Hey all having an issue in a streamers channel that i moderate for, The chat bot isn't working at all for us, we've tried reauthenticating with twitch and parting the bot from the channel and then readding it again, the bot is a moderator within the channel aswell

I've had an issue with my host alerts never playing when someone hosts the stream, I have my minimum viewers set to 1 after trying to troubleshoot through google and it still doesn't work. I can test the alert in streamelemnts and it works in streamelements and obs, doesn't work when I'm live and someone hosts.

yep! the image pops up and sound comes out in both obs and the webpage. Just doesnt work when someone hosts. Sometimes, when I'm raided the raid alert plays, sometimes it plays the host alert. But if someone does /host and isn't live it never plays

Hey! I'm trying to sync up my webcam overlay, with a rotating info overlay! It's something i've being trying to fix up for weeks but i just cannot get the timings correct, my recording is a total of 9.59 seconds according to AE but i just can't figure this out at all.... For some reason, the longer the time, the less and less synced it becomes? Any help would be INSANELY appreciated.

I did not try incognito, but yes when ever i tested it would not show the changes i made, or when i started over from scratch it would only show the default. It works on some alerts but others did not change, mainly on subscribers and cheer alerts.

Try in incognito and see if they load. It may be a cookie/memory issue. for the subscriber and cheer alerts, do you have any variants set up?

Well I am trying to make a new overlay for my twtich stream and I have tried two different things. When I create a brand new overlay and add an alret box it doesn't display it on the overlay at all. If I then save it and try to go back into that over lay it tells me it doesn't exist, something like uh oh this overlay doesn't exist. I also tried importing an overlay that I purchased from nerd or die in the past and it shows on the list that it is there but if I try to go into it and edit the overlay it also tells me the same thing

Odds are because streamlabs and streamelements are both in your channel.

If you’re attempting to use a custom bot name with StreamElements then you’ll probably need to reset it

Hello. I have a problem with my StreamElements Chatbot commands not working. Not even the !lurk command. Streamlabs, Nightbot, all still work. I've parted the bot and re-joined. I've even disconnected from OBS and Streamelements and re-authorized and reconnected. Still nothing. The Store redemptions still work if I manually redeem them from inside the loyalty page, but commands DO NOT work. Please help as 90% of my stream toys are streamelements.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hi Guys, so I've encountered a problem, and I can't really wrap my head around it, I asked fellow streamers about it, and it just doesn't work. I'll try to be detailed as much as I can, and sorry if this one has already been answered before.

SO - Raffle and Sraffle Problem.

I've set up my Streamelements bot to be a certified moderator on my twitch Chat, it's also been added to it.

I've set up my Raffle and Sraffle modules and made them "ON".

I also made commands for it that say the particular "!commandraffle" "!commandsraffle". Exclusively for Moderators to use.

And I made Timers for the bot, that say these commands.

I set the offline timer to 1 minute to check if it's working, or not. (I might like to add to this, that I've copied the whole thing from a streamer where it works with no Problem, automatically)

And I mean yeah the timer spams it onto the Chat, but nothing happens.

When I write it into the chat tho. It works in a flash.

So Please Please someone who solved/encountered this problem and solved it, PLEASE could you be so kind and help me out with this one, and point me in which direction should I alter my settings for it to work?

(I also reset the moderator status from the Bot, and tried to get the bot out and rejoin, doesn't work).

(Also it's enabled on both offline and online, so it should work, and it did when I wrote it)

The bot will not respond to commands that it itself types, which means triggering them by having the bot say "!commandraffle" will not work.

You can see other commands you can use to write your own via the command variables in the top right. If you custom added commands, you can manage them under the custom commands (such wow!). You can add alias by clicking the command of either a custom or premade, and then adding in the bottom right box. From this drop down you can edit and delete your commands.

You don't HAVE to use SE.Live as your streaming program to use the overlays but you can simply copy the link from our Overlay editor and then paste that as a browser source into OBS and it will load. Try messing with a few settings to make sure your system is working well. and disabling the preview in OBS/SE.Live might help with processing power

I unmodded and remodded paused and unpaused even made it leave the channel and rejoin but none of my commands would work last night. My alerts would work just not the chatbot. Otherwise it can be from the occasional blip we might have on the backend.

