@novel turtle If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Not sure if this is the right channel (apologies if it isn't), but does anyone know where I change the bot response that happens when users give eachother points in chat with the !give or !givepoints command. The bot responds with "user gave x amount of points to user PogChamp emote" but I can't find in the dashboard where to change this response. So I have this problem where my command is still running after I don't want it too. I made this command and I tested it and I ended up wording it wrong. I then edited it so it could say what I want but it was still saying the other thing. So I just deleted the command and recreated it to say what I wanted it to say originally. I can't seem to stop a username from showing up in my top tips?
I had a £1000 tip, that was imported by a moderator as a joke. Now I've tried resetting session, deleting the imported tip, blocking the tipper and checking every available tab on streamelements although the only place it shows up now is in "Aggregates" on the widget data section but the box is greyed out and I can't clear it or change it to the actual top tipper.

I would love to know a workaround as it is current taking the spot for a genuine top tipper, so I would like to get it sorted asap.

question about the custom bot name for StreamElements i had it working on my old pc with obs and i did the same steps to connect it to my new pc with obs

when i use a command in my chat the bot is still named StreamElements and not the account i had created and connected.

@chrome fractal For me, I go to OBS.Live and in the StreamElements activity feed I click the "drawer" in the top left > Then click stream settings > Then scroll down to custom bot name > Login with the bot account > And then click the drop down and select the new bot account name.

If you open your dashboard, on the left scroll down to loyalty. You need that to be enabled to track those statistics then you can give people points. You can't give people "Twitch Channel Points" though atm, the API needs to be released before that's available.

It may take a while to start tracking stats, if you turned loyalty on from this point forward stats will start tracking. So all previous engagement or top viewer wont show.

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

so first i downloaded a preset and it has like empty twitch, twitter, and instagram places where you should put your platform handles, how would i edit it to change what it says, also when i put my preset into my obs it only shows a corner of the preset i think im doing it wrong

@meager scarab The default resolution for StreamElements overlays (theme and custom) is 1920x1080.
Please add them in OBS at their full resolution and use CTRL+F to fit to screen if necessary.
You can then downscale your stream in OBS settings > Video if you'd like

Regarding your overlay, you choose a layer and scroll down to go to its Settings (by pressing 'Settings') and there you can change what you need

make sure it's on for the main alert and for the variation itself, and make sure to save the changes in the overlay

it's configuration then, just go over each variation and change settings till you hear the bot reads them out
if one variation works there's nothing other than settings that'll prevent the bot from reading them out

I am having an issue with my kappagen. i have it added to my obs as a browser source. the issue is that the emotes only appear on screen, once there are already active emotes. so the first emote, or set of emotes in chat doesn't get displayed on my stream, but if someone puts more emotes in chat while those are still "active" (bouncing around on screen), it does show those on my stream??? if i have the url open in a browser outside of obs, it shows all the emotes however??? please help

@lament blade If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
  2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
  3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).
