If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hello my english is not very good so i am going to use a translator. my problem is that when i type bot commands in chat nothing happens.

i thought it was obs but i tried it on the twitch page and it doesn't work either

I thought it might be because in the morning I downloaded the streamlabs deck app and linked my account (I didn't like the app and uninstalled it) And a few hours later I wanted to stream and I saw that it would not let me see the settings of my stream (such as see the name of the stream etc) and it would not let me see the chat either. Then I closed obs and already See the chat

And when I tried to write the commands that I programmed it did not let me

And what surprises me is that the only thing that does not work is the bot, the overlays and the chat work perfectly

Hey peeps. I just switched to Streamelements for my alerts and the alerts for hosting are not popping on screen and I can't see a host event in my activity feed. I've made sure that the minimum viewer amount is set to 1 for hosts. Any idea what might be causing this?

What would be a good way to display chat for my own viewing while streaming. Im on a 3440x1440 monitor, i thought about just going windowed mode and lowering the resolution or using a second phone for it, but just wanted to verify.
I have chat itself working in the overlay.
Steamlabs is not an option for obvious reasons lol

Hi all, I am a twitch streamer and I am having huge issues with my 'Host' Alert and I have tired the advice given...to put the counter to at least 1. I did this and it worked for 1 day...now it is back to not working. All my other Alerts, such as 'Follows', 'Subs' & 'Raids' work.......just not 'Hosts'? Can anyone help and advice further? I just tried SE today and it seems that Hosts with 0 viewers are neither shown in the feed, nor the are accessible via websockets.

Is there a hidden setting in order to achieve this. Even a host wich currently has 0 viewers is still an advertisement and it's respectful to show them. Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Hey guys, I've been using SE for my alerts for a while now and have randomly over the time of using it had a little glitch that has ailed specifically my follower alert. In essence all it does is skip the beginning of the sound effect over and over like a broken record before finishing it. It still shows up on stream okay, the sound is just a little jarring and sounds nothing how it's supposed to. Wondering if there are any explanations for this as I couldn't find anything online.

You can add, remove and make changes to custom commands in chat with !command/!cmd flags:

!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I will inform them first that they are missing this information now. I don't think many people will like that.

It's a triple edged sword; first is if the SE system can get it from the API (and that depends on several factors), then if people want to see 0 hosts, and this goes back just a couple months with the follow/hate raid spam. I can't answer why it's not an option other than the command you first responded to.

I will put it on the board. The feed is already able to filter the numbers of viewers. So I see technically no reason that even the websocket api is filtering this hardcoded by default.
Currently I have my own implementation via twitch api directly, because Tipeeestream was too unreliable a few years ago. But I would like to switch to SE and then I see no reason to implement two API's (Twitch and SE). And I would like to have full control on what I see, if something happens out there 😉
Of course I can understand the problem with hate raids ( I never had). But the fake follow problem is not part of this solution, and furthermore a raid is also shown as host in the feed, which is kinda disturbing 😉

Thanks for putting it on the board. If hosts and raids are coming through as the same thing, I will make a note to have that looked into (shouldn't be combined). For the Twitch + SE thing; it depends on the data that you need for your stream and your alerts. All of the above is fun, I use Twitch.js (IRC) for chat, PubSub for some alerts, and SE for visuals 🙂

Made my own visuals and handle them locally. own feed as well, because I have a lyric chat command and this will be shown in my feed with the option to have linebreaks for longer texts . using twitchlib c#. But having the additional features of SE would be nice as well like the streamer store. But I don't really want to mix up both apis. 😉

I wanted it to always show the recent subs data, etc (list of 25) of a stream and I think the code needs to be adjusted for that - my js knowledge is very limited unfortunately. Currently it's only showing a few followers and nothing else.
There's definitely an error in the code regarding "username font size" -changing it in the interface doesn't have any effect. But it is simple to correct.

@craggy geyser if you managed to solve @rare hollow 's issue do you mind giving me a ping? I think we're both facing the same issue. It's absolutely no rush on my side.

Hi, i have a problem with the Streamelements Alert. It doesn't display the Alert if some bad words are present in the name or in the description, but the text in chat appears and it happens only with bad words. i have a followers named Dickay and his alerts dont show. I tested with the emulate followers custom button and confirmed that only bad words don't shows up. I also checked the filter-spam and other bot options but i didn't find nothing.. If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

To reset goals:

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

I'm struggling to share a computer with my boyfriend. We both stream on two different channels we both set up our own scenes to use for when either of us stream. The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.