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

We've recently added the count command, and I've everything working except when we use the command it just counts up for however many times it has been used in total, rather than the number of times each viewer has used it. I was wondering is there any way the count command can be specified to count each user individually? Thank you!

remove the 'default' images from the ones that you don't to have variations for. then make sure no 2 have overlaps in the variations; if you have one that is resub greater than 5 and one that is resub greater than 10 and someone resubs at 20 months both will trigger (if they are in different alert boxes)

But in regards to sources I only had the browser, desktop audio and microphone as sources. I tried to use stream elements as a pop out window. But I realised I only get sounds when in the editor mode when running commands. I believe that Loyalty points can be transferred by using the !rename command if the Twitch username (ID) is changed.
Is it possible for a malicious user, for example, to take away someone else's username using the !rename command?
I was a little concerned because I have made it known to my viewers that if they change their usernames, they should use the !rename command.

Hi! I was having some problems last night that got sorted., but tonight at ~10:20pm PST, I lost my custom bot again. I tried a reauth, and it worked for a minute, but disappeared again. StreamElements will come in and report, but the custom bot name is not responding.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I'm looking at adding the Caps Protection filter to my channel's bot but having tested it seems the messages caught don't go through the normal route of appearing in moderator view, showing up as "deleted" etc. in chat. Instead it seems the message just doesn't send and the user is none the wiser.

Is this by design, and is there a way to let the message get funnelled through the normal moderator process?

Hi Everyone, there used to be a way to rename StreamElements bot on twitch, like 2 years ago. Now the only way I can find to rename it is via SE live and for it to work, you have to Stream from SE live or at least have it open. Is there anther way to do it or now this is the only way?

Hello everybody, I've been slowly moving my stuff to StreamElements over the last 2-ish weeks, and I was setting up Custom Commands yesterday and did one for !lurk, but I'm getting an error message: "Parsing error at position 56: Mismatched argument, missing end of argument" I've adjusted the !lurk command text some to see if that "Parsing error" might change, but I still get that message. Not sure what I need to try to fix it?

I recently moved all my bot and alerts stuff to SE, and I'm having an issue with "doubling" of my alerts. I have 1 overlay that has an alert box and kappagen, but when I get a sub/raid/any alert with sound it doubles the sound. I muted or deleted the alert box on all other OBS sources, made "source not visible" when not active, but I think what's happening is that the bot is reading chat-based alerts (so not on OBS, but from chat) and making alerts of those too. Any suggestions on how to stop this doubling?

Lets say you're big streamer and you have 10 mods. All mods are working on the commands of you and theres no single backup and no logs existing. That would end in a total disaster, even if you trust everyone, especially if 2 or 3 mods are not able to use the syntax correctly.

That backup/logs feature would be pretty awesome

i get your point of view but still a communication break down. That is something that i would feel is a big undertaking for a cloud based bot unless you built and hosted your own.

Hi Everyone, New streamer over here and im having issues connecting my Bot to my Twitch / OBS Live. Oddly enough it says everything is good to go when I check my imports and settings but when i go live it all stops working. Do I have to have StreamElementsOBS.Live running in the background on top of OBS or StreamElements.Live or is there something I might not be doing right. i was thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling but i dont know if that will help or make things worse.

You can use the API to pull all the public commands. https://dev.streamelements.com/docs/kappa/b3A6NTM5NzEwMA-channel-public It'll give you a nice JSON file. You can probably use it to add commands back in too.

Hello, I'm having a hard time getting my follower alert to work through the browser source

so when making a overlay, the sound works when testing in chrome.
Yet when i paste it in OBS (browser source) it doesnt work.
I changed no settings, and filled the link in with a friend of mines overlay, and that did work.
None off the overlays i made, duplicated, or changed on streamelements worked. Only the one made by my friend who just sent me the link.
The Animation comes through, but the SOUND DOESN'T.

I had the problem for a few months already but just used other services to get it done. But now i kinda do want it fixed properly since i start getting some donations and stuff, and people deserve to get their stuff shown.

@neon latch If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.
