Hello, it has been almost a week i cannot see my dashboard nor activity feed nor the tipping settings on SE site, and when i press connect to twitch it says network error , everything else is working just fine any idea what might be the problem? it seems like tipping is bugged or something causing activity feel not to show, can someone please help?

• logged out and logged back in

Hello! Can someone please tell me current instructions for a custom bot name?

(Plenty of YT videos about it, but most seem to refer to Ground Control, and it seems to no longer work)

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Alright so i mod for someone and her streamelements keeps semding "response message" every now and again. The message just comes up randomly, not along with any other timer messages.

Issue: Getting .webm videos with alpha transparency to show as transparent in alert overlays. I'm creating videos in Adobe AfterEffects (where I do know what I'm doing) and exporting them with transparency - tried both 8 and 10 bit versions. I'm getting solid backgrounds and no transparency on Twitch overlays in OBS. Any ideas? I do need video with audio as they have soundtracks so GIFs are not really a good solution.

What you're talking about is probably not an offline banner, it's an end scene to display with OBS after you've finished the stream.

When I created these files for myself I generated video files with a green background, then used FFMPEG to convert and get rid of it with chroma key. If that's a possible solution for you, I'll happily share.

Hi. I am having some trouble with the Kappagen. For Emotesplosions, I cannot choose to use my Twitch Emotes. If I type the command into chat with an emote, it explodes that/those emotes. But it is defaulted to BTTV emotes and I cannot change that default to be my Twitch Emotes.

Hey there - was wondering if I could get any tips about streaming (Twitch) from my phone. I'm headed out of town for a couple weeks, and wifi is a little spotty where I'm going. I stream through my laptop/Ableton Live and was gonna set up a bluetooth speaker (sound from my laptop) close to my phone. Not sure how the sound quality will be, but willing to give it a go. Do not recommend this with the speaker and the phone mic, that will sound horrible.
There are tons of audio interfaces that work with mobile devices, so you will be able to have a separate input for a clean signal, please use one.

The alertbox will scale the image, but you need to leave additional room for the text below and to the sides. Make sure you select the correct format (text over image etc.) before adjusting dimensions.

Text not showing up over your alerts? Go to the Advanced Text Settings and set the top margin to 50, you can work your way to the right position from there.

Okay so on stream we have Streamavatars. They have their own command list. The command to get that command list is !commands , so its the same as the command to get the streamelements commands. But when used, the command only shows the Streamavatar command list, streamelements does not respond at all

To reset goals:

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to StreamElements, but have been able to set up some pretty good stuff for my stream. I had a quick question though that I can't really seem to find on Google. Is there a way to have an alert alter my overlay permanently, or to have part of the alert stay on the screen until the next alert if that makes sense? I have an area of my overlay I would like to have the color change on during/after an alert, and then stay that color until the next alert (at which point it would go to that particular alert's color) and so on and so forth

there are like 2 solutions for that; 1 would be to create a custom widget that changes that area on screen. (widgets can't talk to each other, so it would all need to be built into a single one; i.e. change CSS background color to red on Tip) Second option would be to have different OBS scenes and toggle between those. There are a couple examples of using the OBS webhooks if you search for in: widget-share OBS here in Discord.

Correct; if that area you have reserved is already a custom widget then you can edit the style as events happen. For example a "camera border"; you can change that to 1 one color for tips, a different for cheers, etc.

Howdy. There was a wave a twitch bots that came in and broke my follower goal. They ended up getting banned, so they aren't on my twitch dashboard anymore. Is there any way to like delete the followers from the follower log or manually fix the widget.

If you are using the total follower/total subscriber widget, reset your session from the Activity Feed to fetch updated data from twitch. If you’re using goal widgets, you can edit the progress of any goal by going to Activity Feed > Widget Data > Goals. This can also be found in the Overlay Editor by selecting DATA (next to WIDGETS) > Goals.

But today I went to add a similar command to another chat, but when using it, instead of using the name of the person I @ it uses mine.

uhm it definitely works, I'm just not sure why 'user' wasn't working on the second channel though, I just tested on the first channel which is offline atm with no one watching. and the 'user' properly specifies the person even though they aren't in chat. But on the other channel which had someone raid them and the person was watching stream, 'user' only called up my name. Maybe it has to do with whether they sent a message or not?

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

!quote is a default command that currently has no UI for management.

In general, some default commands have "hidden information", due to permissions, that cannot be changed, like for the !quote command;
Any user can use !quote or !quote # in order to post a random/specific quote in chat.
But adding/removing quotes with the !quote add/remove arguments is permitted to user levels "Moderator" and above.

There is no option to edit quotes, so if a specific quote needs to be edited, you're able to remove it with !quote remove # and re-add it with !quote add QUOTE.
The quote number will be assigned based on previous quotes already added. So if 2 quotes were already added, the next one will be #3.

Not really. The goals can only be reset on that page and they always count up. The workaround would be to use other widgets that display session data etc. and make them look like a goal.

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

• All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.

Hi. No need to close the account. Try to reset the session (in the activity feed) and check the numbers after like 10 minutes. Subscriber numbers do not update instantly.

6. Navigate to the Console tab

Your camera is currently in 4:3 mode and not in 16:9 which is what the border is set to. You can crop your camera by holding alt and dragging in a corner

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Why is my activity feed stuck?

1. it says that "my current session started 3 days ago" but that session is over (has been for days)
2. it shows me followers that I don't know and they are not on my twitch follower list (I played with SE overlays and triggered follower action there as a sample - can it be that?)
3. it misses followers - my activity feed only shows followers from these 3 days and not the ones before

Hello, I'm trying to make my stream perk redeemable on the Twitch StreamElements extension, but when I click on the item, it gives the message, "this item can be redeemed only in the stream store." I have checked the settings for the perk and I have it redeemable on the website, extension, and via chat. There is also no way to get to the store from the extension. Followers are only updated from when you joined us, not before. And sessions get reset after a stream ends. Once you start streaming it'll be ok.
