So I'm trying to use the SE bot for commands, gamble and raffle etc. For some reason everything works if I just go to my twitch page and type commands in the twitch chat, but as soon as I launch OBS it stops working. The commands don't work in OBS chat or on Twitch chat but as soon as I close down OBS everything works again. The bot says its in my channel but the only time it doesn't work is when OBS is running.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

The first question is how to implement an error message for wrong syntax

For example: I want to implement a command that takes a number as the first input and then the name of one viewer as the second input

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Not sure this is the right place to be posting, but the SE website says to come to the Discord if interested in getting the Custom Bot Name option in Ground Control.

you don't need to join discord for that.

For custom bot name you can do that from ground control / alert box which will be activated once you added the stream elements on your OBS.

From there you can go to settings and and change the bot name to your channel name, if you need to rename it to something else then you have to create a dummy account and assign that account name as your bot's name.

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)

4. Start SE.Live

Twitch's API has recently updated so your key may be different. I would suggest you try using OBS's Twitch Integration so it will automatically grab your stream token for your twitch account

That way you dont have to input the stream key yourself 🙂

You could try resetting the connection via your twitch account
On your twitch go settings->connection and disconnect "OBS Studio" it should be listed under the "Other Connections" in the connections page

Once you done that disconnect and reconnect from OBS Studio and see if that works

If so for a mod to see and approve something in the queue they will need dashboard access

You can do so by generating a invite link
Go to your dashboard -> profile pic -> Channel Settings -> Select "Bot Supervisor" under "My Mangers" -> Generate Invite Link and send it to your mods

Hi - I recently changed my username from SMZeldaRules to ZeldaMOMOe and my chat commands aren't working. Can I get someone to help?

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

Heyo. So I have a headscratcher. Out of the blue the chat bot stopped working today. Like just poof gone. My mod went to shout somebody out and the bot just wasn't responding. We could see it in chat and looking at my dashboard I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was going on so if anyone is able to shed some light on this or at least point me in the right direction for troubleshooting that'd be much appreciated.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Is it possible to get help here? My stream is basically ruined tonight and I can't figure out why it won't work.

Internet is 150/10mb. For some reason I'm dropping 60% frames even when bitrate is only 2500 and 720. I usually stream 5000 bitrate at 1080 with no issues. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I started stream about 10 times and dropped 60% frames right away.

This data is showing up in the SE Leaderboard Widget According to a YouTube video, there is a way to filter usernames in the widget but I am not seeing it. The goal widgets are pretty primitive and can be set to a deadline but they count over the deadline and you need to manually reset them.

I suggest a workaround - to use the timed widgets and set them to "monthly" and make them look like a goal (add /"number" to the text field) - they do reset automatically and on time that you set

We have now switched from the Streamlabs chatbot to the Streamelements bot with a focus on the currency system.

Yesterday we tried to load the currency.csv via the import page - but without success. An error was displayed.
When we tried to load the file via CSV import it worked.

But now the following problem arises -> The Streamlabs chatbot stores the watchtime in the CSV in hours - but the CSV import interprets the watchtime as minutes.

Any ideas how to fix this now?

Hosts and raids are something strange (in my opinion). When a raid occurs, both host and raid are sent at the same time (and host is triggered first most of them). Is in your case the host being triggered twice?

Hello! I am trying to figure out if it is possible to make StreamElements pick one answer randomly out of a source outside of the actual command. To be specific: I want to make a command !pun, that picks puns randomly out of a list. As of now I have the command set up like this: !pun : Check this out: ${random.pick 'pun1' 'pun2' 'pun3'}. The amount of puns is very limited due to the character limit of 500. That's why I thought of letting StreamElements get the puns from an external file or something similar. Is this possible?

I have found an unsatisfying workaround for this by defining several pun commands, like pun1! pun2! ... each of them containing a set collection of puns but I dont want to do that, since it kills the simplicity

We have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

My first actions in this situation are to ensure that the URL is correct in your broadcasting software for your alert box. Next, navigate to the source, open properties and then scroll down and "refresh cache of current page". Hope this helps!

Also, hosts are only working for 2 or more viewers due to new limitations in the Twitch API. No bot/service will auto alert now for 1 and 0 viewer hosts. Are you using OBS or SLOBS?

How do I test the Extra-Life donation command in chat?

Let me Explain. I had a Extra-Life donation happen yesterday. The Donation bar worked. The Extra-Life Notification showed on screen.

There was no message in chat saying (Name) donated (Amount) to Children's Miracle Network.

Just want to make sure I am not missing a setting or turned off a bot command. Thanks to anyone who replies.

You cannot remove the watchtime, but you can reset the points for everyone.
Go to Loyalty > Leaderboard and click on RESET button. This action cannot be undone, all viewer points will be reset and back to 0.

I’ve tested bitrates between 1500-5000. I’ve also tried 1080-60, 1080-30, 720-30, and 540-30. The percentage of dropped frames stays consistent no matter what. Also performed clean install of OBS/SE

I usually stream at a bitrate of 5000 and at 1080-60. After I updated the program is when everything stopped working.

If you are not seeing the OBS Twitch integrations and have SE.Live installed, please follow these steps:

1. Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of SE.Live
2. Exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
3. Delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
4. Start SE.Live
5. Settings > Stream > Disconnect > Connect
