Hi, I'm having trouble with the chatbot in StreamElements: on the dashboard on the left it says "the bot is currently not in your chat", and according to helpful vids, when I click "Join channel", it's supposed to bring up a window with the wrench icon etc, but this window is not coming up. Instead the pop up msg at the bottom says "successfully joined your channel" but the msg at the top doesn't change and still says "bot currently not in your chat". This problem arose coz the chatbot never acknowledges new followers even though this feature is enabled in the Modules:ChatAlerts. So I think my problem is that the bot is not in my chat?? But how do I get it connected so that it does these chat alerts?? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!!

Follow these steps to grant managers/moderators access to your dashboard:

1. Click on your channel name at the top of the dashboard
2. Create a new invite at one of three access levels (Bot Supervisor, Editor, Full Control)
3. Send this invite to a mod/manager to give them access to your dashboard. The link is one-time-use and expires after 72 hours if not accepted

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

What is the difference between Streamelements Purchase and Merch alert ?

In both alerts you buy merch.

If you try to emulate " Merch Event " to preview your alert, it only shows the Merch alert and not the Purchase alert.

Credit Roll widget from Streamelements --- Username Font Size

I am using the Credit Roll widget from Streamelements but username font size does not change.

Username font size was 24 by default, changing to 100 does not work, after saving and refreshing.

Title size and subtitles sizes are separate options and they do change sizes when I want. Any help? 🙂

I am using the Events Rotator widget from Streamelements but changing font sizes cuts off the letters.

Even if you change size of the widget accordingly, letters get cut off.

If you are using the total follower/total subscriber widget, reset your session from the Activity Feed to fetch updated data from twitch. If you’re using goal widgets, you can edit the progress of any goal by going to Activity Feed > Widget Data > Goals. This can also be found in the Overlay Editor by selecting DATA (next to WIDGETS) > Goals.

To add your overlays to OBS, add a new browser source in your scene. Alert boxes exist within overlays which is how they’re added to obs. So the overlay is a representation of all cloud-based assets you can display on your stream (including alert boxes). So you can build a single “overlay” with multiple assets and use only a single browser source inside obs to reduce resource use. Just so you know for future reference 😉

Also makes it easier to duplicate assets and alerts between overlays

It’s a very different methodology from streamlabs which generates “widgets” inside their obs client and each one of those is a separate browser source using up more resources the more widgets you add

Having trouble connecting my chatbot. On the Stream Elements dashboard it says "The bot is currently not in your chat", and when I click "Join channel", it says (at the bottom of screen) "failed to connect bot" , I click "Part channel", It says "successfully parted your channel" (not that I know what this even means), I click "Join channel" again, then it says "successfully joined your channel", but at the top it still has the original msg of "The bot is currently not in your chat". No other windows pop up. What am I doing wrong? It's frustrating cause currently when I get a new follower it doesn't acknowledge this in the chat even though the chat alert for this is fully enabled. Please help!! and thanks in advance

Hey, I'm having an issue with the sound of my alerts in StreamElements :
When a viewer follow my channel, my alert should show & play a sound. But in reality the alerts shows with no sound.

When I emulate it from the editor (with the "Preview LIVE on stream" option checked), the sound plays correctly but not in OBS (even with the "Control audio via OBS" option checked).
I found out that when I open the overlay's URL in a browser (and then emulate an alert with the "Preview LIVE on stream" option checked from the editor), no sound is played (cf. Screen) in that tab.

Is there an option to disable audio in overlay (that I checked because I'm quite dumb) or is it something else ?

If we change it around and make the list:

Hello All, I have used StreamElements with OBS for years with static overlay elements used as browser sources. However, last night I swapped to a new overlay that uses videos for dynamic elements and I added them as a browser source like before. However, my elements just randomly disappeared. For example my facecam box would go away, but the text for the followers names and what not would stay. My alerts would make the sounds but not show the animation etc. Any ideas?

I made a new overlay. The browser Source is on top and it will work for a while then just stop. It is almost like a bandwidth issue. Is there a cap on what StreamElements will stream out?

Like I am remoted into my home pc atm from work and pulled up OBS just to see what was going on and the dynamic overlay was working for a while and then things started to vanish. They are looping like they are supposed to they just time out or something at some point. I added the layers as a Video and uploaded the file. Is there another way I should have done it?

Oh if it helps it does not just vanish in OBS. It also will dissapear on the Stream Elements site in the Edit for that overlay. If I refresh it a couple of times on the site it will reappear on the SE site and my OBS until it times out again.

It looks like each file is 5mb. So like my game Overlay is just my facecam which is a 5mb video and then my alerts in the middle. My Intermission window is a 5mb and my chat, and things like BRB and Starting Soon are just a 5mb video.

