Hello there! I have been having a problem with my chat bot. I have it set up to link my discord and fb group every 30 mins but it has not been working. If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Looks like you have the timers set for 45 min and that there has to be at least a certain amount of chats before the timer will activate. If the limit isn't hit the timer won't activate, and the command won't go off. you can try adjusting those settings under the timer option.

I find it so difficult to separate the store redemption. If I type a certain command like !apple it shows the apple but a banana also shows up on the same command … even tho I have it on a different layer. I’ve tried to search the internet for answers but I didn’t see anything

try a relog from SE.Live/OBS and see if that helps clear up the connection. Keep in mind that it can take a bit for some of twitch's API to update and show in your activity feed

Hai, so I could really use some help, I'm so out of my depth, I'm looking for a discord bot that can take information from a twitchbot, more specifically, the amount of watchtime a viewer has and then depending on the amount it will assign the person a better role in the server. But It feels as it either hasn't been created yet or I'm not looking in the right places. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hey! So I got some weird bug going on. running stream elements through OBS. last night it decided to just no longer displace any game captures I have. even after I created a new source and deleted the old one. hi! im hoping this is the right spot to post this if not i'll move it. so im messing around with some of the variables for custom commands. i wanted to do a random pick for my "lurk" command so it randomly picks a phrase. i copied the variable code from the SE page and pasted it and added my own messages. at first it gave me this error "Parsing error at position 138: Mismatched quotation mark". So i played around and found using " instead of ' removes the error and will display the proper message but now no matter how many times i enter my command it only ever shows the first listed option. is there a way to fix it or is it just bad luck and repeating the same message? (ive tried the command at least 10 times and its always the same message even though i have 2 listed.)

Is there a way to make a chat command trigger both emotes and a sound redeem? Right now I have tried the command set up as ${redeem sound} emote emote emote, and tried it as emote emote emote ${redeem sound}. Either way, the sound takes over the entire command and nothing shows up in chat. Is there a way to allow both on the same command? I already tried a separate command using the first command as an alias/keyword. Thank you!

My good friend and also streamer has the same issue. chatstats not working error 404. She had a name change though when she rebranded. Old channel name is wa_kitchensink, New channel name wa_piiickles.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I for the life of me cannot get music to play through my stream. I feel like I’ve tried everything and still nothing. If you have OBS open and your alert source active/visible, you should hear the alert coming from OBS too. If not, you can try refreshing the cache of the overlay (right click -> properties -> refresh cache), or re-adding it.

This isn't Twitch-specific but there doesn't seem to be a #helpdesk-se so I guess I'll put it here: does anyone know how to have youtube alerts & twitch alerts in the same custom overlay? when I make an alert box while my youtube channel is selected, it'll only have youtube alert options and only twitch options when I have my twitch channel selected.

I want it in the same alert so that they share a single queue, aka alerts will wait their turn just like they do for different types of alerts, just also with different platforms, rather than 2 separate overlays which can cover each other and play alerts at the same time. is this really not possible with StreamElements? :c do multi-platform streamers make up such a small percent of their userbase that it isn't in their focus?

thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas on how to do this, or just lets me know it isn't possible with StreamElements

I've been having a problem for a few days now. I'm able to set up the chatbot of another Twitch channel. When I log in with my own Twitch account and switch to the other Twitch channel, it tries to load the URL https://streamelements.com/dashboard. But the dashboard does not load and redirects me to the URL https://streamelements.com/. For this reason, I can't do anything. Also, I can't switch back to my own account after that.
I tried clearing all cookies and caches for https://streamelements.com/. After that, I can log in with my own Twitch account, but when I try to switch to the other Twitch channel, the same procedure starts again.

Have anyone suggestions to solve that problem?

Hey @shrewd valve I'm not sure if you saw the issue I brought up the other day, but I want to repost it because it's a pretty glaring issue that makes no sense and absolutely needs to be fixed. You guys globally disabled Host alerts for everyone if someone Hosts a Live channel while the person who is hosting is Offline.

It literally makes the Host alert completely pointless because why would I have a Host Alert when I have a Raid Alert for when someone Raids my channel after they are done streaming. Pretty sure 99% of anyone who streams doesn't just "host" a channel when they are done streaming. They almost ALWAYS Raid.

