Im having issues with my streamelements obs, it will not let me change my stream title or game, or even report the issue to your support team. And when i checked for updates it took 3 times to update and even still it will not function properly.

@terse fog There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the Dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings)

@bleak dagger There is no easy way to unlink 2 owner type accounts from each other. The only way is to make a closure request from here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/account/security
WARNING: In submitting a closure request you will delete both linked accounts and loose all data from both accounts. This includes overlays, custom commands, timers and past data(tips, subs, etc). You can still relogin with the deleted account, but you are essentially starting fresh.

@cobalt cape If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification. Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction. If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money.@radiant pilot

thanks for the reply, yeah even from what ive seen it seems like a popular topic. Things can get real messy once you buy a few overlays or have different overlays for different games etc..not to mention installed widgets. The fact that they move around in order of recently updated doesnt help either @prisma relic . Thanks again tho, was curious if any interest was given since the thread is about 2 years old

Hi there - I'm having some issues with Streamelements Alerts during my stream. The audio/gif seem to be really laggy and this doesn't happen when i just have OBS open and testing. I checked the remainder of my stream and the quality is only affected on the alerts. I can provide a clip of me testing during my stream if needed. Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and if there's a way to fix?

Afaik the default alert needs to be created. Variations can then be copied when created newly.

Is there not a setting to set a minimum? I have set this to 0. Tests work off stream but during the show, I see the alert in chat but no alert is triggered. Also, my streamelements dashboard does not show any hosts either

@halcyon hollow Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

We receive raid not via command as it is typed on source not target channel. We receive notifications just as chat users receive them (kind of). Then we display alerts for them.

In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings)

Understandable. I think this is the way to go. The part SE has in transaction is receiving confirmation from PayPal only (whole process is done on paypal and they just let SE pay that payment was successful). If they confirm that recipient's address is correct you will need to contact PayPal as they could freeze those funds for some time.

from the overlay editor -> session data on top right (monitor symbol) -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

I want to make a command that can be used once per stream and only when I make it available, which will be my discretion. When a user uses this command, I want them to get a 'point' added to their total and for this to persist across streams.

I am okay with setting up the command but how do I accomplish the accumulative points and adding them to a user in the first place? Is this possible?

@halcyon pier There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the Dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings)

from the overlay editor -> session data on top right (monitor symbol) -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

@knotty ember If you changed your name on Twitch please follow these steps:
🔹 Visit https://streamelements.com/logout and then log in again with by connecting with Twitch.
🔹 On the right side of the dashboard page that opens, select "Join" under bot settings. If it says "Part" select that and then select "Join" to send the bot to the chat. Don't forget to mod the bot by typing /mod streamelements in your channel if you have not already.
🔹 Post your old and your new name here so that we can update your channel's chatstats tracking (must be done by staff).

ok, 2 weeks later, my alerts are still not working. Nor is the chatbot sending the alerts through text either. Things I've done are, relogging into obs.live (no longer using obs.live, using regular obs studio now), checking both 'shutdown source when not visible', & 'refresh browser when scene becomes active'. Enabled hardware acceleration. None of those have worked

I'm not getting a visual or sound trigger from the alert box or chat msg of the alert from the bot.

@severe iris Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All hosts coming from an online channel with at least 1+ viewer
Auto host events with at least 1 viewer - only from a channel that just went offline
Note: If you see "X channel has hosted you" with no viewers on the back, that is considered an offline host or a host with 0 viewers, we do not show these.

@prisma relic @round bramble Never mind I figured it out on my own. I had to complete my dashboard to get to that screen. Also just an fyi Your bot has some major issues with streamlabs. I know their your competitor and get why you wouldn't want to support with them but the fact that all my streamlab alerts would not pop up after enabling this bot was not disclosed to me. Thanks for the help though.

@inland rain Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

Heyo I'm using the Extra Life Donation Tracker in Stream Elements and it shows the correct amount - but when I open it up in OBS or Preview it, it's set to 0 - like it's lost my Extra Life ID that I input on the Stream Elements Settings. Any idea how to fix this?

@timid crown You can test Alerts via the Emulate bell on the lower left side of the Overlay Editor. Simply go to your Dashboard -> My Overlays -> Pencil/edit button on the overlay. Make sure the "Preview LIVE on stream" option is on to see the alert in OBS/Xsplit https://streamable.com/vtulg9

from the overlay editor -> session data on top right (monitor symbol) -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
from the dashboard -> activity feed on the left -> widget data on the right -> goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal
Note: Goal widgets(progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you loose followers/subs

hello. i'm having a few issues getting my stream elements bot to set up the way i need it. first, i cant figure out how to remove the emotes from the bots auto responses to events like raffle fails because no one joins, and another issue is i cant get the bot to call my loyalty points by the custom name i have put in. i've used the !pepes disable command it responds as if the emotes should be gone but when i test them again the emotes still show up. i've also tried going into the bot commands and changing the loyalty point names there but it still responds calling them 'points' when a user enters the !skulls command which is what i changed the command to for checking loyalty points in my channel

For the emotes, go into the module for the game and delete the emotes from the responses.

@silent flicker There is a bug with setting the stream title in OBS and the Dev team is investigating.
In the meantime you can set the title using the !settitle command in chat (if enabled in your bot command settings)

I was curious why I needed a separate browser source to have purchase alerts in OBS?

As opposed to just a normal overlay where I have all my alerts. In the "emulate menu" there's a purchase event option to simulate/test the merch event... but it won't show unless I use an additional overlay for just the merch event.

Merging accounts only allows faster ways to switch between accounts
Merging accounts does not allow data sharing between accounts - different streaming platforms, different type of events
Merging accounts allows duplicating/sharing overlays between the accounts
If you understand the limitations of merging and want to proceed, please find the JWT tokens (!jwt) from both accounts you want to merge and you will be directed to DM them to a staff member.

I hope this is the right place to post this... I've been experiencing a memory leak in my obs and i've pinpointed it to the browser source overlay from streamelements. I've opened my obs log and I found this repeated constantly: "obs-browser: missing emote definition (source: https://streamelements.com/overlay/scripts/app.js:299)" . Any ideas on what is happening? It's causing me to end my streams early due to OBS crashing because my computer runs out of virtual memory.

@inland rain Consoles do not have native support for overlays. You would need a capture card and a PC with OBS in order to have Overlays over your console gameplay.

Not really unless you embed it with an iframe, but then again you will have to let it redirect properly when someone orders.

Yes - remove all other colors and leave the one you want to show then reenable previous colors.

@graceful kettle If you are not hearing your Alerts and/or Media request, you are most likely using the "Control Audio via OBS" option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

Well, I'm not really sure what you mean by this part "sheckt streamelemeents youtube shannel but it is nothing there", but assuming that you are trying to stream to youtube, then most likely yes, try the above.

When I run OBS to stream on twitch or to even record fortnite now it badly lags, sound drops and that’s only since I got the stream element obs. Recording worked fine before that

@lusty tulip If your commands recently stopped working and you're using OBS.Live and a custom bot name do the following:
1.) In OBS.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2.) Click on Stream Settings -> Custom bot name
3.) In the "Custom bot name" field select "Set custom bot name", not your already existing username (with capital letters)
Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/sO7fWOX.png)
4.) Scroll a bit down and click on the purple "CONNECT CUSTOM BOT ACCOUNT" button
5.) Log in as usual and "Authorize" the custom bot name
6.) Back in the Activity feed, click on the "SEND TEST MESSAGE" button and check if your custom bot name starts working again
