Hi hope someone may have a solution for me. Right now no one can see any of my chat messages on their stream. I have no bans and it’s irrespective of app/platform. I use obs.live and have renamed my bot to my twitch username. Could this be the issue? Any other ideas?

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@gloomy cloak Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

Does it consume more connection by putting streamelement links on streamlabs for example, donation alerts ect. or not? I feel like I'm using more than streamlabs, I have lost images on the streamlabs. Or is it bad luck ? I don't really see how it could consume some connection, but you never know @zenith widget

I saw a video of people buying full packs from Nerd or Die which has an [.html] link that uploads all the scenes/overlays directly/ instantly into StreamElements... sigh.. Own3d help page just basically says ... take these full premade awesome scenes/overlays and rebuild them yourself in StreamElements with the included assets. (or) upload the overlays whole Streamlabs.. cause apparently that is a thing there.

Nerd or Die has the ability to share the overlays via such a link, so you can import them with basically two clicks. That's not the case with Own3d, that's why you have to rebuild them asset by asset (like you already mentioned).

The "link sharing" feature is something that not everyone can use, because it has to be enabled manually by staff.

Hi, how do I get the font size to automatically adjust to how big the text field is? When I set it to "Dynamic Font", the font will end up being way(!) too big for short names. Longer names somehow work.

I can manually set a font, but that's not preferable.

GC has not Worked properly with the custom name in a very long time… The last time we try to troubleshoot as I was told that I should just use SEOBS which is fine but I find that from my personal needs from my stream I get the most from combining the two of you and I really would like my bot to use the custom name because then I don’t have to pay for a sub for my bot or anything

Lets do 2 things:
Delete the JWT token and relogin with your account at the top.
Delete the Oauth token and click the link below that to generate a new one.

hi! i have an issue - the stream i follow awards 20 points/10 min. but i receive absolutely nothing. i have tried using a different browser as well as a different device. i do get points that are added manually and everything else(watchtime, offwatchtime...) works fine. no one else seems to have this issue on that channel

@final plaza if it is a differente account and not a rename of the profile on Twitch, then this command (!rename) has not effects on this change. About the points, the new profile name now has 30607 and the old one has 0 (zero) points on that Leaderboard.

@molten cipher If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Opera GX and the new Microsoft Edge Chromium might work closest to Chrome as its also Chromium built. Firefox also works, but some things might look a bit different or not work. from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs.

2) Start your stream/recording for about 30 seconds. Make sure you replicate any issues as best you can, which means having any games/apps open and captured, etc.
3) Stop your stream/recording.
4) Select Help > Log Files > Upload Current Log File. Copy the URL and paste the link here.

Note: If you do not see an obsproject.com URL, you will need to update OBS Studio to version 22+.

Today I go into to retrieve my payment and its telling me that my bank details are no longer correct. Now I know sharing bank info on here is a TERRIBLE idea. @untold saffron Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

@quaint vine There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings) or with the Twitch dashboard: https://dashboard.twitch.tv/stream-manager

@torpid vector If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

hi! I have an issue - the stream i watch gives 20 points/10 min. but i receive absolutely nothing. I have tried using a different browser as well as a different device. I do get points that are added manually and everything else(watchtime, offwatchtime...) works fine. Also i changed my profile name(renamed - same account) like two months ago but i'm not sure if that's relevant to my issue. No one else seems to have this issue on that channel and the X points/X min. works fine in other channels for me.

This system is fully automated. If you renamed your account, your previous points have to be added to your current one. Please use !rename YourOldUsernameHere on chat, so bot can assign those points to you

Hi, i didnt change anything on my OBS but i just realize started from aug 21 onwards, my alerts doesnt work anymore, i try to go to my overlays > alerts > emulate, it appears on the website SE but it doesnt appear on my OBS. from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs.

Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Note: If you see X channel has hosted you with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

@gaunt chasm If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png).
Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

@sudden siren If you changed your name on Twitch, please follow these steps:

Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again by connecting with Twitch.
On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select Join under bot settings. If it says Part select that and then select Join to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

Hi. I've been confused and having trouble with the extension not showing data. It was working fine last night. Just discovered this moments ago. So I went in the extension to re-select and configure the leaderboards options. I can't even click "save"! I uninstalled the extension, logged out of the StreamElements site, logged back in, reinstalled the extension, all to no avail. I still can't click "save."

Hello, I use the stream elements mod for my channel and just saw that you guys provide a pretty good overlay application and I tried using some that i made and also some of the ones already created but everytime i add the browser source to my obs it only shows like 33 percent of the left side of the alertbox widget.

Would setting up a timer at has a 1 Minute Interval that uses 1 Chat line be the way to trigger the timer any time someone speaks in chat? Or should I uncheck the "Online Inteval (minutes) box and just use the Chat Lines?

@main shuttle it is a local problem, so we cannot reproduce this error here. You can try using a VPN connection to know if you have an issue with your internet connection (ISP problem or other) or another software problem that is blocking you receive the StreamElements Extension data.

@slender prism when configured the time interval and the number of chat lines, the bot will trigger the time count and when finished if you do not have the number of lines in your live chat, then the time count will be restarted until you have the number of lines in the chat and he can send the Timer message.

Hi, I've brought this issue up before and after the recommendation for Twitch user JustTheMole to logoff and back onto Stream Elements it's still not resolved.

Previous Issu: He has channel currency but when he goes to redeem it Stream Elements tells him he has 0 currency.

Yesterday he subbed to me and the notification said [name] instead of JustTheMole. Shortly after that someone else subbed to me and the notification was good.

See the pictures.

There seems to be a disconnect somewhere.

@spice cedar Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have overlays over your console gameplay.

@terse tundra If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money.

Hi! How would I go about getting just the message from an alert? I want to process the text message live in a lua script in OBS. What would be the simplest way to get the message from streamelemets into the script?
Can I get it through a normal alert and just read the message when it comes through? Can I get it in a text file or web link that a text source can use that I can then read from my script? Any other suggestions/ideas?

@onyx kernel Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

Speed tests usually cannot help solve this problem and its best to use this guide: https://obsproject.com/wiki/Dropped-Frames-and-General-Connection-Issues

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

@clever ivy To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Paste your overlay URL in the browser source properties, set the dimensions to 1920x1080 (unless you changed them on the website) and check Shutdown source when not visible. https://youtu.be/KDvLynUqXI4

Hello I have question I have a fellow twitch gamer friend that has a bot that gives out his discord channel at timed intervals with stream labs while he’s live streaming I’m wondering if stream elements has something just like that. If you do how do I set it up?

Yes it does and they are called timers and you can edit them on the dashboard @sweet nova

my video codec in the twitch inspector has shown N/A when i run a bandwidth test through OBS Live

I looked at my past broadcast and it was perfectly stable before running at 4000 kbps 60fps and never had an instability. I think the video codec had changed? i'm not sure how it happened and how i can change it back

So.... everytime I get everything set and I can finally capture my desktop sound the moment I unmute my mic the desktop sound goes away and even when I remute my mic the desktop sound will not pick up..... I've been fighting with this for hours... any ideas? I am using eth 64 bit version

@ionic kelp they kept following and unfollowing the stream as their notification keeps appearing, i think they're doing it to see their name appear in the alert.

HI there for the past 4 hours or so, my Twitch Panel isn't loading. When I try to access the 'Configure' in Edit Panels, all the settings have reset and if I make changes and save, when I reopen it, it's reset again (so not saving any changes). Is there a current known issue with the panel?
