To further the line of thought, OBS.Live is a plugin for OBS Studio that adds extra tools but doesn't change the base functionality, especially not the encoding and the way it uploads to Twitch. That's still OBS Studio functionality, which is why you were directed to their Discord for support.

Hello, I am attempting to set up an alert box. I set up an overlay with the guide provided by the StreamElements website and created a browser source within OBS. However, when I send an emulation alert it only appears in the StreamElements overlay tab, not in my OBS browser source. So when I send a test alert nothing appears in my actual OBS window. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OBS.Live has to be running to change the bot name from StreamElements to either your twtich name or a custom bot name, wich you have to create a twtich account for.
There is a pinned message in #helpdesk-selive on how to give a custom bot name. This name will then be changed for your channel in total when OBS.Live is activated.

Hello there, friends, ❤ I came here in search of a specific answer - I need help setting my alert widget animation right. See, I have a video webm animation for tips, that is meant to be a full screen animation - (things drop from the top and end up on the bottom of my screen), but for some reason when I add the video in widget editor and try to stretch it - animation doesn't get scaled with me resizing the border. It just stays the same. Plus, I am looking for a way to work with the margins of video animation relative to a widget's border (same as with the text). Any insights? Thanks a lot! The video should take up all the space in the widget border up to a maximum of its resolution

so if the video is a 1280x720 resolution it won't stretch beyond that.

No. Our labels are cloud based and are handles via our aggregates and session system.

My sound files worked correctly 4 hours ago, but now they just don't (i didn't change anything). When I open my sound file via uploader-gallery interface they work well. When I emulate alerts - they don't. I am lost!

@twin sentinel i need to use firefox and i see no reason why the certificate shouldn't work... it worked until 1 week ago "api.streamelements.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.

The issue is most likely with the website, and there is nothing you can do to resolve it."

I've been exploring streaming elements dashboard and in the live feed I've actually clicked on Mute Alerts, cuz I thought that that concerns little audio notifications for alerts ON the live feed only. I thank you for your perception 😃 Also, I propose dev team put a warning (i) on that icon\button covering this issue for the future. I put the follower count variable in the 'thanks for the follow' message but it seems to grab the variable from before the follow registered

Hello! I have a quick question: If I am streaming on console with Twitch, can I still use Stream Elements for the chat features? I know I can't do much with overlays and such without OBS and all that, just wondering what the basic features I can use on console are. My goal is to be able to at least use it for chat moderation and fun commands, but wondering about things like the custom currency and hoping there arent console limitations. You are trying to stream with a bitrate of 2500 with 720p60fps. For this resolution twitch recommends at least a bitrate of 3500. Also you are streaming via Wi-Fi which is not recommended.
And you should enable Vsync or set a reasonable frame rate limit in your game, cause your GPU is maxed out.

when using OBS Live it shows up your stream information the moment you log in but when you close the application and you open it up again it's gone you won't even see it in the docks you'll have to log in to see it again

Make sure you are on the latest and greatest version of OBS.Live ( 19.3.24.375)
exit OBS (make sure OBS is not running)
delete %appdata%\obs-studio\plugin_config\obs-browser\obs_profile_cookies
start OBS.Live
Settings -> Stream -> disconnect -> connect

most likely wrong resolution of the overly itself, of the browser source or of the OBS canvas size.

please check that the browser source resolution is the same as your base canvas resolution, if you haven't changed the overlay resolution on the website. by default 1080p (1920x1080)

Also please try to clear the browser source cache and reset the overlay with the reload overlay button on top of the activity feed.

Not sure if this is the right place but I’m brand new to trying to stream and make YouTube videos from my console gameplay. I played around in streamlabs for a min but maybe you guys can save me a headache or two. I have a 9900k with a rtx2070, 2 monitors and c922, blue yeti and elgato hd60pro. Performance wise, it can help, since OBS.Live is a plugin for OBS Studio, and OBS Studio provides more detailed control over your stream settings.

So you can fine tune it.

As for overlays, that one's a bit rougher. Their OBS export is in their own file type that isn't compatible with OBS Studio, and that aside, using our cloud-based overlay system is more recommended than running it all locally.

There's no welcome option. The minimum requirement for the bot to do something for someone new is for them to follow.

If you just want it to respond to the word "hi" regardless of who says it or when, you can make a command with a keyword, but that's gonna get very old, very fast.

Add an item that has these settings on it:

Stream Perk
Loyalty settings to your desire
(Next step) Add contents (image and/or sound you want to play)
"Redeeming this item shows an alert
Redemable via chat
Skip Requirements

Get the item name/command from the 2nd creation page
Go to commands page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/commands/custom
Add command with desired name and have response for command as: ${redeem item_name_here}
Go to your overlays and edit the overlay you use.
Click on "widgets" and add "Store redemptions" widget. Click save and you should be golden.
Test your own command in chat and have OBS or editor open to hear sound

Hey guys, Im trying to setup a media request option and am using obs.live currently. Everytime I click play on a song or video and have it showing on stream there are two of the video playing and an echo because of it. I dont know how to fix this, as I have tried it with just normal OBS and ground control and the same thing happens

@junior glacier Make sure to ☑ “Shutdown source when not visible” for all browser sources (all OBS scenes). Go to Stream Store page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/store/items
Add an item that has these settings on it:

Stream Perk
Loyalty settings to your desire
(Next step) Add contents (image and/or sound you want to play)
"Redeeming this item shows an alert
Redemable via chat
Skip Requirements

Get the item name/command from the 2nd creation page
Go to commands page here: https://streamelements.com/dashboard/bot/commands/custom
Add command with desired name and have response for command as: ${redeem item_name_here}
Go to your overlays and edit the overlay you use.
Click on "widgets" and add "Store redemptions" widget. Click save and you should be golden.
Test your own command in chat and have OBS or editor open to hear sound

@onyx bane Hi. Once overlay is loaded it is stored on your computer, but video files are rendering in real time, so they are still using resources (CPU/GPU load but not bandwidth)

guys when someone hosts me I dont get an alert and in my dashboard it also doesnt show ive downloaded the desktop app and have that open but hosts just dont seem to want to go through alerts? help? haha

@rapid bloom Due to changes to Twitch API, we have filtered out hosts and will only show these ones on your activity feed:

All manual host events (0 hosts included and if filter set to 0)
All hosts coming from an online channel. If the hosting channel has been offline, we do not show it
All auto host events with at least 1 viewer

That sucks now i gotta guess which host are manual and which ones are auto host. Ive been constantly apologizing for not having host show up in chat
