have some animation, so it would be amazing if it could be shown when we hit the Goal.
