then; yes. it is all cloud based. so you build the overlays on the website editor and they load from any computer when you start stream

SteamElements provides "streamer tools" or basically overlays, chat bot, etc

You build the overlays on the website and can test (emulate) actions. then import them into OBS. OBS is provided by a different company that does the actual "streaming"

okay so since i just set up my OBS.Live with everything I have in terms of my scenes, webcam, borders, transitions, etc..it would be redundant to do it again on the site since I will be exporting it anyway into OBS

i tend to overanalyze things haha. just unsure in terms of what would be my best bet in regard to freeing up any strain on PC during gameplay..although this is a brand new build, some games are CPU intensive

basically OBS is it's own program that does the coding for your streaming at sends your screen to Twitch

then the .LIVE is a 'plugin' that adds extra features from StremElements.

So anything on your PC will be from OBS.

@ionic kelp seemed to be a relatively temporary glitch. On SE overlays we played tip emulation and had no alert appear. But Bitties emulation had the alert appear. Someone from stream tried to donate to the stream and was given the message "tip successful" but no notification came through on Stream Elements App or History. I ended up donating $3 myself (less afterfees) in order to
test scenario under the same scenario. Seemed to go thorugh..

I have an old SE account with many channels connected (Twitch, two YouTube accounts), and one of these YT accounts got the name updated but SE still shows up the first twitch's name even on that YT tipping page and I'm not able to change/update it, neither I'm able to unlink the YT account from that SE account

The old name is HuskyTrooper and the new one is Killuki Zaoldyeck

Despite that I can see the name change on the channels selection, the old name is still kept on the rest of places.

And I know the only programmer which have to fight everyday to add the new things in a software that he haven't designed and lost support

Thing is, these functions can be developed by SE, like they did with everything, and, personally, the delete our data and unlink our accounts should be a must even for privacy.

It's our data afterall, and we must have the right to erase it if we want to desist at some point (even if it's just for fix an account link issue).

I'm trying to set up the media request tool to allow the users to "attach" a song to their donation. I've managed to configure everything, the only thing that I'm not sure about is if the song will start together with the donation alert or if it will start once the TTS is over.

I'm afraid they will go together, since they are two different elements in the overlay.

similarly, what happens if two users donate a 1 min song each? the two alerts will go in like 30 seconds, so the first song will still be running and the second song will be simply queued after that, right? Since donations and songs are not really tied together but rather donations are just an instruments to add to the queue.

Hello, I need help please. I'm a moderator of a twitch channel and the streamer has switched from streamlabs to streamelements alerts. We have configured the overlay in Streamelements, the problem is that the "All time top tipper" have the amount tripled. The rest of the data I think is fine (Last 7 days top tipper, All time top tip, etc ...)

We think that she used import tool (Chrome addon) 3 times by mistake.

How can we solve it?

Using the option "Reset Session" on "Total" labels would solve it? We would have to do something else?(import the data again perhaps?)

I have read previous similar cases where some admin did a reset of the tips, if I give you the Account ID would it be possible to do it?

After this reset, with importing the data only once, would they be fine?

@daring folio If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Hello, I need help please. I'm a moderator of a twitch channel and the streamer has switched from streamlabs to streamelements alerts. We have configured the overlay in Streamelements, the problem is that the "All time top tipper" have the amount tripled. The rest of the data I think is fine (Last 7 days top tipper, All time top tip, etc ...)

We think that she used import tool (Chrome addon) 3 times by mistake.

How can we solve it?

Using the option "Reset Session" on "Total" labels would solve it? We would have to do something else?(import the data again perhaps?)

I have read previous similar cases where some admin did a reset of the tips, if I give you the Account ID would it be possible to do it?

After this reset, with importing the data only once, would they be fine?

Hello friends, when I enable TTS in my notifications on a StreamElements scene, I hear the notification, but my audience does not, how does one set this up properly? the only thing I can think of that is happening, is that I run a dual PC settup, and have my audio monitored on the elgato so that I can hear what's going on in game, if I don't mute the stream pc's audio in OBS, my audience gets an echo; my thoughts are that for some reason for TTS to be heard my desktop needs to not be muted? Can anyone confirm this and if so is there a work around?

@sonic scarab If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

@jolly frost you should check your Paypal account if the amount has already been credited to it. Only after the credit is confirmed on your Paypal is that StreamElements is informed of the donation made and then it will appear in your Activity Feed to be shown in the alert and also in the Revenue History of your donations.

It doesnt work with donations tho. If someone donates through the link, I get the money on PayPal correctly but nothing on stream shows it.
You saying it's because SE doesnt interact fully with Streamlabs OBS?

@sharp socket Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

1. Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
2. On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
3. Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Does anyone know how to fix media request not showing up on the stream, after it's set up correctly?

My media request was working fine for over a week, I didn't change anything, it still works perfectly in the browser testing mode, but in obs it only shows up on the stream about 10% of the time, when I randomly restart and refresh the media request widget. I always hear sound from the media request, but when I press show on stream, it only shows up about 10% of the time and seems to be completly random no matter how much I restart stuff.

@round bramble I did this, restarted my computer multiple times, logged in and out of all of my accounts multiple times, ran multiple virus scanners, and cleaned my hardrive. Both options don't change anything, the media request widget still only appears around 5-10% of the time i refresh or reload the thing. And then, it randomly stops working after that.

I’m having trouble getting my notifications to show up on my overlay. I have a custom jingle which works fine, and the follow notification shows up in OBS Activity Feed, but nothing on the overlay. I have tried using a separate notification overlay as well as the native notification function on my regular overlay. Emulations show up when testing, but not when streaming. And as far as I can tell, I haven’t got another layer blocking the notifications in OBS. Sorry for the essay, hope this is enough info. Thanks so much

I've been inspired by twitch user ScottFalco to implement a minigame system into our stream! From what I can see here is how the minigame work

User reedems a set amount of points from the store > a random "effect" (store items he created tied to an animation) will play.

I can't find any documentation on how to make it so that when a viewer redeems points it chooses a random item from the store. If anyone could point me in the right diffraction I would be forever grateful!

@half fog Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

to change the overlay text you need to click 'settings' after selecting that layer

I have a horror overlay which has it's own alerts (Stream Elements) and I have my usual one with it's own alerts and sounds (StreamLabs). @radiant spindle There are a few different ways you can do that. The simplest is to simply remove or hide your StreamLabs alerts when you're doing a Horror stream, and vice versa for your non-horror stream days.

Each of your overlays uses a different Browser Source in OBS. It's as simple as clicking the little 'Eye' icon next to each source to enable/disable the alerts from showing and playing.

@woven verge If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@radiant spindle If your alerts are solely located in a different scene, they won't play in a different scene. That said, don't forget that you can nest scenes within scenes in OBS. For instance, I have an "Overlays" scene that I include as a source over ALL of my other scenes. This means I can administrate all of my overlays in a single scene in OBS.
