I have some overlays that im trying to make work. The original scene on the obs app projects the game but doesn't show the overlay. I'm looking for a friend who wants to do a follower-goal but i'm struggling with the widgets...

i tried this:

Add Widget -> Labels -> Followers -> Total & All Time -> Total Followers - And the Text he wants is "{count} / 200". I tried it at my dashboard (got 438 Follower) and the Text displayed is "438 / 200" <- thats correct.

Now i'm trying it with Add Widget -> Labels -> Followers -> Goals -> Follower Goal. Looks quite better, but the Text displayed then is 378 / 200 instead of 438 / 200
Whyever the Label "Follower Goal" don't recognize my Follower-Count correctly.

But why?

• from the overlay editor -> session data on top right (monitor symbol) -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
• from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
  Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

@lethal kite Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

@neon nexus If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

It's more complicated... I am a moderator, the streamer is my boyfriend, he uses two computers, one for streaming and one for producing music. Computer used for streaming has WIndows 7 and we cannot change that - so we can't use the latest OBS version. I can do it on my computer. But when I launch OBS live, the stream is not working fine - we have stops, lags, it looks like my OBS live uses too much internet transfer... That is why I decided to use Ground Control, to check out if it helps

Audio issue:

Changed the output in Windows to a different output but the game still forces the audio to the main output (game has no options for this)

Works fine for most apps but a few games still play the audio to the main output, even when changed in Windows.

• Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline

Media Request Question. I just started using this option. When I change scenes to just a basic scene (End Scene) while the Media request is in the "Show on Screen" mode, it stops playing the music. If I switch to "Stop Showing on Stream" mode, the sound returns. Does this feature only work with an active widget on the screen? Any time I switch off of my In Game scene, I have to manually toggle the "Display on Stream?"

Note: I am using a dedicated streaming pc.

1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

In the last few weeks, I have had several reports of OBS "disconnected from server" during my livestreams to Twitch. On my OBS live dashboard, it says the stream is still connected and running fine. However, my viewers lose the stream for a minute and then it just automatically reconnects. My OBS is fully updated. I have no indication that the stream has "crashed" except for what my chat says and a PC notification that comes up on my dashboard after the fact saying that OBS disconnected and reconnected to the server at a particular time. My internet is not going out. I'm not sure if this is a Twitch server issue, or an issue with OBS, but the frequency of this is becoming a problem. Thank you for your time!

There is no direct link between watchtime and all-time points.
It can’t be calculated from the amount of all-time points a user has because subs may earn points at a faster rate and !bonus all command increases all-time points for users in chat at that time.
Giving points to a single user does NOT affect all-time, only when giving to all in chat.

WARNING: In submitting a closure request, all linked channels within the account will be deleted and you will lose all associated data. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data (tips, subs, etc). You can still reconnect with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

Hey there! I have no idea if this is the right place to put this, so if this is the wrong spot I apologize. I am currently switching from Streamlabs to Stream Elements to my alerts, but for some reason they continually break in a way that streamlabs does not. Because of this I am having to use Streamlabs for my alerts and Streamelements for everything else, which is ovbously not a great solution. I have the NerdOrDie Arcade Pop Alert Box, but for some reason, sometimes when I put in a test alert, the diamond around the alert logo will shift downwards making the entire thing look broken. This happens for every single kind of alert at random. Sometimes it works, but most of the time it freaks out. I recorded a video of my problem as well. Is there a way I can post it somewhere here to get some help? Loving everything ELSE about Stream Elements so far though!

I typed !commands and some of the custom commands and they don't work at all.

@pale lark If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

Okay so I am having an issue with loyalty points. I have added bots that show up in my chat at random to the excluded list from gaining points for just being there. However. When I use the !addpoints all command it still gives them points and I need to keep going in an clearing them out from the leaderboard later. Is there a specific command or way to only give points to those who are actively typing in chat or to somehow not give points to these random bots? A bit worried since I see more questions than answers in here, but... I have a sub alert variation to activate if someone tier 2 subs, but for some reason the overlay preview in the editor will show it, but OBS will show a tier 1 sub alert instead. anyone know how to fix this?

@frozen dust There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the Dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings)

@lethal vault Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card, PS4 remote play or Xbox companion app and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

@zenith widget fanhots is the streamer. I ended up changing it to a Command Keyword to get it to function properly, but still is weird.

Also other Regex commands normally function properly for his stream, but occasionally not and the particular instance from today that I was referencing didn't work no matter what i changed and yet still worked fine on my personal stream. @zenith widget

Regex is finicky so its a bit a of a hard topic to troubleshoot :/

Yeh it's tough because sometimes a Regex will be working, then randomly 1 day it will stop detecting the text properly. Then I add a Space in the Regex, Save, delete the Space, Save and it sometimes fixes it xD @zenith widget

so when the chance doesn't trigger, it will default back to the default alert

also, my chances earlier were 1.666 because there was gonna be 60 variations, some for tiers, some for gifts, and variations on top of those catagories for sfx and rotated images

@burnt hearth Theres no total chance. Each variation when conditions are met, for example Resub exactly 12 months and it has a 20% to trigger, then the system will see its conditions meet and will throw a dice(not really, but do a random number generator based on the 20%). If it lands on lets say 15 then its gonna trigger, else its going to ignore it and see where it can fall back. If there is a 2nd variation with the same condition but 60%, it will try to use that and again do the same procedure and so on and so on, until it falls back to the previous alert that matches its conditions

then the overlays needs to be reloaded after the settings are turned on
