Does anyone happen to know how to auto fire a custom api response if the response is longer than the twitch character limit into 2 messages?

To give context: I use a bot command that calls a custom API to show who is hosting me and it cuts off if there are more than the Twitch character limit. I'd like it to post the rest of the API response in a second message (or a third if necessary).

   Please refresh the browser source in OBS. - I have no idea where this is within the menu system to allow this

Thanks. The interface makes it appear that you can add multiple streaming platforms to the same streamelements account. Apparently though, that requires some janky merging process. This should probably be made more clear, as in once you are logged in via YT, you should not see a prompt to add channels from twitch, etc.

Hi. I just got StreamElements over the weekend, and my dashboard doesn't show anything in my Activity Feed for my Twitch subs, followers, or bits. It's all empty data.
How can I fix this?

When it comes to alert variations am I correct to say that we are missing an important feature of multiple conditions?
Currently, there is no way to play a different alert for each Tier of subscription while keeping the default resubscription message format.

The message for first time Tier 2 subscription currently looks like:
Brian just resubscribed for 1 months at Tier 2

Ideally you would have multiple conditions for a single variation. e.g:

1. Months subscribed is at least 2
   2.Tier is Tier 2

Additionally, a condition could have a selection of And, Or. e.g:

1. Months subscribed is at least 2
2. Tier 2 Or Tier 3

Same goes for gifted subscriptions, there is no way to show a different alert for the community gift alert based on tier:
Brian just gifted 10 Tier3 subs
Brian gifted John a Tier 3 subscription!

Potentially, one of the variations for community gifted sub alerts could look like:

1. Gifted subs amount is at least 20 And Tier 1
2. Or Gifted subs amount is at least 10 And Tier 2

Multiple conditions would make higher Tier sub/gift alerts stand out and provide a greater incentive. (Rare animation/sound for Tier 3)

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard, and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterward, but not a list of settings.

2. Add an item that has these settings on it:

• Stream Perk
• Loyalty settings to your desire
• (Next step) Add contents (image and/or sound you want to play)
• "Redeeming this item shows an alert
• Redemable via chat
• Skip Requirements

3. Get the item name/command from the 2nd creation page
4. Go to commands page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot-commands/custom-commands
5. Add command with desired name and have response for command as: ${redeem item_name_here}
6. Go to your overlays and edit the overlay you use.
7. Click on "widgets" and add "Store redemptions" widget. Click save and you should be golden.
8. Test your own command in chat and have OBS or editor open to hear sound

@ancient forge If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@short harbor The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

This is not how it works. There is a workaround - set up the alerts as you like on the first one and then duplicate those to other overlays.

I have a question about the steamelements chat bot roulette module. I have turned on the module and left the default settings which seems to mean there should be a 45% chance to win when a chatter uses the !roulette command. I have run a little test with this module because chatters were complaining that they lose too much on the stream. For example I had one chatter who wanted to try to bet against the system so they used !roulette (amount) when I wasn't live to try to gain more points by starting with 1 then 5 then 12... anyway they kept increasing their bet each time they lost betting they would eventually win because of the increasing odds of winning. This chatter said they lost 12 times in a row which seems statistically highly improbable with a theoretical 45% chance to win. I was curious so I tried doing the same thing and after a while I found that I had lost 13 times in a row once. Now to my question, is there "screw you" logic in the roulette module that essentially forces a chatter to lose if they have been playing too much or something of that sort? I don't mind my chatters winning but I also don't want to make it so easy to win that it isn't fun anymore.

Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

thats not how probabilities work, its totally possible to lose x times in a row since these are not combined events but rather one after the other, you can read more about that method here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system) - but back to your question, the higher the number the more chances to win

@red light If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

I think you don't quite get the situation. OBS.Live is an addon for OBS Studio, not it's own software like SLOBS. Also: "no wonder why so many people use streamlabs". SLOBS wouldn't exist without OBS Studio because it's literally based on it. All of its underlying code is OBS Studio. The only thing they did is to cripply its performance by slapping a janky UI on it.

@quartz trout If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

@brave lake The !watchtime command is directly tied to the Loyalty system. The Loyalty system must be enabled for viewers' watchtime to count up.
To enable Loyalty, please go to the Loyalty section of your account: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/loyalty
Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

I believe if someone renamed, they need to give at least 1 more gift to show up as the updated name and then you can add their old name to the ignore list in the extension settings

In my experience it takes awhile for it to update, but it generally randomly updates 2-3 days after you use the !rename command
