Got a couple things for you.

Account Merging - Please note:

  • Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
  • Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
  • Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts

If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member

There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner-type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

Just wanna follow up with this -> trying to figure out how to prioritize gifted subs over a (re)sub in my alerts.. right now, when someone gifts a sub, the (re)sub alert variation pops up Instead of the gift sub variation. I have the tiers and prime figured out, but the gifts I can't. Any assisstance?

I have my kappagen set up to go off for subscribers, but when someone gifts multiple subs, it multiplies the amount of kappagen emotes exploding on screen, instead of one emote spam for the overall gift.. if someone gifts even 5 subs, emotes just fill the screen, is there a way to stop that?

Hi, So i have an issue that everytime i press "dashboard" i just get sent back to the streamelements home screen.
I am able to access my own dashboard if i first go to profile and then right click the "streamelements" in the top left corner.
From my dashboard i am able to access 1 out of 3 streamers dashboard - When i press a dashboard i get greeted with the home page again.
i tried different browser, incognito, different PC - same issue all over.
Anybody tried this and have a solution?

Hi guys! I hope someone's gonna be able to fix my issue with obs.live. When I start streaming i am experiencing frames drop once every minute basically. They go from 4500 to 0 and then go back to 4500 after a few seconds making my gaming experience terrible. This happens only when I'm live. When i play online without obs running everything's smooth and perfect. I've been doing a speed test with a score of 65mbps download and 20mbps upload so I don't think it's a connection problem. This has been happening in the last 2 days. Please help me 😦

@fossil agate Speed tests mean very little with regards to streaming and your choice of bitrate. They measure your raw upload speed to a server that's near you (likely run by your local ISP), instead of your stable upload speed to a streaming server. Your stable speed will determine the bitrate you can comfortably stream at.

The stable speed can be estimated as roughly 70-85% of the speed test result in a lot of cases, however, this is by no means a perfect estimate. In reality, it may end up being much worse if there are problems between your ISP and the streaming service.

  1. They didn't got shown on the activity feed neither in OBS.Live, in the Streamelements app or on the website
  2. There were no alerts for the followers

hi folks im looking for some advice, I dont quite fully understand the mechanics behind the actual process of streaming and the impact it has on hard, other than - the better you want it to look the more horse power you need. Ive in the past streamed on a ryzen 5 3600 (16gb ram) GTX 1080 - monitor 24 inch 120 hz 1080p game and stream settings. Ive now upgraded my monitor to a 1440 27" and Im assuming that my pc now works harder to display garphics and thus theres less room for the stream. - I hope this makes sense so far.

Hello, I have a problem. Yesterday I streamed on Twitch and had a problem. I gained followers but:

  1. They didn't got shown on the activity feed neither in OBS.Live, in the Streamelements app or on the website
  2. There were no alerts for the followers
  3. My follower goal and today's follower count didn't work at all (I had to do it all manually)
  4. If I simulate an event everything works fine

So I think the connection to twitch doesn't work properly?
How can I reconnect my twitch to streamelements without losing all my settings?

@urban patio If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

i have been using slobs for a long time, but your kappagen is better than their emote wall. i created an overlay on SE and loaded the browser url into my slobs. everything works great... half the time? when i run a browser with the url, i can see the emotes every time though. any idea what the disconnect could be? i know you guys dont really support this grey area but hoping you have some idea.

sorry to bother you again, but I think I found my issue; I never made an account on stream elements for the main account, I only made one for my alt since I wanted to test out features on that one first. on the directions you listed above you mentioned that I need the tokens from both accounts, but since I dont have an account created with my main, I only have the tokens from the alt (thats also probably why it wont give me the option to choose which twitch account, since I only made one on stream elements with my alt). I guess my question then becomes, how do I make another account? -- sorry if this doesnt make complete sense

Hi i've been using the streamelements OBS for a couple months now and have had no issues but then today, randomly, after treaming for like 40 minutes my bitrate starts fluctuating a lot and im dropping a ton of frames. I've tried encoding in different ways to see if it helps but nothing is working. my ping in game has stayed the same so I don't think its my internet

@drowsy eagle Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Use the Twitch Bandwidth Test to find the best Twitch server to stream to. Set Duration to Medium. You can uncheck any regions you're not near.

After the test completes, click the Share Result button to upload a screenshot, which can then be copied and pasted here.

Watchtime counts up every 10 minutes alongside Loyalty points, and only while the stream is live. Reruns will not be counted.
Please note that watchtime is not tracked by Twitch and there is no way to retroactively apply past watchtime to viewers.

Hey I am having an issue were Twitch follows and hosts are not coming through alerts and the activity feed when live. It will show point redemptions and raids. I double checked that I had an alert set up for the ones not working and tested them and the tests work fine.

@ancient beacon If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

  1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
  2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
  3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
  4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
  5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
  6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again
