@left axle If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello! So, I have a problem and I can't really find any solving for it online. So, basically I just created an overlay in StreamElements, I wanted my own overlay instead of going for one of the free ones. I added my alerts, logo, facecam border etc, but when I try to import everything into OBS (choosing the right resolution and everything) the overlay is way too big than before, and I can't quite resize it manually to fit the screen. Any thoughts about this?

!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used

Asking again as I still didn't find a solving to this, Overlay from Streamelements changes sizes in OBS, it becomes huge and I can't fit it properly into OBS. Help?!

I did add them in OBS at 1920x1080, overlay was created at 1080, OBS runs on 1080. If i Press CTRL+F it goes back to the initial huge dimensions. For a scale example the webcam frame is half of the OBS screen. While in streamelements overlay it shows that everything fits perfectly inside.

I tried now to get one of the free themes from StreamElements. I put it on OBS and again it comes out way bigger (so same problem).

Hi, it's me again. Back to check in on Regex matching of commands. Just another update that still Regex isn't functioning as expected. I am a mod for streamer 'fanhots' and his commands have some commands' Regex that work and some that do not. The ones that do not are valid Regex and work fine if i just copy and paste the same thing to my personal channel. Parting the bot and Rejoining does not help. I feel like perhaps the only issue that could be causing malfunction is if individual streamers are only allocated a certain amount of Regex or something. If you need an example to look at, take a look at command !patch in his account, note the Regex and that using this on your own channel will probably yield the correct result, but typing patch notes? or patch? in HIS chat will not work properly. (As you can see I 'hardcoded' a bunch of matches into the command keywords to compensate for Regex not working properly) Cheers.

I'm probably being dumb, but If I have 3 timers my Bot posts to my Twitch chat while I'm live, is there any way to set an offset between them? So they each post once an hour, but I get a different one every 20 minutes? I can see how to change their interval, but no way to set any kind of offset, or post at xx:00 xx:20 or xx:40 or something like that. Does this exist and I'm being blind, or does someone have a solution for this? Thanks!

So a friend has a custom bot that posts the timers for join discord at xx:00 youtube link at xx:15 twitter link at xx:30 and tiktok link at xx:45 on the clock. It's a super simple solution for those sorts of check my socials regular prods. That API does look good, but seems like a bit of a sledgehammer-nut scenario to me. But I am a simple being so I try to work within my limitations 😅

Please understand that every setup will be very different.

Any guides or videos that claim otherwise are misinforming. Your best option is to start with a base and adjust as necessary.

You can run the OBS auto-configuration tool. To use the auto-config, click on the Tools menu in OBS, select Auto-Configuration Wizard and then just follow the on-screen directions.
You can use this tool to get baseline settings for your hardware and adjust as necessary from there.

Test, test, and test again. We are happy to offer suggestions for any issues you may be having afterwards, but not a list of settings.

Ok, so upon testing, there are 2 variables for the !shoutout command that streamers can use

One is ${user} which is the most used variable

which returns your name in kanji/hiragana

while ${user.name} returns your romaji name

now, this is not something we can do to help change for everyone as this involves a lot of people's customs commands

and frankly i don't think its possible because its custom commands

simplest thing is, on the people you frequently raid/host simply suggest to them to use ${user.name}

instead of ${1} or ${user}

just to elaborate on the 2 variables

What I assume here is ${user.name} actually takes the lower cased name from the twitch link, as it seems to be working properly, while ${user} returns something specific for your username from the twitch API

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

I am trying to create a pair of commands for twitch use. I want one command to be for setting a challenge (!setchallenge - mod use only).. and a separate command that pulls input from the !setchallenge one. I know the mods can just use the edit !challenge aspect of twitch, but I have a few other more complex ideas as well that i want to implement in the future that pulls info from other chat commands for the command's input. I am selecting the "emulate" button in the streamelements editor to test it out. I hear sound when i press emulate but that sound is not showing up in my stream. So i record the stream and test the alert and you can see the alert but no sound.

I'm having a bot issue on one of the channels I mod for.

The bot is connected to OBS.Live and is modded on the channel itself. but commands have failed to yield any responses.
Things we (streamer and myself) have tried:
-Muting/unmuting bot
-parting and rejoining the chat
-updating stream token from twitch
-removing Streamlabs chatbot from chat
-modding StreamElements bot

this has been going on for the past couple of streams (about a few days)

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money.

Hi SE friends! I'm a newly affiliated twitch streamer, and I'm having some issues with my Donations not going through. I have all my information setup in the "Tipping Settings", and my Alerts in OBS are set too, but several viewers tried to donate yesterday but it never showed up. The SE tipping page didn't spit out an error or anything, it seemed like the transaction went through, but never did. I've been googling all night to no avail. Any idea why this might be happening? @uneven jacinth If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again