Clearing the cache will assure that you have logged out of literally everything, then you can log back in on Twitch and then StreamElements. Has worked for me and a ton of others in the past with very similar issues 🤙

hello! a friend of mine is trying to set up his stream elements overlay in the overlay editor. when he tries to add a static image or text bar, nothing shows up after uploading the image or typing in the text. i know on my end when i do those things the image / text pops up immediately for me. for him its just blank. is there any fix to this?

Hello! I have had a reoccurring issue with my host alerts just not popping up when someone hosts me. It's not even showing up on the activity feed either. I have tried setting the minimum to 0 and 1 or just having no minimum on the activity feed and they still don't pop up

We have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

I have never streamed in my life. I could go host you now and it would pop an alert up on your stream that I'm hosting you for 0 viewers. Unless there's a way for the streamer to set the minimum number of viewers, can you imagine the alerts someone with 10,000 viewers would get if everyone watching decided to host them for 0 viewers? Their stream would be nothing but alerts. If streamers want it, that's different, but it could be used to spam someone. I could go host/unhost until I got bored of doing it and spam your stream with alerts all on my own.

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hey! Not sure if this is already a requested update but it's something I dream about every time I stream 😅

The subs/followers goal widgets on SE don't use the subs/followers total data (this means they don't reflect any unfollows or subs which aren't renewed throughout the stream, so I have to manually update my widget data as I go). This is frustrating because judging from the subs/followers total widgets, it's clearly possible to use that data - so why can't this be applied to the goal widgets?

This is also more of a problem now that Twitch have introduced follow and sub goals in the chat, because - for e.g. if 10 subs aren't renewed throughout a stream, Twitch will reflect that in their sub goal but StreamElements will not.

Please let me know if you need anymore information about this. I think it would HUGELY help a lot of streams to have the option to use total data on the goal widgets! Thank you 😊

I have a new problem, and I've already emailed Lightstream - the console streaming service - to see if it May be something on their end.
For some reason, test alerts work and show up fine. But if someone cheers or subs, None of those alerts show up. Like at all. And I don't get why. It used to work but for some reason it no longer does. And I'm using the same settings as before.

Hello all, how are you ?

I met quite the trouble yesterday in my stream with my new streamelement based widget overlay ^^
I've put a follower/sub/cheer goal rotator and a credit roll at the end, but after 6 hours of stream, none of those two took in account my progression. Follower were still at 323/500 instead of 326 and the credit roll never showed up those new 3 follower, is there something that I missed ?

The only thing that I found that could fix it is to click "Reload Overlays' manually for them to actualize :X Not so handy for a live feature.

To reset goals:

  • from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
  • from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Seems odd that the solution to that is to get identical monitors instead of it adjusting itself properly when switching between monitors of a different res, but if that is the only answer I will get as its my fault for having different monitors then that is... disappointing

Does Streamelements also track the watchtime while loyalty is disabled?

The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

I will do that tonight. I recall logging off twitch in settings and logging back on. Didn’t log off streamelements on obs. Where is this option again?

I updated my Twitch channel name yesterday from SwitchJenna to JennaJuffuffles. I have logged out and back into StreamElements, my alerts are working, but KappaGen won't work at all now. Can anyone help me with this?

We have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

  • All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
  • Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Hello! I have added media request on my stream overlay, it does work, however the sound of the video being played is heard double. I have only put it in once. So it's not a double overlay problem. Anyone got any ideas how to fix this?

Hello! When receiving a raid, I only get the host alert through my overlay. I can see the raid and host in the activity feed, but it only plays the host alert. Is there a way to have the host alert suppressed when a raid happens? Sorry if this has been asked before.

I cannot get my KappaGen overlay to work after I updated my Twitch channel name yesterday from SwitchJenna to my new name JennaJuffuffles. I have logged out and back into StreamElements using my Twitch account and my alerts and event slider are all working, but KappaGen won't work at all now. Also, when I try to select emotes for Emotes explosion, none of my emotes are visibe. Can anyone help me with this?

Sure, I try and update my sub goal to auto update my sub count but its stuck on 0. What I do usually is have a label that shows my overall subcount out of a certain number, but for some reason it is stuck on 0.

twitch allow you to create multiple usernames, streamlabs always cache my login details and i need open streamlabs in a incognito browser to logon as the other user. would be great to have to 'switch user'

Dashboard > Bot Settings > clicked Part Channel, the button changed to Join Channel. Then clicked Join Channel. 🙂