Each of those are there own browser source an scene in OBS. The game Scene has both the alerts and facecam videos and the others just have a video except for the one with a video and chat.

have you made sure to check the boxes for "Shutdown source when not visible" and "refresh browser when scene becomes active" in your browser source properties? Those boxes should be check on all browser sources to ensure resources are released when not in use.

I got a problem... I'm trying to set up the newest follower, newest subscriber, ... stuff in Streamlabs using the labels that are provided there, but all I can see is a big black line from top to bottom. There's no text, and when added on my overlay, it's just transparent.

If you are using the total follower/total subscriber widget, reset your session from the Activity Feed to fetch updated data from twitch. If you’re using goal widgets, you can edit the progress of any goal by going to Activity Feed > Widget Data > Goals. This can also be found in the Overlay Editor by selecting DATA (next to WIDGETS) > Goals.

Dropped Frames means that you have a bad connection between your device and the streaming platform and most likely something related to your ISP not handling the connection properly.

If you stream to twitch, use the !twitchtest command and do a connection test to your regional servers.

If you are not hearing your alerts and/or Media Request, you are most likely using the Control Audio via OBS option in your browser source properties.
To make sure you hear the alerts and the stream also hears them, follow along the screenshot bellow.

If your commands recently stopped working and you're using SE.Live and a custom bot name do the following:

1. In SE.Live, click on the hamburger menu (three stripes) at the top left of your activity feed
2. Click on Stream Settings > Custom bot name
3. In the Custom bot name field select Set custom bot name, not your already existing username (with capital letters). Note: If you already connected an account that way, the third entry will show as the account name (see image https://i.imgur.com/re4theQ.png).
4. Scroll a bit down and click on the purple Connect Custom Bot Account button
5. Log in as usual and Authorize the custom bot name
6. Back in the Activity feed, click on the Send Test Message button and check if your custom bot name starts working again

1. I haven't gotten any offers in the revenue tab of streamelements, even though i streamed every day last month to hundreds of viewers.

2. Right after a huge subathon (almost 600 hours straight) twitch put my payment on hold and its really been demotivating me from streaming this past month. I'm not banned and theres nothing on my appeals page, so i can continue streaming, but their support team is taking weeks between each vague email they send me and basically just keeping the money. Anyone ever heard of this happening before?

1. Sponsorship/Partnership offers are randomly activated and there is no set criteria for activating them on your SE account.
2. Twitch payments are handled via Twitch and information about the payout schedule can be found in their help articles. Since Twitch handles payouts for all income generated using bits/subs, there isn't much you can do outside of working with their support team patiently and ensuring that you read every e-mail twice and reply back with specific confirmation of any instructions in the event you need to use those e-mails in a legal dispute.

To reset goals:

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

If a viewer tipped through PayPal but no information appears in your StreamElements account, this generally means PayPal has held the tip for verification.
Until PayPal clears the tip and sends back a confirmation to your StreamElements account, no information will appear there and no alert will play, as that confirmation is the only way for us to be aware of a successful transaction.
There is a posibility that the tip may have been sent as an eCheque/eCheck - these tips can take from 7 up to 21+ days to show up on our side. Tippers can usually cancel these.
If you believe there may be an issue with the transaction, you'll need to contact PayPal support as StreamElements is only a passthrough service and never actually gets involved with the transaction or touches the money

You need to set up a variation within your subscriber alert and amend the community gift alert to what you want. Once enabled, it will play that alert instead of your regular Sub alert.

• from the Overlay Editor > Session data on top right (monitor symbol) > Goals tab > reset progress of desired goal
• from the Dashboard > Activity feed on the left > Widget data on the right > Goals tab -> reset progress of desired goal

Note: Goal widgets (progress) only counts up and doesn't go down automatically, if you lose followers/subs.

Reconfigure your audio correctly

Set windows output device to your headset, input device to microphone. Then in obs, click settings and then go to audio and disable all the default crap.

In your scene add audio input device and select your mic. Then add audio output device and select your headphones.

@near ice Not that I am aware of. The StreamElements bot itself does not get triggered by keywords itself posted in chat.

@tender ermine Check if the the level for the command !command set to the level the person trying to add commands is allowed to add cmds.

You can add, remove and make changes to custom commands in chat with !command/!cmd flags:

!command add (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to add a new custom command
!command remove (commandname) - allows you to delete a custom command
!command edit (commandname) (commandresponse) - allows you to edit an existing custom command
!command show (commandname) - allows you to see the raw response of a command before variables are used
!command options (commandname) -(flag) - allows you to change settings for an existing custom command

@median sleet Afaik the bot cannot react to its own commands, when the bot itself types in chat.
But for the title example you can use the bot command variable ${settitle "<title>"}
