Steps to enable custom name

2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

Hi, I'm having an issue with the Latest Subscriber widget. I streamed earlier today and it was working fine but since ending the stream I've gotten a new Subscriber but the widget isn't showing their name. It just says "Latest Subscriber:". I've tried removing and re-adding it, reloading OBS, Twitch and Streamelements, playing the alert again and starting/ending stream. They also followed and are showing up on my Recent Followers widget but not the Latest Subscriber widget

if thats done and it still appears there are only two other possibilitys:
a) you have the overlay editor open at the same time
b) there is a seond Alertbox widget in your overlay

Hello, I apologize for requesting help for this because I am sure you hear this a lot but when I stream I have a mass fps drop using streamelements and I noticed its because the overlay is using browser. When I deactivate the browser overlay my frames go back and stay around 60. I did not have this issue when I used streamlabs. Is there anyway around this issue? I really like StreamElements but my stream is laggy no matter what I do and I do not want to change my settings to 620p like it suggests. I have fast internet so I do not think thats that problem and I do have the setting "Shutdown source when not visible".

Steps to enable custom name

1. Sign in to https://twitch.tv with the bot account
2. Install and run Ground Control (!gc for download)
3. Visit https://twitchapps.com/tmi/ and generate an oAUTH token
4. Copy/paste everything in the box to Ground Control oAuth settings and enter the name for the bot account
5. Restart Ground Control (custom name may take a few minutes to take effect)

Mac does not currently support renaming the bot.

well, for gif, it you want a reasonable file size, it will need to be much much smaller, like lower than HD resolution, so sub 1280x720. If you want to retain quality, at a small size, I would suggest looking into converting to webm

its just the alert overlay that should pop up into the stream

If the bot is posting in chat, that would mean we are getting the events. I would double check the alert widget in the overlay, and test it in the overlay editor to ensure its working. If that is not the case then I can really only suggest to try OBS and not SLOBS. SL has been known in the past to block our services with their applications, and we cannot guarantee reliability with their applications due to this.

I see the comments about hosts above. Since yesterday (we think) we're no longer seeing some host alerts on stream or in the activity feed. It seems to be manual hosts with 0 viewers. Since "All manual host events (0 hosts included and if filter set to 0)" should include our hosts, something seems off.

I tested it myself and ran /host from my own stream to the one I'm working on and SL has the event but not SE.

The person needs to have been in your channel when the bot is present, and if the bot is removed from the channel, or is restarted server side, it will forget those users until they are in your channel again. That is why it works for some users that are not currently present in chat. This is how it was explained to me, and my tests seem to confirm this

@fervent nacelle So twitch allows name change every 3 months or so, as long as the new name is available.

Only problem is, the name must also follow community conduct afaik

so most like the name you want either violates the community conduct or the name is taken. The name is not take in this case, so most likely if you could not take the name you wanted, then its against the community conduct and/or TOS
